There was a short silence for a while. No one said anything to the other.
She made to stand but he held her hand. Her eyes bulged at his next words.
“Can… Can I hug you??” He requested and she froze, her eyes widened.
“Please, just for a while, please.” He said drowsily and Valerie swallowed hard and made to stand up from the chair without replying him when his head fell on her shoulder.
He let go of her hands, wrapping his hand around her stomach while he snuggled his head on her neck.
“Please, don’t go.” He whispered.
“Please.”

“She ran away from husband and children without even thinking, then 1881, when the war started with the people of Darwin, she came to her family and they didn’t accept her back. She wanted to know which-” Theo’s head fell on her shoulder and she stopped blabbering immediately.
“Really, you’re sleeping already… Hah.” She muttered with a sigh.
A smile slowly found it’s way to her lips and she touched his cheek.
“Why didn’t say you were tired? You fell asleep just yet.” She chuckled, before making him lie on the bed.
She covered him with the duvet and made to leave when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him. She landed on his body.
“Ah! Theo!”
“Please don’t go.” He said.
“What are you saying Theo? I’m not leaving, I’m only going to check on Alex.” Madison replied.
“Let’s sleep like this.” He whispered to her ear.
“But…”
“Shush.” He whispered again and dragged the quilt off him.
He hugged her tightly to himself, with his head buried on her b**bs.
“Goodnight heartbeat.” He whispered to her.
“Goodnight muffin.” She replied with a smile, pulling up the duvet. They both drifted to sleep, cuddling in each others arm.

Valerie gulped down, feeling emotional. She stood still in his arms for some minutes before, breaking his hold from her.
She laid him on the couch and stood up and made to leave but Jeffrey grabbed her wrist again.
“Please stay.” He whispered and Valerie lips shook. She pressed her lips tightly, curling it sideways, trying to suppress her emotions.
She slowly took her right hand to his hand on her other and removed it from hers.
“Goodnight.” She muttered and left briskly.
Jeffrey felt the cold wind hit him as she left. She was a shield to him. The warmness departed and he was again released to the coldness of the night.
“I’m telling you dad. She didn’t even question me when I told her about my house catching fire. She blindly trusts me.” Valerie said as she rack through her wardrobe for a dress.
She had an airpod on her ear and her phone was on bed, it had Derek’s face on it. She was actually video calling him.
“That’s a good step Madi. I’m glad no one suspects anything fishy.” Derek said and she nodded, bringing out a dress as she walked to the bed.
“What about Theo??” Derek asked and she paused what she was doing.
Her mind flashed to last night.
“Madi??”
“He’s okay. He should be, he’s less of my concern anyways.” She said.
“Really?? You’re sure you don’t care about him?” Derek asked and she picked up the phone.
“Not now Derek.” She called his real name and Derek chuckled, getting she was not interested in the topic.
She only calls him by his name whenever she was displeased with something and is slowly getting pissed.
“Okay, if you say so.” He said and Valerie sighed.
“And Alex?” He asked.
“He is fine. I got to see him, but not alone.” She said and Derek nodded.
“I’ll call you later. Evan is calling.” She said and Derek nodded.
“Alright Madi, take care.” He said and she nodded before ending the call and picking Evan’s own.
“Good morning Miss Valerie.” Evan voice came in immediately.
“Today’s schedule. Place and time.” She requested.
Valerie walked downstairs to meet Jeffrey and Leo in the dinning room and she went to them.
“Good morning.” She greeted as she got to them. Jeffrey only nodded.
She turned to Leo and stroked his hair with a smile. He was already dressed in his uniform.
“Hi Leo. How was your night?” She asked but Leo didn’t reply her, he just picked on his food.
She looked at Jeffrey who wasn’t even looking at her and took her hand from him, dejectedly.
She looked around for Evie. Don’t they eat together??… As a family?
She thought sitting beside Leo. She stared at the so many dishes on the table before settling for one…
They were eating when the maid started started walking downstairs with so many luggages.
She raised a brow. Who was packing??
Just then Evie walked down the stairs, applying lipstick on her lips.
“Hey everyone!” She screamed, walking to the dining room.
“Evie??” Valerie called.
“I’m sorry Lerie baby, I can’t spend much time with you. I have a important business trip to go on. I’ll be meeting with the director of GLAM’S INDUSTRY in France. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, I promise to spend more time with you when I return.” She said and Valerie nodded.
“It’s fine. I understand.” She said and Evie smiled, then she turned to Leo who was looking sullen.
“Hey baby. What’s with that look? Mummy’s going for just few days okay, I promise I’ll-” Leo got down the chair before she could finish talking.
He walked to Kian, his driver. He was the one in charge of picking and dropping Leo off at school. He was actually waiting for Leo at the door.
“Let’s go Mister.” He said slowly and Kian nodded.
“Sure my boy.” Kian said and held his hand, taking him to the car.
Evie feigned a smile and turned to them. Jeffrey rolled his eyes at her, standing up. He simply picked up his briefcase on the chair and left the house as well leaving Valerie and Evie alone in the dinning room.
“Great.” Evie muttered.
“Alright Lerie, I’ll leave now. You don’t mind looking over my son for me?” She asked and Valerie smiled.
“Of course not.” She said and Evie smiled.
“Thanks.” Evie said.
“Welcome.” Valerie replied and Evie smiled before living the dining room and the mansion.
Valerie exhaled immediately she left.
“Okay, I must say… This is the most complicated family ever. Seriously??” She said.

