~Complications…~

?CLAIRE?

“You asked to see me.”

“Yes. How have things been going?” She asked with a soft smile on her face.

He shrugged. “Good? Why do you ask to see me?”

“It’s about my niece…”

“The princess?”

She nods. “Yes. I might not be able to protect her forever but I know you can.”

“What do you mean by that? Are you going somewhere?”

She hesitate for a while before saying. “Probably. But I won’t be at ease if Ballerina isn’t in good hands. And obviously you are the only one I can trust for now.”

“Wait, what’s going on? Isn’t your coronation tomorrow? So why exactly are you saying all this?” He asked in confusion.

She reached out for his hand, smiling. “Yes. My coronation is tomorrow and that only signifies one thing…My end.” She paused. “The coronation might not hold but that doesn’t guarantee Ballerina’s safety. Whoever killed my sister and her husband will definitely be after my niece but since I’m the one who is about to fill in the vacant throne…I might be next before her. I don’t want anything to happen to her, she’s the only one who can be able to brimg justice to her late parents death and protect the people from harm.”

He pulled his hand from her grasp and gave her a weird look. “Are you trying to say someone is after your life and the crown princess life…or no, are you trying to say the late king and his wife’s death wasn’t an accident but on purpose?”

“This shows that you are following up. Well, yeah.”

“Ho….how come you never said anything to anybody? This is huge, Claire and the crown princess life isn’t safe.”

“Exactly my point and that’s what brings me to the reason why I called you out here.” She opens her bag and brou-ght out a flash drive then handed it over to him. He collects and stared at it for a while before looking up at her. She could see the questions written on his face as he held the flash drive. “If anything happens to me give that drive to Ballerina, she will need it when the time comes. And make sure she comes to you first.”

“Wait a minute, who are this people that are after you guys? And do you know who killed the late king and queen?”

“i don’t know for sure but I have my suspects…”

?BALLERINA?

*Don’t trust anyone, not even me. Okay?*

Her aunt’s words kept echoing in her head. Should she be worried? Should she be scared? She doesn’t even know what she should feel. And to make matter worse, she was blind and can’t possibly do any fu-cking thing!

Ballerina let out a sigh as she sunk into the ground and leaned her back against the cold wall, she hu-gged her knees to her ch-est, placed her chin on her knee and shut her eyes closed. Her thoughts were moving in circles, her heart were beating really fast and quick, her legs were shaky even her hands. Tomorrow was her aunt’s coronation, she should be happy for that, she should be glad for the fact that her father’s throne will be secured but instead all she could were…fear.

*If anything ever happens to me during the coronation…I want you to be strong. Don’t relent or feel hopeless and don’t ever see yourself as a cursed princess, rather see yourself as someone strong… Be happy. And make sure to detect who killed your parents…*

Ballerina snapped her eyes open at those words. *And make sure to detect who killed your parents…* What does that even mean? Her parents died in a car accident so why did her aunt say something like that? Or could it be…?

“Mom and dad didn’t die because of a car accident, someone had planned out their death.” She whispered to herself as realization struck her. As much as the words sounded so true, Ballerina doesn’t want to still believe it. If really her parents were killed then who did it? And why?

She might not know anything for sure but there is a probability of her aunt knowing something about her parents death.

*Don’t trust anybody…not even me…*

Those were her aunt’s warning to her when she had a-ssumed her to be asleep earlier this morning. Ballerina raised her head off her knees, she clenched her fist tightly, her face were hardened, her look could probably kill right now. The thought of her aunt being her parents murderer scares her to death. She might be able to accept everything thrown at her but one thing…betrayal.

?Naomi?

“You haven’t told him?” Lilian questioned in disbelief.

Naomi shook her head in tears. “I can’t.” She breaths out. “Seeing him like this breaks my heart already, how much worse will it get if I tell him the truth, Lilian? I’m scared to find an answer to that question.”

Lilian let out a de-ep sigh, she went closer to her friend, wrapped her arms around her and pulled her against herself. She began patting her back gently, it was her only way of comforting her broken friend. Every child is meant to bring happiness to their parents especially to their mothers but her friend and her son’s case were different. They were both broken. They needed each other for consolation but yet far away from one another.

“Everything will be fine.” Lilian rea-ssured her friend. This wasn’t the first time she has been saying those word to Naomi but still nothing ever gets better instead they get worse as the day goes. Lilian knows for a fact that her friend was beginning to doubt the word already, even she(Lilian) was also doubting the words.

