Ann was in her room, crying when Sasha walked in.
“Mum things went so bad with Ross and ….mum, are you crying ?!” She said, quic-kly rushing to her be-d side. She sat by her and wra-pped her hands around her.
“Mum, why are you crying?” she asked and her mum ignored her and continued to cry.
“Does this have anything to do with dad? I’ve never seen you cry unless it has something to do with him. Mum is it him?” She asked and she nodded.
“What happened?”
“He called me and said a lot of mean things to me and he said he doesn’t want to have anything to do with me again”.
“What? Why will he do that? Is it because of his girlfriend?!”
“She ended things with him and he’s saying it’s my fault that I told her that he still wants me. But I never did anything like that and he didn’t even bother to hear me out”.
“Hmm. I think I know who’s responsible for this”, she said, getting off the be-d.
“Where are you going to Sasha?”
“To put the person behind this on blast!”
“Who?”
“Ross! Her son”
“How did he find out ?”
“We got into an argument and I ended up saying it and I wasn’t expecting him to go and blab to his mum”.
“Sasha, he has every right to tell his mum. Just let it go”.
“Then I’m going to dad’s place”.
“Sasha! St©p it. I just nee-d someone by my side now and not someone fighting for me”, she said and Sasha went back to the be-d side and sat by her.
“I’m sorry mum”.
“It’s fine. Promise me one thing”.
“What?”
“Don’t let this whole thing ruin things with you and Ross”.
“I think it’s too late for that now”.
“Don’t tell me you’ve broken up with him”.
“We’re not d@t!ngofficially so it’s not a break up”.
“Sasha!!! No, you really like him. Don’t end things like that”.
“Okay”.
“Promise me!”
“I promise”.
They talked for a while and Sasha went back to her room to get re-ady for work.

Jenny and some of the workers were in her office ma-king preparations for the dinner when Ralph walked in.
“Hey Jenny can I talk to you for a sec?” Ralph asked her.
“Sure”, she said, stepping out of her office.
“Can you add me to my friend’s table or any other person’s table?”
“We’ve alre-ady made arrangements for a table for two for you and your girlfriend”.
“We broke up last night. I don’t think it’ll be necessary to do that”.
“Oh I’m sorry that happened but it’s unfortunate that we can’t do anything about the arrangements. It’s been fixed”.
“So I’ll just have to sit alone?”
“I can get someone to join you. Maybe Lilian”.
“Why Lilian?”
“You two are close so I’m sure she wouldn’t mind sitting with you”.
“Alright”, he said, smiling and he walked out.

