▪▪Starr’s POV▪▪
I tried calling Dr. Greg but the same line wasn’t going throu-gh, i just want to tell him about changing my mind to accept his offer. I hailed a cab to the grocery sto-re to get some things but was surprise when i saw Tony. He’s car was parked outside and he was about leaving when i rushed out and called his name.
“Tony!
“Starr, glad to see you again,” he smiled cheerfully, why did i always see Kendrick’s smile in his..
“thank goodness you still know my name and even recognize me,” he said while i rolled my eyes.
“am not that dumb you know,” i said.
“so where are you going, maybe i can drop you off,” he said.
“that’s not necessary i will just take a cab,”
“huh! are you turning me down? it just so simple! i want to drive you home,” he said.
“you’ve done enough, please you don’t have to worry,” i smiled.
“and that’s reminds me, Greg told me your friend was discharged already,”
“sure, he’s doing so good now, all thanks to Greg but where’s he? i mean why isn’t he picking up my calls? i asked so worried.
“i guess he’s busy and he travel out too for some work reason,” Tony explained while Starr nodded disappointingly.
“but isn’t he coming back anytime soon?
“sure he’ll?
“he just want to help me out and decided to take me in as a nurse in his hospital, i feel so happy about that you know,”
“really! that’s a great news then,” Tony smiled.
“okay! nice meeting you again Tony, i have to go,” i said.
“maybe i can drop you off, i insist,” he said while i nodded. He open the car door for me and entered and sat down beside him.
“sorry to ask but are you that close to Dr. Greg? i asked curiously while he nodded.
“yea, Greg and i has been childhood friends together with Sarah am not too sure if you’ve seen her before,” he said.
“every disappointed is a blessing in disguise and i do believe that.” he said while i arched an eyebrows at him.
“what did you mean? i asked slowly.
“if Princess haven’t gone missing maybe i wouldn’t have been adopted by the Radisson’s family,” he said. Hold on is he adopted..?
“the Radisson’s family? i asked almost in a whisper.
“yes, Mr. Edward Raddison, he’s my dad. It was after the lost of their daughter they adopted me, that the best thing that ever happen to me because they loved me so much and treat me as their own, i got the good life I’ve always wanted but then i felt so sad whenever i see them because they still long to have their daughter back to them, i sometimes wonder if that will ever happen,” he said while i sighed. Maybe we are in the same shoes because am adopted too but i can’t tell him, i don’t just want to tell anyone am adopted.
“too see, this story seems familiar to me, it like Dr. Greg once told me that and i guess that girl Princess is so lucky,”
“and the worst part is that we don’t even know if she’s still alive or death,” he said sadly.
“of course she is, what really happen at her? i asked so curious, i tighten my seat belt and look throu-ghthe window.
“everything happen to fast, she was shoot and kidnapped on her birthday and ever since then no one saw her nor hear from her,” he said while their was awkward silence. I remembered when i was shoot too that’s what Mr. Arnold told me when i was found by in the river. A memory quickly flashed in my brain, it happen every fast and i couldn’t see nor understand anything. Suddenly my head was aching so badly and i felt so dizzy already.
“are you okay? Tony asked glancing at me.
“sure,” i replied dizzily.
“this story seems so familiar, i mean everything’s so familiar but i can’t just figure out something,” i said sadly.
“yes it has to be familiar because Greg told you that already,” he chuckle.
“but have you try looking for your real parents? i asked.
“what! where on heart will i see or know them, but my mom is still going on with the search! i told her not to because i don’t think i even have a family, i have always believe am an orphan,” he said. What! does that also mean am an orphan, i guess Tony is the lucky one here, he’s adopted by those wealthy couples and being take care of, he has a good life everyone will desire unlike me–but am still happy having a dad like Mr. Arnold he’s still the best just that i have never felt or experience that love of a mother, Mrs. Kate never like me and i wonder how life will be when she’s out of prison.
“you look so lost? he asked.
“me! i guess am just tired,” i replied.

