I was walking throu-gh the hallway when I began to hear voices in a p@rticular room. I went close to hear what they were saying.
I wasn’t trying to evesdrop, don’t get me wrong, I was only trying to get a hint of what it is that they were talking about.
I leaned my ear on the door and the first voice I heard clearly was Bella’s voice. I decided to knock on the door, ” come in. ” I heard Bella say.
I pressed the doorknob, pushing it open. ” Hi, Diana. ” She greeted with a smile.
” Hi, Bella. ” I greeted, smiling back at her.
” Is there a problem? ” She asked.
Is there??
Nah, not at all…
” No, there isn’t. I … ” My gaze met with ‘ him ’ who I suppose has been staring at me since I c@m£. He was leaning against the window wall, with one of his hand hung on his che-st and the other rested un-der his jaw.
I frowned at him, returning my gaze to Bella. ” I was just pas-sing by when I heard your voice so I decided to say hi. Well, I can see you’re busy, I’ll just excuse myself then. ” I grinned at her, exiting the room.
I didn’t realize I have been holding my breath until I exhaled heavily.

” What do you say about our alliance with the White Wolf pack? ” I asked Derek who was leaning against the wall, his eyes staring out of the window.
” I can’t join alliance with them, Bella, they are the least pack we can ever trust. ” He said, his gaze still outside the window.
” Trust? ” I asked, ” If there is anyone we can trust it’s them. ”
” They are criminals, ” Micheal added which made me turn my gaze at him.
” Criminals? ” I can’t believe I was hearing this from them. ” You two aren’t being serious and you know that. The White Wolf are more sincere than any wolf pack, they’ve decided to join f0rç£s with us. Didn’t you re-ad their letters? ”
” Those are just make up words, Bella. ”
” How sure are you they are make up words? ” I snapped at him, ” Like they asked for your help on ma-king the letters? No, tell me, how sure are you? ”
” I’m very certain. ”
” How certain are you? ”
” Very. ” I hummed.
” Take for instance, we can come up with a write up and s£nd it to the White Wolf or to the Moon Walker packs or any other wolf pack requesting for their help which we’re certain we will get it. So, who knows if that’s what the White Wolf has done? ”
” So, what your saying? We should go packs after packs all because you think the letter was framed up? ”
” No, I suggest we keep the White Wolf aside for now. Or, we can rather s£nd some spies to their territory. With that we can get to know what they are up to. ”
” You want us to s£nd a… Michael, for goodness sake are you even listening to yourself? Don’t you know they are likely to find out? Okay, what if they do, what are you gonna say? You didn’t mean to and you were only trying to save your pack? ” I said, mimicking him.
I looked at Derek who has been quiet for the whole time, he wasn’t ma-king any effort about this and I hated the fact that I was the only one seeing reasons why we have to trust the White Wolf. ” What do you say about this Derek? ”
A knock c@m£ at the door, I rolled my eyes at him for not replying my question. ” Come in. ” I permitted who it was knocking.
It was Diana and I quic-kly hid the angry look on my face with a smile. ” Hi, Diana. ” I greeted.
” Hi, Bella. ” She returned the smile.
” Is there a problem? ” I asked.
” No, there isn’t. I … ” Her eyes move to Derek who was also staring at her. I noticed the frown on her face as she returned her gaze at me. ” I was just pas-sing by when I heard your voice so I decided to say hi. Well, I can see you’re busy, I’ll just excuse myself then. ” She grinned at me, exiting the room.
I slowly turned my head at Micheal who pretended not to have noticed anything. Then my gaze went to Derek who looked away almost immediately.
She still hates him, I’d say. And it was quiet obvious the moment she frowned at him.
I know after what he had done to her, it’s still something difficult for her to easily forget. Somehow, I just wish Derek can be a human for once.

