EPISODE 31
THE GILBERT RESIDENT
immediately king came back from the kitchen Camila asked him what he meant by
CAMILA
what did you mean,?
KING
I haven’t said anything
CAMILA
you said sometimes before you left, you said “what if I say I do”?
KING
oh that? it’s nothing, your peanut is here.
CAMILA
I’m press I want to pee…. can you help me up?
KING
of course my lady
CAMILA
my lady? is that not what they use for royalty?
KING
who said that?
CAMILA
said what?
KING
that my lady is used for only royalties? even if it is…. have you forgotten my name?
CAMILA
(She smiled)
King
KING
that’s correct, now let’s help you up.
He helped her down from the bed, to the bathroom before he came outside to wait for her… she locked the door from inside and pee, after she finished, she flushed and wash her hands before she came outside.
King helped her back to the bed and fixed the drip back on her.
Not long their order arrived, he went downstairs to get their order, he paid the delivery man and w£t back inside.
KING
your food is here
CAMILA
yeah, I’m very excited
KING
(He chuckled)
is it this sickness that her made you like this or you are naturally a fun person?
CAMILA
I’m very fun to be with, but around people I’m comfortable with.
KING
so what you are trying to tell me now is, you are comfortable with me?
CAMILA
I think so….. shall we eat?
King opened one pack of food for her to eat, he helped her to seat on the bed before he pull the food closer to her.
CAMILA
Are you going to work tomorrow?
KING
and leave you for who to take care of? the gate man?
CAMILA
I feel so bad doing this to you, just a week that I started working here I have caused so much trouble for you.
KING
you make me very sad when you talk like this, I know you are bless with supernatural power, but it doesn’t mean you ain’t human and can’t get sick….. everyone can fall sick, so why should I be mad at you because nature is taking it’s course?
CAMILA
you are just too un-derstanding and it’s beginning to scare me.
KING
scare you? that I’m faking it or I might change once you get well?
CAMILA
far from it, I’m scared that I might just get used to all this……
KING
and what is wrong if you get use to it?
CAMILA
(she smiled)
you know it’s wrong, what if your wife comes back?
KING
(He smiled)
now you sound like a jealous girlfriend
CAMILA
I’m not jealous, why should I even be?
KING
please eat your food before it get cold.
CAMILA
I haven’t seen you eaten anything since morning, I want you to eat with me.
KING
I’m not….
CAMILA
hungry? is that not what you were going to say? I’m not hungry too.
KING
Because I’m not hungry?
CAMILA
I’m not hungry too, don’t ask me anything.
King opened the pizza and tear one part and bite it, he gave it to Camila too and she bite from it.
KING
you can now eat, I’m eating too.
CAMILA
the drip is on my right hand, I can’t feed myself.
KING
I wasn’t going to let you feed yourself in the first place.
King pulled her to seat in a way that her body was relaxing on his…. he fed he till she was filled, he cleared the place they are and took the remains to the kitchen.
He came back and helped Camila to lie back on the bed…. he laid beside her, not very close but Camila moved closer and placed her head on his che-st.
CAMILA
i like the sound of your heartbeat
KING
(He chuckled)
you like the sound of my heartbeat?
CAMILA
yes na, it’s beating very fast but sweetly.
KING
thanks for liking the sound of my heartbeat… can we now sleep?
CAMILA
I’m not feeling sleepy, in fact I want to see a movie
KING
it’s almost 10pm Camila
CAMILA
we have been sleeping since morning, let’s see a movie please.
King got up and took the tv remote, he turn on the TV, luckily for camila there were showing a Nigeria movie on African magic.
CAMILA
you know since you showed me this room as mine own, I have never turn on this TV
KING
really? and why is that?
CAMILA
because I don’t know how to
KING
you should have just ask someone to as-sist you….. I put TV’s in all the room so no one would have to say this person is watching what I don’t like or so.
