“Welcome to your new home” one of the guards mocked as he unfold my eyes, I growled angrily ti-ght£ñing my fist
“Better be quiet, if you don’t want to get yourself into more problems” the other guard said and they left locking the gate with a big padlock
Like I had expected, the dungeon was a dark room in an isolated area, maybe far from the village
Only the emperor, the guards and the ministers know the way in and out of the dungeon, that explains why they always blindfold anyone entering the dungeon in case if he has plans of escaping he won’t know his way out
I looked around to know if there was any seat or even a be-d but there was none, I hissed “the floor would be a better companion” I thought sitting down on the floor
A little breeze entered the dungeon throu-gh the six holes on the wall.. That should be the window
“Am going to suffocate here before my trail” I thought….the heat bec@m£ unbearable for me and the little breeze isn’t helping at all
I stood up and walked to the gate, ban-ging it so ha-rd to attra-ct the attention of the guards
“I thought I told you to be quiet” one of the guards answered to my call
“I can’t take it anymore, this place is very h0t” I said and he bur-st into laughter
“Really….tell me D…. haven’t you heard of this dungeon before” he asked
I was kind of curious, I looked around hoping to find answers to his question then it hitted me “The furnace” I said almost shouting
“That’s right D, the furnace and we both know that no one has ever made it out of this dungeon alive” he said and began to laugh evilly
“Even if you make it alive by noon, the emperor will definitely execute you” he added and left
My legs began to shake that I fell down “Bhalla….” I growled
Escaping was almost impossible for me…how can I possibly break out from this dungeon, even if I can, there are thousand of guards outside whom are re-ady to fight me
I closed my eyes with tears in them… I just have to accept my fate

I got tired of waiting, “why isn’t Lord Ganpati giving me any mission” I thought
“Maybe I should ask Arch angel deves£na, she might know why” I said and disappeared.
I appeared at a church, one of the biggest and ancient church in Mumbai.
I walked into the church, I went to my right, and opened a dark door which can only be seen by angels and went in
The pas-sage was dark and lonely, not a single sounds was heard…. I walked for so long as if I was getting to the end of the world when I began to see glitters of light
Coming from the little stars revolving around the earth, the sun and the moon were in their respective position… after it are two giant gates, the west gate which has the shape of….. and the heavens gate which has the shape of Lord Ganpati, its as if he is the one sitted there
The west gate leads to arch angel deves£na’s angelic office while the heavens gate leads to paradise
All the angels has the key to the west gate but only Lord Ganpati has the key to heavens gate
He opens it thrice in a year, and the third and final opening would be done in three weeks time
Our angelic batch is actually the key and it can never be stolen by mere mortals, infact they can’t even see it.
I brou-ght out my wrists allowing the gate to scan it… Yes…the batch is actually a stamp on each angels right wrist, its invisible to human but visible to angels.
The gate opened by itself and I entered, I saw a white door at the other end, it looks as if its near but its actually a long walk
“I don’t think I can do this” I said and re-leased my wings and flew towards the door
I landed safely and knocked on the door, some second later the door cracked open “Good Morning Arch angel deves£na” I greeted her
She let out her warming smile “I wonder what brings you here, tell me are you in trouble again” she asked
“Am I now forbidden here” I asked sitting down
“No, just that you usually visit whenever you are in trouble” she said and I smiled
“You are right….I usually visit whenever am in trouble, but what can I do” I said
“So tell me, what type of trouble are you in” she asked
“I did rather call it a problem, Arch angel, I haven’t received my final mission yet and its beginning to worry me” I said
“That’s not a problem, you will still received your final mission” she said
“When….” I asked
“I don’t know but it will come, maybe Lord Ganpati is preparing a special mission for you…. just wait for it” she said
“Does that mean….am a special angel… Like a special angel” I asked happily
“Is that why you visited” she asked
I know arch angel Deves£na, whenever she asks that kind of question, it means she want you out
“Okey fine.. I will leave”

I felt cold water dropping into my face.. “Oh gracious, is the roof leaking now too” I thought as I re-adjust my self but the water increa-sed
I gradually opened my eyes only to see the emperor’s son hold a jug of water
“What the fv¢k” I said getting up “what!! do you want to kill me too” he asked
I kept quite, “he is just a spoilt br@t” I thought… He ordered the guards to take me to the throne room
