Chapter eighteen ?️?️

JADA’S POV

Hey, Jayden can we meet up. Right now?” Linda calls Jayden still sobbing. “Yeah. That’s perfect.” She says and hangs up the call.

“This this park near the Williams’ mansion. He said he’ll meet me there.”

She says and she takes her phone and calls someone. “Dave, pa-rty’s over. I’ll be out for a while… Yeah…. With Jada… Okay.”

She says hanging up and climbs onto the back of the motorbike.

I follow her directions to the park and we arrive just as Jayden arrives on foot.

He stops in his tracks and looks at me wide eyed. He’s in a black leather jacket where he’s tacked his hands in.

He has a pair of black jeans that look good on him. Linda gets off the bike as Jayden opens and shuts his mouth then walks to me when he notices that I’m trying to leave.

“Jada? Fuc*k! I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” He says surprising me. He has?
“You have?” Linda asks looking between us.

Jayden clears his throat then realizes the situation.

“Linda? What are you doing with her?” He turns to me asking the second question but his sister beats me to it.

“I’m so sorry Jay. I wish I listened to you when you came. I never knew that Loe is gone.

I should have been there.” She sobs as she hu-gs him making Jayden lean lower. I move away trying to give them privacy.

I look at my phone and notice a text message from Sydney Kings sent five minutes ago.

Looks like I couldn’t notice because of my bike.
Sydney K.

We have a lead. Come over to the base as soon as you can.

I look behind me to see Jayden and his sister talking as she cries.

Jayden seems teary too. I should just go since I have nothing to do here.

I walk to my bike and just as I insert my key on the ignition, Jayden’s hand holds my wrist. I look up to him.

“Can we please talk. It’ll be short.” He says and my eyes move to a teary Linda whose watching us quietly.

“I nee-d to get somewhere fast. Some other day, okay?” I ask but he shakes his head.

“I know you.” He says making me raise my eyebrow. “When you leave, that’s the last time I’ll be seeing you.

You’re so damn ha-rd to find Jada.” He says and I sm-irk. He’s right.

“One minute.” I say sitting straight on the motorbike.

“That’s enough. I quit basketball days ago.” He says and I just stare at him. ‘Okay, so?’ I inwardly ask but he seems to read it in my face and he lets out a small sm-irk.

“So, I want in. I know you’re looking for his killers and I’m so stuck with the information I have.

Maybe it could help you but you’d have to let me join you.” He says and I think about it.

I can do this by myself. I have the American mafia helping me after all and Cole too.

And maybe the information he has won’t probably make a difference if I already have it.

Is he cut out for this? When the Italians took me I was a weak and broken girl but I still had my revenge. One can never un-derestimate a person set on revenge after all.

Oh, and before I forget, letting him in will have to make me reveal to him that I’m in some mafia gang and the so feared billionaire couple are heading it.

“No.” I say making his hopeful expression fade and replaced by anger.

“Fine. I’ll just go to the Spiders’ base alone.” He says turning making me frown. He knows where it is? I’ve been looking for that place for a week now!

“Wait.” I say just as he puts his arm around Linda. “Fine.” I say making him sm-irk. “But I have to go somewhere first.” I say and he walks to me.

“Does it concern this case?” He asks.
“Yes.”

“Then I’m coming too. We’re a team now.” He says and I look at Linda.

“Ken’s coming for me.” She says and I remember from her file that he’s her husband. “He’s five minutes away.” She adds and Jayden nods curtly. Hmm.

We stand in silence before a sleek porshe comes into view and a brunnete man about five years older than me steps out. He looks at me the then Jayden before turning to Linda.

“What’s wrong baby.” He says as he moves towards Linda and emBr@ces her.

Their hair have almost the same shade. I look at Jayden just to see him looking at the two nothing displaying in his face or eyes. “Hi. I’m Ken Manche-ster.”

Ken says extending his hand towards me and I do the same greeting him.

“Jada Costa.” I reply and he turns to Jayden.
“Hey man.” He says as they do their bro handshake as I observe them.

Ken moves to Linda and tells us that they’re leaving.
“They are in love.” I state trying to see Jayden’s expression.

“Yeah. But he’s the reason why she left. Well not his reason but a pa-rtial cause.” He says making my eyebrows raise in question and Jayden sees this.

“Story for another day.” He says as he climbs the motorbike behind me and places his hands on my wa-ist.

“So where are we going?” He asks making me take in a de-ep breath. Should I just tell him now or just show him? I’m minutes late. I’ll just show him.

