Zain sighs for the umpteenth times, when he didn’t see any sign of Narmada. He was waiting for her at the particular spot where he was once saved her from the running horse.
“Is she busy working for her master?” Zain muttered, stretching his neck to see if he could see her coming from afar, but the maiden approaching him wasn’t Narmada.
Someone tapped him from behind, and thinking it was Narmada, he smiled.
“I thought you won’t show up Narmada, I almost….” Zain stopped halfway, when he saw it was his sister Anisha.
Anisha is a ten years old girl, and the only family that Zain have, so he clearly don’t joke with her. Anisha might just be a ten year old girl, but she has the brain of a mature maiden, and often act like a grown up.
“Who is Narmada?” She asked.
“No one Anisha, is just someone I know. What about you Anisha, what are you doing here?” Zain asked
“I was just walking around Maelstrom, when I saw you stretching out your neck like you were looking for someone. Do you like her?”.
“Like who?” Zain asked.
“Narmada, that was the name who called me when you thought I was her” Anisha said.
“Of course not. I don’t like Narmada okay. She is just a friend, and nothing more than a friend” Zain said.
“That how it always starts. It is either from enemies to lovers, or from friends to lovers” Anisha said.
“Shut up” Zain said and Anisha giggles.
“Are you still going to wait for her, or are you going to go home?” Anisha asked when he notice Zain was still using his eyes to search of Narmada.
“Of course I am going home” Zain said.
“Go ahead then” Anisha said.
Zain sighs and turns to leave, but stopped halfway. “Since when did you start ordering me around?” He asked.
“I didn’t order you around, you chose to abide to my orders” Anisha said laughing.
Zain tries to smack her head, but Anisha took to her heels and stopped running when she was already far from where Zain was standing.
“I won’t be coming home today” She announced loudly.
“And where the hell will you be?” Zain asked.
“With my friend Kenji. His mother is preparing something so delicious, so I won’t be back for three days”.
“Three days? Are you planning on being a daughter-in-law to Kenji’s family?”.
“Is not a bad if I become their daughter-in-law” Anisha said.
“Come back here when I am still being nice” Zain said.
“I love you brother, don’t miss me too much” Anisha said and ran.
“Anisha!!!” Zain shouted out her name, but Anisha didn’t stopped running.
Zain sighs, li-cking in his lower li-p. “Why on earth was I given a headache as a sister, I can’t even control my ten years old sister” Zain said.
He looks around again for Narmada, and when he saw no sign of her, he heaves. “I wonder if she is okay” He muttered with a worried voice.

⟨ THE PALACE OF MAELSTROM ⟩
Narmada opens her eyes, and sits on the bed. She was still weak and her li-ps were dried as well.
Queen Vanya enters the room, and when she saw Narmada awake already, she quickly rushed to her.
“My princess, thank God you are finally awake, I was so worried about you” Queen Vanya said, hugging Narmada tightly.
“What happened to me mother?” Narmada asked, and Queen Vanya broke the hug, caressing her face.
“Harlow and Supriya had you poisoned Narmada” Queen Vanya said.
“Poisoned? Why will they poisoned me, I haven’t done anything to them?” Narmada asked.
“They did that to frame Tatiana. She was almost killed but Cheng was able to save her”.
“Cheng saved Tatiana, but how did that happen?”
“Well it turns out that Tatiana has been going to the cottage to see Cheng, and Cheng developed an affection for her. He was so furious about what we did to her”
“Where is she now?” Narmada asked with a worried face. She actually cares about Tatiana a lot.
“She is in the cottage with Cheng and hasn’t come back to the main palace” Queen Vanya gaved answers to Narmada’s question.
“And what about Harlow and Supriya? What did father do to them? Those two witches almost killed me” Narmada said.
“Your father is handling it Narmada, and they are also getting a taste of Cheng’s vergence”.
“What did Cheng do to them?” Narmada asked.
“He inflicted pains on them, and made Thiago paralyzed. It was throu-ghCheng that we got to know it was both Harlow and Supriya’s doings”.
“How did Cheng know that?” Narmada asked.
“He has unbelievable powers Narmada, and can turn the whole palace upside down if he wants to”.
“Even if he saved Tatiana, I still don’t like him”.
“Narmada”.
“Tatiana is lucky that his demon have not started acting rashly. If I were her, I’m going to forget about what we shared in our childhoods days, because he is nothing but a demon”.
Queen Vanya looks at Narmada and sighs.
Something hits Narmada’s head, and she gasps and looks at her mother.
“Did news about me getting poisoned spread around Maelstrom?” Narmada asked worriedly. Because if news about the only princess of Maelstrom being poisoned get to the hearings of the people of Maelstrom, Zain might find out that she lied to him about not being princess Narmada.
“Why are you so worried about that?” Queen Vanya asked.
“Just answer the question mother, news about me being poisoned didn’t get to the hearings of the people outside the palace, right?” Narmada asked.
“No it didn’t” Queen Vanya said.
“Really?” She asked.
“Yes Supriya, only the people who lives and works in the palace knows about it” Queen Vanya said, and Narmada sighs in relief.
“Thank goodness, it means he won’t find out” She said without realizing she said it out loudly.
“Find out about about what?” Queen Vanya asked.
“Huh?”
“Who is he, and what is he going to find out?”
“No one mother” Narmada said.
“But you just….”
“Can you please tell the maids to prepare my bath. I just came back to the land of the living and I need to have a thorou-ghcleaning” Narmada said.
“Fine, I will be right back. I will also get you something to eat” Queen Vanya said, and Narmada nods her head smiling, but the smile disappeared after Queen Vanya left the room, and she heaves falling back to the bed
“Zain would have been so mad at me if he had fine out I’m Princess Narmada. I don’t even know how to tell him the truth, I’m so scared he might hate me if he knows I’m Cheng’s sister” Narmada said.
“I miss him” She added pouting her li-ps.

