Kendrick’s POV
I was shocked to hear Nica say that, my world seems to be spinning around me, if she’s pregnant for me then what about Starr!
“how did you let that happen? i asked
“i don’t know!
“then you have to get rid of it.. am not ready for this and beside i love Starr, i don’t want to lose her,”
“what! i can’t believe this Ken, you don’t want to lose Star but you want to lose the innocent baby that knows nothing. Am not gonna take things lightly with you because if you try to mess up with me am gonna tell Starr about this,” she yelled.
“you can’t do that. She just lose her father. Nica just give me time to think about this,” i said then hurriedly left.
▪▪▪I arrived there and was shocked to see lots of people, i quickly search for Starr and i found her in tears.
“am sorry about this babe, my condolences,” i cooed then hug-ged her tightly.
“it gonna be okay,” i said while she cried on my shoulders.
“my dad have no enemies, now am beginning to wonder who might have do this to him, he was innocent,” she cried.
“everyone knows Mr. Arnold. And whoever that is responsible for this will pay,” i patted her back.
▪▪Starr’s POV▪▪
I was seated outside with lost of guest, i was in so much pain and all i kept thinking was Mr Arnold, he was a good father to me, he loved me so much and has made me who i am today.
“my condolence Starr, am de-eply sorry for what happen to you,” Nica said as she hug-ged me, i was glad she came.
“no one saw it coming? how did it even happen? she asked.
“i don’t know Nica, this something i can’t even explain i don’t know who could have do this to him,” i cried.
“it okay Starr, am always here for you,” she smiled while i nodded. I was surprise to see Tony and three other people with him.
“Starr,” Tony called then walked up to me.
“my condolences,” he said sadly while i nodded.
“thank you so much,” i said. I could recognize the woman with him, she was the one Tony introduce me too as his mother and the other man was the man who was looking for dad some few days back.
“my condolences Dear,” the woman said while i nodded.
“you were the one who was searching for my dad right? did you know anything about his death? i asked while he showed me his ID card.
“am a police officer who investigates crimes, we’ll get to the truth of this matter,” he said while i nodded.
“our de-epest condolence,” Tony’s dad said. Somehow i wanted to ask Tony if Dr. Greg knows about this and why hasn’t he come but i just stopped myself from asking that.
▪▪ Laura’s POV▪▪
It just two days now and i still find it ha-rd to believe dad’s gone. I sat down in the room with mom while Starr was with Kendrick and other guest outside.
“so what has the police said? mom asked i looked at her and wonder where she got that swell on her forehead and also a cut on her cheeks.
“mom what actually happen to you? i asked.
“i sli-pped and fall down in the bathroom, it was a pretty bad one thou!
“sorry about that mother, you’re the only one i have left now,” i said sadly.
“i know Laura and i never wished for Arnold to die because i still loved him, i still love your dad,” she cried while i hug-ged her.
“it okay mother,” i said, as we cried on each other arms.
“but Laura can you do me a favor, Please don’t tell anyone Starr is adopted,” she said while i disentangled from the hug and looked at her.
“but why mom?
“i will tell you that soon but please just obey me even if its for once,” she said while i nodded, wondering why she said so. I quickly stood up and went outside but was surprise to see Starr with Tony and his family, i quickly walked up to them.
“i guess you must be Starr’s sister,” the woman asked while i nodded.
“Starr you can just attend to some other people, i will talk to them myself,” i said to Starr while she nodded before leaving.
“we want to talk to you and your sister if you don’t mind,” one of the man said.
“you can talk to me about everything,” i said while the man nodded.
“i guess the sudden dead of your dad has to do with the case we are dealing with,” he said.
“am Robert Stennis,” he said then show me this id card.
“before your father died he told me something, he said adopted a girl,” he said while i was shocked to hear that.
“yes dear, please i know someone must have know this that’s why your dad was killed, too bad i wasn’t even given the chance to thank him for adopting Princess,” the woman said sadly.
“it better we ask the both of you, which among you is adopted? he asked while my heart skip a beat, i remembered what mom told me.
“i and Starr my sister are the real daughters of our father, non of us is adopted and yes my dad once helped a little girl when we were kids, he took her to the hospital and make sure she survived but then he left her there, he never went back for her! so whatever story he told you was all lies,” i said nervously.
“but why are you even asking?
“oh my God! it now a different story, how are we gonna find my daughter,” the woman said in tears while i stare at her in shocked- what did she even mean by
“we are her parents and this is her picture,”
one of the man showed me the picture and i was shocked. This really Starr! this are her parents? I can’t believe am standing in front of her parents and am doing nothing about it. Maybe i should tell them the truth.
“It’s been a while i don’t actually know if this the girl, please if you don’t mind i have to go,” i said then stared at Tony before leaving. I sat down beside Nica and Starr.
“what did you discuss about with those people? Starr asked.