Alecia rolled from one end of the bed to the other, grumbling in her sleep. The morning sun pierced in her eyes and she drew up the quilt, covering her face.
She suddenly pulled it off her face and her eyelids flung opened immediately, her eyes widened in a form of an ‘O’.
She immediately sat up and her eyes darted to the wall clock.
“10am!!! What!!!” She hurriedly got down the bed, wearing her flip-flops.
“Leroy!!!” She shouted, running downstairs.
“Leroy!, Leroy!!, Leroy!!!” She called, ruffling her hair cràzily.
Nora rushed out of the kitchen immediately.
“Ma’am… Alecia.” She called.
“Nora, where’s Leroy?” She asked and Nora heaved.
“He already left for work.” She said and Alecia slapped her forehead.
“That jerk!” She gritted.
“Anything the problem??”
The doorbell rang and she looked at the door.
“I’ll go get it.” Nora said and went to the door, she opened it and some set of persons dressed in the same outfit walked in. They were five in numbers.
“Who are you??” Alecia asked, arching her brows.
“Good day ma’am. You’re Mrs Leroy Hewitt, am I right??” The lady who appeared to be their leader asked and Alecia hesitantly nodded affirmatively.
“Good. Well, we’re from GLAMOUR’S BOUTIQUE. We’re here to change your wardrobe.” They said and Alecia furrowed her brows.
“My wardrobe??” She asked and they nodded.
“Yes. Please show us your room.” The lady said.
“But I didn’t-”
“Come this way please.” Nora interrupted, directing them to her room.
“Nora!, Nora?” She called and made to go after them but her phone rang and she picked it up without even checking the caller’s ID.
“Hello-”
“My gawd! I love you Alecia!” Alvira screamed from the other side.
“Hey, what’s up with this new love??” Alecia asked.
“You asked for mom’s treatment to be continued, didn’t you? You finally raised the money for her treatment isn’t it?” Alvira asked and Alecia furrowed her brows.
“What- what treatment??”
“Mom’s surgery is being performed right now. The doctor said her bills have been settled and they can start up her treatment right now, so…” Alvira said and Alecia’s eyes widened.
“Really??” She asked.
“Yes! I’m so happy Lecia! Thanks.” She said and Alecia held her head in confusion.
“But how did you get the money sis, hope you didn’t do anything you’ll regret?” Alvira asked.
“I’ll call you back Alvira.” Alecia and ended the call.
In as much as she refused to believe it, her mind wouldn’t stop saying it…
Leroy!
But she didn’t tell him about her mom… Who could it be??

