Danica’s Pov:
“And this is your clas-sroom” the young pretty lady said as we stood in front of a big room.
Oh…wow!
“Um…thank you, ma’am” I replied and gulped nervously.
G©sh! There were so many students in it. How do I go in?
“You’re welcome” the lady said and left.
Oh boy! She was really leaving me alone. Geez!
I stared anxiously. There were pretty boys and girls in the clas-s, all chit chatting. And they looked so clas-sic. How do I fit in, huh?
Maybe…coming to this school was a bad idea because I…don’t think I really fit in. I think my standards are too low.
Oh! Danica, what’s wrong with me?
“And why are you just standing there like a road block?” I suddenly heard a voice ask and my heart skipped as I turned to have a look.
Oh! They were three girls. But…the one in the middle.
Wait…she looked familiar.
“You??” She skrie-ked, wearing a crumpled look.
Oh. She’s obviously recognized me. But where have I seen her before?
“What’re you doing?” She scoffed.
“You know her, Bitna?” One of the girls with her asked.
Oh….!! Bitna!
Now, I recognize her. The rude lady at the banquet.
“Of course, I do. This was the clumsy maid that spilled drink on my dress at the banquet, girls. The one I told you about” she replied, so much hate in her eyes.
Oh, my! She schools here?
“What’s she doing here? And why does she have our uniform?” The third lady asked.
“Is she dumb?” Another snapped and I figured I had to say something.
G©sh.
“I’m….I’m sorry, ma’am. Sorry for what happened to your dress at the banquet” I said with my gaze low. And she scoffed.
“And you really think I nee-d your pathetic sorry? Just what’re you doing here? You’re a maid, right? How is it possible you’re with the uniform?” She scrawled.
“I…I was only a chef at the banquet, ma’am.

And about the uniform, I actually pas-sed the scholarsh!pexams. So, I….”.
“What??” One of her friends skrie-k.
“A commoner’s gonna be in the same clas-s with us?”
Oh God!
I gulped ha-rd and tried as much as possible not to stare at any of them. They were just too intimid@t!ng.
“We nee-d to
go in. The mistress is coming” the third lady whispered and I lifted my eyes to see a fat woman walking our way, some books in her hands.
I looked back at the Bitna and she was glaring at me.
G©sh! If only eyes could kill…
But what’s her problem anyway?
“Just be careful to stay as far away from me as possible” she snapped and finally walked in with her crew – majestically.
I let out a de-ep breath as they did and at that time, the fat woman had gotten to where I was.
“Hey; why are you just standing here?” She asked, her
voice as grumpy as she looked.
“Sorry, ma’am” I bowed a little and proceeded into the room
I guess her pres£nce motivated me because I don’t think I’d have been able to walk in on my own.
Half of the students in the clas-s turned their eyes to me as I walked in, timidly.
I quic-kly searched for an empty locker and found one in the middle.
The lady beside it glared at me, but I ignored her and took it anyway. I just nee-ded a place to sit.
“Good morning, students”
The fat woman who was alre-ady standing in front of the clas-s said.
“Good morning, Mrs Hayoon” few of the students mumbled.
The lady beside me was operating her phone while chewing her gum uglily. And since she was close to me, I was able to have a peep and my heart skipped when I noticed she was having a look at my br@celet.
Not my current br@celet, but the missing one. – the one Prince Nathan had put up on media.
Oh my! I almost forgot I was still wanted by the prince.
I quic-kly looked at my wrist and discovered the one grandma had given this morning to me, was carefully covered by my long sleeve.
Ah! Thank goodness the uniform was long sleeve.
“I was made to un-derstand there’s a new student in our midst today” the fat woman said and again, my heart skipped.
Oh…no. Don’t tell me she’s referring to me.
“Danica….Williams”” she called out, looking into one of the books in front of her.
My eyes jumped to my mouth as everyone stared at me, like they actually knew I was the new student. Well, of course, I was probably the newest face in clas-s.
“Danica Williams, can you stand on your feet, plea-se?” She was called again, and I f0rç£d myself to stand.
I was so scared she
was gonna ask me out for a proper introduction, but thankfully, she didn’t.
“Okay. Welcome to Royal High. I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy your time here. You may have your seat” she spoke so matter – of – factly and I loved that.
