“so doc, will she fine, will she regain her memories? Arnold asked as he sat down opposite to the doctor in his office.
“well, probably if only you have someone from her past who know a lot about her,” the doc said.
“but doc, i don’t even know her… i guess this the only ne-cklace from her past,” Arnold said starring at the ne-cklace in his hand.
“well, she might regain her memories with time but she still have to stay until she fully recovered because she weak,” the doc said while Arnold nodded.

▪▪It four months already and Starr was fast recuperating in the hospital, she could now walk on her own but she still couldn’t remember anything. Arnold took her to his house but Kate was so angry seeing her.
“what is she doing here? Kate asked angrily.
“she’s here to stay with us, the poor girl has been crying, she don’t know anyone, i doubt if she even have a family,” Arnold said.
“that’s because she’s from the river, she might not even be a human. Arnold you better take this thing out of my house,” Kate warned while Arnold scoffed.
“this my house, and she’s staying here,” Arnold said with sternly while Kate sighed.
“okay then, poor little thing,” Kate said giving Starr a scary smile.
“so what’s your name? Laura asked her.
“dad said my is Starr,”
“huh…. are you referring to my papa? Laura asked.
“i ask her to call me dad, i want her to feel like she’s part of the family,” Arnold said.
“aren’t you gonna look for her evil parents who threw their daughter into the river? Look Arnold she can’t stay here with us,” Kate said peskily
“i did, i asked everywhere i can but nothing positive came out from it. Kate please am not in for any of your troubles just let the little girl be whenever she remember anything from her past, then we can react to that,”
“then take her to the orphanage or throw her in the street. We can’t take such risk,” Kate yelled.
“please ma’am, i have nowhere to go, please allow me stay here, am sorry ma, please help me out,” Starr said in shaky voice as she sat knelt down before her.
“am so sorry please help me beg your mother to allow me stay here,” Starr pleaded with Laura.
“as you wish,” Kate hissed and walked out angrily.
“it okay Starr, you’re staying here and that final, i just want you to take care of your ne-cklace, this might be the only trace for you to get back to your family,” Arnold said while she nodded in tears.
“her ne-cklace? Laura asked starring at the ne-cklace on Starr ne-ck.
“it so beautiful, did you buy that for her papa? Laura asked.
“of course not, you know i don’t have any money to buy such thing, i found her with it,” Arnold said while Laura smirk.
“i guess am gonna steal it,” Laura said to herself with a smile.
“am going for fishing, stay with your sister here,” Arnold said to Starr before leaving.
“you look beautiful anyway, at first i thought you were mermaid because of your beauty,” Laura said while Starr smiled.
“thank you,”
“come let me introduce you to my friends,” Laura said while Starr followed her behind. Laura took her to large tree down the street where she meet most of her stubborn street kids like her.
“this the girl i told you about,” Laura said pointing at Starr.
“the girl from the river? Ivan asked
“she looks so beautiful, is now staying with you, don’t she have family like us,” Flora asked.
“i think so, she’s just a girl from the river,” Laura laughed.
“nice to meet you all, am Starr and am not the girl from the river, the only thing i know was that i use to live a life of a princess, i once live in a mansion,” Starr said while the other kid laughed at her.
“mansion! someone like you will never leave in a mansion. Well welcome to our group, i guess you belong to nowhere but here in the street,” Laura said while they laughed.
“and mind you, give me your ne-cklace,” Laura said with a smirk.
“wow.. look it so beautiful. Just snatch it from her, am gonna give my brother and he will sell it for us, it looks expensive,” Ivan said.
“this belong to me, i guess i have to leave,” Starr said but Laura dragged her back holding her hair so tight.
“you will give me this ne-cklace and don’t ever tell papa or else i and my mom will kill you,” Laura yelled at her while Ivan quickly removed the ne-cklace form her ne-ck.
“am gonna give my brother to sell it for us,” Ivan said.
“no, i will give my mom to do that,” Laura said then collect it from Ivan.
“we have to go,” Flora said while they all ran leaving Starr so stranded.
She sat down und-er the tree trying to hold back her tears, she wonder who truly she is and why she have to suffer this way. She sat there till the sunset, she don’t feel like going home, after all she wasn’t even welcome there.
“hey pretty girl,” a man who seems to be in his late twenties sat down next to Starr.
“i saw you sitting here since morning and even now, aren’t you going home? he asked lic-king his li-ps while starring at her.
“huh.. i don’t want to,” Starr said sadly.
