Valerie’s car came to an abrupt stop in the school compound and immediately she got down, rushing to the headmistress’ office.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey could be seen with Leo in the headmistress office. He was actually carrying Leo on his lap while he spoke with her.
“I’m sorry for the disturb Mr Jeffrey. I could have searched properly before calling you. I’m sorry.” She apologized.
“You should be. You almost gave me a heart attack with the wrong alarm.” He said and she apologized.
“It’s alright. I’ll take my leave now.” He said and the headmistress nodded as he stood up with Leo.
Just then the door flung open and Valerie bursted in.
“Alex!” She screamed and the three turned to her.
Her eyes widened as she realized her outburst. Her emotions got the best of her.
Jeffrey furrowed his brows. There was tears in her and she breathing heavily as tho she had run down there.
“Miss, how can I help you?” The headmistress asked and she swallowed hard.
Her eyes went from her to Theo and from Theo to Leo. They were staring at her inquisitively.
“I- I-” She rushed to the headmistress.
“My daughter… I came here for my daughter.” She feigned tears.
“What happened to her?” Headmistress asked.
“She still haven’t gotten home.” She said and the headmistress gasped.
“What’s her name?”
“Alex Holland.” She said the headmistress hurriedly checked a book.
Valerie stylishly looked at Jeffrey who was looking at her.
She looked away. Her heart was beating fast in fear. She was wondering what was going on in his mind. Does he find anything suspicious in her??
Gawd, if it happens there’s no Alex Holland in this school then she’s gone.
“Oh… Alex Holland, a student of grade 2?” The headmistress asked and she sighed thankfully before nodding.
“Yes.” She said and the headmistress nodded before dialling a number. The person picked after a short ring and they talked for less than a minute before she ended the call.
“But ma’am, her class teacher said Alex already gone home.” She said and Valerie curled her lips.
“Really, but I haven’t seen her.” She said.
“Who are you to her??” The headmistress asked.
“I’m her mom.” She replied and Jeffrey simply shrugged before walking away Leo.
Valerie looked at him and back at the headmistress.
“Her mom?? But-”
“Forget it. I guess I mistook things. Sorry for the trouble. I have to go.” She said.
“Really?? What sort of joke is this??” The headmistress asked in surprise.
“Thanks for your time.” Valerie said and rushed out of her office.
“Hey! Who’re you? What are you saying??” The headmistress shouted behind her.
Valerie got outside to see Jeffrey putting Leo in his car, he closed the door and walked over to the other side.
He got in as well and the car took off.
She sighed tiredly.
“I should learn to control my emotions. I can’t believe I almost got caught today.” She said with a sigh.

Alecia bumped into Dolly outside Director Xu’s office.
“Blind b*tch! I thought you resigned, what are you doing here??” Dolly asked with a smirk.
She just derives joy in taunting her.
“At least I’m better off than some two faced b*tch.” Alecia said.
“Really?? You are. It’s not easy to be bad at everything, how do you do it??” Dolly asked and Alecia clenched her fist.
“No matter what you say and do Alecia, you can never be me.” She said and Alecia laughed.
“That’s the most hurtful insult ever. Even an idiot is better than you do why would I wanna be like you??” She asked and Dolly glared.
“It’s your time shine now Dolly. Give me a month, I’ll bring you down, to my feet.” Alecia said seriously and Dolly bursted to an uncontrollably laughter.
“You should see the look on your face right now. ‘I’ll bring you down, to my feet’ really?” She laughed, mimicking her.
“Just a month Dolly.” She said vehemently before walking away.
“I’ll be here waiting for you dingbat!”
Alecia walked out of the company more determined than ever. She felt a knew surge of energy in her.
Her passion for her career grew again. She must make Dolly fall at her feet. She must, she could do it.
All she has to do was ask Leroy for his help.
She flagged down a cab which she got into and the cab driver took off immediately, to her destination.
She rested her back on the chair rest and closed her eyes, blocking her thoughts.
Her phone suddenly rang, disrupting her calm rest. She opened her eyes and picked up the phone, she frowned.
Unsaved number. Who was it??
She thought, nevertheless, she picked up at the last ring tho.
“Hello.”
“Meet me at Hewitt’s Mansion now.” She heard his grumpy voice say. She needed no one to tell her, he was the one.
“Excuse you. You’re not commanding me now. Are you?” She asked.
“Now. Don’t keep me waiting.” Leroy said and ended the call.
“Seriously?? Don’t keep me waiting… Who does he think is?? Mr Rudey.” She rolled her eyes.
“How did he even get my number?” She wondered and shook her head.
“Hewitt’s Mansion please.” She told the driver who nodded.