“Thank you, ma’am” I bowed my head a little and took my seat.
Oops! That was so scary.
“So”, she continued and went over to the board with a marker.
And when she wrote the subject, that was when I realized she was the chemistry teacher.
“We’ll be going straight to Organic chemistry today. And about my test, it’ll be coming up in a few days from now.
“Like I’ve earlier said, you’ll be paired up with p@rtners, people you’d have to meet up and work with, to provide results, cause that’s going to be p@rt of the test. You….”
“I wish I get paired up with Chija” I heard a lady giggle from behind.
“Foolish girl. You can’t wish to get paired up with Prince Nathan. You’re wasting it up on a nob©dy” someone who was obviously her seat mate replied her.
They were almost whispering.
“Huh? Are you kidding me? The prince ha-rd ly attends clas-ses. What makes you think he’d even get paired with anyone?” The first lady replied.
I listened with ra-pt attention, but they didn’t say any other thing and I focused on the teacher
“I’m alre-ady working on the list and it’ll be out in two days from now. So, get re-ady.
“And for today clas-ses….”
She opened a big book in front of her.
“Bring out your Organic chemistry text book and turn to page 67”.
Everyone got busy as they started opening their bags.
I sighed and did same, grateful I had everything I nee-ded in the school.
I brou-ght out my text book and turned over to the instructed page and the woman commenced teaching.
The clas-s was actually fun because organic chemistry was kind of my favorite.
I enjoyed every bit of it and when the woman was done, she rounded up with an as-signment which was to be submitted the next morning.
Hmm.
We had two more clas-ses after she left and when I checked the wall clock in the clas-s,, it was few minutes to 11.
Oh. My text books.
I stood up immediately with my bag and left the clas-s. I didn’t want to default in anyway on my first day in school.
I still recalled the way to the principal’s office. And taking the stairs, I finally arrived.
Oh! Thank goodness. He was actually in at the moment.
I knocked lightly on the door and his de-ep voice ushered me in.
I pushed it open and walked in.
“Good morning, sir” I greeted him, even if tho we’d alre-ady greeted some hours ago.
“Oh! Miss Danica. You’re here for the books, right?” He asked and I nodded with a light smile.
“plea-se, come take a seat”.
He was busy with his system as I walked in and took a seat, opposite him as usual.
His eyes didn’t leave the system until he was done and stood up.
“I’ll be right back. nee-d to get something important, alongside the book. Stay put” he said and walked away, before I’d even comprehend what he was saying.
Huh? He was leaving me all alone in the office? G©sh.
I sighed and fiddled with my nails as I waited.
Royal High.
Will I ever get to make a friend here? I mean….the students are too clas-sy and…pompous. How do I blend in?
I thought silently for a long time after a while, I heard the door open from behind again.
Ahh!! Thank goodness , he was back.
But the walking steps were different, and I suspected it must’ve been someone else.
I swiftly turned to have a look and I swear, my heart st©pped beating when I saw it was the prince.
My eyes drooped.
Oh my God!
No.
Prince Nathan….!

Danica’s Pov:
I felt my heart jump out of my che-st as I stared at him – Prince Nathan – walking into the office, his face glum and his eyes, low.
I could clearly see his guards waiting outside the door.
Oh my God! What’s he doing here??? Is this a dream??
I couldn’t st©p myself from staring at him the whole time until he had gotten close and taken the seat next to mine. He didn’t even bother to look at me.
“G….Good morning, my prince” I f0rç£d myself to say, my heart racing so fast.
This was the same guy I’d helped in the woods – the same guy looking for me. Gosh! What if he recognizes me?
“Yeah, morning” he replied with a sigh and s£nt his f!ngersinto his dark glittering hair.
He looked so handsome and everything around him screamed royalty.
He had two rings on a p@rticular f!nger on his right hand, one on his index f!nger on his left hand. And he had a tiny sparkling ring on his right ear.
G©sh! With the way it glittered, I was pretty sure it was pure gold.
But thinking of it….this is the same guy that’s looking for me!!!
The prince?!
“Where did he go?” He glanced at me and asked and I instantly knew he was referring to the principal.