CAMILA
cool!!!! this movie seem interesting.
they kept quiet and watched the movie, it was the first time king was watching a Nigeria movie, he always finds it as childish drama and change the channel anytime they are showing it…. but tonight he had no choice because that was what his madam wanted.
Anytime he was dozing off Camila would touch him and he will wake up again
CAMILA
are you sleeping?
KING
No, I’m not
CAMILA
is like you don’t like Nigeria movies, do you?
KING
I’m not a fan
CAMILA
I like American movies too…. we can watch if that’s what you want.
KING
no, it’s fine, let’s watch this one.
Camila knew he would never agree to her Changing it even though he doesn’t like the movie, that’s how modest her boss is…. she carried the TV remote that was beside king and changed the TV channel.
KING
like seriously you didn’t have to change it
CAMILA
I didn’t change it because of you, I was already bored watching the movie
KING
are you sure?
CAMILA
I’m very sure.
The first scene was a love making scene, Camila immediately felt shy and nervous, she wanted to change the channel but shame did not allow her too.
She didn’t say a word neither did king, they finished watching the scene….. immediately Camila changed the channel and took in a de-ep breathe
KING
why didn’t you change it if you weren’t comfortable with it?
CAMILA
(she covered her face)
leave me alone ooh
KING
(He chuckled)
or should we do our own?
He said and turn to face her, his eyes starimg de-ep into hers… Camila could hear the sound of her own heart beat, she joined her hands together and was ru-b-bing it against each other….. she gently closed her eyes, probably waiting for what king would do next, king smiled and used his two finger to spa-nk her forehead…. she screamed and opened her eyes
CAMILA
ouch, it hurts
KING
(he chuckled)
you look so adorable when you do that “ouch”
Camila felt so shy, what was she expecting? that her boss was truly going to make love to her on a sick bed? while she’s receiving drip? was it how little she thought of her boss? beside why will he even ki-ss or make love to someone like her? his a rich and handsome man…. why would he tried it with someone like her?

The next morning Camila felt very strong so she dash into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for Jasmine to eat before going to school…. luckily for her her drip finished around 2am, so she was able to wake up without disturbing king.
She went to Jasmine’s room to wake her up for school, Jasmine was surprised to see her.
JASMINE
how did you get here?
CAMILA
sorry, I knocked but you were de-ep asleep
JASMINE
that’s not what I mean, you were sick last night, where is dad?
CAMILA
his still sleeping, I sneaked out to prepare breakfast
JASMINE
you should have woken dad up, you know you ain’t strong yet to do this
CAMILA
now you sound just like your father, get up you will be late for school…. beside you told me last night you miss my cooking.
JASMINE
I miss your cooking, but you ain’t
CAMILA
then go freshen up for school please…. I will go wake your daddy up too.
Jasmine accepted and went into the bathroom to take her bathe.
Camila went downstairs and took breakfast in a tray and a cu-p of hot chocolate tea and took to her room, she kept it on the table and climbed the bed.
King was so de-ep asleep that he didn’t even know it was morning, or Camila had left the bed… he rolled and grabbed her making Camila to fall on his body….. she felt awkward, and uncomfortable… she stayed still and was staring at king’s cute face as he sleeps.
She was so tempted to touch his pointed nose, she resisted it, when she couldn’t resist it again she decided to touch.
Before her hand could reach king’s nose he grabbed her hand while his eyes were still close and ki-ssed it.
Camila quickly pulled her hand away from his grip and moved from the bed… king opened his eyes.
CAMILA
you are awake, good morning
KING
it’s morning already?
CAMILA
breakfast is set, seat up let’s eat.
King jumped up from the bed and sat down, realization just hit him and he un-derstood what Camila had just said.
KING
don’t tell me you already made breakfast
CAMILA
I woke up since 5am and couldn’t sleep again so I decided to cook….
KING
this smells nice, but I’m mad at you…. why did you have to cook when you know you ain’t strong.
CAMILA
I feel very strong this morning, please get up and eat before it gets cold.
