Cas-sandra’s Pov:
I stared at her with so much disdain.
She looked at me puzzled.
I quic-kly dragged the other girl Mona back and landed a dirty sl@p on her face.
Gracie g@sped in shock as tears flooded down Mona’s face.
“Why did you do that?” Gracie yelled at me and I bec@m£ gobsma-cked.
No-one dares question Cas-sandra Salvador.
My friends turned to her giving her a dangerous glare but she didn’t care.
She pushed my hands off and held Mona who hvgged her ti-ghtly.
I sm-irked devilishly as I quic-kly gr@bb£d her hair and she skrie-ked in pains.
“You dare not talk when am talking” I said as she took hands off.
“Who the heck do you think you are Cas-sandra? Why are you hurting her? What has Mona done to you?” She shouted at me.
I glared at my friends and we shrugged.
“You know Gracie! You can try to be smart and clever but I bet you wouldn’t want to be caught in my web” I sneered
“I am not afraid of you Cas-sandra…. I can’t let you hurt people who did absolutely nothing to you” She said as I fumed in anger.
I raised my hand to sl@p her but she held my hand.
My eyes wi-de-ned in shock.
“Gracie or whatever you call yourself… I advise you to stay the fu-ck away from our affairs” Kiara yelled at her.
“Of course I will as far as you guys st©p bullying others” Gracie defended herself.
We were all stunned.
In the whole of St Peter’s high school, no-one has ever talked back at me.
She even t©uçhed my hands with her filthy f!ngers.
Mona hid behind Gracie while I fumed.
“Now get out of this place now” Lucy ordered but Gracie scoffed.
We exchange glances at each other.
“Didn’t you hear her? Get lost right now” Joann added
“What for?” Gracie asked anxiously
“Because we want to eat!” Kiara said
“You can still eat with the other students at the cafeteria right?” She said as I gro-an ed in anger.
I quic-kly picked up a cu-p of coffee and poured the h0t coffee all over her b©dy.
She jumped up in pain
I bet her face is almost peeling off due to the h0tness of the coffee.
For the first time, I felt so plea-sed.
She ran out of the cafeteria with her face on palms.
I sm-irked wickedly as I stared at my girls.
“Good job girl” They chorused as we high five.
This is just the beginning of what am going to do to that slum girl.
We sat on the chairs round the table.
And the cafeteria was very empty.
Of course I don’t eat with losers around me.
Mona’s Pov:
I applied some oil on Gracie’s face as she cried in pain.
“You shouldn’t have confronted her Gracie! I told you how wicked Cas-sandra can be” I said
“But it shouldn’t be so…” Gracie said
“Gracie I too come from a rich family but it happens that Cas-sandra’s parents are richer! Cas-sandra is a very dangerous person to toy with” I said
Her face was swollen and so-re.
It was reddened due to the h0tness of the coffee.
Cas-sandra can be a devil in human clothing.
“What should I do now Mona?” Gracie asked in tears.
“Just stay clear from Cas-sandra and also stay away from Jake for peace to reign” I said as she shook her head in agreement.
I hvgged Gracie ti-ghtly.
Cas-sandra is the school’s celebrity.
And a proud peac0ck.
She has the most expensive car in school.
She lives a life of luxury and considers everyone a piece of trash.
I wonder why she hates Gracie so much.
Jake’s Pov:
I carried the football 🏈 on my left arm as I walked towards the guys.
“Gosh! Jake I heard what you did to Cas-sie this morning” Mico said
I only shook my head and inhaled de-eply.
“I can’t believe this Jake! You choose the new poor girl over Cas-sandra?” Dre said.
I only kept mute as I bounced the ball on the ground.
“You know how much Dre loves Cas-sandra right? But he left her for you because you likes her and she likes you too” Mico said
“plea-se guys can we st©p talking about Cas-sandra and continue with the practice” I said
“Don’t tell me you are alre-ady in love with that poor thing” Dre said as I raised my hand to sl@p him but I st©pped.
“Jake?” Mico called in shock
“Don’t you ever talk about Gracie that way again” I said
They looked at each other in astonishment.
I backed them with the ball still on my left arm.
Just then, I saw Gracie walk past with her new friend Mona.
“Gracie!” I waved at her smiling.
She only f0rç£d a smile at me.
My eyes wi-de-ned in shock as I saw her face
It was swollen and reddish.
She only waved at me sadly and walked away.
Is she avoiding me or something?
Before I could say another word, she alre-ady ran off with Mona.
“My goodness! Glenda did you see what Cas-sandra did to the girl from the slums?” Two girls gossiped
“No! I was at the libr@ry” The other said
“Hmm… You really missed ooh! Cas-sandra bathed her face with a cu-p of h0t coffee 🍵… Her face is swollen and so-re” The girl said as they kept on going.
What?
Cas-sandra poured a h0t cu-p of coffee on Gracie’s face?
I bec@m£ very furious.
“Oh my… I knew Cas-sandra won’t take things lightly with that peasant” Dre mocked
I gulped ha-rd .
“This is hilarious” Mico mocked
I quic-kly picked up my back pack and walked out.
Gracie’s Pov:
I walked out of the school premises with my bag hanged on my back.
My face was hurting badly.
