Marcel looked at his brother for a while and shook his head.
MARCEL
how did it just happened? and judging from your look, it seems someone is not happy about the friendship anymore.
DERRICK
(He thought if he should tell his brother or not)
something happened between us
MARCEL
(He relaxed on his chair)
something happened? what happened?
DERRICK
we ki-ssed
MARCEL
what?
DERRICK
lower your voice bro, it was just a one time mistake that I’m regretting now.
MARCEL
you are confusing me bro, why are you regretting, is not like she for-ced you to do it..or did she?
DERRICK
It happened so fast bro, we were talking and the next minutes our li-ps accidentally met, well I pull off immediately thinking of the implication if I dare to fall for something like that, but damn bro, even as I fought the thought of going to a goddess to perform some shit scarifice I still couldn’t resist her, I just couldn’t….beside you know I have never been intimidate with any woman before, the ki-ss was all I could think of.
I grabbed her and we continue ki-ssing.
Marcel just sat in awe as he listen to his younger brother pour his heart out.
MARCEL
So, all you guys did was just ki-ss?
DERRICK

(He chuckled at his response)

Kim laid on the couch in her living room while clarrias-s sat on the floor with remote in hand as she sat facing Kim as Kim explained to her what happened between she and Derric
KIMBERLY
like seriously all my life I have never seen someone like Derrick before, well I agree the ki-ss was an agreed ki-ss, but he just laid on the couch like a bag of sand, he couldn’t even squee-zemy br£-$t, press my as-s, or even turn me over and touch my body like a man should….it felt awkward, men like him are no go area for me….in fact men like that turns me off.
CLARISSA
why did you ki-ss him in the first place? are friends suppose to be ki-ssing each other?
KIMBERLY
have you been listening to me? I said it was an accident ki-ss, then he grabbed me just when I thought it was a bad idea for us to be ki-ssing, he grabbed me and ki-ssed me only to show me how incompetent he is.
CLARISSA
Common that’s harsh, have you ever stop to think, I mean what if he was shy?
KIMBERLY
Shy for what? like he hasn’t press a woman’s br£-$t before? common tell me something else…..men like Derrick are the type that makes their partners cheat because they can’t play their game well.
CLARISSA
Babe be calming down ooh, now you are telling me you haven’t been picking his call, let me ask you, what if you run into each other and he ask you why you have been avoiding him?
KIMBERLY
I will tell him the truth of course, I don’t do weaklings
CLARISSA

KIMBERLY

CLARISSA
And you don’t know that would bruise his ego?

CLARISSA
I just lost my appetite….. sometimes I wonder if you are truly my sister kim….you are so mean
KIMBERLY