“It never gets better.” Naomi cried out. She continued sobbing while her friend kept consoling her. Indeed Lilian was a true friend. She was the true definition of a friend in need is a friend indeed.

“Here,” Lilian handed a cup of tea to Naomi. Naomi smiled in appreciation as she collects the cup. Lilian sat down beside her friend, holding her own cup as well. “What’s going on in the movie now?” She asked.

“Well, the man is a jerk. After being caught cheating, he still had guts to slap her. Like come on, who the fu-ck does that?”

After their crying session, Lilian decided to put on a movie for Naomi, she wants her to get her mind off some heartbreaking things…Like the issue going on between her and her son and fortunately it was working quite well for her. At least Naomi wasn’t lamenting or crying again.

“He did not.” Lilian exclaimed.

“He did.” Naomi replied. “Who does that?”

“What did she do?”

“She just stood there like a pile of wood crying. If I were her, I would have slapped him back and I would have doubled mine.”

Lilian laughs. “You are such a drama queen.”

“Oh, please. What man will cheat on his wife and still slap her after being caught by her? That’s craziness.”

“Seems like your late husband never cheated on you.”

Naomi smiled as the thought of her husband came into mind. She can’t forget his smile, his dimples, his eyes, how his ki-ss felt like magic to her, how he cuddles her at night, how he bathed her when she was sick. He was a caring man. He was a perfect husband. But he had his own flaws.

He kept secrets from her. He lied to her. He never involved her in every of his activity. He only told her things he wanted her to know and not things she needed to know. He might’ve not been a cheater but being secretive was worse.

“He never cheated on me…” She breaths out. “But he wasn’t a perfect husband either.” She said with a sigh.

“Why do you say so?” Lilian asked.

She shrugged. “No one is perfect, Lily.” That was her response.

~FLASHBACK~

*What are you looking for?* Naomi asked, walking into the room she shares with her husband. He didn’t answer but kept looking, scattering the whole place and turning the room upside down. *What’s going on here? What exactly are you looking for?* She asked again.

He sighed in frustration and turned to her. *It’s… it’s…did you find any docu-ment around?* He asked her.

*Docu-ment?* She asked in confusion. *What docu-ment are you talking about?*

*It’s…you know what, never mind.* He turned from her and began searching again.

*You can tell me you know maybe I’ve seen it around but can’t just remember.* She said, hoping he could tell her.

*Don’t worry, dear. I’m sure I will find it.* He started making his way out of the room.

*Where are you going?*

*To the study room. Maybe i left it there, I just have to go search there.* He said with a shrug.

*Is this docu-ment very important to you?*

*The docu-ment is able to determine my business and life predicament, babe, so yeah, i guess it’s very important.*

~END OF FLASHBACK ~

Naomi hurriedly stood up to her feet, she grabbed her handbag, dropped the bar-ely touched cup of tea on the table, Lilian stood up as well, she was giving Naomi a weird look.

“What is wrong? Is everything alright?” She asked her friend.

“Lily, I might not be able to remember that night but I do remember something that could probably be of help to the investigation.”

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

?ACE?

“Ace, what if your mom isn’t able to remember that night because she wasn’t actually the one with your dad when he died. What if it was someone else. Probably you.”

“What?” Ace questioned. “What did you just say?”

“It’s just my thought, Ace. Just my thought.”

“Why will you even think about something as stupid as this, Paul? It’s my father we are talking about here. That night means a lot to me, she was the one with father and that’s one reason why I’m asking her to try and remember what actually happened..so….why exactly do you think that?”

Paulo let out a sigh. “I just…your mom doesn’t have amnesia, or does she?” Ace doesn’t answer. Paulo knew just the answer to that question. “If she was really with your dad that night then she would have remembered one or two things concerning that night.”

“What if she doesn’t want to just say anything? She never loved dad in the first place. She was always complaining about every little thing he does. And how the fu-ck wouldn’t I be able to remember that night if I really was the one with him?”

“I…like I said earlier, it was just my thoughts.” Paulo stared down at the phone of the late man on the table. “But have you ever come across this Mr Anthony before?”

“I don’t even know what he looks like. Dad never mentioned him to me while he was still alive.”

“I think we need to investigate about him then. For his name to appear on this hide app, then he’s one of this two options; A friend or an enemy.
