I woke up to the sunlight that flash across my room, trying to adjust to the light I used the shit to block it, I slowly moved the shit away from my face and try to seat up , damn by head hurts, I wonder how I got home yesterday.
After going to that freaking club , I drank more than normal, I was too high and kept vomiting,at least the last Thing I remembered was Jess pulling me out and asking me to stop drinking.
Toasting the shit off my body I place my bare feet on the cold solid floor , and gently made my way to the bathroom.
After freshing up I went back to my room to check the time,damm it’s almost 11 have I been sleeping that long? And …damn, damn damn!!! Am supposed to be at the company ,am supposed to take care of a presentation today , oh my goodness.
Rushing, I quickly creamed my body found a dress and wore it my heels, ear ring , wristwatch, necklace, comb my hair down , picked my handbag, car keys and I rushed from my room .
Yes I didn’t make up , right from time I hardly
make up.
” Miss Thomas where are you going?” Nina the house cook Asked.
“Work of course” I replied.
“But ma’am, your mother said you should rest and not come to the company today ” Nina said .
” How can mom tell you that , am going don’t worry” I said heading out.
“But miss Thomas, it’s an instruction, I don’t want to get fired” she said I rolled my eyes .
” You ain’t getting fired okay stop worrying yourself Nina ” I told her and rushed out of the mansion.
Getting Into my car I set it on gear and off i go .
Once i reached the company, a car was driving out but I couldn’t see the person inside , after i pulled inside the company.
I rushed into the building, I got Into the elevator and made my way to the 5th floor .
“Good morning miss Thomas” Angela our secretary greeted .
“Morning Angela did anyone come to look for me? I asked.
” No ” she replied.
“But has anyone come here to look for anyone ?” I asked
It seems as if she was thinking before she nodded .
” Yes actually Mr Rodriguez came to see your mother “she says and my eyes widen , why will Mr Malcolm come to see mom? Or is it because of business.
“Wait,ummm…which of the Rodriguez?” I asked trying to clarify .
“Mr Marion Rodriguez” She replied and my eyes widen , what is Marion doing coming to see my mom?
“Was it a meeting?” I asked.
“I don’t think so miss” she replied.
“Oh okay then , you may go” I told her she nodded and left .
Why did Marion come to see my mom? Did he come to tell her we didn’t have the meeting yesterday? What’s going on, reaching her office door I pulled it open, once she saw me she smiled.
” Darling you came” she stood up and we hugged .
” Yes mom” I replied.
“But i told Nina not to let you bother coming,you weren’t feeling too well yesterday” she said touching my hair.
” Yeah mom but I couldn’t just stay home and besides, it would had been boring for me ” I said she smiled.
” Okay dear ” she said , I decided to ask her about Marion.
” Umm mom, what was Mr Rodriguez son doing here?” I asked .
“Oh you saw him ?” She asked .
” Yeah ,.but then he was driving out” I replied. She went to seat back on her chair as I watched her .
“I asked him to come because I wanted to have a little chat with him ” she replied looking at me .
And that instant I knew my mom must have done something.
“What? … please mom , what did you discuss with him ?” I asked nervously.
” That you would see him tomorrow” she simply replied.
My eyes widen .
“No sh*t Sherlock, mom why would you say that to him , you know I won’t go ” I said angrily.
” I will make you go” she said sternly my eyes widen .
” Common mom , you know what happened between us and you set me up with him ?” I asked getting angry at mom.
” That’s the point Gwen, don’t you think it’s high time you go and listen to him, and find out all the answers to your questions?” She asked
I couldn’t help but stare at her quietly., She stood up and held my hand pulling me towards her office couch
” Seat darling and let’s talk” she said and i gently sat down with her seating beside me .
“I know your not happy about what I have done , but it’s for the best child , now let me tell you something you do not know, when I told you about your dad accusing me of being a prostitute, they were so many things I didn’t mention” she said and i got curious to know.
” What must that be mom? I aksed .
” Your father Tony,was really a nice man when I met him, we were so close and became good friends, he always buys me anything I asked for, he was the perfect man I wanted” she said smiling.