“This is all your fault. Is all your fault why my son got a taste of Cheng’s wrath, why on earth did you try to frame Tatiana!!” Queen Vanya yells at Supriya.
Everyone in the palace got to know that it was Supriya and Harlow who tried to poison Narmada. Is being five days now, and Cheng hasn’t release them from the pains he inflicted on them.
Thiago was just laying on the bed unable to move. He can’t blink his eyes, neither was he able to raise his hands, he couldn’t talk because his tongue were seized.
As for both Harlow and Supriya, they were still feeling so much pains in their body systems. Harlow was banned from entering the palace, and has lost her right of being a part of the royal family.
Since Supriya was a princess from another kingdom, nothing much was done to her.
“If I had known Tatiana is Cheng’s bride, I won’t have involved myself in Harlow’s plan” Supriya said crying, her whole body system was on fire, and her body has not stopped swelling.
The king enters Thiago’s room and Queen Anjali looks at him.
“Won’t you talk to that demonic son of yours and tell him to release my son from this predicament” She said.
“If you want your son to be back to himself, go talk to Cheng yourself”.
“And why should I be the one talking to him, when he is your son?” Queen Anjali asked.
“You want your son back to his normal self, right? So go to his cottage and talked to him yourself” King Osvaldo said.
“I can’t do that. He is going to turn me into a rat or a parrot” She said with so much trepidation in her eyes.
“I can’t talk to Cheng either. He hates me for abandoning him to his fate ten years ago, so we will just have to wait for his anger to subside, and when he makes up his mind to release them from the pains he inflicted on them” King Osvaldo said.
“But I’m in pain, your majesty” Supriya said crying.
“Then you should have reconsider your actions before doing them. You should thank your stars that you’re a princess and also Thiago’s betrothed, if not, I would have exiled you from Maelstrom” The King said and leaves the room and he met Queen Vanya on his way back to his chamber.
“How is Thiago and Supriya doing?” She asked.
“Still the same. Where is Waylon? I haven’t seen him for some days now” King Osvaldo asked.
“I don’t know either” Queen Vanya said with a worried face.

⟨ NIGHT ≈ BROTHEL HOUSE ⟩
The brothel house were filled with so many drunk men, laughing and watching some courtesans dancing to the beating of the Banhu and Qin being played.
Waylon sits in a corner, pouring some liquor in his cup, and gulping it down to his throat, he has tears all over his eyes.
The scene about Cheng kis-sing Tatiana hasn’t stopped playing in his head. He was not the type to go to a brothel, but he just wants to forget his pains by drinking, since he can’t do that in the palace.
He was still drinking alone, when one of the courtesan working in the brothel house sits beside him, with her hand on his shoulder.
“Do you mind if I pour a drink for you?” She asked.
Waylon looks at her, and jerks her hand off.
“I can do it” He said.
“You have been here for five days now and you haven’t sent for a courtesan, don’t you want one?” She asked.
“I’m not here to get entertained, I’m here to clear my head off from something” Waylon said.
“Since you are not here for entertainment, then are you suffering from a heartbreak?” She asked.
Waylon only looks at her and continues drinking.
“Rather than sulking yourself in pains and tears, why don’t you fight for what you feel for her?”
“There is nothing to fight for, even if she doesn’t say it, I know she loves him so much. I regret forcing her to come with me” Waylon said and drank his cup of liquor.
“So what do you want to do now, give up on the woman you love?” She asked.
“That’s the right thing to do, I’m not a troublesome person” Waylon said, and she smiles
“It really showing in you that you are a nice man. I wish I can leave this brothel for good and find a gentleman like you”.
“What your name?” Waylon asked looking at her.
“Amica”

⟨ SAME NIGHT ≈ COTTAGE ⟩
Tatiana smiles as Cheng feeds her, she was sitting in his lap, as he feeds her some meat.
“Do you think Waylon will be all right?” She asked.
“I don’t know, I don’t care about him” Cheng said feeding her.
“Do you hate him?” Tatiana asked.
“I don’t Tiana. But I won’t hesitate to harm him if he tries to take you from me” Cheng said and Tatiana smiles.
“No one is taking me away from you, I’m all yours. I’m the demon’s bride remember” She said and Cheng smiles, and resumes feeding her.
“I think is high time you release them from the pains you cursed on them” Tatiana said.
“I’m not yet ready to forgive them for what they did to you” Cheng said.
“But I’m okay now”
“Let them suffer for extra two days”.
“Cheng… please for my sake, release them from the pains you inflicted on them”.
“And what will I get in a return?”
“A kis-s”
“Really?” He asked with a one side smile and Tatiana nodded her head.
Cheng closed his eyes and after some minutes, he opened it.
“All done. Can I have my kis-s?” He asked smiling.
Tatiana giggles and kis-s him. She broke the kis-s some minutes later, and stood up from Cheng’s lap.
“Where are you going?” He asked holding her hand.
“Getting some sleep” Tatiana said, and Cheng pulled her back and made her sit on his lap.
“One more” He said and interlock his li-ps on hers, with his hands pressing her b**bs.
“Ouch… Cheng” Tatiana mo-ans inside his mouth.
