Her eyes went to their interlocked hands and she chortle. Even a stupid person could tell it wasn’t a genuine laugh.
Valerie and Jeffrey exchanged glances.
“What’s up? Don’t tell me you’re planning to stand at the door.” She asked and they exhaled before walking in, completely.
“When did you arrive Evie??” Jeffrey asked and she chuckled.
“Of course you don’t know. It hasn’t been long I arrived.” She said and took her gaze to Valerie.
“What’s up Lerie? You haven’t said anything… Aren’t you happy to see me??” She asked and Valerie shook her head.
“No, it’s just that…”
“You’re surprised? I understand. You should be, you–”
“Why are you back mom?” Leo butted in, rudely.
And the three turned to him.
“Leo??” Valerie called.
“Why are you back?? The atmosphere was fine just a while ago, and you suddenly arrived making it awkward for Aunt Valerie.” He said and Evie blinked her lashes, surprisedly.
“Wow… Wow Leo, you’ve grown.” She said, but Leo wasn’t smiling at all.
He looked very serious and it surprised Evie to the bones.
“Leo!” Valerie called again.
“I don’t care why you’re here mom, but I’ll be glad if you go! Now!” He said with a glare.
He looked at Valerie, then at Jeffrey, then back to Evie before he took the stairs, to his room.
“Woah! Woah!! Woah!!!” She laughed hysterically.
If she said she wasn’t shocked, she’ll be a very big liar.

“Evie-”
“He changed just within few days. Humph!” She scoffed and turned to Valerie.
“You succeeded in getting his love just like you wanted. I’m impressed.” She smirked and Valerie stared confusedly.
“What are you talking about??”
“I’ll see you all tomorrow. Goodnight.” She said with a smile, then she stood up and left
“She’s acting strange.” Valerie muttered when she was out of sight.
“Weird.” Jeffrey said.
“Evie’s back unannounced, and there’s no doubt she’ll find out everything in no time soon, coz it’s obvious Leo is starting to despise her.” Valerie said and Jeffrey nodded.
She turned to him, holding his hands.
“We have to act fast Jeffrey. We should come up with a quick plan.” She said and Jeffrey nodded.
“I already have a good plan.” He said and she looked at him.
“What’s it??”

Alecia slept curled up in the bed like a baby with a pretty smile on her face.
The memories of Leroy’s confession played in her head while still in the sleep and she chuckled, hugging her pillow tightly.
The door squeaked open and Leroy walked into the room with a tray of food.
He sniggered on seeing her smiling brightly in her sleep.
He placed the tray of food on the bedstand, then he leaned closer and placed a light kiss on her lips.
Alecia’s eyes opened that moment and she smiled on seeing him.
“Hey.” She said, tucking her lips in.
“Good morning.” He greeted with a charming smile
“Good morning.” She replied and Leroy chuckled, staring at her.
“How do you always look so beautiful in the morning??” He asked and Alecia blushed heavily. She immediately covered her face with her palms.
“Stop it! You’re making me feel shy.” She pouted and Leroy chuckled.
“But I’m being honest.
“Stoppiittt!!!” She giggled covering her face with the quilt and Leroy laughed laying beside her.
“Breakfast in bed.” He said and she drew up the quilt from her face.
She turned to her left to see the food on the bedstand and she turned to face Leroy who was staring at her.
“And why are you–”
“I thought you wanna sleep? I’ll lay beside you and watch you while you continue your sleep.” He said and she blushed.
He chortled.
“Aren’t you going to the office?” She asked and he shook his head negatively.
“Oh…” She muttered and he smiled, the two began staring at each other, not saying anything just smiling while their hearts and minds did the talking.
Leroy suddenly leaned closer and placed a kiss on her lips. She gasped and covered her lips immediately he broke it.
“I haven’t brushed.” She said and he smirked.
“It doesn’t matter. You taste even more better.” He said and she blushed.
He claimed her lips again she reciprocated this time.
Her hands slowly went to his chest as he became on top, soon, their clothes had already been gotten rid of and their moans filled the room.

“Careful Evie.” Valerie said as she helped Evie to her room.
She was drunk and was staggering, her head bopping as she walked. She left early in the morning and she’s just arriving… this late.
“One… Mo- re bottle Lerie…” She mumbled.
“C’mon, you should go to sleep now.” Valerie said as she successfully got her to her room.
She laid her on the bed and took off her heels, then she pulled up the quilt on her, tucking her in the bed, properly.
“Go to sleep.” Valerie muttered, patting her head.
She made to stand up but Evie held her wrist stopping her from going.
Valerie turned to her, she had her eyes closed as tho she was sleeping.
“Don’t go… I have something to tell you.” She said and Valerie arched her brows.
“Can’t it wait till tomorrow?” She inquired.
“I won’t be able to say it tomorrow, when I’m sober.” She said.
“What’s it??”
“Madison Roberts… It’s about her.” She muttered and Valerie’s eyes widened.
It was a Friday.
Jeffrey went to work, Valerie wasn’t at home.
Evie was the only one in the mansion, and currently, she was lying on her bed while the maid gave her a massage.
She was obviously enjoying it as she had her eyes closed, with a soothing smile on her face.
A knock suddenly came on her door and cussed inwardly, wondering who it was, disturbing her quiet time.
Nevertheless, she gave her consent to whoever it was. The door opened and Jane walked into the room.
“Good day ma’am. I apologize for disrupting your quiet time, but then. The cops are here with Valerie and they’re requesting your presence.” She said and Evie swiftly turned to her.
“What?? Why??” She asked and Jane shook her head.
“I’m clueless.”
Evie huffed and smirked.
“Let’s go.”

