“what did you mean by that, that Fredrick is adopted? Smith, Kendrick father’s asked.
“i don’t really think so! i guess only Maria can tell us the truth about this, but all i know is that Fredrick your son was brou-ght to me by Roger at the age of two years, he only stayed with me for three years and when i was tired of him i took him to the orphanage, leaving him in the care of Maria one of my friend who worked their,” Hanna explained.
“you were really part of this, am sure you saw how my wife was so devastated before she died, how could you? Smith yelled at her.
“i never knew he was your son. Roger plan this all alone with William before he died, but i will try to ask Maria, i know her address and we can go to her house right away,” Hanna suggested.
“okay then,” Smith said while Kendrick grumbled.
“dad we’ll never find Fredrick, this stress is just too much for me,” Kendrick said a little bit angry.
“never give up Ken. I promise your mom to find Fredrick and that’s what am doing,” Smith said.

They arrived at the residence and Hanna was glad to have seen Maria.
“Maria, how have you been? Hannah asked with a smile.
“am fine.. why are you guys here? Maria asked looking at Smith then to Kendrick.
“this are his family, the boy i once took to the orphanage ten years ago, is he still alive? Hanna asked while Maria stare at them.
“can you just hear yourself, you said ten years ago. It quiet a long time now, someone might have adopt him or he might be death,” Maria said perfunctorily.
“what.. what did you mean..? Smith asked.
“ten years is quiet a long time, i no longer work at the orphanage and mind you four years ago there was a fire outbreak at the orphanage and lots of people die especially the kids. A lot of kids lost their lives but after that, the government decide to help and build another orphanage, it wasn’t easy thou but they did it at last, they help out. Am sorry, who knows if your son might be among the kids that died,” Maria said while Smith scoffed.
“and what if he’s alive? Smith asked while Kendrick yawn and his stomach grumbled.
“am hungry dad, i just want to go home,” he said nonchalantly.
“no Ken, we gonna look for your brother so you’re going nowhere,” Smith scolded him.
“but Hanna you said it seems like he was adopted? Smith asked looking so worried.
“yes i once told her that, but am not sure, i no longer work their and am sorry i might not be of any help to you,” Maria said sadly.
“but what name does he use when he was at the orphanage?
“it Simon, that’s the name i knew him with and that’s the name Hanna once gave him, right Hanna?” Maria asking looking at her while she nodded.
“sure, it Simon and not Fredrick. Am sorry Smith but i guess we can’t be of any help,” Hanna said.

▪▪▪▪Arnold return back home very drunk, he was so angry with what his wife and Laura did to Starr, how they left her outside, und-er the heavy rain.
“Kate, the next time you try to hurt Starr again you will be the one to leave this house,” Arnold said angrily then broke a bottle of beer on the wall.
“i will kill you myself,” Arnold said coldly while Kate moved backward, seeing how dangerous Arnold can be atimes.
“she’s doesn’t belong here and i will keep treating her bad until she runs away with her two legs,” Kate yelled at him.
“that’s why i will kill you now,” Arnold said bitterly.
“you see, you’re the reason my papa and moma are quarreling, if anything bad should happen to them i will beat you mercilessly,” Laura warned Starr.
“but it not my fault, it and your mom who let me stay outside the heavy rain, you also took my ne-cklace,” Star said while Laura slapped her.
“it your fault, if only you haven’t come into our lives,” Laura yelled dragging her hair while Arnold quickly slapped Laura, pushing her away from Starr.
“the next time you touch her i will beat out the hell out of you,” Arnold yelled at her while Laura held her cheeks looking at Starr with an angry face.
“how dare you slap my daughter,” Kate yelled then hit Arnold with stick making him fall to the ground immediately.
“it all your fault and you’re leaving this minute,” Kate yelled at Starr, then pushed her outside.
Starr fall so had on the stone at the door hitting her head, she quickly stood up, wiping away her tears, wandering where she’ll go. She’s just a poor kid who have no family.
“Starr,” someone called her name, she was surprise to see the boy who saved her.
“Kendrick! she called, very surprise.
“what happen? he asked then quickly move closer to her.
“they hit Sir Arnold with a stick, i don’t know if he’s dead, they also took my ne-cklace,” Starr said in tears while Kendrick held her hand and they walked close to the door. He knock the door and Laura open it immediately.
“the police are here,” he said then walked in with Starr.
“what? Kate asked looking at Arnold body still lying on the floor.
“give me Starr ne-cklace, they police are outside,” Kendrick said while Kate quickly open the box she kept und-er the table, then threw the ne-cklace to Kendrick.
“Kendrick! Laura called.
“you’re both evil,” Kendrick said then dragged Starr with him.
“what! Laura yelled when she peeped outside and saw no one. Kendrick lied to them.
“he only fooled us mother, so what are going to do? Laura asked.
“is papa death? she asked.
“i don’t think so, just help me out, let carry him to the bed before anyone comes and suspect a thing,” Kate said trembling in fear. Laura helped her dragged Arnold to the bed.

