“Melissa don’t say things like that plea-se” Mason uttered as tries roll down his eyes.
“You can’t die just like this” Mason sobbe-d as Melissa began to lose her breathe.
“I can’t let you leave me like this” Mason sobbe-d and carried Melissa on his arm and ran to Miles’s chambers.
“What happened to Melissa” Miles asked confused as Mason la-id her down on the be-d.
“Miles,she was attacked just like princess Luna was. You nee-d to evolve your healing powers and heal her,we can’t let Melissa die like this” Mason sobbe-d and Miles panicked as he sobbe-d with Mason.
“Miles what’s wrong” Mason asked confused.
“Mason it’s like I lost my healing powers” Miles uttered almost in a whisper.
“What do you mean? I don’t quite get you? Melissa is losing her breath” Mason sobbe-d.
“Nevermind,I will try my best” Miles said nervously as he opened the injury, placed his hand on it but it didn’t get healed.
“plea-se come on,you can’t abandon me at a moment like this” Miles said sobbing as he tried to heal her but no progress.
“Supreme… You have to…be… strong okay. I’m sorry” Melissa sobbe-d faintly as her eyes began to close but Mason wi-de them open.
“You can’t close your eyes, plea-se Miles,do something” Mason yelled sobbing.
“Melissa you can’t leave us” Miles sobbe-d.
I’ve lost father,I can’t lose my best friend as well, plea-se just once, heal Melissa. Miles thought with his eyes closed as tears roll down his cheeks and the fireflies appeared.
NEXT MORNING
MILES POV
I summoned Everyone to the castle.
“Melissa was killed last night… She was buried early this morning” I uttered with an heavy heart as tears roll down my cheeks.
“Melissa got killed last night but who would wanna end her life” Jaxo uttered confused.
The palace was swept with quietness.
“When Melissa suggested we investigate the princess’s death,I disagreed, I totally put a blind to it because of past grudge for my Aunt. Melissa was killed just the same way Aunt got killed. We’re opening the investigation of Melissa’s death. I can’t let what happened to Melissa happen to someone else. Melissa was like a sister to me and my best friend. I will avenge her with the last drop of blood in me” I threatened wiping off my tears.
Mason couldn’t make it to the meeting because he was mourning Melissa’s death.
“We promise to make sure justice is served” The chiefs as-sured.
“We have to find out who the black sheep is. We’re beginning to lose precious lives” Lila said seriously.
The enemy is definitely among us here but who is that? I thought when princess Luna died,I was going to leave the rest of my life at ease. Didn’t know another enemy aro-se from somewhere else. The killing skills are very unique. Who could that be. I thought confused staring at everyone.
THREE MONTHS LATER
LILA’S POV
Luckily for the past three months,peace and harmony reigned in Polatan kingdom.
The fact that Melissa died and the one responsible for her death still haven’t been found. I knew Miles’s decision about finding the culprit wasn’t going to work out.
“Lila why haven’t you gotten married to the Alpha yet? You can’t tell me you have other issues to deal with than your ambition” My master yelled angrily.
“You don’t have any right to yell at me. I’m the only one who call the sh0t here so don’t ever yell at me” I warned seriously.
“It would have been perfect if you stood up for your words and get married to the Alpha like you’ve planned. You know very well that you’re running out of time” She added with a mean look.
“What do you mean am running out of time? You told me,I have till next year to make things happen” I reminded.
“Do you think you have that much time to wait till next year. Come on Lila stĀ©p fooling yourself” She scoffed.
“I’m trying to talk him into rushing the wedding arrangements but I can’t possibly f0rƧĀ£ him against his well. At least now there’s no she-wolf around to sĀ£dƻƧĀ£him” I said with a smile.
“Keep telling yourself that till you believe it. We nee-d the blood of the Alpha’s first heir. You either get pregnant or get someone else do that for you” She hinted and my eyes went wi-de open in shock.
“Why would I allow someone else get pregnant for Miles? That’s absolutely impossible, Miles is mine alone” I hissed.
“Can you bear killing your own child after you give birth to him”She asked and I glared at her.
“It doesn’t matter,as long as I get what I want” I said seriously.
“Lila you’re not the alpha’s mate,I’m not sure he will want to even tĀ©uƧh you if you manage to get married to you” She uttered.
You’re asking for death. You have no idea what I do to those who threaten me with words. I thought glaring at my master.
