I Can’t believe his Sister in-law is this nice and friendly .
I mean I expected her to be as stuck up as his mom and all but she welcomed me with open arms .
” C’mon have a sit ” she said and I sat down nervously.
” So ….first of all I know I can be dramatic but that’s just how I am , I’ve been willing to talk to you for sometime now , especially when I heard you’re back in Italy with your son …” She said and I gave a nod .
” So tell me about you , …” She said and I opened my mouth to say something but I was overwhelmed by her kindness that my words wouldn’t even leave my throat.
This was the first time a Deluca was being super nice to me , They didn’t even approve of my relationship with Frederico in the past and now I knew they only let me in because of Red ….
I don’t even think Grace knows about my past with Frederico , who knows she might eventually start hating me when she finds out .
I ran my fingers in my hair nervously .
” I know ….about the wedding stuff and I don’t judge you , I don’t judge you Aria because at some point in the past I wanted nothing to do with the Deluca’s too ” she said and my eyes stung with tears .
For the first time I was seeing someone who un-derstood me .
” Why …. Did you leave , I know the Deluca men have there own attitude and all , I won’t say I know Frederico like I know the other brothers because he’s the Quiet type, soft spoken and all …. ” She said and I gave a nod .
” I Grew up in a family of four …” I said as my voice shook .
” My Dad owned a small business and my mom … She was a full housewife … My younger brother two years younger than me … We we’re one Happy family .
Things eventually started to change when Dad started coming home with more money .. He started drinking and I’d just finished highschool … My younger brother was still in school
He’d beat up mom at any given chance , he became so abusive that our once Happy family began to crumble , that’s when we found out Dad was part of the Italian mafia …he did illegal jobs and was on the run with us. ..
We didn’t reside in a place for long because sooner or later they’d catch up with us .
Mom was even ra-ped in one the nights when they attacked .
Dad wasn’t around and mom told us not to leave the kitchen .
We saw …..our mom get ra-ped Grace ….” I stuttered as my heart broke badly .
” I loved my mom too much to see her go throu-ghall that pain ….I swore never to have anything to do with the mafia ….those people where despicable ..
My Dad lost his life ….our on one of his nights out ….
Mom started working after that to meet up and I a-ssisted with the menial jobs I could do .
After College I couldn’t find a good job , plus my brother was now staying late nights out …..I was scared of loosing him .
When I saw the drugs in his room that’s when he confessed he was part of the drug smuggling business and that people where after his life .
I went with him and negotiated with the men …I was to pay his depts …I wanted to do everything in my power to make sure my brother was safe from those devils …
I doubled the jobs I did in a day and that’s when I started working for Frederico .
before Frederico and I Dated he used to be a total man who-re …he went out with cla-ssy rich girls and heiresses .
He didn’t do emotions and most at times I clean up his Room after his escapades with women ” I said and she chuckled .
I didn’t even know he had his eyes on me ” I said and she seemed to be enjoying the story .
I hated him a lot back then I mean he was a complete skirt chaser ” I said and she laughed .
While I used to be the Good personal a-ssistant that went around cleaning up his scandals to make sure he had a smooth political career .
” He didn’t hit on you then ? She asked excitedly.
” Nope it was strictly proffessional , Because Frederico was this quiet type who won’t tell you what he’s up I Hated his ways …but he eventually started hitting on me after one of his political Wins .” I said and she gasped.
” Despite the cla-ss difference ? She asked sm-irking .
” Ya he knew where I lived ,he knew the cla-ss difference too ..I was shocked…why would someone like him want anything to do with me .Well I was normal girl and he was the Frederico De LUCA .”
“I thought he was out to play me …I was very strict with my Decision not to have anything other than a proffessional relationship With fred .
” But he was hell bent on making me his woman …He even went as far as Befriending Anna and then my mom …it was crazy how much Mom liked him ….she even convinced me that she knew a good man when she saw him ” I said and Grace sighed sadly .
“Everyone wanted me to date Frederico , because arcording to them he we would be the perfect couple …they believed I was too Arrogant and bad-tempered and that Frederico and I would definitely compliment each other ”
“But I didn’t want a relationship at that point in my life …..We’d found out mom has cancer … ,She had to take her medications I couldn’t afford to have a relationship with my boss and mess things up at work… I’d lost my Dad to a criminal situation , my Brother was part of a syndicate and I was trying my best to pay off the dept he owed .
” Dating Frederico at that point meant pulling him into my messed up life …. Eventually they killed my brother because he couldn’t pay off and started pestering me to pay the depts ,that’s how I kept trying to pay whatever I owed but they kept increasing by the day ……
I didn’t want to drag Frederico into that mess …., But he was stubborn ….” I said as I remembered the different ways he tired to Win my heart .