An angry Lilian barged into Jenny’s office.
“Jenny why did I just receive an email that my sitting arrangements have been changed and why am I sitting with Ralph?”
“Woah. I didn’t know that it was going to be a big deal. You two are close why is it such a big deal to the two of you”?
“What do you mean by the two of us”?
“He had this same face when I told him that you’ll be at his table”.
“Of course he should. He has a girlfriend!”
“He hasn’t told you yet?”
“Told me what?”
“That he broke up with his girlfriend last night”, Jennifer said to her and she was shocked.
“I’ll be right back!” She said, rushing to Alicia’s office and pu-lling her to Sasha’s office.
“What’s going on?” Sasha asked.
“Ralph has broken up with her”! She exclaimed.
“Yeah, he told me”, Alicia said to her.
“What happened?” Sasha asked.
“He didn’t go into details just that they fought and it was hvge and they thought that it was best to go their separate ways”.
“Ohh that’s sad. I got to cancel the dinner”, Sasha said to them.
“What? Why?”
“Because he’s going to feel weird being alone at his table”.
“Aww that’s cute but no! I’ve got a h0t d@t£ and I nee-d him to come for this dinner to ru-b it in Mark’s face”.
“Oou, I can’t wait to see him and the look on Mark’s face”, Sasha said wiggling her brows. “But what do we do about Ralph? He can’t sit alone”.
“It’s been taken care of. Jenny changed my sitting arrangements. I’ll be sitting at his table”, Lilian said to her.
“Mmm, we hope you two don’t fight this time”, Alicia said, sm-irking at her.
“I wonder what makes you two fight so much?” Sasha said to her with a questioning look.
“Mmm we all wonder”, Alicia said, grinning.
“Anyway. Is Ross coming?” Lilian said, wiggling her brows and Sasha looked away.
“Mmm, trouble in paradise alre-ady?” Alicia asked.
“Don’t say that”, Lilian said, hitting Alicia in the shoulder.
“We had a hvge fight yesterday and I don’t know how he’ll react to me inviting him for the dinner”, Sasha said.
“Sasha. plea-se don’t ruin this. Just call him and you two can settle whatever the fight was about and then you invite him”, Lilian said to her.
“I don’t know, I’m just…”
“Hi”, Ross said, interrupting them and they were all caught by surprise.
“Hi, we were just leaving”, Lilian said and they both left.
“Hi”, Sasha said to him.
“May I sit?” He asked and she nodded.
“I’m sorry for how things escalated yesterday”, Ross said to her.
“No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have lashed out at you. I keep doing that and I don’t know what’s wrong with me”, Sasha said to him.
“I c@m£ at you ha-rd . I triggered it”.
“Hmm, it still doesn’t give me the right to lash out like that”.
“True. But we’ll work on that”.
“We?” She asked, smiling.
“Yeah and just so you know our parents are not getting married”.
“Mmm, you seem to be happy about it after pu-lling the moral card yesterday”, she said, rolling her eyes.
“It was quite difficult to tell my mum everything but I just had to do it and it resulted in her backing out”.
“Hmm, I see”.
“Yeah”.
“Uhm we have a dinner tonight”.
“Yeah. The work dinner”.
“How do you know about it?”
“Are you that forgetful?”
“Huh?”
“Remember Lilian invited me yesterday when you thought that we were pretending to like each other”.
“Yeah yeah. So you coming?”
“With Lilian? Yeah”, he said, chuckling and she laughed.
“Will you come with me?”
“Are you asking me out on d@t£?” He asked, wiggling his brows.
“Yes Ross. I am”.
“Ugh. That sounded nice to hear. I’ll be there. What time should I pick you up?” He asked.
“7pm. She said and he nodded”.
“See you then and have a nice day”, he said and was about to walk out and she cleared her throat.
“No hvg?” She asked, getting up on her feet.
“I thought you’d never ask”, he said and he walked up to her, hvgged her and k!$$£d her on the cheek.
“Bye Sasha”.
“Bye Ross”, she said blu-shing and he left.
*_Chapter 11_*
The work dinner got everyone in a good mood. The place was dazzling with lights and the peach and white decorations made the whole place look beautiful.
You would think that everyone would be seated eating but as the music blasted throu-gh the speakers, almost everyone moved to the dance floor.
Sasha and Ross were still seated as she was laughing so ha-rd at the jokes he made.
“Everyone seems to be having so much fun”, Ross said, looking around.
“Yeah”, Sasha said, smiling.
“They really nee-ded this. You’re an amazing boss”, he said to her.
“Thank you”, she said, blu-shing.
“Do you want to dance?” He asked her
“No. I’m a bad dancer”, she said to him.
“Oh c’mon. Who’s a good dancer over there?Everyone is just having fun”.
“I would prefer we sit here”, she said to him.
“If you don’t get up, I’m going to carry you the dance floor”, he said.Her eyes wi-de-ned
“You wouldn’t!”
“Dare me”, he said and she laughed.
“You wouldn’t”, she said. He quic-kly got up and lifted her up bridal style.
“Ross!!” She exclaimed as he took her to the dance floor. Everyone st©pped to stare at them and most them laughed when they saw what was happening.
“Mmm, it looks like Sasha is really having fun”, Lilian said to Ralph. They were still seated as others were dancing.
“You did that”, Ralph said to her.
“Well, it’s what friends do”, Lilian said, smiling.
“You’re really an amazing person. Sasha is lucky to have you in her life”.
“We’re all lucky to have each other”.
“Yeah. Do you want to dance?” He asked her and she was surprised.
“You sure?”
“Yeah. Why not? Or do you want me to carry you to the dance floor like Ross?” He asked her and she shook her head.
“I’ll dance but you better be able to keep up”, she said to him.
“Mmm, bring it on”, he said to her. She got up and went to the dance floor.
She went to the middle and started getting her groove on. She danced so well and got everyone’s attention.
“Whooo. Go girl”, Rachel said to her.
Ralph wasn’t surprised. He knew that she was a good dancer.
“Bring it on Ralph”, she said to him. He walked up to her and danced so well too and everyone was surprised.
“Mmm, who knew Ralph could get down like that”, Rachel said to the person next to her.
Lilian and Ralph were still getting it on the dance floor as everyone cheered them on. After a while, the dj switched the music genre to love and blues. All the singles left the dance floor and the couples were in each other’s arms as they swayed and danced to the slow rhythm of the song.
Sasha had her head on Ross’ che-st as they moved to the rhythm of the song.
She was so happy and glad that she had met Ross.

