King Lucian stood still,he seems surprised about her sudden action but he didn’t say a word either.
Soon,there was silence,meaning that Matilda left since he didn’t give her any order to come in
Lucian take a look at Adelaide who was still embracing him and she quickly moved away
“Are you okay?” He asked her
Adelaide shook her head
“I don’t feel too well my king,but I will be fine” She muttered and swallowed hoping he wouldn’t bother to ask her why she did that because she doesn’t even understand herself either.
“Your majesty! It’s time to leave” They heard Carl’s voice and exchanged glances
“You can go,I’m done” Adelaide muttered and immediately went to open the door for him
“If you’re not feeling well,you should take a break. Don’t force yourself to work” King Lucian said and she smiled
“Thank you my king” She bowed as they walked out together
She watched as the king left with Carl before she turned and went her own way only to bump into Lisa.
“Adelaide!” Lisa smiled and pulled her into a hug
“Seeing you made me remember that I have a punishment waiting for me” Adelaide muttered and Lisa frowned
“Are you saying it would have been better if I didn’t show up?” She asked
“Of course not,I’m just saying” Adelaide said and Lisa scoffed
“Anyways guess what? I apologized on your behalf and trust me,Queen Mother isn’t going to punish you again” Lisa said and a wide smile escape Adelaide’s li-ps
“Really? I’m not going to be punished?” She asked and Lisa nodded quickly
“Thank you!!” Adelaide jumped on Lisa and hug-ged her tightly
“Now I can see the first hug wasn’t real” Lisa hoist her nose and released a scoff
“I’m sorry” Adelaide chuckled
They started walking
“So,where did you and my brother went to yesterday?” Lisa asked
“We just,scroll a little. It was quite fun” Adelaide smiled and Lisa nodded
“Mother was scared of my brother’s phobia,that was why she got angry yesterday.” Lisa said
“Phobia?” Adelaide faced her
“Of course,his fears for spiders are a result of a phobia called arachnophobia,an intense fear of spiders. When he was younger,he sometimes looses his consciousness just at the sight of them” Lisa said and Adelaide gasped
Does that mean she would have been in a bigger trouble??
“I can’t even count the number of time the palace have been fumigated” Lisa chuckled
“The phobia must be really bad” Adelaide muttered
“Really bad” Lisa nodded
They finally got to Lisa’s suite and Adelaide left while Lisa went in

GENERAL KITCHEN**
Adelaide entered to meet the court lady addressing the maids
“Everyone of you just be available this evening,we have to prepare the meal gracefully since there’s going to be a general dining tonight so you better behave if you don’t want problem. And about the ball,it’s really fast approaching,who are the ones in charge of getting the wines? Why am I not seeing anything yet?” Court Lady Maggie asked
“We planned to get them tomorrow court lady” One of the maids said
“It better be tomorrow” Court Lady snapped
“From today,we are really going to be really busy because we are expecting more guests in the palace,be in your best conducts” She added
“Is that clear?!”
“Yes court lady!” They all chorused before they all got busy
Adelaide looked around to see Eleanor but she wasn’t anywhere around the kitchen
‘I guess they left already’ Adelaide thought
Nadia and Melita walked past her and almost fall her down
“Oh sorry,didn’t see you there” Nadia smirked at her before walking away
Adelaide sighed

The people kept on saying among themselves as Matilda’s maids distribute the foods and other things to them,Matilda had a great time playing with the kids also,smiling non stop like an angel
“This is frustrating,why am I chosen to come to this place?” Kai scoffed as he stared at them
“You’re here as a guard,why are you complaining? Just go along with it” Colton muttered
“But do you really think the king’s mistress is as nice as everyone think she is?” Kai asked
“Why do you think so?” Colton asked
“Just because…..she look kind of two face to me. Forget I ever said this” Kai said and Colton chuckled
“I wonder how long we will keep going around just to give these people things” Kai scoffed again
Eleanor suddenly waved at him and he smiled before returning it
“Wow,did you just…..”
“What are you thinking? She’s my friend” Kai scoffed
“Friend? That’s cool” Colton chuckled and Kai roll his eyes

A CLOTHES Sto-re**
“Which one do you think is better? The first one or this?” Yasmin asked as she showed Lucia another pretty dress
“I already told you,you will always look good in everything” Lucia said and Yasmin smiled
“I know,but I want the king to notice me in another level during the ball” Yasmin said
“Will he ever? I don’t think the king is interested in you” Lucia said
“Are you trying to make me feel bad?” Yasmin frowned
“I’m just saying,a normal man wouldn’t think twice to have you but he’s different. There’s nothing wrong with you,you’re even prettier than his mistress” Lucia scoffed
“That’s why I will keep on trying okay?” Yasmin said
They both turned at a time bumping into Aria and Luna who also came to get some dresses?
“Are you blind?!” Aria yelled
“What? What did you just said?” Lucia asked
“I’m sure you are not deaf,dumb and blind at the same time coz that will be really bad” Aria said and immediately Lucia threw a heavy slap on her face
Luna gasped immediately
“How dare you talk to me like that!!! Guards!!!” Lucia called and immediately three guards came in
“What is this?” Luna muttered and looked at Aria in fear
“Take these two idiots away! They dare to insult me!!” Lucia shouted
“Please my lady I’m….”
“Shut up,,,take them away” Yasmin said and the guards dragged them out
“Do you know those paupers??” Lucia faced Yasmin
“Am I supposed to know them?” Yasmin scoffed
“I will make their poor mother kneel down before me and apologize,they will regret ever messing with me” Lucia said with a wicked smirk on her face
“Then you shouldn’t let big sis know about it” Yasmin chuckled
“Trust me” Lucia smiled and they continue checking out the dresses

