Writer’s pov:
“I think there’s a car following us,” Tony said, his voice tense. He looked in the side mirror, his eyes fixed on the car behind.

“You think he’s following us?” Madelyn asked, a note of worry in her voice.

“Should I pull over?” Tony asked, his hands tightening on the steering wheel. Madelyn nodded, her eyes fixed on the car in the rearview mirror.

Tony drove slowly, still watching the car. Eventually, he pulled over and put the car in park. Madelyn got out of the car and locked the door.

The taxi pulled over as well, and Wealth got out. He paid the taxi driver, then walked towards Madelyn.

“Why did you follow me?” Madelyn asked.

“Is this where you were headed?” Wealth asked, ignoring her question.

“ wealth why did you follow me?” She asked again

About to speak, he saw someone staring at them and glanced back at her.

“Who’s that?” he asked.

“I asked a question first,” she reminded him, her voice laced with irritation.

“Who is he, Madelyn?” he repeated, his anger rising.

The guy I told you about, Tony,” she replied, meeting his angry gaze.

“Can’t you please tell me what’s going on?” he asked, taking her hand in his. “Why are you trying to handle everything on your own?”

“I don’t want to drag you into my mess, Wealth. I want to face this alone while you focus on your own life. I know you’ve had a lot on your mind lately, so please let me handle this by myself.” Her gaze softened.

“ I don’t want you to shoulder all of this alone,” he said, his voice now gentle but firm. “I want to be there for you, to help you however I can. And it’s not, you dragging me into your mess. I really want us to overcome all this together.“

“I know, darling,” she muttered, her hand on his cheek, her eyes shining with love. “But there’s so much of the world out there that we haven’t even seen yet.just let me handle this for now, okay.I’ll be back before you know it.”

“I’m going with you, no matter where you’re going,” he said, getting into the car.

“Wealth,” she called after him, but he was already closing the door.

She sighed heavily and gave up, getting into the car through the other door and sitting close to him. Tony started the engine and drove away, with Madelyn’s reluctant blessing.

••••••••

As Tony drove through the gates of the compound, they closed behind him with a loud clang. He parked the car and got out, leaving Wealth and Madelyn alone in the backseat. The compound was large and sprawling, with high walls and security cameras everywhere. It felt like a fortress, impenetrable and secure.

“Where is this place?” Wealth asked, his eyes curious.

“Levi is here, and he won’t leave this place alive.”she replied shortly

“You kidnapped him?” Wealth asked, his voice incredulous.

“I did what I had to do,” she said, her tone cold and unapologetic. “And now I need him to tell me everything he knows. After that, I’ll decide what to do with him and please do not try to stop me,for I won’t listen to you”

“I won’t stand in your way ,” he said, his voice soft. “But I want to make sure you’re sure about this. Are you sure it’s what you want to do?”

She nodded, her eyes bright with determination. “I’m sure. I know it’s the right thing to do.”

He brushed a strand of hair from her face, his touch gentle and soothing. “Alright,” he said. “I’ll support you, whatever you decide.” He leaned closer and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Without another word, they got out of the car on opposite sides. Tony was still standing at the door, his arms crossed over his chest. He looked at them as they approached.

“Alright, let’s get this over with,” Madelyn said, a determined look on her face and they all went in.
Maria rushed over and enveloped Madelyn in a warm hug as soon as she walked in.

“Are you alright?” Madelyn asked, her voice full of concern.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” She replied. “I just got a bit dizzy from some of the liquid that got in my mouth.”

“Where is he?” Madelyn asked, looking around the room.

“He’s upstairs,” Tony said, gesturing toward the staircase. “Let’s go.”

As Tony opened the door, Madelyn and Wealth entered the room together. Tony locked the door behind them, creating a sense of privacy and security. Madelyn stood in the middle of the room, her eyes taking in at the person in front of her.

Levi’s eyes widened in shock as he looked up at Madelyn. “Delyn?” he gasped, his voice trembling.