Diana ✓
I never knew I would escape the terror of death until I shut the door behind me. It was almost like I was gonna die, so what, I’ll admit, I hate to look at that face.
I walked to nowhere then back to my room. After thirty minutes, I decided to go out for a walk again. Not outside, but within the castle. Those sick-headed guards won’t let me go out.
I must have forgotten, their only trying to save their n£¢k.
I was getting bored staying in the room all alone and I just nee-d someone to talk to. May was a lot busy with the other maids at the laundry room and getting her attention will be until night.
Bella on the other side wasn’t less busy so, I’m stucked to survey the castle all alone.
I went to one of the windows at the hallway, sitting on it as I stared down out of the castle. I saw a very big field, much like a football field.
There were group of people both young girls and boys training. They also seem to be having fun with it. Some were into the archery, some were with the sword and some were having a karate exercise.
Very impressive.
I was enjoying it, and sitting my as-s here wasn’t helping. But… those sick-headed guards down stairs, what am I gonna tell them?
« Okay, I’m a repented girl and you can keep an eye on me if you want. Or worst still have my head cut off if I try escaping. »
I t©uçhed my n£¢k, no, not my head.
I gr-unted. What now?!
Nevermind, I’ll make them believe me. I said to myself, picking the courage as I trailed down the stairs.
There he c@m£, approaching from the opposite side to my direction. My heart started beating, like it was gonna break free out of my che-st.
He wasn’t looking frightful, but damn, my legs were shivering that I almost sli-pped and fell but I held myself.
He st©pped at my front, his eyes leaving mine to my n£¢k. He furrowed his brows as he stared at the n£¢klace.
” How did you get this? ” He asked in a husky voice.
I was still shivering and even to say a ‘hi’ was like pushing a ten sto-rey building.
” I’m gonna ask again, how did you get this? ” He repeated, sounding more angry.
” I… I… B… ” I couldn’t find the words as they left myl-ips entirely. ” I… ”
He gr@bb£d my hand ti-ght, ” Do you know how much that n£¢klace means to me? ”
” I… I’m sorry, I don’t know. ” I stared at him with a pleading eyes that honestly, I never knew it had something to do with him.
He grip was getting ti-ghter, ” You shouldn’t have something that doesn’t belong to you. This is my home, you just don’t take whatever you see. ” He yelled.
Tears trailed down my cheeks as I tried taking my hands off his strong hand. I m0@n ed in pains, hoping that will be enough for him to notice how painful his grip was.
” Let me go. Let me go, you’re hurting me. ”
He dropped my hand down, ” I’m not gonna warn you again. ”
” You’re scaring me, ” I sniffed. ” I hate you! I hate you so much!! ” Holding my affected wrist, I ran back to my room.
Bella called me as I ran to my room but I didn’t st©p, I don’t wanna talk to anyone now. I just wanna be alone!!!

She dragged the n£¢klace f0rç£fully out of her n£¢k, tossing it to the floor.
She squee-zed her legs to her che-st, sobbing at the pains he had caused her. Bella c@m£ knocking on her door but she didn’t want to open it for her.
” Just go, okay. I wanna be left alone. ” She cried.
” Diana, plea-se just listen to me. ” She pleaded.
” I don’t wanna listen to anything. He hates me, Bella, he doesn’t want me around. I just feel unsafe here, I’m just scared of him, I’m scared to live un-der this roof with him. ”
” I know, and it’s all my fault he did this to you. ” She apologized, ” I never knew he still cherished the n£¢klace. It’s almost two years and he has never asked for it, so I thought he had forgotten about it. I’m sorry, Diana, just plea-se don’t take the n£¢klace off. ”
She looked at the n£¢klace, but hesitated to pick it up. Then she looked away, sobbing silently to herself.

Bella angrily left her room to Derek’s office. He was searching for a book in his shelf when Bella ban-ged the door open without knocking. He had thought it was someone else but when he saw her instead, he wore off the angry look.
” Bella? ” He called, surprised.
She walked closer to him, dashing him a h0t sl@p on his face. He held his affected cheek, throwing her a ha-rd gaze.
” What was that for? ” He angrily asked.
” That was for being so stupid, Derek. What the heck has gone over you this week? You’ve been acting strange and I keep wondering if you are really my brother. ”
He took off his hand from his cheek. ” I don’t un-derstand? ”
” You don’t have to, Derek, because it has gone over you. You ha-rd ly think before you take actions, innocent people end up bearing your wrath! ” She yanked.
” Is this because of the n£¢klace? ”
” What else? Tell me, what else could have made you gone mad this morning?! ” She yelled.
” Bella, you know how important that n£¢klace means to me. You know the pains that follows each time I look at it. ”
” Then why does she have to bear that pain? ”
” Because she doesn’t deserve to be with it! ” He yelled back.
” Yes, she does! ”
” No, she doesn’t. ” He said coldly. ” And I don’t want to see her with it anymore. ”
” Is this how your hatred towards humans is, that you have to l@yit all on her? She’s innocent, Derek, and for christ sake try to see that in her! The more she tries to get used to this place, the more she tries to un-derstand everything about us, you keep giving her reasons why she shouldn’t. If you so much hate her, why then did you bring her here at the first place! ”
” You… shut… ” He held himself from sl@pping her, turning his back at her. ” I don’t want to have this conversation with you again. ”
” And what if I insist we die this case here, what are you gonna do to me? You’re gonna slice my throat like you did to those humans? Or you’re gonna have me punished like you did to those guards? What, tell me? Are you gonna strangle me by the throat like you almost did to Diana? Or you’re gonna hurt my wrist like you did her few minutes ago? Tell me! What, you gonna do? ”
He turned to her, ” Bella… ” He held himself not to do anything stupid. ” That’s enough. ” He warned.
She walked more close to him, ” Allison is gone, in as much as I love her as a friend and a sister, I care for Diana too. If you really want this relationsh!pto work out for the both of you, if you want her to feel this bond and accept you as her mate, then you have to act like a human being for once. ”
She left him speechless, slamming the door ha-rd behind her.

