Adelaide was shocked and at the same time confused,she swallowed while staring into the King’s eyes.
“What do you mean my king?” She got her voice back and asked
Lucian ki-ssed her neck and her eyes went shut immediately
“My…. king” She stuttered and King Lucian stopped
“I’m….sorry,I can’t” She said
“I’m just a maid,I don’t want to cause any trouble. I’m sorry” She added
Lucian chuckled and moved away from her
“The rain is no longer heavy,you can go and get changed” he said
“But,what about you?”
“Don’t worry about me,you can go” Lucian said
“Goodnight your majesty” Adelaide bowed and king Lucian nodded,watching her as she walked out.

MINISTER’S HOUSE**
“Please let me take my daughters with me,or you can just keep me here instead and let them go please” Zoey said in tears as she pleaded on her knees
“And why should I release them? They are not done with the punishments yet” Lucia said and roll her eyes
“Please my lady,I’m sure they’ve learnt their lessons please” She cried and touched Lucia’s legs
“Don’t touch me!” Lucia yelled and kicked her away
“I’m sorry my lady”
“What’s going on here?” Amara walked to the scene and Lucia rolled her eyes
“My lady,please help me” Zoey moved to Amara immediately
“Lucia,what have you done this time?” Amara asked looking angry
“Just teaching some commoners a lesson they will never forget” Lucia grinned
“What?!” Amara’s eyes wide-ned
“My daughters,please” Zoey cried
“Go bring her daughters right now!” Amara ordered the guards standing
“Yes my lady” They said at once and ran off
“Big sis,this is my business not yours….”
“Shut up!! Do you want to spoil father’s reputation? How dare you!” Amara yelled angrily
Lucia shot her a glare before walking away
Soon,Luna and Aria were brou-ght. They had bruises all over their bodies
“Mother!” Luna ran to Zoey in tears
Zoey immediately hug-ged them both
“Thank you my lady” Zoey said
“It’s okay” Amara smiled before walking away
Zoey and her daughters went home

In atypical house,one of the deities,the first deity was busy weaving some beautiful florets together.
She suddenly stood up as if she got a strange feeling,she walked to the window and opened it. The rain was still pouring so heavily and the wind was blowing in an unusual way…
All of a sudden,a dark smoke from nowhere came throu-ghthe window and stopped right in front of her.
The deity turned at once in a calm manner
“Who are you?” She asked and immediately the smoke turned into an evil witch. It has a body of a woman,her face was looking so hideous and scary while her skin was wrinkled beyond recognition and she had some facial hair which was as ha-rd as brooms,her eyes are made of bright green lights.
“Ubel” The deity called out and the witch laughed out loudly
“I’m sure you can feel it already” Ubel said and the deity kept quiet
“The mistress is going to conceive and birth the heir” She continued
“That should never happen,she’s not fated to birth the heir,the land will be cursed!” The deity shouted and Ubel laughed
“What do you think I love? Curses” she said and laughed again
“You should stop now before it gets too late Ubel,you won’t be able to save yourself when the time comes”
“I will make sure the mistress regret ever going against my word” The third deity appeared into the room and grabbed Ubel’s neck without any warning with her invisible power and Ubel hanged In the air
“Release it” The first deity said
“Why should I? This is an abomination,you know what will happen if the mistress birth the King’s child,it’s a curse” The third deity said
“It won’t work this way” The first deity said
Ubel turned into a smoke and started moving round the room
“I will protect the mistress from now on,,you made your choice by choosing the next empress. But I made mine and that’s the mistress,I will make sure her foetus is saved no matter what” Ubel said and laughed before going out throu-ghthe window again flying all the way throu-ghthe woods until it got to the palace.
The evil smoke found it’s way into the maids quarter and went into one of the rooms,three maids were fast asleep. The smoke rotated a bit before entering into one of them

A WEEK AFTER★NIGHT**
“My lady,what is wrong? Are you sick? You’ve refused to eat your meals since morning,,I’m so worried my lady” Esmeralda said with a sad look
“I have no appetite,I think I need a little rest” Matilda muttered
“You might need the royal healer my lady….”
“I’m fine Esmeralda” Matilda stood up
Almost immediately she felt a sudden urge and she ran off,Esmeralda followed her and found her throwing up.
Her eyes went wide immediately

NEXT MORNING**
As Adelaide watered the flowers in the palace,her mind was somewhere else. It’s been a week now after her last moment with the king,after that day,she hardly see him. He’s always busy with different thing or the other,she doesn’t get to dress him up in the morning and she wonder if another maid already represented her.
She was beginning to regret ever rejecting him that night,maybe it’s the reason for the sudden change
“Are you watering the ground or flowers?” Nadia and Melita appeared and that was when Adelaide came back to reality
“I guess she’s feeling bad because her presence is no longer needed by the king,oh poor soul” Nadia said in a mocking tone
Adelaide ignored them and continue working,they walked away
“Have you heard?”
“Heard some bodies were found in the woods again”
“Really? Some creepy things keep happening these past days,I’m scared”
Adelaide overheard some maids gossiping as they walked
The watering can dropped from her hand
“Really?” She muttered and immediately started running toward the King’s chamber
She stopped when she saw King Lucian and Carl together,they seems to be de-ep into their conversation,she stared at their backs as they walked away
‘I hope he’s okay’ Adelaide thought inwardly
She sighed and turned back,her eyes met with a strange maid who smiled at her before working away
“That’s strange” Adelaide muttered and let out a slow sigh

