( KIDNAPPED/ MISSING )

Diamond slowly stood up, furrowing her brows at the two boys standing in front of her.

“Who are you?” She asked, taking in their appearance. They were not from the hospital.

“You have two choices, Miss. You either voluntarily come with us or we force you to come with us.” One of them said.

“What?”

“That is not in the option, beauty. Make your choice fast. We don’t have all day to waste.” The other one stated.

Diamond took a step back, holding her hands out, switching to her defense mode.

“Who sent you? Let me guess, Lottie?” She narrowed her eyes.

“That is also not in the_”

“fuc-k that shit. Who sent you to kidnap me? Was it Lottie?” She asked again, using her eyes to look around for help.

“What if I said yes, huh?” The one who first spoke said.

Diamond swallowed nothing, fear taking the better part of her.

She needs help. Only she can’t take down these two boys. They are stronger than her in both strength and physique.

She could easily trick them because they both look stupid but other than that she was helpless.

fuc-k , she wish her boss was here with her.

She wish she didn’t say anything stupid to push him away from her.

How will she escape these boys?

The garden is as quiet as a graveyard, no one will hear her if she screams for help.

“Joel, I don’t think she will want to come with us voluntarily. Let’s just drag her with us.”

“I think that’s a good idea.” Joel agreed and attempted grabbing Diamond’s arm but she dodged him and started running towards the hospital building.

“What the fuc-k !?” Denise gro-aned and started pursuing the girl whilst Joel followed from behind. “Stop running.”

“Get away from me.” She yelled, almost getting to the building when Lottie suddenly popped up from nowhere – In front of Diamond.

“Long time no see, nanny.” She said with a devious smirk on her face.

Diamond glanced back and found the boys already behind her.

She was surrounded and there is no place to run to.

“What do you want?” She asked breathlessly.

“What could I possibly need from you, huh? I told you to stay away from him, didn’t I?”

“I… Is that why you tried to kill me?”

“Tried to?” She cackled, shaking her head. “You should have been dead, bit-ch . My aim was to kill you and make you disappear from the surface of this world.”

“Because of a man? That’s crazy. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

“I am ready to do anything for Mikhail. He is my life. My happiness. The reason why I am still alive. I can’t do without him, you know? So yes, I will kill millions of people for his sake! Call it crazy, I don’t bloody give a fuc-k .”

“He doesn’t love you, can’t you see it? You can’t impose love on someone. If he wants you, he would have chosen you instead of sleeping with me.”

Lottie released a ha-rd slap in Diamond’s face.

“Do you know the mistake you made?” She stepped close to the nanny, tilting her head to the side. The de-ep cut on her cheekbone that she inflicted on herself earlier ago was still left open and unattended. “You opened your legs for a man that isn’t yours!”

“Mikhail is not an object, okay? He has every fuc-k ing right to choose whoever he wants. Me? You? Or probably someone else. Who gives a fuc-k ?”

“You think I am here for jokes, don’t you?” She laughed evilly, folding her arms over her chest. “By the time I am done with you… In your next life, you won’t chase after someone else’s man.”

As soon as Lottie said those words, Denise hit Diamond’s head from behind and she lost consciousness immediately.

“Pick her up and let’s get out of here,” Lottie said and started walking away, having a smug look on her face.

«MORNING ★ IN THE WARD»

“Rise and shine, beauty!” Zara said excitedly as she entered the room.

“Diamond?” She called out when she found the bed empty.

A frown plastered her face as she went to check the bathroom, under the bed, and other corners of the room.

There was no sign of her best friend.

“Where is she? Let me call her phone,” Zara pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed Diamond’s number.

The buzzing of a phone filled the empty room, grabbing Zara’s attention.

The frown on her face de-epened when she stepped closer to the hospital bed and found Diamond’s ringing on the bedside table.

“Huh? Where did this girl go without her phone? Shit, she always gets me so worried and work up. I should ask the guards, maybe they know where she went to.”

Zara opened the door and walked outside.

“Good morning,” She greeted them, smiling.

“Good morning,” They replied, smiling back at her.

“So, uhm, do you know where my friend went to?”

