A MONTH LATER
Clarissa was now perfect in dressing herself without the help of Marcel or Kimberly, this days Kim even get jealous that clarissa could do makeup more than she can.
her business was doing fine, Mr samuel was bringing deals from every Conner for her, her life was as good as perfect.
Marcel ran into a close friend who is now a senator, he heard Marcel was out of the country but was very Happy when he saw Marcel, he told him about his house opening party and how happy it will make him if Marcel could come.
Marcel knowing that his a public figure too, and how fast the news could travel if someone recognize him in that party as prince Marcel from Azov kingdom then it wouldn’t take long before queen Elizabeth unleash hell on earth.
but senator Godwin kept begging and begging till Marcel accepted to come to the party.
His mind was troubled, he knew something might go wrong, but he is a man of his words, he already told Godwin he was going to come and he will.
He got home and parked his car in his garage, Clarissa was seating in the garden eating biscuit and juice.
Marcel walked up to her and pec-ked her.
clarissa was surprised, because it was the first time he was ever doing that.
CLARISSA
hmm, it looks like someone is excited today
MARCEL
(Taking a seat beside her)
why did you say that?
CLARISSA
never mind…so how was your day?
MARCEL
My day was okay, how was yours?
CLARISSA
crazy and I’m really tired
MARCEL
you want a mas-sage?
CLARISSA
(She chuckled)
I will pas-s….I made yam porridge, you care for some?
MARCEL
maybe later, I nee-d to go freshen up
CLARISSA
alright, I’m beginning to get bored out here too, I will go inside soon.
MARCEL
alright….yeah that remains me, would you be free tomorrow night?
CLARISSA
yeah, why?
MARCEL
I will like you to go with me to a friend’s house opening
CLARISSA
Why didn’t you tell me earlier, I would have gone for shopping, I don’t have anything nice to wear
MARCEL
(He smiled)
that can be arrange, tomorrow when I’m coming from work I will just shop for you.
CLARISSA
it’s settled then
MARCEL
is that a yes?
CLARISSA
Of course, common, you are my friend and you mean so much to me.
she said and Marcel couldn’t help but smile and stare at her de-eply, she stare back at him too.
MARCEL
thank you…..see you soon
he said got up and pec-ked her on the cheeks again, before he left….clarissa used her hand to touch the place Marcel ki-ssed her and smiles.
For the past two days Derrick has been so busy with work that he couldn’t see Kim, he was always too tired after work to go see her, so he decided to close early today to go pay Kim a surprise visit
“I’m sure she will be so excited to see me, two nights ago she called me and was talking about how I haven’t check up on her for days and how she miss me, well it’s surprising that Kim would admit that she miss me considering the fact that she’s acting all tough and unlovable,”
He parked his car at her garage, he noticed another car was there, he has never seen the car there before “did Kim get herself a new ride” he thought before going inside.
Derrick’s mouth flew opened when he entered the living room, clothes were littered everywhere, pa-nt and br@ which his guessing belong to kimberly.
He felt a sharp pain in his heart, his legs fail him, he didn’t want to believe Kimberly was upstairs with another man.
his mind went back to that night they ki-ssed, he remembered how Kim ki-ssed him, how she suc-ked his n¡pp|e, and gave him the kind of plea-sure he never thought existed.
His heart broke even more thinking of it that the same plea-sure she gave him, she was giving it to another man.
“I can’t just stay here and conclude right? what if she’s not around and she gave her friend keys to stay over” what if”? to be sure I nee-d to confirm”
He said and started to walked towards the stairs, he had ba-rely taken few steps when he heard Kim’s voice
KIMBERLY
get your silly as-s and leave my house, and for the record if I ever see your face in my house ever again I will make sure you are arrested.
MAN
What? you just gonna send me out like trash?
KIMBERLY
of course, that’s is what you men are trash, oh you feel is okay to use a woman and dump her but it’s not okay to use a man and do the same? we met at the clue last night, I brou-ght you home and we had good fun, it’s almost 24 hours since you been in my house, I have had enough of you…so get the f*¢k out
MAN
you bitc-h, you think you can use me and dump me, so for you it was just the s-×
KIMBERLY
No it wasn’t I wanted to marry you….fool
Derrick heard sound and soon Kim screamed, he ran upstairs knowing the guy might have turn violent, I mean who would listen to all Kim just said and not get violent.
Derrick pushed the door open and met how this young handsome black man was trying to strangle Kim’s ne-ck
DERRICK
Get away from her, you bastard.
he said throwing a heavy punch on his mouth, the dude fell from the bed, Derrick who was already pissed off that he slept with the woman his in love with charge towards the guy again but he ran out of the bedroom to the living room to get his clothes.
he wanted to go after the guy but Kim stsrted to cough and hold her ne-ck so he stayed to make sure she was okay.
Derrick pulled her duvet over her nak-ed body and went downstairs, giving her time to get up and put on something.
Kim felt so embarras-sed, she didn’t know Derrick was going to come she would have discharge this bastard since morning, since she called him the previous day and asked when she was going to see him, he said soon but he hasn’t sure, she was bored and had to go to club that was where she met Eric and they came home together….they had s-× all throu-ghthe night, morning and slept a little then continue again, it was already getting late and Eric didn’t seem like he wanted to leave so Kim decided to ask him to leave…..she never wanted Derrick to meet her like this, “shit, shit, shit, this is so embarras-sing Kim” she yelled at herself.
she came down from her bed and looked for something to wear, she rushed downstairs to check if Derrick was still there.
He was seating in the living room with remote in hand.
Kim walked slowly and picked all her clothes on the ground, she kept it on the couch one side and went to seat beside Derrick.

