SAME DAY
Mirabella sat in her chamber, her eyes were filled with tears and anger, she kept dialling a number but it kept saying number unavailable, after so many attempt she throw the phone away in anger and screamed frustration.
“Marcel, I’m very sure you are in this country, keep running I’m very sure one day luck will run out on you and I will get you, and God help you I see you with any woman you will taste the fury of my anger”
she yelled and opened a pack of cigarettes, she took one from inside, put it in her mouth and lights it before she started to inhale it.
Her mother queen Monica came in at that moment and met her only child smoking and crying.
QUEEN MONICA
oh my God Mira, what’s going on here?
(but got no answer from Mira)
QUEEN ELIZABETH
I’m talking to you, what is going on here
MIRABELLE
Mum, I’m telling you and my father the king that Marcel is in this town, his running because he doesn’t want to perform my marriage rights but non of you will believe me.
QUEEN MONICA
(she sat beside her daughter)
because it’s difficult to believe that queen Elizabeth and king Mason would he aware that their son is in this country and would dare lie to us.
MIRABELLE
They are not aware, but I promise you mum, I’m going to do everything within my reach to find marcel.
QUEEN ELIZABETH
If you are right that Marcel never left this country for the state then he has really crosses the line and would have it hot with me.

QUEEN MONICA
Don’t worry yourself my princess, the Mason’s family will not dare embarras-s us….never……now I want you to put that cigar away and wipe your face, you are a princess such act is not supposed to be
seen around you….don’t let your father the king see you like this.
MIRABELLE

the mother moved closer to her and placed her head on her thi-ghs petting her at the back.
Derrick and Kim talked and talked till late hours in the night, to them it was a beautiful evening, they enjoyed each other’s company so well that they lost track of time.
It was the call of Mrs Elizabeth that made Derrick to realized time has far gone
he took his phone to check who was calling, his eyes poped opened immediately he saw the time, he immediately answered his mother’s call.
DERRICK
hello mum, good evening
MRS ELIZABETH
what’s good about the evening Derrick? it’s always 12:00am, why are you still out by this time?
DERRICK
Sorry mum, I lost track of time, I will head home soon.
MRS ELIZABETH
God, what is going on with my sons….how can you act so irresponsible
DERRICK
common mum, I said I will head home now, no point being dramatic please.
(He said and hung up)
KIMBERLY
It looks like mama is mad at you
(she said rolling her eyes)
DERRICK
yup, seems we lost track of time, I guess I have to take my leave now.
KIMBERLY
do you live near by
DERRICK
no, I come from a neighboring town
KIMBERLY
(Confuse)
but you work here, so why are you not living here, and you come from a neighboring town everyday to work? isn’t it stressful?
DERRICK
not when I’m playing my music….beside Lagos is a crazy town it’s difficult to live in.
KIMBERLY
But you work here, which means you like Lagos money
DERRICK
(He chuckled)
I will admit yes, but the craziness is just too much.
KIMBERLY
okay ooh, but it’s late, why not stay over tomorrow you can just go.

Derrick didn’t want Kim to start feeling he was a mummy’s boy or couldn’t take decision for himself so he had to agree to it.
He taxted his mother that it was too late for him to drive home that he would be back first thing in the morning.
Mrs Elizabeth knew Derrick was with a woman, only a woman can make a man stay out late and even refuse to come home….she thought of what to do to find out who this, who are parents are and what caliber of people they are,
because over her dead body will she allow any of her children pick girls from the street and present to her as brides.
DERRICK
alright, I’m staying
Kim excitedly jumped on him and accidentally their li-ps met, they both ki-ssed for a few seconds because the breathe coming from the both of them was sweet and beautiful, Derrick was the first to pull away, his feeling were different because it was his first time ever having to ki-ss a lady, in his kingdom male children are well principled than the female, it’s common for a lady to not be a V¡rgin, but the male are trained to stay faithful, clean, because it is believe that a man that sleeps around builds a bridge that can not only destroy homes but kingdoms, so their men are trained to remain V¡rgins till they pick a bride.
a V¡rgin man can marry a lady that is not a V¡rgin, the gods allows it, but a sacrifice has to be made to clean the land if a man meets a woman before marrying her.
only the crown prince of the kingdom is allowed to marry a V¡rgin, it’s not a crime if a lady decide to keep her V¡rginity, but it brings them not much dignity like it does to the male.
Derrick has never been close to any woman, because of fear of having to go before one goddess and present sacrifice for ki-ssing a woman or having s-×….some time he hated why he had to come from a kingdom as dumb as this, but he has no choice and as a prince he must do his best not to disappoint his family..