The students watched in awe as June hugged him from behind. Fawn just stood motionless.
She suddenly broke it and smiled, and went to stand in front of him.
“I just knew you were the one. You look more handsome today hubby. Don’t tell me you’re also in business management, wow… We’re matchmade from heaven honestly.” She blabbered and Fawn just stared at her boringly.
“I know right. Can I go now?” He asked and June smiled.
“Grumpy again… Sure, see you in class.” She said and Fawn nodded and left with June standing unmoved, gawking dreamily.
Paisley and Ashley walked up to her.
“Hey!” They called June who was still staring at the direction Fawn took with a wide smile on his face.
“Who was that??” Paisley asked and June smiled.
“My future husband. The one I told you guys about.” She grinned.
“Oh…” Ashley muttered.
“I didn’t get to see his face clearly, but I’m sure he’s cute… His back view is giving.” Paisley said and June giggled.
“Let’s go to the class.” Ashley said and they nodded before walking to the class.
The three got to their lecture hall with the students still screaming their names.
June eye searched the whole class for Fawn. She finally spotted him at the back seat and winked at him.
She made to walk over there when Ashley’s voice stopped her.
“Let’s seat here.” He said pointing to a seat at the front.
“Yes, I feel like sitting in the front today.” Paisley said as she sat down and June looked at Fawn before turning to them.
“Okay.” She simply said and joined them.
The guy sitting beside Fawn noticed the eye gestures and he smiled.
“Seems like June is interested in you.” He said and Fawn didn’t say anything.
“You’re so lucky, it’s a privilege for a member of Zhang to like you.” He said and Fawn turned to him immediately.
“What did you say?” He asked.
“I said it’s a privile-”
“No, after that… A member of Zhang?? Did you…”
“Yes. June is the youngest daughter of the famous Giovanni Zhang.” The guy said and Fawn’s eyes widened.
“Damnit!!” He banged his fist on the table, turning everyone’s attention to him.
“Holy molly! Who’s that hottie? Did he just resume coz I haven’t seen that face.” Paisley said, gawking at Fawn who was ruffling his hair in frustration, it only made him look more handsome.
June was also staring.
“He’s so cute… My gawd!” Paisley muttered in awe.
“I know right. That’s my future hubby I told you about.” June said.
“Damnit! I’m crushing already.” Paisley said and June gave her a bombastic side eye.
“Berra get rid of it right now.” She said and Paisley only chuckled.
Ashley felt kinda angry as he watched her stared at Fawn, the love was clear in her eyes and that made him jealous. She never looked at him that way.
He feigned a smile before turning to the girls.
“He’s not that handsome. You two shouldn’t be gawking like fools.” He said.
“We should be, he’s drop dead gorgeous.” June said.
“Exactly, he’s playing with my heart.” Paisley said and Ashley rolled his eyes turning to the board.
Just then, their lecturer walked in and they reluctantly tore their gaze from Fawn.
Fawn sighed.
How come he got tangled with the Zhang again?? First it was his sister. This wasn’t right. Not at all.
He thought.

Alecia got down the cab and tipped the driver off. She turned to the gallant gate in front of her and exhaled before walking to it.
The guards let her in after searching her and her mouth opened wide as she gaped at the building in front her.

Leroy’s mansion was also bigger but this was bigger. The money in this house could be smelt. She was sure that her whole generation won’t be able to afford this house.
“Wow… Money is life.” She said and then she remembered why she was here.
She tried calling Leroy’s but his line wasn’t going through.
She simply walked into the house, tho she was very scared but she summoned up a lot of courage to go in.
She amazed at the inner view of the mansion but she tried her best to not to gape foolishly.
A maid walked to her and she introduced herself as Leroy’s wife.
“Where’s Leroy?” She asked.
“He hasn’t yet arrived ma’am. Make yourself comfortable while you wait for him.” She said and Alecia nodded.
She made to sit on a couch when…
“And what’s this tramp doing here?? Does this place look like a home for vagrants??” Mrs Hewitt asked walking down the stairs and Alecia looked up at her.
“Good evening ma’am.” She greeted.
“Save it!” She shunned her walking to her with an intimidating glare.
“You riffraff that got married to my son. Sl*t! Couldn’t you find yourself someone else? Why my son?” He asked and Alecia gulped down.
This was what she was actually scared of, where the heck was Leroy??
She thought he would be here.
“You useless thing, you manipulated my son into getting married to you, isn’t it. Shameless whøre!” She insulted and that got Alecia clenched her fists.
A whøre??
“You still have the guts to show your face to us, fool!” Mrs Hewitt said and Alecia smiled to her amazement.
Just then, Leroy walked in.
“Why should I be ashamed?? Your son has a high taste that’s why he chose to marry me and not the sl*t you chose for him. And our marriage was legal so I’ve got nothing to be ashamed. You should be coz you’re an irresponsible mother. Your son suddenly refused to get married to his fiancee and you didn’t even ask him for the reason, rather you dare stand to tongue lash me! Really??” She retorted.
“Don’t you dare talk to my wife that way.” Mr Hewitt said coming downstairs as well.
“And he arrives… Yunno I’m an acquired taste. If you don’t like me, acquire some taste. Bye, hope to see you never.” She said and turned to walked out of the house, that was when she saw Leroy at the door.
She rolled her eyes and intentionally bumping Leroy’s chest.
“You see how she spoke to me Leroy! That stupid thing you call a wife dare insult me!” Mrs Hewitt shouted.
“If you had gotten married to Glenys, all this wouldn’t have happened.” His dad said, rolling his eyes.
“If I had known this is why you called me, I wouldn’t have to come.” Leroy said.
“Seriously?? You’re taking sides with her now! She insulted us.” His mom complained.
“She won’t do it if you didn’t provoke her.” He defended.
“Wow, wow… Now you’re taking sides. Wow, just wow.” His mom said laughing.
“I’m not taking sides.” Leroy said.
“Whatever, I’m not accepting her as my daughter-in-law!” Mrs Hewitt said vehemently.
“Then so be it. It doesn’t change anything.” He said plainly.
“Seriously Leroy! Are you really the son I birthed??” She asked but Leroy didn’t reply.
“So it is, the moment you decide to divorce that girl, come back for me. For now, you cease to exist for me.” She said with a glare and walked away.
“Why did you suddenly refused to marry Glenys, Leroy?” His dad asked and he faced him.
“You don’t need to know.” He told him and with that, he walked out of the house.