KING
I nee-d to go check up on my daughter, make sure she’s ready for school.
Jasmine was pas-sing Camila’s door at that moment when she heard what her father was saying, she quickly chipped in.
JASMINE
I’m ready for school…. good morning daddy
She said from outside the door and went downstairs
KING
you went to wake her up?
CAMILA
of course, immediately I finished cooking, I went to her room to wake her up.
KING
thank you
CAMILA
no sir, I should be the one thanking you for taking care of me….. thank you for the care and
KING
attention? is that not what you were going to say?
CAMILA
(She smiled)
yes, that was what I was going to say.
KING
I’m hungry, let’s enjoy this delicacy you prepared for us.
CAMILA
so, are you not going to the office this morning?
KING
I really nee-d to rest, I’m very stressed…. maybe tomorrow I will go and check what’s happening in the office.
CAMILA
don’t worry, today I’m not going to stress you because I feel very okay.
KING
I don’t like the way your hair is looking, so get ready, we will go out later in the day so you could make it
CAMILA
I don’t make my hair ooh
KING
And why is that?
CAMILA
because it will pain me
KING
(He laughed)
for a minute you got me scared there, I thought maybe you will lose your powers if you make it.
CAMILA
nothing like that, hair making is painful so I don’t make it.
KING
but it’s not more painful than cramp
CAMILA
what is cramp?
KING
menstrual pain
CAMILA
I don’t know because I don’t feel pain
KING
oh okay…. but I refuse, you will make your hair… don’t worry, I will tell them to go easy on you.
CAMILA
you are my boss, whatever you say.
KING
I’m full, thanks for the food…. I will be right back…. let me check up on my daughter.
Camila nodded in agreement, king came down from the bed and ran downstairs to meet his princess…. he ki-ssed her on the cheeks
KING
how are you baby?
JASMINE
I’m fine daddy, hope you slept well?
KING
I did, hope my princess slept well too?
JASMINE
yes daddy, I slept well…. I’m late, I will see you later today…. love you
she said and got up from the chair she sat and picked her school bag…. king remembered the doctor’s appointment so he told her to be ready that he would pick her from school so they could go to the hospital together…. Jasmine agreed and left….king helped his daughter to clear the table before he went into his room to brush and freshen up.
THE BENSON’S RESIDENT
All throu-ghthe night Jordan begged Anna to come out so they could talk but Anna refused, she told him to go away, she was hating herself for not getting angry that her brother inlaw ki-ssed her.
The next morning she went to Jordan’s door and knocked, Jordan had just came out from the shower, he just took his bathe and came out with towel around his wai-st.
Before Jordan could even ask her to come inside, she already barged in on him… she immediately looked away when she saw that he was shirtless.
ANNA
Why didn’t tell me you were half nak-ed?
JORDAN
you didn’t even give me the chance to answer before you entered.
ANNA
put on something, we nee-d to talk
JORDAN
okay
Jordan walked to his wardrobe is and picked a shirt and wore, and wore a trouser before he came to stand in front of Anna
JORDAN
before you say anything, I want you to know that I didn’t ki-ss you last night because I felt pity for you, or because I’m trying to take advantage of you…. I ki-ssed you because I wanted to.
ANNA
because you wanted to? like you did not know I’m your brother’s wife?
JORDAN
this sounds crazy, but Anna I like you, I know it’s just a week since we have known each other, but my feelings are real and strong…. it’s surprising to me too because ever since Juan and I broke up, I never gave any relationship a chance… but the moment I set my eyes on you … my heart skipped and at that moment I knew I have fallen into a wrong trap…. I know it’s wrong, even though Alex had been an as-s, his still my brother and doesn’t deserve such from me…. but I care about you Anna, I want to live the rest of my life protecting you… caring for you, showing you love that you never thought existed.
Anna was shocked to her bones, that was not what she had in mind when she came for them to talk… Jordan seem like a nice and caring guy, but Alex was more sweeter only for her to find out his true colors when it was already late.
