Later in the evening i went back home feeling so sad, Kendrick has his own ways of ruining my mood! why is he been so paranoid.
I sat down outside enjoying the cool breeze and lost in my thoughts.
“thinking about what? i heard a voice, and i quickly turn to see Laura.
“you scared me,” i rolled my eyes at her.
“you scared me too because i thought you were a ghost at first. You should be sleeping and not sitting here,” she said.
“am just thinking,” i replied sadly.
“thinking about what? she asked.
“about Kendrick, We’ve been having misunderstanding lately all because he can’t seems to understand my point of view,’ i sighed.
“what is it about?
“about Dr. Greg, he felt insecure whenever am with him, he don’t even want me close to him all in the name of he’s protecting me,”
“huh! is Dr. Greg making advances towards you, maybe he likes you,” Laura smiled.
“of course not, he’s just been so kind and remember he just lose his fiancee’ recently,”
“Kendrick is just jealous but i guess once he’s home tomorrow he’ll feel at ease knowing that you won’t be close to Greg,” she smiled.
“if i were you Starr i would do everything to have Greg at my finger tip, he’s so cute, intelligent and very wealthy, you’ll get to have a luxury life,” she laughed.
“you’re so unbelievable, Dr. Greg is just a friend and nothing attached to that, he’s such a busy man and am sure he has lots of girls who want to be with him,”
“yea, he’s so dreamy but how can i even get to be close him,” Laura said while i rolled my eyes.
“maybe in your dreams,” i said then stood up.
“am feeling so sleepy already,” i said while Laura stood up too.
“okay then, let go in,” she smiled.
▪Sarah’s POV▪▪
I walked up to Tony and Greg who were sitting by the pool side.
“Greg,” i said calmly then rushed and hu-gged him so tight.
“am sorry about what happen,” i said while he nodded.
“Sarah.. what are you doing here? Tony asked.
“is that even a question? well am here for Greg because he need me more than ever,” i said.
“how is your arm? does it still hurt? i asked Greg.
“not as painful as Natasha’s death,” he said then gulp down more wine.
“you’re getting drunk and you know how crazy you act when you are drunk,” Tony said then collect the bottle of wine from him.
“this the only thing that can ease my pain right now,” Greg said feeling so depressed, he looks so pale. I felt so bad for him but this the right time to get close to him or even sed-uce him.
✨The next day i and Mr. Sean Kendrick’s dad went to the hospital as usual, i was glad when i saw Dr. Greg already.
“hi Starr,” he called.
“good morning Sir,”
“looks like someone can’t stop calling make Sir,” he said.
“oh! am just use to it,”
“Kendrick will be discharged this morning and you have to go alone with all his drugs and make sure he don’t skip a day and as for his leg am sure by the end of this month he’ll be able to walk freely without the use of those crutches,” he said.
“thank you so much Doctor, you’ve been of so much help to us,” Kendrick’s dad said while Greg just smiled.
“it okay but Starr can i talk to you for a while if you don’t mind,”
“sure,” i said then look at Kendrick’s dad.
“okay i will just go and see Kendrick,” he said before leaving. I felt so nervous, now i wonder what he wants to tell me.
“i don’t know if you’ll like this but am giving you an opportunity to work here if you want to- as a nurse. I know you’ll do great and you’ll be of help to us and i also know you badly need this,” he said while i was stunned, so speechless. Is this happening for real, am gonna work here at the Bernardo’s hospital. This a great opportunity to stand back on my feet again instead of doing nothing.
“are you sure about this? i asked almost in a whisper.
“yes i just want to help,”
“but you’ve done enough already,” i said.
“i know Starr, please allow me help you, allow me make your dreams come true,” he said staring at me.
“but why are you doing all this Sir? i don’t understand,” i said while he smiled.
“am only helping you out because you also need it. Look Starr if you won’t be comfortable working here it okay with me but am just trying to help you maybe it for the best,” he said then removed out a small card and hand it over to me.
“you can contact me with this if you finally made up your mind,” he said while i smile then look at the card again.
“thank you so much Sir,” i said in a low voice.
“just take your time to think about this and don’t ever think am doing this to get anything in return,” he said then walked away. I stood in shocked as i watch him leave, i couldn’t believe all this is happening. I felt so happy, Maybe it for the best as he said!
▪▪I was glad when we finally arrived home, Kendrick walked step by step with his crutches then sat down on the bed.
“home sweet home,” i smiled.
“am glad i have finally made it here and i won’t see some ugly faces in the hospital again,”
“what important is that you’re now home and all thanks to Doctor Greg,” i said while he rolled his eyes.
“okay Kendrick, what will you like to eat? i asked trying to lighten his mood.
“anything good for me,” he said while i smile then turn to leave but i felt his hands on mine, as he held me back.
“do you need anything? i asked.
“no.. i just want to thank you Starr, thank you for been with me all this while, thank you for not giving up on me even thou i can be so annoying times,” he said while i smiled then sat down beside him.
“i love you Kendrick and we made a promise to each other,”
“i feel so useless now, i couldn’t do anything to help you Starr. You’ve treated me so special and it makes me feel so useless since i can’t even do anything for you at this point,” he said.