They had three consecutive lectures for six hours straight, from 9am till 3pm and when the third lecturer rounded up and left the class, a exhausting sigh left everyone’s mouth.
“Finally!” Max exhaled, he was the guy sitting beside Fawn.
He turned to Fawn.
“Are you going to cafeteria? Let’s grab something to eat.” He said and Fawn simply nodded.
“Sure.” He said and they both made to walk out of the class when June came to them.
“Really? Are you tryna leave the class without me hubby?” She grinning and Fawn heaved.
It was surely gonna be tiring hard to cope in this school.

Leroy got to the house and made his way to their room.
As he stood by the door, he was wondering what she would be doing.
Crying??
No, no. She can’t.
He heaved before opening the door and he met her standing by the window, staring out of it.
He walked in slowly, going to stand beside her.
“Hey.” He called her attention and she looked at him before looking back out of the window.
He kinda felt calm when he saw she wasn’t crying but her expression was unreadable.
“You’re thinking of what happened earlier, are you?” He asked and she chuckled.
“Why would I? I’m already used to it.” She told him and Leroy looked at her.
She sighed and turned to him.
“I… I need your help.” She told him, it appeared like she had used a whole lot of time in gathering the courage she used to say that sentence.
“With what??”

Jeffrey could seen in the dinning room, having dinner with Alex when Evie walked into the house with Valerie. The guard followed behind carrying some luggages in.
“Careful please, take those things to the first guest room, beside Leo’s room.” She told him and he nodded going upstairs with it
Jeffrey furrowed his brows watching them.
“Mommy!” Alex squealed, rushing to her. Evie smiled, squatting to hug him.
“Hey baby.” She said, ruffling his hair.
“How was school today??” She asked as they broke the hug.
“Cool. How’re you?” He asked, smiling cutely.
“I’m good as well.” She said and he smiled. She stood up, holding his hand.
“Jane!” She called and a lady rushed out of the kitchen where she was.
“Ma’am.” She answered.
“Take my friend to the guest room beside Alex’s room. She’ll be living with us for now.” She said to her and Janet nodded.
“This way Miss.” Jane said to Valerie.
“Go with her Lerie. Freshen up and come down to join us for dinner.” She said to her Valerie nodded.
“Sure.” She said and followed Jane upstairs.
Evie walked to the dining room with Leo and sat opposite Jeffrey, while she placed Leo beside her.
Jeffrey gave her questioning stare which she understood.
“What?? I don’t owe you any explanation, you should know.” She rolled her eyes.
“Really?? We both own this house Evie, you can’t just keep doing things your own way.” Theo countered.
“She’s my friend, her home caught fire so I decided to shelter her for now.” She said and Theo looked at her.
“For how long?” He asked and Evie looked at her.
“Ion know, she can stay for a month or more. She’s my friend okay, so I can accommodate her in my house whenever I choose to.” She said and Theo only stared.
“I’ll go freshen up.” She said and stood up, leaving the dining room.
Theo looked at her disappearing figure before turning his gaze to Leo.
Valerie woke up late in the night, feeling thirsty, there was no water in her room so she sluggishly stood up, going to the kitchen.
She got downstairs only to meet Jeffrey in the living room, drinking.
She rolled her brows and simply ignored him going to the kitchen to get herself the water.
When she was done, she made to return back to her room but paused when she saw him still drinking.
She wanted to ignore him again, she really wanted to ignore him. But she found herself walking to him.
She sighed when she got them. He didn’t even act like he recognized her presence, even when she sat beside him.
“I don’t know what the problem is, but whatever it is… I don’t think drinking is the best option.” She said, but he only scoffed.
“As if.” He said, gulping a shot.
“Huh?”
“Not for everyone.” He said.
“You should go and sleep instead. Not everyone can sleep as you do, so don’t deprive yourself of it.” He told her and she stared at him.
“Don’t you get to sleep?” She asked.
“Maybe.”
Maybe?? He doesn’t get to sleep?? Wait… Does he has insomnia as well??
She wondered.
