Next morning…
Brina woke up earlier than Louis.
Louis is obediently sleeping on his side. He even placed a barrier of pillows between them, worried that he would lose control.
Brina chuckled when she saw him holding on to his blanket ti-ghtly. He looked so cute playing all these antics…
Brina kis-sed him on his forehead and Louis immediately smiled in his sleep. She chuckled again and decided to cook for him but remembered that she had to take bed rest, she pretended to sleep.
By the time Louis woke up, Brina was still asleep. So, deciding not to disturb her, Louis cooked breakfast, got ready and went to his meeting.
He didn’t forget to write a note to her and stick it to the bedside table.

Brina woke up when her stomach growled. It is already eleven in the morning.
“I slept for twelve hours continuously” Brina spoke to herself and then she remembered what all had happened yesterday. ‘Ahh.. this isn’t a dream ,’ she thought.
Caressing her tummy, she thought, ‘Good morning baby. Let’s investigating who tried to trick your mom’
Saying so, she slowly woke up and freshened up. All her movements are so cautious and gentle like air.
After having her brunch, she is resting on the couch, thinking of all the possibilities of how this would have happened.
In meanwhile, afternoon, Natalie came.
“Louis on an urgent matter. He wouldn’t be coming to have lunch with you, so mom invited you to have lunch with her” Natalie informed.
“Thanks, Nat.” Brina said.
“I got your text and I am going to country S now” Natalie said.
“Oh”
“I wanted you to pa-ss these tonics to Rhianna. She said she would test them” Brina said.
“I suspect that I got tricked into getting pregnant by someone desperate. And, the only source of adding that antidote into my daily system is this, the tonics” she added.
“Ah! Whoever did this, they must be from the Royal family. I wonder who it could be” Natalie said. “But do you think it’s mom?” she asked in shock.
Elora wouldn’t do that.
She is good.
But who knows what lies behind the facade of every human?
“I am not sure yet, Nat. My main suspect is Greta” Brina said.
“That old geese?” Natalie asked. “But she wants you out from here. Why would she do this? I mean, this baby stabilises your position here” she said.
Brina chuckled.
“I told you that Greta got blackmailed right?” she asked.
“Uh.. hmm” Natalie answered. “Ethan said, she did some horrifying things”
“You wanna know what they are?” Brina asked.
“Yeah”
“Greta is actually a second wife of the old King. He married her because his first wife couldn’t produce an heir and when tested, she was proved incapable of giving birth” Brina said.
“So, King married Greta and shortly after that, but his first wife died. She did sucide”
“I heard the story,” Natalie said.
“But what Ethan found out is that this isn’t the real story. The real story is dark and vicious” Brina said. Ethan and Brina worked together to investigate the real truth.
However, Ethan didn’t tell Brina the real story yet. He said, it’s better not to be told because the story was too inhumane. As it was already in the past, there is nothing much to discuss about it.
Their main motive was to know why Greta is getting blackmailed. So, he didn’t want that story to sidetrack their main objective m.
“When I asked him, Ethan said it would worry me a lot and that it is better not to be known.” Natalie pouted.
“I suggested to him not to tell you, Nat. If the story was that troublesome and disturbing, it would greatly effort your minds. At that time, you are still in meds, so I didn’t think you were ready to face the harshness these Royal families hold.” Brina answered.
“So, are you going to meet Ethan and ask him now?” Natalie asked.
“Yep” Brina answered.

After having lunch with Queen Elora, Brina went to meet Ethan.
When Brina arrives at his office, Ethan is in the middle of the meeting with the next leaders of the noble families. Katherine, her brother, Amelia and her brother, Daniel, Kiara, Rebecca…
“Brina?” Ethan was shocked.
“Hi, brother in law, I am here to talk about something important,” Brina said. For the first time, calling him brother in law.
Ethan was surprised but of course, in front of others they would show respect to each other. Otherwise, they are like friends..
Calling each other with names.
“Now?” he asked.
“Yes” Brina insisted.