“Your friend?” One of them repeated, looking a little bit confused.

“Yeah… Miss Chase, as you all call her.”

“Oh. Wait, is she not inside the room?” The second guard asked.

Zara shook her head.

“No. I’ve looked around but she’s not in there. I guess you should check outside, maybe she stepped out to receive fresh air or something.”

They all nodded their heads in agreement and walked away.

Zara heaved out a de-ep breath, running her fingers throu-ghher hair.

“This girl is going to be the death of me. Where did she go without her damn phone? Doesn’t she know this is not the time to wander around and admire the beauty of nature? Gosh!”

“Good morning, babe.” Sean cut throu-ghher thoughts, appearing from behind.

She turned around to face him and smiled.

“Good morning, babe.”

They both kis-sed.

“How was your night?” He asked, pushing a strand of hair from her face to the back of her ear.

“Fine. I was so tired that I slept like a log of wood.”

He laughed. “You are so funny.”

“Where are you heading to?” She asked.

He shrugged and pointed at a ward a mile away from where they stood.

“There,”

“Hm. You have a patient waiting for you there?”

“Yeah. You know, I think it is high time you go back to work. Won’t your boss get tired and fire you?”

She rolled her eyes, “He won’t. I am the life of the company.”

“Is that why you don’t care?”

“What are you saying?” She playfully hit him on the chest, pouting. “I care about my job, okay? Don’t ever say I don’t care.”

“I’m sorry.”

“See, I love my job so much, and keeping away from work isn’t initially my plan. I’m just… You know, worried about Diamond. She needs me now more than ever.”

“I get it. I shouldn’t have judged you like that.”

“You shouldn’t have.”

He chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“I’m sorry once again.”

“Hmm. Okay. You should go to your patient, doc. Don’t keep them waiting.”

“Yeah, right. But can I at least get a kis-s from my beautiful girlfriend?”

She pretends to be de-ep in thought and then shrugged.

“I don’t see why not.”

He leaned over and kis-sed her once again on the li-p.

“I love you.”

“I love you too. Now go.” She pushed him away from her.

“Alright. I will be coming over to check up on Diamond.”

“Okay. Ah, that reminds me,”

“What is it?”

“Have you seen her this morning?”

“Diamond?” Zara nodded her head. “No. Is she not in her room?”

“No, she’s not. I’ve looked around but can’t find her. Anyway, I’ve told the guards to look around outside. She might have stepped out to look for a man to fuc-k .”

Sean laughed out loud.

“I trust Diamond to do something like that. But have you tried calling her line?”

“Yup. Unfortunately, she left her phone behind.”

“Tsk. I’m sure they will find her somewhere around. I will be right back. I don’t want to keep my patient waiting.”

“Sure.”

Sean gave out and small wave and left.

Zara sighed and went back into the room to wait for the arrival of the guards and Diamond.

•••••

≤A FEW MINUTES LATER≥

The guards returned without Diamond.

Zara stood up from the hospital bed, looking around for her but she wasn’t with them.

“What is going on? Where is she?”

They all bowed their heads.

“We couldn’t find her.”

“What? What does that even mean? You couldn’t find her? Does that make any sense at all? How can you not find her? Did you look around the whole place like the garden, parking lot, cafeteria, every damn place? Did you?” She panicked her heart racing more than usual.

“Yes,” They answered, daring not to look her in the eyes.

“Yes?” She repeated, her body began to tremble as she dropped her phone on the bed and started checking the room over again.

There is no way her best friend has gone missing. It doesn’t even make sense.

“Diamond?” She called out, searching everywhere.

There was no sign of Diamond.

Zara walked back to the guards and grasp the shirt of the first person that her hand could easily reach out to.

“Where is my friend? She was left under the three of you care, where is she?”

“We’ve checked around for her, Miss. We don’t know where she went to.”

“What do you mean by you don’t know where she went to? You were hired and laid to look after her for Pete’s sake! Where is she?”

The door opened and Sean walked in.

“Babe, what is the matter?” He rushed towards her and tried pulling her hand from the guard’s shirt.

“Diamond is missing.” She told him, tearing up.

“What?”

Sean faced the guards.