▪ “let sit here for a while,” Kendrick said to Starr.
“i don’t think am going back their anymore, they still don’t like me,” Star said sadly.
“but i guess we are friends now,” Kendrick said with a smile.
“friends! i don’t even know you,” Starr said.
“it doesn’t matter, we are still friends and i just want to help. Arnold and his family has always been like that even before you came into their lives,” Kendrick said.
“please i have no where to go to, can you please take me to your house? Star pleaded.
“what!.. i don’t think that possible. My dad is only focus on finding my twin brother and nothing else,”
“twin brother? are you a twin? Starr asked slowly.
“yes but it a long story,”
“what really happen, how was he taken away from you? Starr asked looking so curious.
“he’s name is Fredrick, we were just two years when he was taken away from our mom by her enemy or should i say her ex boyfriend, that’s according to what my dad told me,” Kendrick said while Starr looked so interested to know more.
“he took Fredrick away and hand him over to Roger and Roger gave him out to Hanna, Hanna also dumped him at the orphanage and due to father’s investigation Fredrick might be death or adopted, we still have no clue of him,” Kendrick said cutting the long story short.
“huh! i just hope he’s still alive,” Starr said sadly.
“whatever! i already lost hope in all this. Fredrick is lost and for gone forever,” Kendrick said sadly.
“you can’t conclude things like that, but what about your mom?
“oh i forgot to tell you, she’s death. Williams kill her too. She was murdered by him but it a good thing he was caught,” Kendrick said in a shaky voice.
“oh! am sorry about that.. but what about Williams? where is he now? Starr asked sympathetically.
“he’s caught and imprison but he died two years ago, he’s death already. My dad promise my mom before she died to find Fredrick, but seems he might never fulfilled that promise,” Kendrick said as he batted his lashes, trying to hold back his tears.
“it gonna be fine, i hope you find him and i also hope my real family will come back for me someday, that’s if i even have any family,” Starr said sadly.
“it getting late and cold outside, i guess i just have to go back to Sir Arnold,” Starr said.
“what! those people might kill you, come with me,” Kendrick said, as he took her home and take her to his room.
“you can sleep here tonight my dad won’t notice anything,” Kendrick said.
“do you think he will like me here? Starr asked.
“i don’t know, have this,” He said as he gave her his blanket.
“good night, i will sleep in my dad’s room,” Kendrick said, then left. Star heaved a sighed of relief, she was happy she found a friend, who’s accept her and is willing to help her, maybe life with him will be much better,” she thought.
✨The next day early in the morning…
Arnold wake up with a slight headache, he suddenly remember what happen last night.
“Starr, where could she be,” he yelled then quickly wake Laura and his wife.
“if anything bad should happen to Starr i will kill the both of you,” Arnold yelled at them.
“it too early to start all this you stupid drunkard,” Kate yelled at him while Laura quickly left the house knowing the next thing that will come up is quarrel.
Starr woke up that morning feeling quite happy, she quickly look around the room and pick a pen and paper then wrote something for Kendrick.