“ok, am taking you to my house. Let get going,” he said while Starr stood up.
“i just want to be alone Sir,” Starr said as she turn to leave but he grabbed her.
“are you coming with me, you silly thing. You’re just to beautiful to ignore,” the man rashly, dragging her hair.
“please let me go,” Star cried but he didn’t listen to any of her pleas and cries.
“once am done with you, i promise to let you go,” he smirk.
“let her go or else i will kill you,” a boy stood in front of them pointing a gun at the man. Starr was shocked to see him with a gun, she suddenly have a flash back on how she was shoot, but she couldn’t remember how it all happen.
“you brat…am coming for you,” the man yelled at him then push Starr to the ground before running off.
“please don’t kill me,” Starr begged.
“am only here to save you, what are you even doing here? the boy asked.
“nothing..”
“nothing! then you must be the girl from the river. Laura told me about you,” he said while Starr was surprise to hear him say that.
“why are holding a gun? she asked.
“hey am fourteen years okay and this gun belong to my father i use it to scare people away. This street is so dangerous and filled with rascals. Laura is use to all this so you should be careful with her, don’t allow her to drag you to any place she feels like,’
“thank you.. thanks for saving me,’ She sadly.
“by the way am Kendrick and you,” he said with a smile.
“Starr,” she replied.
“am sure this belong to you,” he said stretching out his hand to show her, her ne-cklace.
“what? Laura took this from me, how did you get it? she asked.
“i saw what happen earlier, so i followed her and collect it back,” he said making Starr to smile a little bit.
“thank you,” she said then collected it back from him.
“keep it safe,”
“thank you, i have to go home it getting late,” Starr said then hurriedly left, she wonder what type of kids live around here, they all look like criminals.

?Kendrick smile as she left, she felt so happy saving her, perhaps they can be good friends next time they meet.
Kendrick return back home that evening and get scolded by his father for using his gun.
“the next time to do this again am gonna shoot you myself,” his dad threaten him.
“am sorry dad,” he said sadly
“be sorry for yourself, anyway i was able to find Roger , he might have a clue of where your twin brother is,” he’s dad said.
“it fourteen years now dad, fourteen good years, how can you even know him,” Kendrick said.
“i promise your mom before she died, i promise to make our family complete and am doing everything i can to find your twin brother Ken,”
“i don’t think you will ever find him, after all we are happy staying like this,” Ken said closing the windows because of the heavy wind, seems like it gonna rain.
“just be positive, am gonna talk to Roger as soon as possible, he might have some clue about it,” his father said while he just nodded. Kendrick has already lost hope in seeing his twin brother, not after all they went throu-gh
▪▪▪Starr keep knocking the door but no one open it for her.
“get lost you evil girl, i will only let you in once you give us the ne-cklace,” Kate yelled from inside.
“okay you can have the ne-cklace,” Star said in tears while Kate slowly open the door and for-cefully collect the ne-cklace from Starr.
“allow me go in, it raining so heavily outside,” Star said but Kate push her back and locked the door.
“just go back to where you came from because you’re not welcome here,” Laura said from inside while Starr sat down alone, shivering so bad, the heavy rain was pouring on her…
Mabel’s POV??
That’s how life is after all, i realize the world will not gonna stop spinning for me to get any better. I miss Princess and each pa-ssing day i always involved her in my prayers but i believe she is still alive somewhere. I have decided to adopt, to have someone around me since Erica left with Sarah. Edward supported and help me in all this, it was the toughest moment of our lives but i still believe there’s always a light at the end of every tunnel.
I and Edward were done signing the adoption papers. I decided to adopt a boy, i don’t want a girl because i might always remember Princess whenever i see her.
“are you now my new parents? Tony, the boy i adopted asked.
“sure, i said with a smile,”
“thank you so much Ma’am, am free from this place, i guess am the lucky child today,” he said.
“you’re just fourteen years from your record here and i like you like this, i just have this feeling to adopt you,” Mabel said while Edward nodded.
“we are in this together, i will always support you,” Edward said with a smile.
They arrived to there mansion and Tony couldn’t help but to smile all throu-gh, it was really a tough to him, staying at the orphanage without a family, this has always been his prayer for someone rich like them to adopt him so he could have a good life, it a dream come true for him.
.Mabel showed him his new room and lots of places around the mansion, she also took him to Princess room. It was so huge and beautiful.
“you have a daughter? Tony asked with a smile.
“sure,” Mabel replied sadly.
“then where is she? am gonna have a sibling,” e said.
