“I can’t tell either. Lately Miles has been trying to distance himself from everyone so I also have no idea what he’s thinking” Mason sighed.
The worst will be me killing Zoe. I promised to do that the next time I set my eyes on her. She dared to do this to Miles. I muttered in my mind furiously and sneaked out of where I was standing without notice into the crowd but Zoe was no longer there.
Run all you want… I will keep looking for you till the day you meet your end. You’re not allowed to die elsewhere but in my hands. I muttered in my mind angrily as I disappeared to the entrance of the castle.
MILES POV
Three days after the coronation I locked myself up in my chambers not letting anyone in.
“Supreme it’s me, Mason. plea-se let me in,I’m here alone” Mason said as he knocked on my door.
“Are you sure you’re alone” I asked curiously in a faint tone.
“Yes I’m sure” He replied honestly and I stood up slowly and got the door. He c@mĀ£ in and I locked the door back.
“What’s that smell? Miles what have you been doing inside here? It smells horrible inside here” Mason grimaced covering his nose. I walked closer to him and suddenly everything went blurry and I lost consciousness.
I slowly opened my eyes as the reflection of light from the window landed on my face. I turned to the other side and noticed I was on the be-d and everywhere have been wiped clean.
Mason c@mĀ£ out of the bathroom holding a towel and a bowl.
“Finally you’re up. You sle-pt for good three hours,I had to clean up everywhere alone. Haven’t you been slee-ping since you locked yourself up here” He tea-sed.
“Thank you for coming alone. I was really losing it” I said in a low tone.
“What do you plan on doing about the de-ep injuries on your back” He asked worriedly.
“You saw that..” I pursed with a smile.
“What the hell did you do to yourself before the coronation” He asked confused and sat on the be-d.
“You’re an Alpha,yet you took harsh syrup to hide your imperfections,was it really worth it. Why do you love so ha-rd ? You should know alre-ady that love is your greatest enemy” He protested.
“I can’t lie to myself Mason. I may lie to others but not to myself. Zoe betrayed me,yes I know that but she only carried out Luna’s orders. The hate I have for her still can’t overcome the love I had for her so I couldn’t mess things up at my coronation,I had to take the syrup and this injuries are the side effects” I explained.
“You’ve been bleeding for three days now. Do you think your injuries will heal” He asked worriedly.
“Today’s the last day of bleeding so the injuries will heal tonight”
“But where did you get the syrup? I’m sure I’ve never seen you with any before” He asked.
“I saw it in one of the secret books my father hide at the wall before he died. He couldn’t make the syrup right that’s why my mother was killed. Luckily I was able to make the syrup without missing any ingredients. This syrup also nee-ds endurance of pain,father couldn’t endure it” I narrated with a smile.
“You must have been very desperate, anyways thank goodness it worked out. This must be a very dangerous syrup because even your healing powers pursed. We’re good now right” He asked with a smile.
“Em.. how” I asked confused.
“You nee-d to leave this room. Everyone’s worried. Luna must be smiling right now thinking you’re dead. You have no idea how disgusting I felt when I wiped your whole bĀ©dy” Mason grimaced looking away.
“You did what..!” I yelled feeling embarras-sed.
“You un-derstand how I feel now right… I don’t know what you will do without me” He joked and went back to the bathroom.
Mason and I left my be-d chambers and I summoned the chiefs and warriors over.
“Greetings supreme” They all greeted as I sat on the throne and everyone took their seat.
“I summoned everyone here so we can discuss about the issue at hand. I’m having the feeling the vampires are planning something hvge” I pursed as Luna and her men into the palace and swiftly Mason slit the throat of Oliver.
“Oliver..” Luna screamed almost in tears.
“Princess…you can’t give up like this” He g@sped out breathlessly and gave up the ghost.
Mason is indeed my best buddy. He knows when to act and when not to. I thought with a smile.
“Miles why did you kill him? We only c@mĀ£ here for a talk. Was it really necessary for you to kill him just like that” Luna screamed as tears escaped her eyes and her eyes changed its color.
“You calling me by my name,I will take that with an excuse that you’re grieving but you nee-d to get it straight into your head that I’m now the Alpha. You must respect me,you don’t have any choice but to do so. And next time you badge into this place like it belongs to you, Kevin will be next and when there’s no one left,you will have to go” I yelled and tears roll down her cheeks.
“You will regret choosing this path” Luna cursed.
“There’s nothing to regret. Oh there is and that’s me being reluctant in killing you” I hissed glaring at her.
“If you go against my order next time,there won’t be a next time because you’re going to the dungeon. I hope you see many prey you can hunt on there” I laughed out loud.
“You bastard you’ve not seen nothing” She sm-irked as the guards dragged them both out of the palace.
“Supreme you don’t seize to amuse by your guts” Uncle Obet complimented with a smile.
“Supreme before we push forward with the vampire case we nee-d to talk about your wedding” Masho ch!pped in and everyone nodded in agreement.
What the heck are they talking about? I haven’t moved on from my past relationsh!pyet and they’re talking about marriage. I thought frustratedly.

“I don’t think my marriage is important at the moment. We should postpone the marriage discussion for our next meeting” I protested.
“It’s important we look for your mate. You just have to get engaged and you can fix a d@tĀ£ for your marriage whenever you want. It’s important that the Alpha has a she-wolf around him” Kelly added with a smile.