KIMBERLY
I’m sorry about that, I will just go upstairs and arrange your room
she said and got up, she took just a step when Derrick grabbed her arms and pulled back for a another round of hot ki-ss, Kimberly was surprised, she pulled away from him this time to see his face again, this time it was confusion she saw on the face but burning desi-res.

After a long round of ki-ss Kimberly expected Derrick to take another step but Derrick was a confuse man, it was his first time being inti-mate with a woman, he doesn’t know what to do, beside the ki-ssing was so interesting that he didn’t even know that something else could taste better that it.

The next morning Derrick noticed how cold Kim was towards him, he tried to get her to talk but she kept saying nothing, he had to leave because his mother has already given him more than twenty miss calls.
Immediately Derrick entered the living room he was welcomed with a very dirty slap on the cheeks.
DERRICK

MRS ELIZABETH
Shut that hole you call a mouth….. Derrick, have you started having s-×?

Mrs Elizabeth’s was wild open, she couldn’t believe all this was coming from her innocent and obedient son, that moment her furry grew in thousand, she couldn’t wait to get her hands on the girl that has turn her son against her.
MRS ELIZABETH
Go to your room, this discussion is far from over, your dad is in his throne room with his cabinets, I will tell him all you have said after the meeting.
DERRICK
I don’t care what you do mum.
(He started to walk away then stopped but didn’t turn to face his mother)
And this should be the last time you ever lay your hands on me, if you ever try it, I might as well desert this family just as your son has.
he said and walked away leaving his mother in total shock and disbelief.
Mrs Elizabeth wanted to run mad, for six months now she hasn’t heard from her son, and now her last child is acting crazy, she thought of what to do.
Later that day Derrick tried calling Kim but she refused to pick his calls, he called and called till he got tired then he sent her a text “what’s up babe, I have been trying to reach you and you ain’t answering, hope everything is okay? I noticed how cold you were towards me this morning, did I do anything bad to upset you? please reply me”
he sent and waited for close to an hour before her reply came “nothing is wrong”
was the only reply Kim sent to him.
A WEEK LATER
Marcel and Derrick went out to have a drink, it’s been a while they hang out since their mother was monitoring them they had to put a stop to their meeting.
A bottle of wine was placed in front of them with a plate of spice meat each.
Marcel noticed how unhappy his younger brother looks
MARCEL
okay, spill what’s going on with you?
DERRICK
how do you mean?
MARCEL
You know I know you right? and I know when you ain’t happy…. what’s going on?
DERRICK
(He sipped his wine and try to fake a smile)
I’m okay bro, I’m just tired of mum breathing down my ne-ck all the time about keeping my V¡rginity.
He said angrily and with a loud voice that Marcel had to eye him and he calmed down
MARCEL
I don’t un-derstand, why is your V¡rginity becoming a problem all of a sudden?
DERRICK
like i know? you know the kind of mother you have, she said I keep late night and that only a woman can make a man stay out late.
MARCEL
(he still look confuse)
you know home is a little far from Lagos, which I have advise you serverally to relocate to Lagos but you won’t saying Lagos is a crazy town to live in and you prefer home….so, since you like driving from home to Lagos everyday go work, why ain’t you closing early after you are the boss?
DERRICK
who said I wasn’t closing early? I was always hanging out with Kim
MARCEL
(Surprised again)
Kim? like clarissa’s cousin?
DERRICK
yeah.
MARCEL
How come you both became that close?
DERRICK
It just happened
