Dorris and Ashley rushed into the kitchen. They heard Douglas screaming.
“What happened?”, Ashley asked, concern written all over her face.
” You won’t believe what Ray__ Oops!__brother in law just said.”, Douglas said.
“Do you nee-d to cause panic in the house”, Louis scolded.
” I’m sorry Dad. I’m just over excited. You nee-d to thank my brother in law for me”, Douglas said.
“This one that you are calling him brother in law. It seems Ray has finally gained your favour”, Ashley joked
Ray who is drying the dishes silently smi-rked. He gained this brother in law favour too quickly than he expected.
” He has indeed won my favour. I got his back from now on. I mean he just offered me a job in the company. “, Douglas said happily. Then he asked, ” brother in law, what will I be doing?”, he asked.
“What do you want to do? A secretary, work in the HR or the marketing or sales department.”, Ray told him.
” Can I take a while to decide?”, Douglas asked.
“No problems”, Ray said.
Dorris did not forget to add.
” Don’t forget you nee-d to start from a lower position”, She told him.
“Of course”, Douglas replied.
” Thank you Ray”, Louis said.
“It’s nothing uncle”, Ray said.
” Thank you Ray”, Dorris said as they entered the pent hoise that evening.
“For?”, Ray asked removing his shoes.
” For everything”, Dorris replied smiling.
“Dorris, we are married and everything I own is yours so stop saying thank you to me. Thank you is meant to be used among people with a distant relationship”, he said.
Dorris laughed.
” Is that how you want to define thank you?”, she asked him.
“Seriously that how it is.”
They entered the room.
“Will you freshen up first?”, he asked.
” yes”, she replied.
She turned her back at him.
“My zi-pper pls?”, she told him.
“I am happy to meet your family today, Dorris.”, Ray said as he undo her zi-pper.
Dorris just gave a light smile.
Dorris drove out of the agency. Somebody waved her down.
She stopped and whine down the glas-ses.
” Miss Dorris?”, the stranger asked her.
“Yes. How can I help you?”, she asked again.
” I’m Mr Dalton as-sistant”, the man said.
“Ray?”, She asked.
” No. His father”, the man replied.
Dorris kept quiet for a while.
“How can I help you?”, She asked after a while.
” Mr Dalton will like to see you”, The man replied.
“Oh! Where is he?”, she asked.
” At the mansion”, the as-sistant replied.
“Go on. I will drive after you”, Dorris said. She wondered why Dorris father will want to see her but whatever the reason is, she have to head to his summon. After all, she is married to his son.
Dorris got to the Dalton’s mansion and she wowed at the structure before her. She loved the exterior design and when she entered the house she even liked the interior better. Dorris is dressed in a simple white dress and she is wearing simple accessories and she had no make up on.
The Butler welcomed them( Dorris and Mr Dalton as-sistant). He then led them to the living room.
Dorris saw a man in his fifties and a woman in her forties in the living room.
” Hello sir. Hello ma”, she said bowing slightly.
She met Mrs Dalton gaze and it was not friendly at all.
Dorris ignored it and kept her smile. Mr Dalton gave her a light smile.
“You can wait”, He told his as-sistant who stood in one corner with the butler.
” Hello, Miss Dorris”, Mr Dalton greeted.
Dorris smiled.
“Thanks for coming”, he added.
” It’s fine”, Dorris said.
“Are you not wondering why I invited you?”, He asked.
Dorris was expecting them to offer her a seat but they just left her standing there.
“The as-sistant mentioned that you’re Ray’s father so I have to come even though I have prior appointments”, Dorris replied smiling.
” Oh! Have your seat”, Mr Dalton said.
Dorris smiled and sat down.
“You must be wondering why we invited you here right?”, This time, it is Mrs Dalton who asked.
” It’s probably because you found out the relationship between Ray and I”, Dorris responded.
“Well, you’re right.”, Mr Dalton said.
” You should be aware that Ray had a fiancee right?”, Ray mum asked.
“Fiancee? Did he? He never mentioned his engagement to anybody to me”, Dorris responded.