“How’s this any important? Our kingdom is about to get haunted by the vampires and you all think this is the appropriate time to talk about marriage. I’ve had enough of devious she-wolf,we shouldn’t invite one into the palace with our hands. I’m not in nee-d of one right now. Marriage can wait” I yelled seriously.
“Yes supreme” They concurred in fear.
“Now back to what we were saying about the vampires? The marriage discussion should be postponed to three months time” I added.
“Supreme I heard the vampires have a scientist who provide them with dangerous drugs which increases their speed because they know werewolves are super fast” Uncle Obet said.
“Scientist?” I uttered putting some thoughts into it.
“Do you have any idea what we can do to stĀ©p them” Mason whispered to me.
“I just realized that most of our pack lost their fighting skills. How are we supposed to protect ourselves if we don’t practice on our skills. Commander what has been happening here for the past twelve years I wasn’t here? The polatan pack used to be the strongest pack but now even the demon werewolves can defeat us” I yelled seriously.
“Princess Luna restricted everyone from fighting because she has a scientist who provides everyone with the invisible spell so everyone stĀ©pped practicing and that’s how we bec@mĀ£ the weakest pack” Uncle Obet explained.
“We can do stronger than any invisible spell. What’s the use of hiding, it only makes our enemy to keep coming back. Commander any werewolf from age 14 should begin training,no one is exceptional even my far cousins aren’t exceptional. We should begin with training everyone while I think of a way we can deal with the drugs the vampires take” I said lost in thought.
“Why does the supreme dislike the idea of marriage” A young lady walked into the palace looking all dolled up and clas-sy.
MASON POV
From the look of her charisma,she definitely is from a wealthy family but her aura feels familiar.
Miles and I looked at each other and our eyes went wi-de open.
“Lila!” The both of us called out in shock.
Lila the only child of general Kelly, she’s same age as Miles and I and she was Miles’s first love. She was the first girl that Miles ever liked. She was very mischievous when she was little,she did a hell lot of crazy things when she was little which made Miles and I got scared of her until we were told she got killed.
“Ha! Didn’t expect the both of you to remember me” She scoffed.
“Guards how did she get in here” Miles yelled.
“Do you actually think your guards can stĀ©p me from coming in. Come on, don’t be ridiculous” Lila laughed.
“Lila what are you doing here” Kelly asked curiously.
“We all thought she died fourteen years ago. How come she’s alive” I uttered confused.
“Kelly what’s going on here? You told my father, Lila was killed by some bunch of vampires. She looks very healthy than we all thought” Miles uttered.
“Can we leave that interrogation for later because I didn’t just come out of the blue for nothing” She sm-irked.
“What do you mean” Miles uttered confused.
“What if I tell you exactly how we can close the chapter of the vampires who are threatening our lives” She said.
“What’s she saying” Everyone murmured staring at her.
“So what are you trying to say” Miles asked calmly.
“I will only tell you how to do that only on one condition” She said smiling.
“I knew you not to be someone who does something and doesn’t ask for something else in return, that’s how you got father ba-reheaded” Miles scoffed.
“But how sure are we that you have a solution to this problem” I asked seriously.
“I’m sure because I was the scientist who worked for princess Luna” She announced.
“What” Everyone uttered in shock.
“More reasons why we can’t trust her” I whispered to Miles and he nodded.
“Your death was announced to the whole pack. I guess that’s how you work, going into hiding after causing a disaster” Miles laughed.
“Working for Luna is enough reason for me not to trust you. I don’t trust werewolves who work with my aunt” Miles added.
“I didn’t say you should trust me. I don’t even care. I’m pretty sure you’re dying to hear my solution but your pride won’t just let you” Lila scoffed.
These are one of the reasons why I also like Lila. A she-wolf who doesn’t give a damn. I thought with a smile.
“I only work for who I can benefit from” She confessed.
“So what do you want to benefit from me” Miles asked staring at her then she walked closer.
“If you don’t go ahead with my solution you gonna regret it. You have no idea when the vampires are planning on invading into our kingdom so what if you’re train everyone,you don’t even know if the vampires are heading to Polatan tomorrow” She hinted.
“You think hiding is the best solution you can offer. Thanks but no thanks,I’m done hiding from things I should face head front” Miles protested seriously.
“Who said I will be offering the invisible spell. Ha! Do you think the vampires are dumb” She chuckled.
“What are you implying” Miles asked.
“They alre-ady know we’ve been ma-king use of the invisible spell so they got a solution to that and that’s why I disappeared to go upgrade my skills” Lila br@gged as she ca-ressed her hair to the back.
“Do you now wish to listen to my condition” She added with a smile and Miles stared at me.
“Lila is very smart,she sure won’t ask you to fulfill her condition if it was that simple so whatever she says,you tell her you will think about it” I whispered to Miles and he nodded.
“Let’s hear it” Miles said.
“And again you’re not going to tell me, you will put some thoughts into it. You will give me an answer right here and now. Deal?” She requested.
She’s so smart,she knows us so we’ll. I thought tiredly.
“Lila what’s wrong with you? Mind the way you speak infront of the Alpha” Kelly scolded.
“StĀ©p it father,our Alpha desperately nee-ds my help so of course I will ask for something in return. You have no idea you gave birth to a genius” Lila br@gged.
She’s so full of herself. Melissa is going to lose it if she was here. I thought with a smile.
“Lila tell me what your condition is” Miles uttered.
“Make me your bride if I solve this issue at hand” Lila said boldly and my jaw dropped.