“she’s gone. Princess is nowhere to be found again, “Mabel said sadly.
“is she dead? he asked.
“no.. i don’t think so. Princess was shoot and taken away by a man on her birthday and ever since then we never see or hear anything about her, it as if they man just disappeared with her,” Mabel said trying to hold her tears.
“don’t worry Tony, you’re now my son and am glad to have you here,” she said sadly.
“don’t worry ma, i hope you daughter comes back to you soon,” he said.
” i hope so,”
“am now your mother and Edward is your new dad, you can call us parents. It been a long time someone call us that. That’s why i decide to adopt to ease that pain in my heart and maybe right to move on even thou i can’t,” Mabel said.

?Sarah was glad when she came to visit her father and Mabel, especially when she heard they adopted another child.
“so dad, those that mean you replace the boy with my sister? Sarah asked.
“of course not. Princess is irreplaceable. Mabel just think adopting a son will help her get over those toughest time, at least she will have someone and i reason with her too. Since we can’t have a child now and our only daughter is gone i guess the best option is to adopt,” Edward said while Sarah nodded.
“Greg is also here with his dad,” Edward said while Sarah smiled when she saw Greg.
“what are you doing here? she asked.
“i decide to come with my dad to see aunt Mabel and also her adopted son, maybe we can be friends,” Greg said.
“so you’ve forgotten about my sister already? Sarah asked.
of course not, Princess will always be part of our lives,” Greg said sadly.
“here he comes,” Sarah said when she saw the boy, who seems to be same age and height with Greg.
“who are you? he asked.
“well, i should be the one asking you that, because this my father’s house and am here to see him,” Sarah said rudely.
“oh! Tony said with a shrugged.
“i guess you be happy now, enjoying what doesn’t belong to you. And mind you, you can’t replace Princess,”
“my sister? mom told me about her, i wish i meet her before,” Tony said sadly.
“ops! you’re even calling her your sister, well if Princess is still here i guess you will never be part of our lives, mom Mabel wouldn’t have adopt a poor thing like you,” Sarah said harshly.
“that was so harsh Sarah, what’s wrong with you? Greg asked so pissed with the way Sarah was speaking.
“it because i don’t like him Greg, i don’t need any replacement, i don’t want any adopted brother because i still believe Princess will come back to us. All i want is Princess,”
Sarah said in a shaky voice as she turn to the window side trying to hold back her tears.
“Sarah, you are here already,” Mabel said with a smile while Sarah quickly wipe her tears and turn to her.
“yes…,” she replied sadly.
“well meet Tony my son,” Mabel said with a smile.
“to honest with you, i don’t like him, why can’t we just try har-der to find Princess, have you finally lose hope on Princess? does that mean i will never get to see her? Sarah asked in tears.
” no Sarah i und-erstand you but adopting Tony doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about Princess. Each pa-ssing day my heart still bleeds, my heart always longs for her, i felt so empty but Sarah this is life and we have to move on, i have to be strong for her because i know she’s still alive somewhere and i will keep searching for you, i always include her in my prayers so she will back to her family and whoever that is behind what happen to her must pay for it,” Mabel said sadly while Sarah hug-ged her.
“it gonna be okay,” Mabel cooed, wiping her tears.
“well, Tony is a nice boy, am sure you’ll gonna enjoy his company,” Mabel said trying to sound so cheerful to lighten everyone’s mood.
“i hope so,” Sarah said while Greg nodded.
“am Greg and this is Sarah, Princess sister,” Greg said while Tony smiled.
“don’t worry i will help you look for Princess too, am now part of this family and i want to be of help,” he said making Mabel to smile.
“you’re now part of us Tony, feel free to mingle to everyone,” Mabel said while he nodded.
✨Kendrick and his father were at Roger’s residence and as he told them what happen to Kendrick’s twin brother, he directed them to go Mrs Hannah because she was the one who took him when he was taken away from them.
Luckily for them they found her at the same address Roger gave them.
“do you know my son, what happen to Fredrick? Kendrick father asked so bitterly.
“i have no idea he was your son, please forgive me and i hope your late wife will forgive me and Roger. Fredrick was five years old when he was taken to the orphanage, i couldn’t take care of him that’s why i took him their,” she cried.
“what! is he still their, what happen to him, what happen to my son,” Kendrick father yelled at her.
“just last week when Roger told me you were still searching for him, i asked Maria my friend who works at the orphanage and she told me it been ten years now and a lot of things has change ever since i took him their, but it seems like he’s already adopted by some rich couples, that what she told me…