“Sir Arnold,” Starr said in her tiny voice then hug-ged him.
“haven’t i told you to call me dad, am glad you came even after seeing how violence this family can be,” Arnold said.
“i only came back for you,” Starr said in tears.
“am glad you did,” he said happily.
“just know that i love you and i want you to stay here but my wife and daughter are the devil, please promise never to leave me again,” he said.
“i will always stay here dad, after all i have nowhere to go to,”
“but it seems you didn’t sleep here, where were you last night? he asked.
“am now back to you and am okay,” Starr said trying to change the topic.
“you’re such a loser and i would never allow you stay in this house,” Kate yelled angrily then glare at Starr.
Two days Later✨

Amelia’s POV
Ever since Patrick died, i came over here, to Edward mansion and i have been part of their lives. I know Mabel was surprise how we get along easily, i pleaded for her forgiveness and she forgave me, am now a changed person and i hope she and Edward will forgive me when they eventually find out that am involved in what happen to their Princess.
I felt so useless and stupid. I wish i never get myself involved with that devil Erica, i made a great mistake by letting her into our lives and now it too late because Princess is gone. Edward asked me what his dad meant by his last words, but i just have to cook up lies, which made him believe me. Erica is right i can’t split everything now because it useless, Princess is already death and Edward will forever hate me for doing this, i don’t want to go to jail too, am just too old for this. All i need to do is to make it up to Mabel and Edward by been good to them and by loving their adopted son, after all Tony is a nice kid. My gaze was fixed on the Princess picture that was hung on the wall, she really looks so pretty and i like her smile.
“i hope you can forgive me princess, i have been a bad grandmother,” i said sadly to myself.
“mom, you’re here,” Mabel said with a smile while i jolted out of my thoughts.
“are you thinking about Princess? she asked starring at the picture.
“yes,” i replied sadly.
“i have never been a good grandmother to her, i mean am not even close to her back then and no she’s no more,” i said trying to hold back my tears.
“i still hope my daughter is alive somewhere, i wish she’s here with me but i promise to make whosoever behind her disappearance to pay, i will never forgive them for taking Princess away from me,” Mabel said coldly while i felt so guilty, i knew it! Mabel and Edward will never forgive me, am doom!
“are you okay mom? she asked while i nodded.
“i guess am the most terrible mother in-law and a grand mother,” i said sadly while Mabel held my hands.
“you’re still the mother of my husband and also like a mom to me. That was all in the past,” Mabel smiled while i nodded. Guilty eating me up.
❤Starr return back home from Kendrick house late in the evening, she seems so happy having a good friend like him and he also decide to help her keep her ne-cklace save with him. She knew this how her life will be in this slum, no school! just wandering about like those street kids, but she’s glad to have Arnold and Kendrick who always gat her back.

“and where are you coming from? Kate asked her angrily.
“i was with Kendrick,” she replied.
“ever since she came into our lives, things hasn’t been normal,” Laura said sadly.
“and i guess it the right time to kill her and dump her in the river, where she was found,” Kate grin evilly while Starr was scared, she wanted to run but Kate quickly grabbed her and stabbed her with a knife in her stomach.
“mom! Laura said slowly, her heart was beating so fast-er as she looked at her mom and Starr who was in a pool of her pool.
“let get rid of her body,” Kate smiled.
“mom, you killed her? Laura asked.
“isn’t that what you wanted, now she’s out of our lives. You don’t know how much i so much hate this girl,” Kate said without any conscience. Suddenly the door went open and Arnold walked in, shocked with what he saw….

That same evening, Edward was having a good time with her family, they were having dinner. Mabel was suddenly choked by the food she was eating.
“you need some water,’ Edward said while Mabel nodded then sip it, but she kept coughing so hard.
“something is wrong definitely somewhere Edward,” she said as she quickly stood up and wipe the tears falling from her eyes.???