“You’ll see.” I reply vaguely.
“Stop doing that.” I yell four minutes into the ride.

“What? I can’t hear you over the wind and your voice is muffled by the helmet.” He explains and so I shout.

“STOP ru-b-bing YOUR THUMBS ON MY SKIN.” I shout and immediately he stops before he lets out a laugh.

“I didn’t even realize I was doing it. You have soft skin.”

He says and I laugh too. We drive for eight minutes before we arrive at the familar gates. Jayden had started ru-b-bing his thumbs again five minutes ago but I didn’t stop him this time.

I give out my identity with my real names to Colin making Jayden press his hand against me.

He had forgotten that pa-rt. “You’ll have to tell me the story about your names.” He whispers in my left ear.

“And your friend?” Colin asks and I also give out Jaydens info. They hand him a visitor’s badge before granting us excess.

“K. A. M? What does that mean?” Jayden asks looking at the badge.

“Patience Jayden.” I reply. I stop at my usual sp-ot where one of my cars is and I park beside it.

“I remember we came here the last time but I never got these chills. They didn’t even ask for my information last time.” He says.

“It’s because I got back to them. I’m fully in.” I say and he holds my arm making me stop.
“Tell me what’s going on Jada.” He says his voice low.

“It’s you who asked to join me not knowing what you’re getting yourself into.” I say looking into his icy blue eyes.

“Yeah. I know. You’re just acting so secretive and mysterious. This place is mysterious.” He says and I chuckle unexpectedly. “Is this some secret organization Jada? CIA maybe?”

“It is a secret organization. A family that protects one another. That are always there for each other.

The most feared and heartless family.” I say making him look at me thoughtfully.

“The Mafia?” He asks.
“Bingo.” I whisper in his ear as I move past him.

Chapter nineteen ?️?️

We walk towards Sydney’s office until I find a woman with a black hair but with some curly brown highlights towards the end kizzing a blonde haired man.

They hear us approach and stop then look towards us.

The Italian bitc-h Amelia and her husband Larry I think.

All I know he’s Isabella’s best friend but rarely has anything to do with the Mafia.

I look behind me to see Jayden looking at them as I can imagine what he’s thinking.

‘They are also pa-rt of the mafia?’. It’s not like we come with a label on our foreheads that say ‘hey, I’m pa-rt of the mafia kill me’.

We all have the same tattoo on either our shoulder blades or biceps. Mine is on my shoulder blade.

I p@$$ them but the Italian stops me. “Why is he here? You can’t bring outsiders and you know that.” She says and I scoff.

“Hi. I’m Jayden. I’m helping Jada.” Jayden says standing in front of them and I roll my eyes.

“I’m Amelia and this is my husband Harry.” She says as Harry kizzes the back of her hand. I roll my eyes again.

“Jayden, we’re not here for introductions move on or go home.” I say and turn towards Sydney’s office.

I knock as I hear a baby crying inside. I twist the handle and get in to find Sydney Kings cooing at a two year old baby as the other two kids are no where to be seen.

He places a finger on his li-ps gesturing for me not make a sound as he walks towards the room singing a lullaby.

That’s America’s mafia king people!
Jayden gets in a minute later and walks towards me.

“That couple is so cool and seem to be into some kink.” I pretend not to listen to what he says because I don’t care.

We sit in silence as Sydney sings for about five minutes before he stops and emerges a minute later but stops when he sees Jayden then raises an eyebrow towards me.

“He’s my @$$istant.” I say and hear Jayden scoff but says nothing.

“Sorry I have the kids today. Isabella and her mother travelled to florida for her uncle’s wedding preparations.”

He says and I just nod until I remember the uncle he’s talking about.

“The PI? Jason Styles?” I ask and he nods.
“I know him. He worked for my mother to find Linda a year ago together with this dude, Anthony.” Jayden says beside me and Sydney nods with a small smile.

“Yeah. In fact it’s their wedding.” He says as he opens a folder before turning to Jayden and gestures for me to follow him.

“Why did you bring him here? Again?” He asks immediately we step away.

“He’s helping me. It was his nephew after all and he wants revenge.” I answer.

“Do you know what you’re doing? Getting him involved? Does he know about what we do here?”

He asks and I nod cautiously. He lets out a breath. “You know what this means for him right? And for you? He’ll be un-der your care until we can trust him.

You can’t go around telling people about us and you know that Candice.” He says his voice calm.

“I un-derstand boss. He’s the first and last and trust me, I’ll watch over him until you say so.” I say sincerely.