“shh.. don’t say that. It not your fault you got into an accident and please don’t ever think that way of yourself, because it my duty to take care of you just the way you always did to me back then when we were kids, you stood up for me, help me and defend me, you’re the reason am still alive and i think this the right time to help you too. Please allow me treat you like a baby and don’t feel bad about anything,” i said while he smiled.
Kendrick slowly ki-ssed me on the li-ps which i reciprocated. It felt so good and i miss this, the ecstasy i felt was like no other.

Greg’s POV
I smiled as Mrs. Helen stood beside me with dad and mom. We’ve won the case, although it not an easy one. We were able to point out our evidence and the most important of them is that we were able to get a witness from Derek’s men who was a victim too, he was able to testify against Derek.
“now Derek will finally pay for what he did to Natasha,” i said to the press who were asking lots of questions. I went closer to Derek who was handcuffed by the cops.
“the news is all over now, your reputation is ruined, i told you i will win this because the truth will always prevail,” i said.
“it not over Greg.. i will make you pay for this,” he yelled while i scoffed.
“maybe in your stupid dreams, because you ceases to be Damon’s father and you have no right over him. The day you sent your men to kill me and they ended up killing Natasha the mother of your son, is the same day you lose your right as a father to him,” i said.
“i will always have my ways Greg, don’t be too sure all because am found guilty, i will still come back for you and also for my son,” he said before taking way by the cops. I won’t let his threat disturb me because i will make sure he rot in jail and not to escape.
Two days Later…✨
Ever since Kendrick was discharged i haven’t heard from Starr and she didn’t call to at least tell me about what we talked about concerning her working in my hospital, if she likes. I wanted to stay a little bit to see if Starr will call but at the same time i and Hilary will have to travel out because i have an important meeting to attend to and also to strike a deal. I was still lost in my thought when my phone rang and it was a new number, i hesitate before picking up.
“hello Dr. Greg,” i recognize the voice and i smiled, i felt so relief now and kinda happy hearing her voice- i miss her.
“Hi Starr,”
“i just want you thank you again and also let you know i can’t work there,” she said while i felt so sad immediately.
“huh! but why? don’t you like it there, am sure you know the pay or did you find another job? i asked.
“not really, am sorry but am not interested,” she said cutting the call which scare me. Is she mad at me? and why is she refusing that- well i can only guess one person who might have stop her and that Kendrick, who knows if he’s the one who stopped her for accepting the offer.
I quickly send her a message which read;
*am okay with your decision but i hope you choose the right thing Starr*
i hope with this message she’ll re think about this again.
▪▪ “Hey,” Sarah smiled as she walked up to me then sat beside me.
“Sarah, you didn’t tell me you’re coming,” i said.
“sure, must i have to tell you that always, am here to keep you company.
“oh! thanks a lot Sarah, you don’t know how relief and good i feel whenever am with you,” i said while she smiled.
“and i hope you can clearly see things now,”
“what did you mean by that? i asked.
“i care about you Greg and can’t you see that destiny keep bringing us together. Am not happy with all that happen to you but at first it was Sonia who was gone now it Natasha. Greg why can’t you give me a chance yet,” she said then clasped our hands together.
“i know that Sarah and it because i don’t want to hurt your feelings. I just want to be alone for now ,” i said.
“that’s what you keep saying and that always hurt my feelings, why can’t you love Greg? she half yelled.
“love can’t be force and we have no control of our hearts. Please Sarah don’t get your hopes too high with me because i think people like me need to forget about love for now, i don’t even want to fall in love again, am out of this game called love,” i said soberly.
“don’t say that Greg, it just that you don’t want to open up your heart to love again,” she said while i shrugged.
“i and Hilary are leaving tomorrow morning,” i said trying to change the topic.
“what! are you guys going on vacation? she scoffed.
“of course not, this strictly work and beside she’s going back to her family so she’s not coming back with me again. Hilary is just a family friend and she’s so obsessed with me but i know once we are in Switzerland she’ll try to get rid of those stupid feelings she claimed to have for me,” i said while Sarah just nodded without saying anything, she looked so confused…

▪▪Starr’s POV▪▪
“this the only opportunity you’ll get to pull your life together, why would you waste it,” Laura yelled at me.
“Because Kendrick is mad at me already, i told him about that and he said i can’t be close with Dr. Greg, am just confused,”
“confused! it not only about Kendrick here it also about us your family. Starr we are all looking up to you and dad will be so sad to know you’ve reject this offer, don’t allow Kendrick jealously affect your dreams of getting to be a nurse again. Dr. Greg is willing to help you,” she said while i sighed and i guess she’s right.
“if Kendrick loves you as he said then he’ll let you do what makes you happy,” she said.
“okay then, i will just go and see how Ken is doing,” i said then walked out. I don’t always like it when we misunderstand each other with Kendrick that’s why i always let everything slide.
I took a cab to Kendrick place and i was glad when i saw him trying to walk on his own.
“looks like someone is getting better,” i said while he smiled.
“Ken.. i guess we still need to talk about this, i think i just have to accept the offer. This my dream,” i said.
“but..
“this final Kendrick, am sorry about this but its not only about you but also about my family. They need me more than ever and it also about myself too, i need to start doing something important with my life,” i said while he kept quiet without saying anything.
“i don’t always like it when we quarrel Ken, but just know that i will never leave you because i love you so much.. just trust me,” i said then hu-gged him tight…?