Fawn got to school thirty minutes before the first lecture that morning.
He simply sat in the classroom, pressing his phone to while away time. Max hasn’t arrive.
Paisley was making a video when he entered and the moment she saw him, she ended the video and rushed to him.
June hasn’t arrived so she wanted to make good use of the opportunity she had.
Fawn sensed the presence before him and he raised his head to see who it was.
“Hey handsome.” Paisley waved with a grin which looked annoying to Fawn.
Anger flashed in his eyes the moment he saw her, he recognizes her very well. Paisley, Evie’s fan president. He hated her mainly because she was among those who humiliated his sister.
“I’m Paisley, and you?” She asked, stretching forth her hand for a handshake.
Fawn looked at the hand and rolled his eyes away. Paisley felt embarrassed by that act of his.
Nevertheless, she continued.
“Have anyone ever told you’re handsome? I like you!”
“Tch! You just insulted me right now. Did I tell you I do flat things??” He asked and Paisley arched her brows.
“Pardon??”
“Please excuse me… I love seeing good things in my life.” He said and the people who were around and heard what he said laughed.
Paisley banged her hand on the table.
“You fool! Do you know who am I?” She rasped and Fawn looked at her.
“Who are you please? Tell me, I don’t know.” He said, looking intrigued.
“I’m-”
“Wow… So you really wanna tell me you’re a fool?? Wow, the courage for me.” He said and
“All I see is standing in front of me, screaming for my attention. Don’t worry, you got it but you see that door. I want you to be at the other side.” He said to her Paisley gritted.
“F**k you!” She yelled rushing out of the class in shame with the students laughing hard at her.
She bumped into June at the door.
“Paisley-” She ran away.
June furrowed her brows, contemplating if she should run after her or go into the class but at the end, she concluded on going into the class.

June smiled broadly the moment she saw Fawn was already in the class and she didn’t take another second before rushing to him.
“Hey.” She said sitting beside him.
“I didn’t ask you to sit.” He said and June smiled.
“I don’t need your permission to sit either.” She said shifting closer and Fawn looked at her.
“What are you doing?” He asked.
“Nothing.” She shook her head.
“What’s your name??” He asked.
“Really?? You really don’t know my name??” She asked and he gave her the ‘Will you tell me or not?’ look.
“Okay fine… June.” She said.
“I know it’s June, your surname??” He asked and June looked at him.
“Why??” He looked at her and she sighed before saying.
“Zhang.”
“Damnit! It’s true after all.” He said and she looked at him.
“What’s true?”
“You shouldn’t have done this.” He said.
“Done what?”
“I’m in this school because of you isn’t it?? You helped me get this admission right??” He asked.
“Stop it. Don’t feel like you owe me-”
“I’m not feeling like I owe you or anything-” Just then the lecturer walked into the class. Ashley and Max followed him behind.
“Let’s talk after class.”
“Sure.”

Jeffrey could be seen in front of his laptop, typing. His gaze didn’t leave the screen for once.
A knock came in suddenly and his PA walked in the moment he permitted him.
“The information is ready boss.” He said and Jeffrey looked up.
“Is it true??” He asked and he shook his head.
“Actually boss. Valerie chose to keep her personal life private. No one knows her parents and siblings. Where she lives and her income are also private. So I don’t if the information regarding the fire outbreak in her house is true. I’m still trying to find out, but nothing seems to be working.” He said and Jeffrey furrowed his brows in deep thought.
“She could have called the fire fighters or something. There’s gat to be something. She’s a popular figure in celebrity world.” Jeffrey said.
“I know, I’m still searching.” He said and Jeffrey nodded.
He knows it’s normal for a celebrity to keep their lifestyle private but why doesn’t anyone know anything, not even a slightest information about??