THRONE ROOM**
“Welcome,your majesty!” The council chorused with a bow as King Lucian entered with Carl
“Let’s start” King Lucian said at once as he sat down,Queen Sofia seated on a small seat beside him
“Your majesty,five bodies are found again in the woods this morning by some hunters”
“According to them,it looks like they were killed by some evil spirits”
“Evil spirit?” Lucian asked looking surprised
“Yes your majesty,they have some strange marks in their bodies just like the last time,what should we do?”
There was total silence as they all waited for the king to speak up.
“Where are the bodies?” King Lucian asked
“They were taken care of already your majesty….”
“Without my orders?” Lucian snapped
“We are sorry your majesty,the bodies were too disgusting to keep”
“I want to see the bodies,I didn’t get to do that the last time. I want to take a look by myself,what the h*ll is going on in the woods? Evil spirit?” King Lucian said looking confused
“Gideon” he finally called and one of the councils stood up at once
“Yes your majesty”
“Get some of the warriors and let them watch over the woods from now on,and place a warning across to warn everyone to stay away from the woods until we find out what exactly is the problem” King Lucian said
“Yes your majesty” Gideon bowed before sitting down.
“Anyway,before that. I’m going to the woods to check things out” King Lucian said and everyone gasped
“Your majesty,you can’t do that. It’s dangerous,I will check things out by myself” Carl immediately said
“If you can go then why can’t I? Do you think the evil spirit comes out during the day?” King Lucian asked
“They’ve been working in the night” Someone said
“Then some guards should go with you if you insist” Queen Sofia said and Lucian nodded before standing up
“Be safe your majesty” The councils bowed
Lucian walked out and Carl immediately followed him

IN THE WOODS**
“Why is it looking so usual and calm?” Liam asked beside Lucian,they are both on their horses
About five guards behind them while another five leading the way.
Jimmy and Carl are also walking by their sides
“That is because evil spirits doesn’t work during the day,right?” Jimmy said
Lucian jumped down from the horse and immediately Carl blocked him
“You can’t walk more dee-per your majesty,it’s dangerous” He said
“It’s kind of strange” Liam also got down
“How?” Lucian faced him
Liam looked around
“It’s strangely silent right? No sounds from birds,the trees are so stagnant. Do you think something is going to happen?” Liam asked
They started hearing some strange loud steps
The guards all brou-ght out their swords at once
Jimmy and Carl covered up Lucian and Liam
“I thought evil spirits fly in the air,why are we hearing steps?” Jimmy asked and Carl glared at him
They suddenly stopped when numbers of warriors showed up with different weapons
The guards brou-ght down their swords
“Your majesty!” The warriors all bowed
King Lucian replied with a simple nod
“You’re not supposed to be here your majesty,we will definitely take care of everything and give you the report tomorrow” one of the warriors said
“I will be expecting that” King Lucian said and they all bowed

The third deity watched from afar and her eyes fell on king Lucian first
“He’s wise but not wise enough to see who was chosen for him” she said,not taking her eyes from him
The second deity appeared beside her
“I guess it’s not his fate to find out so soon” She said
“Where is our sister?” The third deity asked
“She went to the palace” The second deity replied
“Why?”
“She’s going to tell the chosen,what her fate is” The second deity smiled
“It took her long enough” The third deity said

PALACE**
Adelaide sighed out for the umpteenth time as she walked throu-ghthe alley,she saw the king leaving the palace earlier and she grew worried when she learnt about him going into the woods.
She stopped when the deity appeared right in front of her
“Old deity!” Adelaide called and immediately moved closer to her
“I see you’re not looking good” The deity said
“I’m worried about the king,and scared of what is happening.” Adelaide said
“You can still stop it” The deity said
“Me? How?” Adelaide asked
“You once asked me what your fate is in the palace”
Adelaide listened quietly
“You’re fated to become the queen of Suidan,I Choose You Myself and it’s your fate”
Adelaide’s eyes went wide
“Me???? The…..queen?” She stammered unbelievably
“That was the reason why I told you to come to palace,and it’s time you start”
“Start what?” Adelaide asked
“Your bond might be destroyed if you two get separated for too long” The deity said
“We share a bond??” Adelaide asked
“We haven’t talked for a week,He’s busy I think” Adelaide muttered
“You should try to be int-imate to avoid that”
“Intimate?,like have s-ex?” Adelaide asked and the deity nodded
“You have to do this to protect what’s coming,you have no time left Adelaide” The deity said before she vanished

NIGHT★KING’S CHAMBER**
The guards blocked Adelaide as she tried to enter
“The king is not seeing anyone at the moment”
Adelaide stopped
“Can you tell him that it’s his maid?” She asked
“No,you can come back tomorrow” Another guard said
Adelaide sighed and immediately pointed to nothing in particular
“What’s that?” She asked
The guards all turned toward the direction and she rushed into the king’s chamber
“My king!” She called when she saw the guards coming after her
She ran to the lounge and met Lucian
“My king” She called and their eyes met
“We are sorry your majesty,we will take her out right away” One of the guards said and they tried to touch her
“Leave” King Lucian ordered
The guards walked out,leaving Adelaide.
She sighed and bowed
“Why are you here?” Lucian asked
‘How will I tell him to have s-ex with me? I rejected him the last time’ Adelaide said inwardly
“Adelaide” King Lucian called and she came back to reality
She was about talking when a guard suddenly rushed in
“Your Majesty,there’s a problem” He said
“What problem?” Lucian asked
“The Mistress lost her consciousness” The guard said and Adelaide looked at Lucian
“Where is she?” He asked
“She’s still in her suite,the royal healer is attending to her already” The guard said
King Lucian turned to Adelaide
“You can come back later” He said and Adelaide nodded slowly watching as Lucian went out with the guard
‘He really care about her’ she thought and sighed out

MATILDA’S SUITE**
“Is she okay?” Lucian asked as the healer took care of Matilda who was still unconscious
“Your Majesty” he called
Lucian faced him
“The mistress is Pregnant” He blurted out