But.,..I was too dumbfounded to reply at once. I couldn’t tell if I was being muddled by his voice or the question. He was actually talking to me…!
‘I..I…don’t know, my prince. But, I think…I don’t know. But I’m sure he’ll be back soon” I gulped nervously after the successful stuttering.
I swear, I felt all my b©dy vibr@te when the prince stared directly into my face, for a long time. Oh God…no
“It’s you…” He suddenly said and my heart st©pped beating.
Oh goodness. Its me what??
My eyes were almost popping out, staring at him anxiously. My forehead was alre-ady sweating.
“You’re the lady we had almost knocked down the other day, isn’t it?” He asked and I let out the breath I’d been holding, hoping he doesn’t notice.
“Y…Yes, my prince. Its me” I replied with a bow, my heart still racing fast from the previous fear.
I’d expected him to turn away, but surprisingly, he continued staring keenly at me.
Oh goodness. Should I be surprised?
I heard him mutter something to himself before turning away , facing the table in front of him.
Okay…that was so close. And scary too.
He brou-ght his phones on the table and that was when I realized he actually had two phones. Wow!
One was an apple phone. And the other, I didn’t know the br@nd.
He took the apple phone and started operating it, but the distance between our seats wouldn’t let me have a peek.
I eyed his f!ngersas they moved on the phone, and they were so straight and neat. G©sh! Everything about this guy seemed almost perfect.
Immediately, the door opened and I turned to see it was the principal. Ah!! Thank goodness.
But…surprisingly, I found myself wishing he had delayed a little bit longer. Perhaps….admiring the prince was kinda fun to me.
G©sh! What am I even thinking?
“Prince Nathan. You’re here?” He said as he walked from behind, upto the desk.
‘Obviously” the prince just mumbled, his eyes not leaving his phone.
“Miss Danica” the principal called as he took his seat, in front of us. He had a book with him.
“Hope I didn’t take too long. Here’s your book” he stretched the book out to me and I collected it gratefully.
“Thank you,,sir”,I replied and stood up.
“You’re welcome,dear. Enjoy your day”.
I glanced at the prince who kept his eyes glued to his phone. And not knowing what I was expecting, I turned around and left.

Seriously, I’m beginning to suspect the prince uses some sort of charm around him because I couldn’t st©p thinking about him as soon as I left the house.
His voice kept repla-ying in my head, his killer look, his cool scent…everything. Although, that wasn’t the first time I was being so close to him, but I just felt something….g©sh! I don’t even know. But…I couldn’t st©p thinking about him.
I guess, now I un-derstand why most ladies love him more than his brothers. Seriously, He’s at the t©p when it comes to charm.

The rest of the day at school – nothing big happened. Just clas-ses and break time.
During break time (lunch), I just found a quiet place to sit because I wasn’t having any money on me to treat myself.
I beguiled the quiet time by re-ading a book and thank goodness, nob©dy c@m£ to bully me again. I just felt so odd in the midst of these rich kids.
When lunch time was over, I returned to my clas-sroom and after some more lectures, the school c@m£ to an end for the day.
Although, the principal had said a tour guide would be provided to me to show me round the school, I didn’t see anyone.
*
I took a cab home with the last money I had and after a very long while, I got to my street.
I dropped from the cab and walked the rest of the distance home. And as I did, I couldn’t st©p thinking about the prince.
But thinking of it…the prince was actually looking for me.
Me – Danica. What have I done to deserve that, huh? Being looked for by a charming prince like that?
Oh geez! If it wasn’t for grandma….
I smiled sheepishly to myself as I recalled our encounter at the office.
Although, our conversation had been very brief, but they meant a lot to me.
I could remember the first question he asked:
“Where did he go?”
Oh.,….!
His voice still echoed in my head and left so many goosebu-mps.
Then, his second question:
“You’re the lady we had almost knocked down the other day, isn’t it?”
Oh!!!! How I’d wished to tell him I was the same lady he was looking for.
Oh geez!! Danica.
I bit my nails in excitement and didn’t even realize I had alre-ady gotten to the house. My eyes had been glued to the floor the whole time.
I smiled as I lifted my head but suddenly st©pped walking when I saw something alarming in front of me.
Not something…but someone.