ZOE POV
“I’m finding it ha-rd to believe that we still have no clue on who the culprit is” I uttered frustratedly.
“We may have no clue but I know one thing for sure and that’s the culprit is in this castle” Eva blurted and I stared at her.
That makes alot of s-en-se. The culprit can either be the Alpha,Mason or Lila. They’re the only ones who have such dangerous skills. I thought and an idea c@mĀ£ to me.
“Talking about dangerous skills. Eva tell me more about Lila. I suddenly grow interest in her” I ch!pped in with a smile.
“You can’t possibly be suspecting the alpha’s fiancee” Eva uttered staring at me.
“Why would you think of such a thing. I’m only asking so I will learn to go along with her, it’s obvious she doesn’t like me” I hinted.
“Lila have always been a nerd since she was little. She even refused hanging out with some of us. She was only friends with the Alpha and she was able to do that because she was the alpha’s first love. Lila learned different kinds of fighting skills when she was little and suddenly her father announced she was dead maybe because of what she did to late Alpha” Eva chuckled.
“She did something to the late Alpha” I asked curiously.
“Everyone was told she made the late Alpha baldheaded but there’s something else involved that’s why her death was announced. Lila always got her ways because her father loves her so much. Suddenly she reappeared with powerful skills” Eva complimented.
“You sound impressed but she doesn’t seem to like you as well” I giggled.
“I don’t like her one bit. She’s so full of herself. I have no idea how she looks more beautiful than any she-wolf I’ve ever met my whole life” Eva confessed.
There’s so many question marks around Lila. So many puzzles about her,I can’t just put together. Why would anyone want to kill Aunt. Okay fine it’s un-derstandable that aunt may have enemies because she wasn’t good when she was alive. But Melissa doesn’t look like anyone who would have an enemy,why would one harm her, she was always protecting Miles that’s all. I thought processing everything.
“Exactly,she was only protecting Miles” I hinted with a smile thinking I’ve gotten a clue and my smile disappeared afterwards.
“Who was protecting who” Eva asked staring at me.
“No one,I thought I had a clue but unfortunately nothing” I chuckled.
What if her protec-tion towards Miles that’s why she was killed. I thought again and noticed a shadow by the window.
“Who’s there” I asked and swiftly checked the window but no one was there.
“I’m sure I saw someone at the window” I uttered almost in a whisper.
“You’re seeing things Selene. Now that you’re beginning to see things you nee-d to be careful ok. Maybe someone is trying to get something from us. I will head back home now” Eva yarned stretching her arms as she stood up.
“Alright..” I replied and suddenly I got the chills.
Maybe I’m the next person they’re coming after. I nee-d to be careful,I still haven’t made up with Miles yet. I thought with caution looking around.
MILES POV
Mason and I are Seated in my sitting room, putting heads together to find a solution on how to f0rƧĀ£ the culprit into l!Ƨk!ng himself out.
“Miles!” Lila called out angrily as she batched into the sitting room.
“Lila where’s your manners? The Alpha maybe your fiancee but you nee-d to learn to show some respect when calling out of him” Mason warned seriously.
“It’s okay Mason,I think she’s furious about something” I giggled.
“We nee-d to talk and alone” She uttered seriously and I laughed.
“Why are you laughing” She asked confused.
“The last time I heard that statement,I lost father. Do you plan on killing me if I don’t agree on what you say as well” I asked sarcastically.
“What are you saying? What’s that supposed to mean” She exclaimed with a frown.
“Mason will listen to our conversation and don’t even try to talk me out of it. If you don’t want him to interrupt,he will stay quiet but he’s staying and plea-se have a seat”I offered and she glared at Mason.
“It’s not like I can’t tell you what’s bothering me in his presĀ£nt” Lila scoffed.
“I’m listening”
“I’ve been your fiancee now for almost three months but why don’t you want to invite me over to spend a night or don’t you plan on ma-king an heir early” Lila said softly and Mason stared at her with grimace.
“Why are you in a hurry? We’re only twenty two years old,we have lots of time on our hands except one of us is planning on killing the other before he gets old” I said sarcastically.
“Don’t be ridiculous! You promised to make me your bride after the war with the vampires but what’s going on now” She asked miserably.
“Nothing’s going on,I just can’t put myself in a position to be stuck with just one she-wolf. I’m too pretty to be wasted” I giggled along with Mason.