A car zoomed off and almost knocked me down but I fell off the other side.
“Who the heck is this? What kind of a driver are you?” I yelled angrily
The car’s louvers was rolled down.
It was Cas-sandra and her good for nothing friends.
They laughed hysterically at me.
I only bowed my head.
“Scar face… Next time bridle your stupid ton-gue” Cas-sandra laughed
“Cos you might not be so lucky” Kiara said
“And your face might remain scarred for life” Lucy mocked
“Gross… You look pathetic” Joann said as we speeded off still laughing.
I quic-kly wiped off my tears as I flagged down a cab and hopped in.

I carried the basket of dried fish downstairs.
My face was still hurting badly.
Mother was at the kitchen.
“Mother! Am off” I said bowing my head
I don’t want mother to see my face like this.
Actually I sell dried fish every evening when I come back from school.
I hawk dried fish rather.
“Whatever! Make sure you sell all else there will be no food for you tonight” Mother said sternly.
My other siblings were all out clubbing.
I nodded my head as I headed out.
“Hey! What happened to your ugly face Gracie?” Mother asked
“It’s a burn mother” I said
“Burn? You are so useless… Getting burns even in school” She sighed
“Actually a rich mean kid poured a h0t cu-p of coffee on me….” I said
“Silly…” Mother scoffed without remorse.
“She’s actually the school’s celebrity.. Cas-sandra Salvador” I said as the spoon fell from mother’s hand.
“SALVADOR??” Mother asked in shock….

Mrs Martha Monte’s Pov:
“SALVADOR?” I asked as I inhaled sharply.
Gracie looked at me puzzled as she nodded her head.
“Does she have another sibling?” I asked anxiously
“I don’t think Cas-sandra does… But mother do you know her” Gracie asked
“Uhmm… Yes… I mean no” I stammered
“Mother you look uneasy is it because of Cas-sandra?” She asked again
“Just get the fu-ck outta here! Who doesn’t know the Salvador’s? You had better stay away from them because they are filthy rich” I said changing the t©pic.
“Yes mother!” She said
“Now get lost… You must sell all the dry fishes else there won’t be food for you” I warned as she walked out of the room.
I scratched my head in confusion.
“So her name is Cas-sandra…” I shook my head.
I walked around restlessly up and down.
Gracie’s Pov:
I placed the basket on my head as I walked along the street.
“Dried fish! Buy your dried fish!!” I shouted aloud.
“Hey miss… How much for dried fish?” The lady asked
“Oh ma’am… Just 200 bucks” I said as I tied some for her and she gave me money.
I continued hawking.
You guys heard what my mother said right?
No food for me if I don’t finish selling all the dried fishes.
I wonder why they are being so unfair.
I was still lost in thought when I tried crossing the road.
A car was driving on high speed and almost knocked me down.
This is all my fault.
Am being so clumsy.
“Am sorry!” I waved at the driver but the car st©pped.
To my greatest surprise, it was Jake.
My goodness!
Why can’t this guy stay far away from me?
I don’t want to have anything to do with him and his girlfriend.
I quic-kly picked up my basket of fish and turned to leave.
“Gracie plea-se wait!” He said as I gulped ha-rd and backed him.
“Sir do you want some dried fish?” I asked being very formal.
“plea-se just cut it off Gracie!” He said
“plea-se Jake I don’t want any trouble! Just stay away from me” I said
“I just want to apologize for what Casandra did to your face” He said
“It’s OK! The deed has been done” I said coldly
“OK Gracie! How much for all the fishes?” He asked and I laughed.
“Why? Do you want buy them?” I joked
“You never can tell… So how much?” He asked again
“#7000 bucks!” I said as he brou-ght his wallet and handed the money to me.
My jaw dropped…
“For all of this??” I asked and he nodded.
Now my dinner is as-sured.
I smiled broadly.
Cas-sandra’s Pov:
I walked into the clas-sroom with my friends.
Lucy… Kiara and Joann.
Of course no-one walks in together with us.
And as for the slum girl…
Duh! She has finally learn her lesson not to cross my path.
I sat on my desk with my textbook.
Just then, I heard some laughter and turned around.
It was Jake and the poor girl.
I bec@m£ furious.
“You know to calculate the equation you have to use the formula” Gracie said
“Yeah right… Just so unfortunate that I don’t know the formula” Jake said and they shared a laugh.
“Girl.. Just look at them! They look like lovebirds” Kiara said
I gulped ha-rd .
“I think that girl is gradually stealing Jake from you” Lucy said
“Never!” I said as I sm-irked mischievously.
“Never say never Cas-sie! Because Jake is choosing her over you” Joann said
“I will not let that happen… That girl must be thrown out of this school” I said angrily.
I was about to approach them when the teacher walked in.
“Good day ma’am!” We greeted
“Good day students! Well I have come with the test results we took yesterday on physics” The teacher said.
She walked around mute before clearing her throat.
“It’s so appalling that most of the students here did very bad in the test but few made me proud” She said
I smiled at my friends.
“Of course I never lose” I muttered to them.
They eyed me.
“The best student…. The one with the highest grade is Miss Gracie Montes” The teacher said as they applauded the slum girl.
She stood up happily.
“WHAT? ” I screamed in annoyance….