“it about dad’s case, we need to find the heartless person who killed our father. Please Starr i will handle all these with the police and you don’t have to get worried or get involved in anything. Allow me to get justice for what happen to our father,” i said while she nodded.
“thank you Laura,” she said.
▪▪Mabel’s POV?
We returned back home and i felt so sad, so sad about everything. Now why is he’s daughter giving us another story.
“you don’t have to worry Ma’am, i won’t stop until i fully investigate about this. We’ll soon find your daughter,” Robert said while i nodded.
“thank you officer, please call me if you get any information,” Edward said while Robert nodded then left.
“you don’t have to worry mom, i don’t think what Laura said was the right thing, i will try to ask Starr myself and i know Princess is on the way, we’ll soon find her. At least their’s hope,” Tony said while i nodded.
“the officer said that Mr. Arnold called and told him he wanted to tell everything but then he couldn’t make it because he was killed, i guess things are just getting complicated now,” Edward sighed.
“whatever it is, i just hope my daughter is still alive!

?Starr’s POV?
Dad was finally laid to rest and it just the worse day of my life as i jot it down in my diary. Now i wonder how things will gonna be, how my life will turn out without dad in the picture. I stood up and went towards Laura who was standing by the window.
“Laura, we’ll get throu-ghthis! i know it not gonna be easy for us but we have to be strong for each other,” i said.
“i know Starr and i just think it not even safe for us to stay here, i mean dad was murdered! what if the same person come for us?
“i also feel unsafe too but their’s nothing we can do for now, we can’t possibly moved out of here so soon because we don’t even have the money,” i said while she sighed.
“but Starr, what if you’ve found your real parents, are you gonna leave me here? she asked, that was also the same thing dad once asked me.
“no Laura i can’t do that but at the same time i don’t think i will ever get to find my family- i sometimes think i don’t even have any family,’ i sniffed trying to hold back my tears.
“it okay Starr, thank you for staying back even when papa is no more, i sometimes think you’re only staying here because of him, because he was the one that took you in and raise you, something my mother couldn’t do,” she said.
“am staying here because i have no family elsewhere and because you’re the only family I’ve always know,”
“Starr! someone called and i was surprise to see Kate. Laura quickly went and hug-ged her.
“welcome mom,”
“Starr, am really sorry. Arnold was such a great loss to all of us because to me he’s still my husband,” she cried while i hug-ged her.
“he was a good man and whoever that did this to him will pay for that, we’ll get justice for dad because he don’t deserve to be killed that way,” i said wiping away my tears. I also notice a swell on her forehead and their was a small cut on her cheeks.
“what happen to you?
“haven’t Laura told you, i sli-pped and fall down in the bathroom,” she said while my mind flash back to what she always said when she was in prison. She always wanted to killed dad– she said he’ll pay for what he did to her,
i also remembered how the house was so messed up the same day when father was killed, the was a broken bottle and it really seems dad has fought the person who killed him. Am so confused now, i know no matter how evil Mrs. Kate can be, she can’t possibly kill Arnold! at least even for the sake of Laura who was innocent….!!!
▪▪▪Later in the evening, i was surprise to see Dr. Greg and at same time i was still glad he came.
He came down from the car then walked up to me. His driver was holding a bouquet of flowers as he gave it to me, i looked at Greg- surprised.
“it just a gift,” he said while then collect the flowers, they smell so nice and i like it already.
“thank you,” i said
“my condolences Starr, am sorry i couldn’t come on time i was so busy,” he said while i nodded then kept the bouquet of flowers beside me on a bench.
“if only i can take away the pain you feel, i sometimes wonder why bad thing happens to good people,”
“and you can take a day off until you fully recover from this and if you need anyone to talk to am always here. Remember you were the one that ease those pains in me when Natasha called off my wedding and when she also died, you were always there to make sure am okay,” he said while nodded trying to hold back my tears- his words are now getting me so emotional.
“thank you so much,” i sniffed then hug-ged him tight as i cried on his shoulder! Everything happen so fast as i felt a force pulled me away from the hug then someone punch Greg!
“oh my! Kendrick,” i asked very shocked by his outburst.
“why can’t you just stay away from my girlfriend, now i caught you,” Kendrick snarled.
“we weren’t doing anything wrong and why could you do that,” i yelled at Kendrick then looked at Greg who held an angry face.
“i guess he’s right, he’s your goddamn boyfriend and i shouldn’t be doing all this,” Greg half yelled and was about to leave but i held him back, holding his wrist.
“am sorry, i guess Kendrick is just in a bad mood,” i said.
“am not in a bad mood, this the right time to warn him to stay away from you and why will he have to hug you that way,” Kendrick yelled while i sighed as i watched Greg speedily drove off. I know he must be hurt by this.
“i don’t like what you did!, i said to Kendrick and i notice he’s eyes was fixed on the bouquet of flowers.
“did he also get you those flowers now? huh? has it gotten to that? he asked angrily.
“don’t take it the wrong way Ken!