“Levi?” Madelyn replied, her tone tinged with sarcasm. Her eyes narrowed as she glared at him.

“How are you?” Levi asked, his words faltering. The horror on his face was evident.

“Oh, I’m just peachy,” Madelyn said, a smile playing on her lips. “I’m alive and well, just like you hoped, right?”

Levi’s mouth opened and closed, but no words came out.

“I never meant for things to go this way. I deeply regret what happened, and I’m willing to take responsibility for it.” He managed to say after a while

“I don’t want to hear how sorry you are,” she said, her voice low and controlled. “I just want to know why you did it. Why did you burn down my house? Why did you spread the rumor that I was dead? And whose body was found in that burning house instead of mine? You manipulated the autopsy results too. Tell me why, before I lose my temper.”

“Delyn…”

“Answer me while I’m still calm, you idiot!” she snapped, slapping him hard across the cheek. Wealth immediately reached out to restrain her.

“I don’t want to hear his apologies. I just want to know what made him do this. How could he betray my blind love and try to get rid of me so easily?”Her voice was laced with anger and pain.

I’m so sorry,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I don’t know how to explain it.”

“What made you do it?” she demanded, her voice cold and hard.

“Please,” he begged,”Just try to understand, I did it under their influence.”

“I’m going to ask you again,” she said, her voice trembling with rage. “Who are they? Who are the people ? why did y’all made me go through so much pain? Why made me feel like the world didn’t want me in it? You all slowly killed my inner peace? Everyone I trusted turned against me, except for a few who truly care.”
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke.

“ I’m sorry” Levi muttered

“Stop saying that and just tell me the truth!” she screamed, lean closer and had her hands tightening around his neck. Wealth was quick to intervene, pulling her hands away.

“Love, calm down,” he said gently, pulling her into a tight hug. “You’re going to be okay.”

“I…I almost died,” she whispered.

“I know,” he said, kissing her head. “But you’re safe with me now.”
He continued to stroke her hair and pat her back, his gaze fixed on Levi, who was also staring at him.

“It’s okay, love,” he assured her, as she sobbed softly.

“I won’t let them hurt him, if he can just face me and tell me the truth. I just want to know what I did wrong to deserve all of these.”she said calmly

The room fell silent, save for the sound of their breathing and the steady beating of their hearts. After a long moment, she disengaged from the hug and turned to face Levi.

“I’m not going to waste any more time in here,” she said, her voice cold and hard. “Are you ready to tell me who wanted that document and why, or should I take matters into my own hands?”

“Madelyn…”

“I’m asking you for the last time, Levi,” she interrupted. “Do you want to tell me the truth, or die with it?”

“ I…

“ let’s go babe” she walked towards the door and clicked it opened.
“ k!!l him without a trace” she said and tony nodded obediently
“ Madelyn please” Levi said
“ slowly. Make him regret his every breath” she added and walked out fully.

“Can I say something?” Wealth asked, turning to Tony.

“What is it?” Tony asked.

“Can I?” Wealth repeated, and Tony nodded.

“Whether you decide to speak now or die, know that the ones you’re trying to protect won’t go to hell with you. But if this is all part of your plan, then die.” Wealth’s voice was cold and hard, his eyes narrowed.

“Say hello to the people on the other side,” he added, and walked out of the room.

Tony’s surprise expression while staring at him, made it funny instead of the tensed atmospheres he looked at Levi and winked and before you know it three others joined in and the soundproof door was shut leaving him at his mercy of his tongue, whenever he is ready to speak

Annalisa gave Ryan a weak smile as her hand remained in his. “Stop staring at me like that, I’m fine now.”

.”I was scared when you passed out,” he said.

“You hated me and always said you wished I was never born, so I guess I wanted to leave you to be…”

Ryan cut her off before she could finish. “Stop saying bad things.”and she smile

“Thanks to you all.” She looked at Mima and Sydney, who were also in the room.