EVENING★GENERAL DINING HALL**
“Why am I wishing that I’m one of them?” Eleanor whispers to Adelaide as they arranged the meals on the table
“Your wish” Adelaide muttered
“Is everything ready?” Court lady entered
“Yes court lady” The maids present chorused
“Good,Adelaide,Nadia,Esmeralda and Eleanor wait,others can go” The court lady said and the maids immediately went out
Queen Sofia and Lisa were the first to come in
“Good evening queen mother” the maids all bowed at once
“Good evening princess” They greeted again
Queen Sofia and Lisa sat down
“Have you called the king,Adelaide?” Queen Sofia asked
“Yes my queen,the king will be here soon” Adelaide replied and Lisa smiled at her
Matilda came in next
“Good evening mistress” The maids greeted as she settled beside the queen
“Good evening mother” She smiled and Queen Sofia smiled at her
“How are you Matilda”
“I’m fine mother”
Jimmy and Carl came in at the same time also,they sat down together after greeting Queen Sofia and then finally,King Lucian came in with Liam
“Good evening your majesty” The maids chorused at the same time.
King Lucian sat down and the court lady started dishing out the meals
Finally they started eating.
“I’m hungry” Eleanor whispers to Adelaide
“Come on” Adelaide chuckled
“My king,how was your meeting with the council?” Queen mother asked
“It went quite well” Lucian replied
“I didn’t know the prince is still in the palace,did you decide to stay away from me?” Queen Sofia faced Liam and he chuckled
“I’m sorry queen mother,I just don’t want to disturb you” Liam said
“Well I love it when you disturb,,don’t act like a grown up with me,I still remember you as a kid dear prince” Queen Sofia said and they all laughed
“I remember too….”
“Don’t even go there princess,I should be telling you how you were,not the other way round” Liam interrupted Lisa and she chuckled
“She’s still the same,full of dramas and trouble. I hope you really stopped sneaking out and not pretending” King Lucian said
“Hey,you shouldn’t blame her for sneaking. She took after you” Liam scoffed and Lisa laughed
“Finally someone supported me,I knew it. So brother used to sneak out of the palace?” Lisa asked the queen and she chuckled
“Liam was a bad influence” Lucian said
“You’re the bad influence not me” Liam scoffed
“So you mean my king always force you to sneak out?” Matilda asked
“Of course not,I’ve always been a good boy” Lucian said
“Of course I trust you my king” Matilda smiled
“Seriously?” Liam chuckled
“Aren’t they cute?” Eleanor grinned
Adelaide didn’t reply,her eyes are on king Lucian as he kept on smiling every second
After what seems like an hour,the dining was over and the maids were left to clean

MATILDA’S SUITE**
“You look extra happy today my lady” Esmeralda said
Matilda smiled and checked herself in the mirror
“That’s right,maybe because I can’t wait to have the King’s heir in here” she said and touched her tummy
Esmeralda gasped
“Did you use the drug already?” She asked
“Yes I did,and I was with the king last night,so what do you think?” She grinned
“I’m so happy for you my lady,I can’t wait for the result” Esmeralda said dreamily
If Matilda get pregnant for the king then her life will definitely change,
Matilda smiled again
“I need a thorou-ghlong wash tonight,don’t let any other maid in,just you alone” She said
“Yes my lady” Esmeralda bowed.
The rain suddenly started falling heavily
“I think the heavens are in support of it my lady” Esmeralda said and Matilda chuckled
“I guess so” She said and exhaled

KING’S CHAMBER**
“What type of rain is this?” King Lucian muttered and dropped the book in his hand
He’s been waiting for Adelaide to show up and now it’s raining
“Will she come here this night? Why is she taking so long? Should I send for her?” He sighed
Just then,the door opened and Adelaide ran in looking soaked from the rain
“I’m so sorry your majesty,I’m late” Adelaide bowed
“Were you working?” King Lucian asked
“Yes my king”
“I thought I told you to take a break,you don’t look too well,I was even worried you might not come here” Lucian said and Adelaide looked at him
“Thank you for worrying about me” She smiled
“You need to get changed your majesty,you were out all day so you must be tired” Adelaide said,shaking from the cold
King Lucian stood up
“Adelaide,you’re shivering” He said
“You don’t have to worry about me my king,I’m fine” Adelaide muttered
“Come with me” Lucian said and left the lounge
They entered the king’s bedroom,,a loud thunder suddenly striked and Adelaide held the tip of Lucian’s robe,he turned to her and she immediately let go of him before wrapping her arms around herself while shivering
“You should have just stayed back If you are not resistant to cold Adelaide” Lucian said
Adelaide took her bottom li-p in and looked at him
Lucian walked to her and grabbed her waist,pulling her closer. Her hair loose in the process and the long hair fell backward
Their faces just an inch from each other,while their eyes pierces into each other’s own
“Should I make you warm?” King Lucian asked and Adelaide’s eyes wide-ned