she said and went into the kitchen to cook noodle for herself since Clarissa said she won’t eat.
Marcel was trying his best to un-derstand why Kim would stop talking to his brother after they shared a ki-ss, then it Crossed his mind to ask his brother this question.
MARCEL
have you tried going to her house? I mean to seat one on one and talk?
DERRICK
The last time I texted her asking that we meet and talk her reply was “I’m not available today, tomorrow and forever” I just don’t un-derstand what exactly I did to have made her hate me this much.
MARCEL
this is so f*¢ked up bro, well, if she doesn’t want to talk to you or be friends with you again, you just have to let her go, after all they are many girls out there who would die to be a friend to a prince
DERRICK
That’s the thing bro, for this past one week I have tried to get her off my mind, but the only thing I think of is her, her smile, the way she rolls her eyes when she’s talking, the smell from her body, the taste of her food, the way she ki-ssed me….how can I forget someone who has gradually built her house inside of me.
Marcel’s mouth flew open, there was no more better explanation that would tell him his younger brother had fallen in love.
MARCEL
Are you already in love with this girl bro?
DERRICK
I don’t know how one can fall in love Marcel, but whatever I’m feeling I know I want to explore it but I’m being pushed back….and it suc-ks.
MARCEL
wow, my kid brother is in love…..since when did you realize your feeling?
DERRICK
I don’t know, maybe the first time I dropped her off at her place, she’s so feeble, unpredictable, but very emotional and she’s very easy to convince….that day I dropped her off I found out I wanted to know her more, I wanted to see the both side of this beautiful woman.
MARCEL
This is crazy, so what are we going to do now? the woman you love isn’t talking to you
DERRICK
you nee-d to help me bro, help me talk to Clarissa, I’m sure she can get throu-ghto her.
MARCEL
I will try my best….common cheer up, I’m sure she will come around.
DERRICK
I hope so too.
Kim returned back from the kitchen with her hot plate of noodles
KIMBERLY
You better not beg me because I won’t give you
(she said taking a seat)
CLARISSA
for my sake you nee-d to pick the boy’s call
KIMBERLY
Are we still talking about Derrick?
CLARISSA
of course, who else are we going to be talking about?
KIMBERLY
look sis, you know me that in this life I don’t have time for “I love you nonsense” I just fuc-k any man that catches my fantasy, so tell me, I’m not in love with Derrick, he can’t do the do, what should I be doing with someone like that?
CLARISSA
because you are afriad
KIMBERLY
(She chuckled)
afriad of what? of who?
CLARISSA
You are afriad you might fall in love with him, you told me yourself, you said before the ki-ss saga, Derrick is a very R0m-ntic and funny guy and that you enjoy his company….to me I don’t think you are mad at Derrick because he didn’t touch you well, I think you are using that as an excuse to stay away from him because your rules are beginning to fail you, your heart has started to dance to love song.
KIMBERLY
(she laughed)
you have watched too much Nollywood movies and its beginning to affect your br@in…..where did all this stupid talk come out from? I’m not in love with Derrick, his R0m-ntic yes, funny another yes, but don’t you think in my line of business I have met more R0m-ntic men than him? common sis…..if you can’t shift my wo-mb, make me scream your name and call you zaddy not daddy ooh, you know what i mean? then you are a no no for me…..is not only fall in love, is jump in love.