They climbed down the stairs, just as she said, they met Valerie downstairs with the cops.
Jeffrey was standing beside her.
She walked majestically towards them.
“What’s going on Jeffrey? Lerie? Why are the cops here??” She asked when she had successfully gotten down the stairs.
“They’re here because justice is due.” Jeffrey replied and Evie chuckled before sitting on a couch.
“Justice?? For who?” She asked and Valerie smiled before walking towards her.
“Evie Zhang, three years ago precisely four years ago. You staged Jeffrey here to get an innocent girl pregnant to get a child whom you could claim coz you couldn’t conceive your own, aren’t I right??” She asked and Evie looked at her, without replying.
She sniggered.
“Theo did as you wanted, and you still kílled the girl. She tried to get justice then, but you were hell bent in having your own way so you made sure she never got it… Right??” She asked and Evie chuckled.
“Madison Roberts??” She called and Valerie smirked.
“Surprised??” She asked and Evie laughed lowly, then she shook her head.
“Not really. You weren’t playing this game alone.” She said and Valerie smiled.
She smiled before walking to the cops.
“Do your job.” She said and they nodded.
The sergeant who was leading the team walked forward, he presented his ID card to Evie, and Evie just stared.
Valerie folded her arms on her chest, as she stood beside Jeffrey watching anxiously.
Jeffrey was also watching with his hands inserted in his pocket.
Anamika was at the dinning with Jane, watching.
“I’m sergeant Phil, we’re here based on the charges pressed…” He paused and turned to Valerie and Jeffrey.
“Valerie Keys, you’re under arrest for fake identity and misinterpretation, and also for been a source of broken home.” He said and Valerie slowly loosened her folded arms.
He took out his hands inserted in his pocket.
“What!!”
“It will be best you remain silent as whatever you say or do right now can be used against you in the law court. You have a right to an attorney, if you can’t the state will get you one. Constables!” He nudged at the cops with him and they went over her with the handcuff.
Evie smirked wickedly.
“What’s going on?? What are you doing?? We were the ones who came to report this case. We gave you evidence, you heard her confession isn’t it?? so why arrest the prosecutor?” Jeffrey demanded, blocking them from getting to Valerie, who hid behind him.
Actually, Evie told Valerie everything and Valerie was smart enough to record everything, and now today. She brought the cops to arrest her but things were going the other way round.
“You won’t tell us how to do our job, Mr Zhang. I’ll advice you simply move out of the way otherwise, we’ll be forced to apprehend you with her.” Sergeant Phil said and Evie stood up, advancing towards them.
“I told didn’t I? You’re not the only one who knows how to play game Valerie, or should I say… Madison.” She smirked.
“I must commend your acting skills, honestly I fell for it, but then I’m Evie Zhang. You cannot walk upon my smartness for long. You deceived me Valerie, trust me you’ll regret doing so. I’m just getting started with you, your dear son will pay for your sin, trust me. You’ve awoken Madison Roberts’ case, we’ll see to the end of it.” She said and Valerie shook her head.
“You’re sick Evie.” Jeffrey said and Evie chuckled, she didn’t even spare him a glance.
She turned to the cops.
“Take her away!” She commanded.
“You’re taking no one away.” Jeffrey said boldly and Evie glared at him.
“Let it go Theo. They’ll take you with me if you try fighting back. You have to stay back and find a way to clear my name.” She whispered to him.
“But–”
“Please Theo.” She said and Jeffrey reluctantly moved out of the way.
They successfully handcuffed Valerie and began taking her out.
Jeffrey looked at her sadly, tears threatening to drop from his eyes.
Evie was smiling triumphantly.
Anamika and Jane stared sadly.
Valerie was already at the door when…
“Aunt!!!” Leo yelled and she stopped walking with the rest of the cops.
She slowly turned to see him at the stairs with tears in his eye.
“Alex…” She muttered.
He began running down the stairs to her.
“Aunt Valerie! Where are you guys taking my Aunt to?” He questioned, rushing to her. He hugged her legs, since that’s were his height stopped.
“Leo.” She muttered.
“Aunt, where are they taking you to?” He asked, sniffing and Valerie pressed her lips to prevent herself from crying at such time.
If she shedded a tears, it would give Evie the impression that she has won. In as much she wanted to touch him, she couldn’t coz she was handcuffed.
“Don’t worry baby, I’ll be right back. Don’t get scared okay.” She instructed with a smile.
Leo shook his head.
“No. It doesn’t look like it. You’re lying to me. Aunt where are they taking you to??” He asked, blinking the tears in his eyes.
“No where baby. I’ll be back soon.” Valerie assured but Leo shook his head as he broke down in tears.
Evie rolled her eyes as she watched boringly.
She looked at Jane, at that same time Jane looked at her, and she communicated with her, using her eyes.
Jane nodded and went over to take Leo away from there.
“No! Leave me! Aunt Valerie!!!” He cried as Jane carried him away.
At the same time, the cops took Valerie out of the house.
“No!! Aunt!!!” He cried as he watched her retreating figure.
Jeffrey closed his eyes tightly, swallowing hard.
Anamika sighed sadly.
Evie turned to Jeffrey.
“Why are you doing this Evie??” He asked and Evie smirked.
“I’m just getting started Jeffrey. You’ll regret cheating on me with that bítch!” She said, venomously.
She glared at him, before walking away.