Kim sat beside Derricksl quietly, she wanted to talk but she was too embarras-sed to say anything, she knows that she owns him no explanation but because he came to save her from that je-rk Eric she felt he nee-ds some explanation.
KIMBERLY
Eeh, I didn’t know you were coming
She said but Derrick didn’t say anything, his phone rang and he looked at the caller….it was his brother calling so he answered it
DERRICK
good evening bro
MARCEL
evening, how are you?
DERRICK
I’m fine…and you?
MARCEL
I thank God, I’m okay.
DERRICK
Are you at home?
MARCEL
yeah, I just got back….where are you?
DERRICKS
(he turn to look at Kim before he looked away)
I’m at kim’s but I will be heading home now
MARCEL
alright, I haven’t heard from you for days, I thought to check up on you.
DERRICK
Thanks bro, I have been so busy at work.
MARCEL
oh! okay…how’s mum and her troubles?
DERRICK
As always she’s fine.
MARCEL
alright then, do take care of yourself, and start going home now before queen Elizabeth have your head on a platter
DERRICK
I will….bye
MARCEL
bye
(he hung up)
Derrick got up to leave and Kim got up too, she tou-ched him to stop him from going and he turn to look at her….kim quiely removed her hands from his arm.
KIMBERLY
look, I’m sorry you had to see that okay, but that’s who I am, I’m not interested in love or whatever, I just meet a random guy we have good s-× and that’s it.
DERRICK
Really? you don’t believe in love or you are just a coward?
KIMBERLY
Excuse you
DERRICK
I refuse to be excused miss, this isn’t about believing in love or not, it’s just you, you are a coward, you are scared of being hurt, you fear pain so much that you create this world for yourself….you think this will save you? okay fine, let’s say ten to twenty years from now you become old, you are no longer attra-cted to any man, clarrias-s is happily married with kids, you will end up alone, no husband to love you and watch you grow old with him, if possible you end up becoming a single mother, your child will hate you, you know why? because you denied him a chance of having a father….you might end up dying a loner.
He said to her harshly, he was so pissed and all he wanted to hear was “I’m sorry, it won’t happen again” but she went on talking about “this is who I am, what the hell”? that annoyed Derrick even more.
KIMBERLY
(feeling pissed)
I don’t think it’s anyone’s business how I live my life, I own no one an explanation.
DERRICK
yeah, I’m sure you don’t……keep on living your life the way you want it…..it’s a pity that you are so scared of love and getting your heart broken yet love stare at you in the face without you recognizing it.
now I believe that adge that says “some have head but don’t have cap, while some have cap but don’t have head” your sister is a better woman that you will ever be, I wish I had met her first…..good ridden to bad ru-bbish.
Kim was dumbfounded, never in his wildest imagination would she ever think Derrick will speak to her like that
she was in great shock, she didn’t even know when Derricks left her apartment, the next she heard was the sound of his car driving out.
Kim sat on her couch, all her life she had never been this insulted “your sister is a better woman that you will ever be, I wish I met her first” those words kept singing in her head and breaking her heart. “apart from not loving someone, how is clarrias-s better than me? how is she a better woman and I’m not”?
she screamed at herself.
The whole of that night Kim could not sleep, she turn here she would hear Derrick’s voice saying “your sister is a better woman than you will ever be” if she turn to the other side she will hear his voice again….she got tired of trying to sleep so she went downstairs and took a bottle of whiskey that she drank and got drunk.
she took her phone and called Derrick but he didn’t pick, she kept calling for close to two hours so Derrick finally picked.
KIMBERLY
(She hiccu-ps)
I knew if I continue to call you will pick
DERRICK
What do you want miss? why are you calling my number? beside why ain’t you sleeping? it’s 1am already
KIMBERLY
(She hiccu-ps again)
How is my sister better than I am, I want to know….why on earth is she a better woman and I’m note
from the way she sounded Derrick was convinced Kim was drunk.
DERRICK
are you drunk?
KIMBERLY
Shut up, I’m not drunk, I’m just tipsy
DERRICK
whatever….if you have decided to use your night to drink, good for you, enjoy yourself, allow me to sleep please I have a busy day tomorrow.
He said and hung up, he knew she was going to call again so he immediately turn off his phone “how dare her hide un-der the influence of alcohol? how dare her? he said and closed his eyes to sleep.
The next morning clarrias-s received an urgent call from one of his employees that he asighed for a job around Lagos, she prayed he hasn’t mas-s up the clients work…she quickly took her bath and rushed up to Marcel’s place.
she knocked hurriedly on the door and Marcel came to open up for her.
CLARISSA
Good morning, sorry for waking you up
MARCEL
Good morning, where are you up to this early?
CLARISSA
one of my boy called me, I think his having problem with the job I gave him, I nee-d to go there.
MARCEL
alright, please remember we have a party to attend
CLARISSA
I won’t forget, I will be home on time, I just say I should inform you before I leave.
MARCEL
Alright, do take care of yourself and have a nice day
CLARISSA
I will and you too
she said and turn to leave but Marcel grabbed her hand and turn her over to face him, he gave her a peck on the forehead…. clarissa became old as ice, she didn’t expect the peck, she smiled at him and started to walk towards her car shyly.
kimberly woke up with a serious headache, she rushed into the bathroom and vomited, she had had too much to drink the previous night, she manage to get up, she brushed her teeth and took her bath then returned back to bed, she was in no mood to eat or talk to anyone.
she was feeling sick but she didn’t care about her health, all she wanted was for Derrick to explain to her how clarissa is a better woman and she’s not.