Clarissa was so pissed at her sister Kim that she had to leave her house to her surprisingly she and marcel met at the gate, since she didn’t drive her car out, she opened the gate with her key and entered the compound and opened it wilder for Marcel to drive in.
CLARISSA
Welcome, good evening
MARCEL
(He shut his car door)
thank you..how are you?
CLARISSA
I’m good, where is Derrick? I thought you said you were hanging out with him?
MARCEL
yeah, we met at a bar, he has gone back home
CLARISSA
oh okay
MARCEL
so how did it go? did Kim forgive you?
CLARISSA
of course, she’s my sister she can’t stay mad at me forever.
MARCEL
(He smiled)
I’m glad the Benjamin malice saga is finally over between you too.
CLARISSA
I’m glad too….i just got back, I will go freshen up and see you later.
MARCEL
sure, I will like us to talk, so I will be waiting.
CLARISSA
(she heard the seriousness in his voice)
hope all is well?
MARCEL
(He smiled)
of course all is well dear.
Clarissa searched his eyes as if looking for the truth in it, she gave a weak smile and left for her room, while Marcel opened his car and took the bottles of wine he bought and went to his flat.
Derrick was driving home when he and his brother parted ways, his hand was driving him home, but his body was begging to go see Kimberly, he turned the car over and drove to Kim’s place
he got to her place and on at the gate, the gate man opened the gate for him not knowing that Derrick and his madam were no longer good friends.
Derrick was really happy she hasn’t given the gate man warning to stop him from entering her house.
He came down from his car, the gate man ran to him to greet him well and probably get tipped, Derrick gave him ten thousand naira, it was the money he had in his pocket then.
the gate man took it happily and thanked him before running back to his post.
Derrick walked to the front door and knocked, Kim without asking who it was opened the door thinking it was her gate man, but she was surprise to see Derrick standing in front of her.
KIMBERLY
Derrick? how did you get in here?
DERRICK
I drove I guess
KIMBERLY
(She stood at akimbo )
so, what do you want?
DERRICK
you won’t even let me come inside Kim?
she was silent for a while, she thought of old time sake and moved from the way, he entered she followed and locked the door from behind.
immediately she entered Derrick rushed her, he grabbed her wai-st making her to face him, their nose close to each other, they could literally feel each other’s breathe on their faces.
Kim was surprise by his action, she tried to rele-ase herself but for some reason she was tempted to stay put and her him talk.
DERRICK
kimberly, whatever I have done to upset you please just tell me, I promise to make amends please.
KIMBERLY
How many times would I repeat myself Derrick? you didn’t do anything wrong.
DERRICK
And you want me to believe that? after that night everything changed, your attitude, everything and I’m sure it’s because I dI’d something bad….are you mad at me because I ki-ssed you? if you are I’m very sorry I won’t do it again…..its a promise….I’m just tired of this fight, the silent it’s killing me please kim
KIMBERLY
(She released herself from his grip)
look Derrick, you are a nice guy, and I’m not, I’m a kind of person who like to live her life and not have anyone control it, I’m like a bird that likes to fly….i don’t get engage in love, or things that will come back to hurt me….i just feel our closeness is getting too much so that’s why I want space.
DERRICK
(Confused)
you mean you have been avoiding me because you are afriad you might fall in love with me? what’s wrong with that? I’m I that bad that you can’t love?
KIMBERLY
(She chuckled and went to seat down)
you and clarrias-s won’t stop amusing me, who said in avoiding you because I’m afraid I might love you? I have never fallen in love, I don’t intend to start now…..I just don’t…
DERRICK
(Cuts in)
if you ain’t afriad of falling in love with me, then don’t push me away, let’s continue to be friends.
KIMBERLY
(She was quiet for sometime)
you know what? do prove to you and clarrias-s that you both are just having silly ideas in your head….its fine, we can continue to be friends
DERRICK
really? no limits? we can be as close as we used?
KIMBERLY
I guess so.
Derrick was so happy, he was grateful to his spirit for leading him to Kim’s house today, thank God he didn’t drive home with his broken heart, she wants to prove to him that she can’t fall in love without anybody, he would do his best to make her fall in love with him without even knowing it.
He pulled her up from the couch and hu-gged her so ti-ghtly that kimberly had no choice then to laugh
KIMBERLY
you want to choke me
DERRICK
You have no idea how much I miss you Kim, I almost went crazy thinking of losing you.
KIMBERLY
(She pulled away to look at his eyes)
and why is that?
Derrick knew if he told her he has fallen in love with her that would make her scared and refuse to be his friend, so he smiled and grabbed her wai-st, staring at her eyes
DERRICK
because you are my friend.
KIMBERLY
(she smiled)
I miss you too Sha, not plenty ooh just snall.
DERRICK
(He hu-gged her again, smelling her hair)
I’m glad you even thought of me.
After a long time of hu-g Kim pulled away from him
KIM
it’s almost 8pm, won’t you go home?
DERRICK
Hone? nope I’m going no where, we gonna talk, catch fun…..you have no idea how much I miss you.
KIMBERLY
Alright then, if you are going to sleep over, then I have to fix you something to eat.
Derrick smiled de-eply, it felt like he was dreaming, “tell me who wouldn’t fall for a girl like this? she’s the sweetest and the puriest in heart”
DERRICK
thanks
KIMBERLY
come, let’s go upstairs so you can freshen up, you sink.
DERRICK
(He chuckled)
have been drinking with marcel all evening.
KIMBERLY
Bad influence, how is he by the way
DERRICK
His fine.
KIMBERLY
okay, up,up, up, let’s go
she said pulling him up, Derrick got up and followed her.
He saw so happy that he didn’t think of how his mother would react, and he didn’t border to call his mother.