I froze at my sp©t as my hands bec@m£ feeble instantly, every calcus in my head spinning.
He was staring at me, his hands in his pockets.
And in a faint voice, I called out in shock:
“Scott?”

Danica’s Pov:
For the first time in a long time, I felt an old scar reopen. I felt hurt.
My hands bec@m£ weak as I prayed silently it was a dream. What’s he doing here?
“Danica” he finally called, a stun smile on his face.
I remained frozen on the sp©t where I stood as he started walking towards me, his dark eyes not leaving my face.
“I’ve been waiting for a long time” he said, now standing in front of me.
“The door was locked.
I stared at him, so many questions to ask:
What’re you doing here? How did you know my current location? What do you want?
I was tem-pted to scream the numerous questions at him, but I just took in a de-ep breath and asked simply;
“What’re you doing here?”
Heaven knows I was trying so ha-rd to control my anger.
“Really?” He scoffed.
“That’s the first thing you can say to me after so long?”
“Don’t pl@ygames with me, Scott. What the hell are you doing here?? What do you want?? And….how did you know I was here??” I was almost yelling at him.
He sighed and spoke more calmly.
“I’ve been looking for you, Danica” his voice was a little low and pathetic.
“For months now. I had gone to your formal place but they told me….”
“Cut the cra-p, Scott. I’m not interested. What do you want?” I asked irascibly and he sighed again and di-pped his hand back into his trou-ser pockets.
“Danica….” He called again, a glint of remorse in his eyes.
“I know I’ve hurt you so much; So much, its beyond forgiveness. But I want you to know I’m truly sorry, Danica, for everything I did.
“For the past few years, I’ve not been myself – remembering…what happened between us. I’m truly sorry, Danica. I was so stupid and foolish back then. But I want you to know I’ve changed. And I’m here for good now”.
Immediately, I $l@pped him. An angry stingy $l@p, ma-king sure it was ha-rd enough.
He tilted his face to the side, then looked back at me – slowly.
“You’ve changed?” I asked, trying as much as possible to prevent my voice from quivering.
“Seriously, Scott. You’ve changed?” I scoffed and shook my head.
“And how does your pres£nt change, change the past, Scott? How???
How does it fix all the damages you’ve caused??”
“Danica…”
“You used me and dumped me, all in the name of a worthless bet!!” I yelled at him, unable to hold the tears anymore.
“You made me a laughing stock, turned me into a fool, Scott!! You ruined me!!!”.
“Danica, plea-se….”
“I trusted you, Scott!” I cried out.
“I gave you my dignity!! But in the end, what did you do?? You ru-bbe-d it in my face and made me look cheap!! You’re a m©nster!!!”
Tears streaked my face as I never thought I could yell this way.
The memories….they hurt so bad. So bad.
I bent my head and wept profusely, and he was silent – probably eaten up by guilt.
“Danica…” He cooed and tried tou-ching me, but I sl@pped his hand away.
“Don’t ever t©uçh me, Scott”,I said sternly, my eyes alre-ady red.
“No matter what, I’ll never forgive you. So, just stay away from me”. And with that, I ran away, going far from the house to cry more.

Duri’s Pov:
“Is the King getting any better?” Mother asked as we sat together at the dining, eating bliasfully.
I had come to pay her a visit as usual in her secret house.
“He’s not, mother. It’s almost getting hurt” I replied lowly, taking some wine
She sighed pathetically.
“Of course, it would” she mumbled and I arched a brow at her.
“The 12th disciple is the only cure he could get at the moment. And I wish I had a single idea where she could be’.
‘But….isn’t there a little hint? Anything at all that could help?” I asked and she stared down at the table for a while, in thought.
“Well, one sure fact is this – each disciple had a mark on their w@!sts according to their numbers. So, definitely, the 12th disciple would also have a mark on her w@!st – with the number 12” she said and I nodded in acknowledgement.
She continued:
“The 12th disciple….”
She squirked her brows.
“I’m trying to figure out the little I can remember her. There has to be something….”
I sipped from my wine again while I watched her face keenly. And suddenly, she g@sped, her eyes beaming at me.
‘Son” she called with, ecstatic.
“I think I know a way you can find the 12th disciple”.