★Flashback ★
” Aria…. Someone is here to see ya ” Anna said with a sm-irk as she eyed me teasingly .
” Expecting someone? Mom asked as I Dropped her medicine on the table .
” No I’m not expecting anyone ” I said and she laughed .
” Is okay if you have a boyfriend now honey ” she said and I chuckled.
” C’mon mom I don’t have a boyfriend ,that’s the least of the things I’m thinking right now ” I said and turned to Anna .
” It’s the hottie ” she said and my jaws literally Dropped.
I didn’t need a seyer to tell me it was Mr Deluca .
I walked out in my Cute shorts and t-shirt .
” Mr Deluca it’s late ” I said immediately I opened the door and walked out .
” You’re always angry Lily it doesn’t suit you ” he said and I folded my arms with a frown on my face.
” The names Aria and you know it SIR” I said stressing the sir part .
” This is what I like about you Lily you’re fiesty” he said sm-irking and I wanted nothing more than to wipe the sm-irk off of his handsome face .
He knew he was good-looking and that was only boosting his already inflated ego .
“You are not permitted to like me Sir ….you are my Boss ” I said and he laughed .
” Oh c’mon the heart knows what it wants” he said and I hated my heart for fluttering for him .
” Here flowers for you ” he said and ki-ssed my cheeks .
” He’s so sweet ” I heard Anna squil and I turned to glare at her .
” I will win your heart sooner or later Aria …I promise” he said and got into his car before drove off .

” Awwwwwwwwn I can imagine the sweetness” Grace said smiling .
To cut the long story short ,We eventually started dating after a night at his office and couldn’t get enough of each other ..
I was scared because I continued to get death threats from my brothers gang it was getting worse everyday they wanted me to pay in interest .
Before Fred and I even dated I’d poured out my heart to him about my Dad and how my brother died .
I knew just how much pain being a part of the mafia had cost my family ,but I excluded the part of my brother owing the Syndicate because I was scared …I was very scared he’d try to pay the depts my brother owed or worse even confront them ….I didn’t wanna loose him …I feared they might kill him …just like how they killed my Dad and brother .
Little did I know he was part of the mafia himself ….funny enough he was the second in command of the mafia Grace ….At least I’m sure you knew who Ma-ssimo was before you married him I mean who Doesn’t know Ma-ssimo Deluca ? The number one Don of the leading Crime family of Italy .
” Frederico didn’t even tell me the Deluca family he was from was the same leading Deluca crime family .
I loved Frederico with everything in me , I was willing to give our relationship my all ,But on our wedding day …the day we where supposed to start the journey of our lives together that’s when I found out his true identity …
That’s when I found out …he was not the man I wanted to marry , that’s when I found out the syndicate my younger brother worked for was connected to him …..
And Frederico knew ……he knew everything ,how my father died and how my brother died and he hid it all from me …I was heartbroken .
” Oh my God ” Grace said sadly as she ru-bbed my hands softly.
” That day was supposed to be the happiest day of my life ,i was supposed to give him Red as our wedding gift … I’d just found out I was pregnant some days to our wedding .
I had plans for our night together , but the bitter truth I’d just found out to-re my heart into a million pieces .
I wanted to go in there and confront him , but I couldn’t ….my heart hurt too bad .
I stayed in the room and cried my eyes out .
” How did you find out ? She asked and I wiped my tears as I bit my lower li-p to stop it from Quivering.
” A woman told me …a beautiful woman , she had all the proof to back up her claims,she didn’t want me marrying into the family …she warned me to leave and make sure I ab-ort Red ” I said and Grace immediately looked Alarmed .
” Woman ? ” She asked concerned.
” I wanted to confront Frederico but whatever I’d just seen and heard hurt way too much . That was when I Decided to leave everything behind .
I lived a reserved life because I was scared he’d find me with his connections after all I was running with his heir he had no idea about .
” I can’t believe there was more to this story , I know your worries Aria ,I was once like you …I suffered a lot but …what I can say his behind all the bloodshed and hurt we’re still together … I lost a lot too ” she said and I just cried .
” I can’t Grace …I know you want me to stay with Frederico ,look I know he won’t stop until I break down … until I finally see him as my master ….” I said and sniffed back tears .
” I’m not saying you should accept him now ….just give it a chance…let things happen naturally” she said and I gave a nod .
” I won’t be staying here though ” I said and she laughed.
” I un-derstand” she said as I got up to leave .
” Aria ” she called making me turn.
” Hmm”
” Did she tell you what her name was ? She asked and I turned .
” Something …..Lina …ya her name was Lina ” I said and she froze on the sp-ot but smiled at me .
A smile that didn’t even reach her eyes.