“How is that possible? You were all guarding her ward, right? How could she have gone missing right under your noses?” He queried.

“She had stepped out of the room with our boss last night and come to think of it, she never returned.”

“Your boss… Yes, that’s it. I left your boss with her last night. Could she have escaped here with him? Maybe she pleaded with him to take her home?” Zara asked no one in particular but she hope that was the case.

“I… I don’t know. But that could be possible.” They said.

“Do you have his number? What am I even asking, I don’t care if you do, just call him in whichever way you can.”

“Okay.”

Zara started pacing back and forth, tugging at her hair.

“Babe, calm down. I’m sure she is fine.”

“I can’t calm down, Sean. I am scared. What if something bad has happened? Her life is already in danger. That female psychopath is out there, remember? What if she has come for Diamond when everyone was asleep? What if_”

“Shh. Stop thinking about the negativity. She will be fine, believe me.” He a-ssured, holding her in place.

She buried her face into his chest, crying loudly.

“I’m scared, Sean. I’m so scared. I won’t be able to forgive myself if anything bad happens to her.”

“Have you called Ayden yet?”

Zara shook her head, pulling back from her boyfriend.

“I should call him,”

“Don’t worry. I will call him. You are not in the right state of mind.”

«DIEGO’S HOUSE»

“That’s very funny,” Rosa said in between laughter.

“I know, right?” Layla agreed, laughing as well.

“But it is also amazing.”

“Yeah…”

They quietly sipped from their gla-sses of orange juice, smiling warmly.

“So tell me, Rosalie,” Layla began as she cleared up her throat. “Do you have a boyfriend?”

“Boyfriend? Uhm, no. Why are you asking?”

“Nothing. I just wanted to know.” It was silent between them but Layla spoke up once again. “What do you think about Felix?”

Rosa almost choke on her juice. She was taken aback by that sudden question.

“Excuse me?”

“Sorry. I should have given you a notice before blurting out a serious question like that.”

“Uh, It’s fine, I guess. You don’t have to apologize. I’m just surprised you are asking me that, that’s all. And I was least expecting it.”

“Okay. So answer me. What do you think about my friend?”

“Uhm…” She chuckled, nervously, fiddling with her fingers. “In what aspect?”

“I don’t know. Every aspect. Maybe as a friend, or something more.”

Rosalie bites her bottom li-p, facing the floor as she thought about it.

First of all, her friend asked her to make a choice between Felix and Jerry and now, Layla called her over this morning to ask her what she feels for Felix.

Were all these planned out or what?

“He is a friend.” She answered after a while.

“Just a friend? You do not feel anything for him?” Layla queried, raising a questioning brow.

They got distracted by the knocking on the door.

“I should go and check_” Rosalie attempted to stand up but Layla stopped her.

“You don’t have to. Daria will get the door.”

“Oh, yeah. I forgot you had a maid now.” She sat down back on the couch, swallowing nothing.

“Daria, check who is at the door, please.”

“Okay, ma.”

Daria stepped out of the kitchen and went to get the door.

“Si… Sir?” The maid was beyond shock to see her boss standing in front of the door, holding a backpack.

“Am I not allowed into my house again?” He co-cked a brow.

“Huh? No… I mean, yes. Please come in.” She ushered, making a way for him to walk throu-gh.

He entered the house and she quickly collected the backpack from his grasp.

“Where is_” Diego got interrupted by Layla’s words of surprise.

“Diego?” She stood up, her face lighting up immediately.

“Hi.” He walked towards the two ladies and shoved his hands into his pan-ts pocket. His gaze fell upon Rosa. “Sorry, who are you?”

“I’m sorry. I should introduce myself. Hi. I’m Rosalie. A friend to Layla.”

“A friend? I didn’t know Layla had any other friends aside from…” He hesitated. “Felix.”

Nobody said anything.

“I’m Diego. Her husband.” He stretched out his hand for a handshake.

“Nice to meet you, Diego.”

“plea-sure is all mine.” He smirked.

Rosa picked up her handbag from the couch, reading the room to know that she is not supposed to be there at this point.

“I should get going now.” She announced.

“Are you leaving because of me?” He asked her.