After dinner, the girls and Ralph met at Sasha’s house. They were all at the mini bar at the poolside as they reminisced the dinner.
“Today was so amazing!” Alicia exclaimed.
“Yeah. We saw how things were getting heated between you and your h0t stuff”, Sasha said to her.
“I’m even surprised that you didn’t take it to your house or his”, Rachel said, wi-nking.
“Oh plea-se. I’m not that thirsty”, Alicia said, laughing. “But he’s just so amazing and so fine”.
“Yeah. Where did you buy him from? I’ll like to go to that same shop”, Rachel said, laughing.
“Don’t act like you don’t have men swimming around you and you’ve decided to stick to someone who’s in another planet”, Alicia said and they all laughed.
“Yeah. I like it like that”, Rachel said, rolling her eyes.
“Mmm, Ralph and Lilian are too quiet for my liking”, Sasha said and they all turned to face them.
“Yeah. After stealing the show today, we were hoping for more show”, Rachel said to them.
“Oh I’m not quiet”. Lillian said to them.
“Hmmm. I’m going to the kitchen to get something to eat. Rachel you coming?” Alicia said to her.
“Eat? After what we ate at the dinner? I…” she began to say, but Alicia used her shoulder to hit her and gave her a sign.
“Yeah. I would love to eat again. My tummy is alre-ady empty. I think my digestive system is so…”
“You svçkat acting. Just follow me and pu-ll Sasha along”, Alicia said interrupting and she left.
Rachel got up too and dragged Sasha along
“I don’t want to eat”, Sasha exclaimed as she followed her.
“Sssshhhh”, Alicia gestured at her.
“What’s going on?” She asked when they got to the kitchen.
“Can’t you see that they both nee-d some space?” Alicia asked.
“For what?” Sasha asked.
“Sasha. Don’t tell me you’ve not realized that Lilian likes Ralph?”
“She does?” Rachel asked.
“Oh God. You two are so blind. Why do you think they’re always fighting?”
“Ohh. That’s true!!!” Sasha said.
“Why hasn’t she said anything to us?”
“Cos she doesn’t want to admit it. Plus he also had a girlfriend”, Alicia exclaimed, face palming.
“Mmm. So does Ralph like her too?” Rachel asked.
“I don’t know but I hope so”, Alicia said.
“Wow, I’m so happy alre-ady. Let’s do everything in our power to make sure they end up d@t!ng!!” Sasha said in excitement.
“Why do you think we left them together?” Alicia asked.
“Oh yeah. I feel so slow”, Sasha said, hitting her forehead.
“I’m sure it’s cos of what you drank”, Rachel said.
“Yeah yeah. I’m sleepy. I’d have to leave you two and go to be-d”.
“Sure. I’ll be slee-ping over. So I’ll join you soon”, Rachel said to her.
“I’d love to sleep over too. I don’t think I can drive home in this state. So I’ll join you too”, Alicia said, grinning.
“Alright”, Sasha said and she left.

Samantha and Sally were in the main hall arguing and throwing things around.
“What’s going on over here?!” Sasha asked but they both ignored her.
“When it arrives, I’m taking it”, Sally yelled.
“I ordered it. So I’m taking it!!” Samantha exclaimed as she threw the pillow towards Sally.
“You ordered it right after you heard me saying that I wanted it”.
“No! I ordered it before you said it!”
“I want that dress Sammy!!”
“I want it too!”
“Wait, are you two arguing over a dress? Why can’t you just order another one?”
“It’s the last one smart p@n-ts!” Sally said to her.
“What dress is that?” Sasha asked.Samantha took her phone and showed it to her.
“This dress? I have one and I’ve not worn it yet. I can sell it to you Sammy”.
“No. Sell it to Sally. I ordered for this one alre-ady”.
“I don’t want anything of yours”, Sally said to her.
“You have a lot of things which are mine. Dummy!”
“I’m not a dummy! Who asked you to get involved in the first place”.
“Okay. That’s it. I’m out! And if you ever speak to me that way again? I’m going to whoop your as-s!”
“Whoop who?” Sally asked and Sasha walked up to her and sl@pped her and they began to fight. Sasha indeed whooped her as-s.
“I hate you all! I hate this house and I can’t wait to get mine!!” Sally exclaimed and she walked away.
“Yeah. You do that. We don’t want you here either!!” Sasha exclaimed and walked away too.

Sasha was hanging out with Ross at his place as he prepared something for her to eat.
“Your house is really lovely. I can’t wait to get my place”, she said, smiling.
“Why haven’t you gotten your own place?”
“Because I want to be around my mum and I’ve not seen a place I like”, she said to him.
“Mmm, you like mine?”
“Yeah”.
“So why don’t you move in?”
“Move in? No. I don’t think it’s a good idea”.
“Why not?”
“First we are not married and also it’s too early”.
“Married? Do we have to have to be married first?”
“Yeah. I thought you were a Christian?”
“I am but I’ve not seen where it says that we have to be married before moving in together?”
“Hmm, the Bible describes marriage as leaving your father’s house to be joined to another person. In those days, marriage becomes marriage when the guy asks for the lady from her dad.
And before the dad gives her out, he takes bride price and then he makes the entire family and village aware that he is giving his daughter out to this guy and then he blesses them. So yeah”.
“Mmm, you’re wise. I didn’t see you to be the church type”.
“I don’t go to church that much but I’m a Christian and my mum taught me some few things”.
“I see. So are you a vir-gin?”
“Nah. But now I’m celibate. The last person I did it with was Phi…”, she began to say and she paused.
“What is it?”
“I nee-d to go”, she said to him.
“Why? Did I say something to offend you?” He asked. She shook her head as she gathered her things.
“I’ll see you later Ross”, she said and she left the house.