“We started dating later about 5, weeks and i got pregnant of you , your father was so happy and wanted to marry me immediately but my family were against it, at that time my father was Willing to disown me if I choose Tony over him, my mom was Caring she understood my love for Tony was just too much to let go , yet I still try all I could to fight our relationship so we could be together , at that time I was already 2 months pregnant” mom said and took in a de-ep breath .
“Tony promised me he wouldn’t leave me for anything, although he was so poor and hardly could fend for himself but he was a very hardworking man which made me madly in love with him, at that time nothing anyone says could change my mind about him ” mom said sniffing and I think she’s about to cry .
” One day Tony changed , I was already confused I didn’t know what happened to him and when I asked him what’s wrong with him he asked me to stay away from him, I tried all I could to know why he suddenly shunned me,he later told me I could give birth to the Baby and leave he didn’t care about me , I was shocked, but I know de-ep down Something was wrong with him” she signed.
” That night we both had a very big fight , him telling me he didn’t love me anymore but I didn’t go anywhere, he left me all alone in his house but yet I waited for him , he came back the next morning looking so out of place I helped him to bed he told me that he still loves me but my father was threatening to ruin his family and him , to make them so poor
than they already are and he will make sure they all die one after the other , he was crying badly and couldn’t believe my Dad could do such a thing,i confronted him and he slapped me across the face and called me a prostitute,he disowned me and mom wept bitterly trying to help me but he wouldn’t allow it ” she said her tears pulling down as I held her hand , I can’t believe she went throu-ghall this because of her love for dad , then why did he leave her .
“Tony had no problem he accepted me to stay with him and we could get married and work together to welcome you into the world, after I gave birth to you Tony loved you so much that he mostly carried you ,I could see it in his eyes how happy he was to be a father ” she said smiling.
“We lived happily together and we were one happy family untill one day , a woman showed up she was heavily pregnant, she asked after your father and I told her I was his wife and why did she wanted to see him, the news she gave me broke my heart , she told me your father is responsible for her pregnancy, I was
shocked i couldn’t believe it and i was broken “she said and i gasped .
How could dad get another woman pregnant?How could he hurt mom like this ? I couldn’t help but cry too squeezing moms hand urging her to continue.
” When he came back, he didn’t even deny it he accepted it that he really got her pregnant,but it was a mistake that the time we had that argument he had gone to the club and got drunk and mistakenly slept with the lady whom happened to be a prostitute, that he was ashamed of him self and couldn’t bring himself
to tell me What he had done , that some few weeks later she met him and said she was pregnant and had been looking for him, ” she wiped her tears .
” I don’t know Gwen but I forgave him on only one condition, the lady won’t live in the same house as us ,your dad agreed” she chuckled,but I knew de-ep down she wanted to shout out loud .
” After you turned six your Dad started acting strange,he comes home Late and sometimes hit me so ha-rd each time I confront him, I knew something was up but just didn’t know What one day he suddenly accused me of cheating on him and that’s why I don’t let him touch me at night , I was shocked, it wasn’t like he had any evidence of what he was saying i thought he was in sane but he was serious, he accused me of cheating on him and accused me that I want to take you away from him , that he knows my
plane’s to take you away from him , I was so mad at him and called him a mad man, he hit me so ha-rd on the face and i had to run because at that moment he could k*ll me , he said he regretted marrying me that your the only thing he has grown to love so much but
am taking you away from him and he wouldn’t let me , he said his bringing the lady to live with us ,I couldn’t take it I declined it and he asked me to pack my things and go but you aint leaving, right there I knew someone must had told your father Something about me” she cried.
“Mom who is this woman that got pregnant for dad? I asked tears in my eyes.She took in a de-ep breath.
” It’s Emily” she said and my eyes widen I was so shocked.
“Susan is your blood sister , your father is her father Gwen” she said and my eyes popped out of the socket.
Aunty Emily? So Susan was my blood , I thought she was another man’s child , oh my goodness, why didn’t father ever told me .
He lied to me that Susan wasn’t his child , why would he lie?