“No, no, no. Not at all. I should leave you to your wife. I know you two have a lot to catch up on. See you later, Layla.”

“Later, hun.”

They both hug-ged.

“See you again, Diego.”

“Hmm.”

She waved and left the house.

Diego glanced at his wife and then moved his eyes to her stomach.

“How have you been?” He questioned.

“Fine. I didn’t expect you had come.” She murmured.

“Me too. I didn’t imagine I will ever come back here. Let’s sit and talk. What do you say about that?”

“Of course.”

«MIKHAIL’S ROOM»

Mikhail walked out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around his waist.

He headed to the walkthrou-ghcloset but got interrupted by a knock on the door.

He gro-aned, knowing fully well who it was that is knocking.

“Come in, Marcello.”

The door opened and Marcello entered, looking very worried over something.

“What is it?” He asked his right-hand man.

“A call just came in,”

“From who?”

“One of the guards from the hospital.”

Mikhail stop with whatever he was doing and paid more attention.

He has not been himself since he left the nanny like that last night.

He felt so bad and… angry with himself.

Was she okay? He has been asking himself that same question all throu-ghthe night.

He hoped she is okay, but if one of the guards called this morning, does that mean something is wrong?

“What happened?” He questioned, having a sharp look on his face.

Marcello swallowed nothing, clenching and unclenching his fist.

He hesitated before saying, “Miss Chase is missing.”

“What?”

«IN THE WARD»

Ayden stormed inside the house alongside Lake, Rhodes, and Elodie.

They were all breathless.

“Where is Diamond?” Elodie asked as soon as she entered, looking around. “Where is my daughter?”

Zara was crying uncontrollably.

“She is missing.” She cried out.

Elodie dropped to the floor and started crying.

“No! Please no.”

“Honey,” Rhodes tried touching her but she pushed him away.

“Don’t touch me. Where is my daughter? Tell me.” She clutched his collars.

“Elodie, I am going to look for her, I promise you.” He said.

“Get out of my sight. I hate you. This is all your fault. I told you to report the attempted murder case to the police but you refused. You fuc-k ing refused. This is all your fault.”

“Attempted murder?” Lake repeated, staring at the couples. “What are you talking about?”

“Babe,” Ayden called him, holding his hand. “there is something you need to know. And I am not telling you these as my boyfriend but as a police officer.”

“I’m all ears.”

«TINY APARTMENT»

Lottie was humming to a tune, drinking from a bottle of beer.

Dennise and Joel stood behind them, both watching her closely while Aria was unconscious by the corner of the basement.

She had a smile of victory plastered on her face.

“I feel so excited. Everything is just going according to plan.” She took the last drop of beer and tossed the empty bottle aside. “Get me a bucket of cold water.”

Joel fetch some water and brou-ght it forward to Lottie.

She collected it from him,

“Let’s wake sleeping beauty.” She poured the whole bucket of water on unconscious Diamond.

She gasped and opened her eyes, breathing heavily.

“Welcome back to the land of the living, princess.” Lottie said, and winked.

Diamond squinted her eyes and looked around, taking in her environment.

“What am I doing here? Get me out of here, Lottie. Are you sick?”

“Hey, calm down. Shouting will do you no good, trust me. Remember you asked me if we’ve met before…” Diamond stayed quiet. “What if I say yes? And what if I’m ready to tell you… or no, show you how we met. Are you ready for the big shock?”

“What are you talking about?”

Lottie smiled and goes hands on her hip.

“I warned you that if you crossed my path, I was going to make a deal with the devil, remember?” She grinned. “I already did. And you know who this devil is. It’s a surprise I made for you. Because my dear nanny, I’ve just brou-ght your past into your present.”

The door creaked open and a hulk man walked in, taking one step at a time.

Diamond narrowed her eyes curious to see the face of this ‘devil’ Slowly, he came into view. A dark smirk clouded his face.

“Hello, angel. I told you I will always come for you, didn’t I?” He tilted his head to the side.

Diamond’s breathing picked up and little by little, everything started falling into place.

Memories began flooding back,

and the past she thought she had buried uprooted itself,

she can’t run away from it,

the past is here….