▪▪▪It was a long drive and but i was glad we arrived home safe.
“thank you Tony,” i smiled.
“i should be the one thanking you,” he said.
“Oh! Starr, you’re back,” Nica called as she ran and hug me.
“Nica, what are you doing here? i mean you did not even call to know if am at home or not,” i said.
“i have been here for almost an hour now but am glad you’re here with this Mr. Handsome,” she said while i rolled my eyes.
“Tony, this my friend Nica and you Nica this Tony my friend,” i introduce while Nica smiled.
“okay then, i guess i have to go now,” he said.
“thanks again and drive safe,” i said while he smiled before getting back to the car and zoomed off.
“he’s so handsome and so rich,” Nica squeaked.
“hey don’t get it twisted, he’s just a friend, they one who first helped me from Elvis back then, am glad we meet again and guess what?
“what? he said he likes you,” Nica smiled while i pulled her nose.
“you always talk out of context, well he’s also a good friend to Dr. Greg,” i smiled.
“awwwww, they’re just too handsome,”
“yes they’re handsome but not as handsome as my Kendrick,” i smile while she rolled her eyes.
“i wish am in your shoes,”
“don’t wish to be in my shoes because they’re just good friends and nothing more to that.. okay!
A month Later…✨
▪▪Mabel’s POV▪▪
Edward sat down next to me as i showed him the papers i got from the orphanage.
“according to the record he was brou-ght to the orphanage at the age of five years by Maria Vogel,” i said sadly
“could she be my mother, a relative, sibling or someone who knows me,” Tony said.
“i know, only her might tell us your real identity but then she’s nowhere to be found,” i added.
“like seriously? Edward chipped in.
“the address i saw on the file was invalid, i mean no one lives there again, a lot of things must have changed,” I said.
“i told you this already, it just too late. We might never find them,”
“no Tony, i will just hire an investigator to help us look for her,” Edward said.
“and what if she’s death already? Tony asked.
“don’t think of that, let just hope for the best please,” i said while Tony sighed.
“am just curious, i wonder who my real families are but what if am an orphan and that’s the reason why the woman brou-ght me to the orphanage,”
“however it turns out to be i know Maria is the right person to answer all our questions,” I said.
“have you found any news about Princess? Mrs. Amelia walked in, then walked up to were we were sitting.
“welcome grandma,” Tony greeted.
“no mom, no information yet but i guess we are close in finding whose Tony’s real parents are,” Edward said.
“i still haven’t lose hope on Princess,” i said while Tony nodded.
“yes mom, i’ll always got your back, i suggest we concentrate more Princess instead of my family, that if i still have it.

Starr’s POV?
I kept smiling to myself, feeling so great. Greg has actually make my dream come true and am happy about that. Am glad he was able to pick up my calls and i explains things to him, immediately after he’s back, showed me around and introduce me to lots of people.
“so Starr, am sure you can handle this!
“sure Sir, am well trained for this! remember i graduated from a college of nursing and if not for Elvis i will still be working but i guess as i saying says- every disappointment is a blessing am glad to work here,” i said excitedly.
“okay then nice having you here,” he smile before walking away. He’s so generous.

▪▪▪I was having a night shift and decide to let Ken knows about that, thank goodness he’s fine now and could perfectly walk on his own.
“Hi Ken!
“was about calling you, am gonna come over to pick you later,” he said into the phone.
“it not necessary Ken, am on night shift,” i said.
“what! ever since you worked there we hardly find time for each other,’ he said.
“i know but he still love each other and that’s all that matters,” i said.
“not only that Starr i miss you so much and i hope Greg isn’t been so clingy around you there,”
“of course not, i hardly sees him atimes. Just relax okay,”
“okay Starr, please take care,” i he said while i smiled before hanging up.
“oh goodness i can’t imagine you now work here,” a voice yelled at me! i raise my head and was surprise to see the lady standing in front of me, she looks so familiar and i guess she’s Sarah, the one Greg told me about.
“i just want you to stay away from Greg, if i were you i would quit the goddamn job,” she said.
“and what makes you say that? i asked a little bit angry.
“because people like you don’t deserve to be here, you’re so desperate even after receiving a free treatment for that your stupid boyfriend you still run back here to work so you could be close to Greg,” she snarled while i sighed- now everyone’s attention was on us i kinda felt shy.
“there’s nothing going on between me and Dr. Greg and if you’re not comfortable with me being here i guess you should confront Dr. Greg and not me because from the look of things you look so desperate,” i said angrily while she slapped me, i felt a sudden anger boiling inside of me, i wanted to hit her back but i held myself from doing so, i don’t want to regret this later and i don’t want to lose my job neither.
“i don’t like being in a competition Starr, so stay away from Greg and if i were you i would quit this job immediately,” she yelled then pushed me before walking away….?

▪▪Kendrick’s POV▪▪
I smiled when i was done talking to Starr on phone, it getting late already and am still at the workshop with two of my friends.
“i can’t believe you and Starr are still together! i mean you guys have been together for a long time,” Sunny said while i nodded.
“yes we’ve gone too far for anyone to separate us now,” i said.
“that’s the point bro, you love Starr but now that you feel so scared of losing her why not get married to her,” Bryan chipped in.
“i know. Star deserves the best and i just want to settle for a good job before doing that. I don’t want her to suffer, all i want is a simple life for us but yet i want to give her the best because she deserves it,”
“so you mean you’re waiting for the right time to propose to her? Sunny asked while i nodded.
“wise up Dude, this the right time! if i were you i would have propose to her and get married and once you’ve done that, you know! no one will dare try to take her away from you and that’s when your mind will be fully at rest because she’s yours forever,” Bryan said while i was speechless, he might be making sense thou.
“but what if couldn’t take care of her?
“come on Kendrick, Starr is not too materialistic and what’s important is your love for each other. Kendrick i guess it time to get married to her and i know she won’t hesitate to accept that…
..hmmm. i guess this the best thing to do for now!!!?