“What happened? Louis told me that you were too worried. Is it because Griffin and Natalie know each other?” Ethan asked.
They are now sitting in the study room which is sound proof.
“No, of course not. It’s actually good that they met, Ethan. Even though they doesn’t know that they are siblings, their bond is as beautiful as siblings love”
“But it seems like he doesn’t know to whom Natalie got married. So they might not be that close” Brina added.
“Yes, moreover, they met throu-ghhis wife, Seline. As Nat and Seline worked in the same industry it is common that they know each other” he said. “That could be coincidence”
“I know,” Brina said. Meanwhile, her hands just couldn’t help but rest on her stomach.
She still couldn’t digest the fact that she is pregnant. It is so sudden that it is like a dream to her.
“Then, I presume, you didn’t come here to talk about Nat and your cousin, Griffin” he asked.
“Yes, I came here to ask you something else, Ethan. I want to know what Greta’s real story is,” Brina said.
“No,” Ethan right away rejected. “It’s just too disturbing,” he said.
“You know that the seed I planted was swapped with a dead plant right?” Brina asked.
“What? When?” he asked, shocked.
“Are you living un-der rock, Ethan? It became the day before yesterday” Brina said.
“I really didn’t know, Brina. No one told me about it” he said.
“Not your mistake. Louis suppressed the news that very same day. I thought Nat would have told you” Brina said.
“No. She might have forgotten,” Ethan said.
“She was not there when it happened, so she would have forgotten,” Brina said.
“Yeah, she has been un-der a lot of stress recently. She was not herself for a few days” Ethan said, sighing.
“It could be because today is the last test. If she fails to prove that she is over her trauma, she has to go to therapy again” Brina added. As she has been throu-ghit, she knows how it feels.
“I hope she will get out of this soon. It was all my fault. I left her alone when she needed me the most” Ethan said, his face filled with guilt.
“Hey, that’s fine. At last you both are together, right?” Brina comforted him.
Ethan smiled gratefully. “Yes. Thanks to all of you. Otherwise” he couldn’t complete it but shiver.
“Back to the point. Your plant died and then-?” he asked.
Brina narrated everything to him.
“The thing is, Louis said that the same happened to your grandfather’s first wife. He told me that her plant died and she couldn’t give birth as well. He said that this has made everyone believe more in this foolish tradition” she added.
“But, why am I feeling like Greta has her hands in that accident too? She would do the same as what she has done to me” Brina asked.
“So, that’s the reason Louis asked me for the real story too. I think he suspected the same. I told him I will tell him about it, tonight” Ethan said.
“Oh”
“Now, the real story please” Brina asked, anxious.
“You shouldn’t have to worry that the same will happen to you.” Ethan nonchalantly said.
“Why?” Brina asked.
“Because, you got your shot.” he said.
“So?” Brina asked, now totally alarmed and guarded.
A bead of sweat trickled down her forehead.
“That means you aren’t pregnant, that’s why” he said.
Brina froze. Her fingers started to shiver and her whole body felt like it lost its energy.
But, she composed herself and managed to ask.
“But I want to know the story!” Brina insisted.
“All right. If you are this stubborn, I can’t do anything. Don’t blame me if you feel disturbed because of the story. You ladies are sense-” he got interjected when Brina sternly said, “Story please!”
“OK, here is the story then” he said.
“My grandfather was first married to another woman. He started to like her in bride selection so he married her. It was said that they both loved each other during the event”
“However, my grandmother Greta was desperate to become queen. She came first, however, the King didn’t select her.”
“She got angry, jealous and was extremely envious. Not able to tolerate it anymore, she came up with her own plan of hers to become queen” Ethan said.
“As she was a friend to the Queen she got direct access to the palace. At that time, Five Kingdoms were in peace, so rules were little diluted. And, that have benefited her very much”
“After the wedding of the King and Queen, they went to the honeymoon. And after they came back, like usual, the new couple planted their own seed in the Royal garden”
“However, after a few days it died and many bad rumors about the Queen started spreading. That, she is a bad omen, not compatible and suited to become queen …like that”
“Those rumors were created by my grandmother. However, when she thought that she was winning in her game, she found out that the Queen was actually pregnant”
“That poor queen unfortunately, told this news to Greta. At that time, the Queen didn’t announce it yet. She didn’t even tell her husband that she was pregnant.”
“My grandmother, Greta took this opportunity and used it to her advantage. That time, coincidentally, there was a get together event, a Tea Party for all the ladies.”
“During the party, Greta added some poisonous herbs in Queen’s tea and that caused her a severe bleeding”