She had just been discharged from the hospital after the incident that had kept her there for days.

I must say, taking such a risk was truly a terrible idea” Sydney said.

“I know, but I had to do something to bring him home,” She replied and smiled as Ryan gently stroked her hair.

A soft knock on the door drew their attention. It opened slowly, and Mr. Connor walked in.

“Dad!” Lisa jumped out of bed, heedless of her health, and ran into his arms.

“Where were you? I was so worried…scared…I thought something had happened…”

“I’m here now, Lisa,” Mr. Connor said, calming her down. “I’m perfectly fine. It’s okay.”

After a moment, Lisa pulled away from the embrace and looked at him. “Let’s get you to the hospital, Dad,” she said, her eyes glistening with tears. “You’re not feeling well, and you need proper treatment.”

Mr. Connor hugged her again. “Lisa, I never thought you cared so much about me. I want you to know that I love you very much.”

I know that, but your health…” She began.

“I’m fine,” Mr. Connor interrupted. “I’m not that sick, and I’ve been taking my medication properly.”

“Sit down here, Dad,” She said, leading him to the sofa in her room.

“Lisa, you don’t look well,” Ryan said. “Come and lie down and rest.”

“Why are you still there anyway?” She asked, staring at Ryan with a raised brow. “You should come and hug Dad too.”

“I already saw and talked to him yesterday while you were still in the hospital,” Ryan replied.

“Really? Did you guys tell Dad about it?” Lisa asked. “Did he tell you…”

“Lisa, listen to Ryan. Just lie down, okay?” Jemima said, walking over to her and slowly helping her to bed.

“Thank you,” Mr. Connor said. “I want to thank all of you.”

“It’s okay, sir,” Sydney replied. “There’s no need to keep thanking us. It’s great news to hear that you knew about the drugs.”

“Dad knows?” Lisa asked, her eyes wide with surprise andThey all nodded.

“Do you mean, before we found out?” Lisa asked, her eyes still wide with surprise. They all nodded again.

“He knew about it earlier and immediately stopped taking it, but pretended to be sick,” Ryan replied.

“How did he know? How did you know, Dad?” Lisa asked.

“With the help of one of the househelps,” Mr. Connor said vaguely. “That’s all I’m saying.”

“Wow! So you’re not that sick after all?” Lisa asked, her voice filled with relief.

Exactly,” Mr. Connor said. “I’ve been on proper medication and will be perfectly fine soon.”

“But what about the blood? The shaking? The painful throat? The…” Lisa trailed off, unable to find the words to describe all of the symptoms.

“All an act,” Mr. Connor said and couldn’t stop staring at him in bewilderment.

Damn!” She exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief. They all burst out laughing at her expression.

“What about Dylan and Mom? Did you…” she began, but trailed off, unsure of how to finish her question.

“No, but thanks to you guys, I do now,” Mr. Connor replied.

“You’re hurt, right?” She asked with a pout.

“I’m fine,” Mr. Connor said. “I won’t jump to conclusions until they’re both ready to talk.”

“Awwwn,” Lisa muttered. “It’s okay.”
They all burst out laughing again.

“I have to take care of something real quick. I’ll be back.” Mr. Connor stood up, walked over to the bed, and kissed Lisa softly on the head. “Thank you,” he said, and with that, he left the room.

“Whoa!” Lisa exclaimed, her expression a mixture of surprise and amusement. They all laughed again.

Who are you?” Aurora asked the strangers standing in front of her.

“Who are you guys?” she repeated, her voice trembling slightly with fear.

Within a blink of an eye, she was tossed into the back of a car. The door slammed shut behind her, and the car sped off.

“Let me go!” Aurora screamed. “Who are you guys? Where are you taking me?”
Her screams echoed through the car, but no one answered her.

He mouth was taped , and they struggled to tie her hands behind her back. After a few moments, they succeeded.

“Shh,” one of them whispered as the car head down an unknown route.