Not for long, Micheal entered. His eyes studied the room, the desk was alre-ady turned upside down. Papers scattered around, and the chairs were broken in halves.
Then he looked at the angry Derek who was breathing heavily, he c@m£ forward to him. ” What happened here? ” He asked, still surprised at what he was seeing.
The whole place looked like there was a fight, and it was difficult to know where to begin with. ” What happened? ” He asked again.
” I’m a mess, Micheal, and Bella is right about everything. ” He said after a while.
” What are you talking about? ” Michael asked, not sure if he un-derstood a thing.
” I almost hurt her, I keep hurting her, now she sees me as a monster. Bella too, she’s scared of me now. What’s wrong with me? For twelve years I’ve waited for her, I’ve wished to have her and now I do, I keep hurting her the more. I’m supposed to love her, I’m supposed to be there for her but… ” He shooks his head, ” I’m not. ”
” It’s not your fault, Derek. ” Michael said, trying to calm him down.
” Then who’s fault is it? Who? ”
” Is it about the n£¢klace? ”
Derek nodded.
” Derek, ” he called calmly. ” I think it’s time you have to let go of Allison. It might be difficult, I know but you just have to. ”
” I’ve tried. I tried but I can’t. Even if I can, it’s just so difficult for me to. ”
” I know it’s difficult to get ride of your first love, but if you want Diana to accept you, then you nee-d to start accepting her too. Allison is gone, let Diana take over your heart. I’ll talk to her. ”
” It’s pointless, she alre-ady hates me. ”
” Let’s not conclude yet. While you stay here, I’ll go talk to her, okay? ” He tapped him by his shoulder.

I went to the lake site, May told me she was there. From a far distance, I saw her throw stones on the water. She seems to be happy doing that.
I stood behind her, I’m sure she had noticed me but, she kept doing what she was doing. I know she still hates me too. What do you expect, I kidnapped her.
” Hi, ” I said, but she didn’t st©p doing what she was doing.
” What do you want now, to kidnap me back to New York? Cos I’ll love it. ”
I chuckled. ” I’m not here to take you away. ”
” So, what are you for if I may ask? ” She st©pped throwing the stones, now she was looking at me.
” I just wanna talk. ” I simply told her.
” Oh plea-se, don’t tell me you’re here to apologise for doing what you did because I won’t forgive you. ”
I smiled, ” Honestly, that’s the first reason I’m here. ”
” So, what’s the second reason then? ”
I smiled again, turning my gaze at the lake. ” We ba-rely talked since I brou-ght you here, so I thought I should just have a little chat with you. ”
She scoffed.
” I know you hate me, and I’m totally fine with that. I’m not trying to talk to you for you to forgive me or.. whatever. I just wanna talk to you, that’s all. ”
” Okay.. I’m listening. ” She said reluctantly.
” Bella told me how you feel about everything around, she said you’re getting adapted to everyone. ”
” Not everyone. ”
” I know, and that’s including me, right?. ”
She looked at me, scoffing again. ” You know, if I really hate you, I wouldn’t be talking to you now. ”
” I’ll take that as no then. ”
” Hey, don’t have high hopes yet, I never said I’ve forgiven you. ” We smiled. ” Honestly, I was really angry at you for what you did, but I found out that doesn’t worth it. I get it, you were only following orders, and some fv¢king destiny, I totally get that too. Bella once told me, sometimes we find ourselves in circu-mtances we don’t want to, but we’re left with no choice but to accept it. Guess that’s what I’m about to do. ”
” It’s everywhere, I un-derstand how that feels to be taken from the people you love without a good-bye. Leaving your career and dreams behind without enjoying the fullest of it, and I’m sorry for that. ”
She re-moved her eyes, gently ru-bbing her eyes so I won’t notice. ” I’m here to be with him right? I’m here to be by his side, but he doesn’t love me. ”