They blindfolded me and took me away, I knew that was the only time I have got to escape if not the emperor will chop my head off
“plea-se can I ease myself” I said “what did you just say” the emperor’s son asked “I asked if I could ease myself plea-se” I repeated
It took five minutes before he spoke up again “fine…take him at a corner but keep an eye on him” he ordered
“Here….do your business and be fast about it” one of the guards said
“plea-se, no offence but I kind of enjoy my privacy more than anything” I said
“What….” “plea-se can you excuse yourself its not as if am running away” I said
“Ten minutes, you get that”
“Sure fine…ten minutes” I said and he left
Immediately I noticed his abs£nce, I took off the loss£n rope they tied on my hands, unknown to them, I have been losing the rope right from the dungeon
I quic-kly took off the blindfold and found myself in the middle of nowhere “what is this place” I thought looking around
Only trees, bushes, mountains could be seen “ten minutes, you get that” the guards word ringed in my head and I quic-kly took to my heels
Although I didn’t know where I was running to but its better than getting killed, besides if I can get to the slaves house, I can easily find my way out of the village
Over the years, I have taken my time to study the village very well and I know where the emperor places his troops and the time each troop leaves for another to take over
I checked my watch, “dammit” I said as I began to run fas-ter, in less than an hour the troop in front of the slave house will leave and it takes at least thirty minutes before another troop comes in
If only I could make it…. I got to a T junction, I st©pped “one of this should lead to the village” I thought
“But which of them….” I asked to no one in p@rticular “you got to trust yourself” my subconscious said
Left or right….. It can’t be front, that probably leads to the river….. “Right” I said and quic-kly took my right
I ran for so long before I got to the village, I ran straight to the slaves house and luckily for me the second troop hasn’t return yet although they would be here in less than five minutes
I tried running over the gates when I suddenly heard someone call my name, I turned it was Chandu
He was running towards my direction “how come….did the emperor re-lease you” he asked
“No, I escaped and I have to leave this village” I said “that’s impossible, you know this village is highly secured the emperor will definitely catch and he will kill you” he said
“Is that the only help you can offer to me” I asked looking at him, he kept mute… I shaked my head negatively, Chandu knows this village more than I do, he was born here, grew up here and he once worked at the palace
“I can see you aren’t rendering any help to me…. In that case I have to go” I said and tried leaving but st©pped
“The troop are here, you have to hide… Come” he said and took me with him… We got to a more saver place at least where the troop won’t think I am, the poultry.
“Here….” Chandu said handing over a rolled paper to me “what’s this” I asked
“Its a map…once you cross over this fance, you will see three guards one facing the north, the other south and the other east…. Don’t let them see you because you would be heading west”
“West….”
“Yes… West, you will arrive at the palace, then you would see like ten guards at the front gate, walk pas-s them throu-gh any possible means and run due south… It would lead you to the back of the palace”
“run towards the river, cross the bridge and hide there, at midnight, you will see a middle aged man by the name Bawa….show this to him” he said handing over a metal batch to me
“He would lead you out of this village to the neighboring village, then if your way to Mumbai…. Immediately” he said and I nodded
“Here…you would nee-d those” he said handing over a backpack to me
“Thanks but what about you Chandu…you knew all this yet you haven’t escaped” I asked surprised
“Its not as easy as you think D” he said
“Well it looks easy to me…” I said
“Fifteen people has tried this, fourteen are dead” he said
“So what happened to the fifteenth person” I asked
“He is right in front of me” he said
I know without being told that I am the fifteenth person…. “I don’t care if I die but I have unfinished business in Mumbai which I must attend to” I said getting up
“If I were you… I would surrender to the emperor and beg for mercy” he said
“We both know that the emperor is a merciless king, he is heartless, he will never forgive” I said
“Just like you… All these years, you kept that gurges burning in your heart D…let it go, no matter what you do…you can never bring your family back” he said
“You are wrong… I might not be able to bring my parents back but I have to save my sister, they took her away that night” I said
“So did they take you away D…they sold you off, what if they sold her as well” he asked
“I will find her… I will find her” I shouted
“Good luck, I pray you survive” he said and turned to leave
“Thanks…thank you, I promise I will never forget this and I will come back for you and your family” I said
“I will expecting you….” He said and left