“what did you expect me to do or say, i should just sit and watch him give flowers to you or i should just fold my arms and watch him hug you so tight like that! Ken yelled and walked out angrily.
Laura’s POV▪▪
I was at mom’s place and asked her why she told me never to tell anyone about Starr.
“i know her real parents now Laura and this the right time to get rich and live a better life,” she said while i looked at her so confused.
“yes Laura. I’ve think about this and i’ve planned it as well…
“mom i thought you’ve changed for the better. Starr is my sister i felt so terrible for lying to her parents, i should have tell them the whole truth. Starr deserves to know her real parents and also be with them,” i said angrily.
“i know that! but ma not saying we should hurt Starr, all am saying is that, i will introduce you to them as their Princess? she said while i shocked to hear that.
“yes and we have to do that fast before they get to know the whole truth,” she added.
“mom.. that’s not right!
“but this the only way to have a better life, it not gonna be for long. We just need money and once you come back as Princess you’ll have the money you want. Please Laura do this for me am not asking you to kill Starr,” she said while i scoffed.
“but she’ll get hurt if she knows about this!
“Laura can you just obey me for once in your life?
“i know mom! but how are we gonna do this? i mean what if the required for a DNA test? i don’t even know anything about Starr past before she was kidnapped?
“yes, she lose her memory remember and for the DNA test i will handle that,”
“mom this your idea is so lame! everyone know am your biological daughter even Starr will doubt us. This is pointless and i don’t want to get into trouble,” i stood up to leave. I can’t believe mother is asking me to do this.
“don’t be a fool Laura, remember Starr the cause of our misfortune. Your father died because he wanted to know the truth about her real family. He died because of Starr, because he want to reveal the truth about her and now this the right time for us to live a better life and you want to waste it?, she yelled. I was quiet not knowing what to say nor do…. this even pointless to me! it’s not a good idea…??
▪▪Starr’s POV▪▪
Kendrick hasn’t call not after what happen, i know he was so angry with me. I went to check up on him at the workshop. I stood outside as heard some voices, it more like a whisper.
“just keep your voice calm.. no one must know this! i heard Kendrick voice and i wonder who he’s talking to.
“then just tell me what to do… i need you to be responsible.. i and this baby need you,” the female voice was loud and i think it Nica.
“i can’t ab-ort this baby Ken, i can’t ab-ort our baby..
i will choose to leave you once you accept this baby,” her voice was high again and i felt my heart beating so fast. What did she mean by our baby. I slowly walked in and was surprise to see them. Kendrick was shocked to see me as well as Nica.
“Starr! you didn’t tell me you’re coming,” he said with a faux smiled.
“can you explain to me what’s happening here? i asked.
“i guess it high time to know this Starr, because we can’t hide this forever,” Nica said while Kendrick wanted to stopped her.
“no Ken, just tell me the truth. I’ve heard your conversation! just tell me what’s you’ve been hiding? i asked, my eyes were already filled with tears, i just hope it’s not what am thinking!
am pregnant for Kendrick,” Nica said without feeling any remorseful, i slapped so ha-rd after she was done saying that.
“aren’t you ashamed? i asked in tears.
“you should ask Kendrick that question and not me, am only trying to helped him, i only did what you couldn’t do for him Starr,” she said while i slapped her again and she raise her hand to slapped me but Kendrick stopped her.
“just get out of here Nica,” he yelled at her while she glare at him.
“am not done yet Ken.. because am not the only one who’ll suffer to carry this baby,” she smirked then left. I looked at Kendrick in tears as i turn to leave but he held me back.
“is that true? i asked, my voice was low and calm but inside of me my heart was boiling and i felt like stabbing Kendrick.
“am sorry Starr…
“just tell me the truth Ken, i only ask for the truth,” i said in tears.
“yes… she’s pregnant for ..m..e me,” he said while i slapped him.
“what did you mean by that? i yelled at him in tears.
“i still love you Starr, that was just a mistake and i regret what i did,” he said holding my hands.
“for how long have you been cheating on me with my best friend Nica? i asked.
“i need an answer Ken, just tell me!
“we are not having any affairs, it just a one night stand and it was a mistake, am sorry Starr, please forgive me,” he said while i hit him continuously on his ch-est.
“I’ve always loved you Ken, not once have i ever cheated on you.. I have keep my promise to you! so why will you do this to me. Just tell it to my face that you don’t love me again so we can end this now,” i yelled in tears.
“no Starr…i love you so much… please believe me.. i do love you and i never wish to hurt you this way… please…
“it okay Kendrick, i guess we both need some time away from each other. Don’t ever come back to me again,” i yelled then free myself from his grip and hurriedly went back home. It just last week i lost dad and now Kendrick! I loved Kendrick so much and i still do, i have always picture out our future together, i thought he was the perfect one for me. My phone rang and i notice it was him calling, i didn’t pick up any of his calls. I just want to be alone, to cried out my pains….
Awwwww.. Starr is going throu-gha lot.. who will mend her broken heart…?????