“He’ll have to sign the contract. And I can’t let you go. You broke a law and you must be punished Candice Martins.” He says his voice serious.

“I’m ready boss. I’ll accept your punishment.” I say looking down in submission. I already knew this would happen.

We walk back to where Jayden is and I sit on my previous chair. Next to Jayden and Sydney sits in his looking coldly at Jayden.

“You know about us.” He states making Jayden look at him with wide eyes. “I’m not sure if you know the consequences to that but one thing I can tell you is that with that piece of information, your life just changed.

Tomorrow morning you’ll come back here at exactly ten a.m and sign some papers ensuring your silence.

No one should know about us throu-ghyou because we will know if anything of the sort happens.”

Sydney says looking into his eyes and I can see Jayden trying to seem strong. Unshaken and I inwardly smile.

Sydney Kings is one of the coldest men I know when he wants to. No, scratch that. Sydney Kings is the coldest and most feared man I know when he wants to.

I mean, look at him when he’s with Isabella or his three babies. He seems the sweetest and most lovable man. To me, he’s friendly just as he’s to Isa’s friend La… Harry.

Seeing Jayden not cower makes me so proud of him. The look Sydney has now, scares me too but I know it’s not projected to me… yet. I did tell Jayden about us after all.

“Your calls, emails and whereabouts will be managed from now on by Jada. You’ll write down your information here. Real information.” He says handing a sheet of paper to Jayden.

Jayden takes it and reads it then asks for a pen. He’s not even shaking or scared? He looks at me for about two seconds before writing the nee-ded information down then hands it to Sydney Kings minutes later.

“Good. You’re now un-der Candice’s care until I decide you are trustworthy enough.” He says placing the paper in a cabinet. “Don’t forget going against us is putting yourself and your family in danger.” He says.

“I un-derstand Mr Kings.” Jayden says in a strong voice making my boss nod his head.
“Now about your case Candice.” Sydney says opening another folder.

“We’ve found the spiders’ hangout.” He announces and I glance at Jayden. Is that what he wanted to tell me? The information he had? “Its below ‘The Ultimate Club’ but you nee-d to have their trust in order to go with them.

The best way is seduction and I’m positive you’re familiar with that.”

He says handing me the folder. “Renna and Mia will go with you and maybe some two men to accompany you.” He says.
Renna and Mia are twins who always do missions together.

Last time I saw them was when we had to pretend to be catholic sisters to save Isabella and her mother from the Italians and Sydney’s brother, Liam.

They were great so I won’t mind working with them.
“Linda DJs there sometimes. On the weekends.” Jayden says and I smile. Sydney picks up his phone and calls someone but disconnects the call minutes later.

“Mia and Renna have a shipment to take care of as from next week till the end of the month and I can only trust them with that.” He says tapping his pen.

“I know someone but I’ll have to talk to her. She’s cut out for this.” He says and I nod. Jayden and I get up and walk out of Sydney’s office minutes later.

“It’s almost eleven p.m.” Jayden states but I don’t say anything. “I never knew this was so… intense.” He says and I glance at him for a second.

“You wanted to know. Guess curiosity really did kill the cat.” I say.

“Yeah. But now I want more. I’m curious to know why they call you different names or why you seem like this cold bad@$$ but at the same time you have this soft sp-ot for kids.” He says looking into my eyes and I sm-irk.

“Eager to know about me Mr Williams?” I ask teasingly but I’m serious. “Sorry. But I can’t tell you anything about me.”

I say my voice low as I stand infront of him. che-st to che-st. He snakes an arm around my wa-ist bringing me closer and bends to my ear.
“Then I’ll find out by myself.

One thing at time until I’ll figure your mysterious se-xy @$$ out.” He promises tracing his li-ps from my ear to my cheeks and stops to my li-ps.

I take out my tongue we-tting my li-ps doing the same to his in the process. A loud horn breaks our trance and we both look at an amused Sydney Kings.
“I have kids on board.”

He says with a sm-irk then speeds away. Jayden pulls away his hand and I move back.

“Can I crash with you?” Jayden asks his husky voice gone and I look at him my eyebrow up.

“I had an argument with mother and I told her that I’ll move out and I didn’t have time to search for a place.” He says scratching the back of his head. “Home isn’t home anymore.” He adds.
“How long then?” I ask and he shrugs.

“How about until when I find a place?” He asks. My apa-rtment has a spare room that I had planned to make Ryan’s.

“Fine. I’m you’re guardian after all.” I say and he sm-irks as I climb on my bike.