” Well, he had a fiancee and your involvement with him is delaying things between his fiancee and him”, Mr Dalton said.
Dorris Raise her brow.
Why is all this scene familiar like this? She must have seen too much K- drama.
“You’re aware you are just a fling right? Your relationship with him is just for the spur if the moment”, Ray mum said.
” He is just fli-rting with you”, she added.
“Do you think so too?”, Dorris asked Then she sigh.
” Well, I think I’m so charming that a man will have his fiancee and still be fli-rting with me”, she said sarcastically.
“You must be thinking that is an achievement”, Ray mum said.
” Am I? Well, I really don’t mind it even If he is really using me.”, Dorris said, smiling sweetly.
Mr Dalton cleared his throat.
“Ray wants to get married”, he said.
” Really? He should go ahead. I am not stopping him”, Dorris said.
“I want you to stop seeing him”, The man said.
Dorris clenched her fist.
” That’s is up for both of us to decide. You can’t have a say in our relationship, Mr Dalton”, Dorris said grimly.
She nee-ds to show them she had watched several K-drama. All this stunt can not walk on her.
“What?”, Mr Dalton asked.
” I mean,to end or start a relationship is between the couples alone no third party could decide for us”, Dorris stated confidently and firmly.
“State your price”, Mrs Dalton suddenly put in.
” Pardon?”, Dorris asked.
“Tell me, How much do you want?”, Ray mum asked.
Dorris is almost losing her temper. Are rich people usually this awful?
” Are you sure you can afford what I want? I don’t think so.”,Dorris shook her head.
“No matter what angle I looked from Ray is still the best option. I’m sure he would be able to give me what I want not you. I am not going to stop seeing Ray”, Dorris said.
” You shameless woman”, Mrs Dalton said and slap her.
Dorris held her Cheeks.
“Are we done here? I want to leave”, she said holding back her tears. She did not remember the last time someone slapped her.
‘It’s fine. Endure it all for Ray’, she kept as-suring herself.
” Miss Dorris, I give you 48 hours to stop seeing Ray or I will for-ce you to”
Dorris did not say anything because if she tried to open her mouth, she will cry. She just rushed out of the house without looking back.

Chapter 42
(I think your mind is more perverted)
Dorris is so angry. She cried to her heart content before driving back home. She just hoped Ray will not be back from the office yet so she will just freshen up and go to bed but she met him in the living room working on his laptop.
“Babe”, he greeted.
“How’s work today?”, she asked him.
He stood up and hu-gged her.
” Fine. I missed you that’s why I came back home earlier even though I still….”, he paused when he saw her red side of the face.
“What happened? Who hit you on the face?” She asked.
“Forget it. It is nothing”, she told him.
” What do you mean? Your face…”
“Murray, I’m so stressed right now. Don’t stress me even more. All I want to do right now is to take a shower and go to bed. Please don’t ask me questions cause I’m not in the mood to answer”, Dorris said and walk past him to the room.
“What about dinner?”, he asked and he got no response.
” What’s wrong with her”, Ray asked no one in particular.
He decided to prepare dinner from her. He had not gone back home for a while so he is unable to continue his lessons with Miss Preya. So he decided to make what he felt he can make well.
Dorris could not sleep so she knew it when Ray entered the room. She could smell the aroma of noodles and her stomach grumbled.
“Come, let’s eat”, he told her.
” If you don’t want to talk to me, At least eat something.”, Ray added.
She wanted to play ha-rd to get so she kept on lying on the bed.
“Dorris!”, he called again and she sat up reluctantly.
” I’m only eating because I am very hungry”, she said.
“Okay”, he replied.
And they ate silently. The more Ray look at her swollen red cheeks, the angrier is blood boil. He wondered who hit his wife like this.
” Edmund you are not going to work today too?”, she asked him.
It’s a week after their wedding.
“Yes. I’m still in honey moon….”
Harriet didn’t want him to stay home. Throu-ghout the last week, she was not allowed to put on cloth. Just un-derwear and sometimes his shirt.
“No honeymoon, you know I’m pregnant too. I can’t cope with your beastly side anymore. And here I thought that you’re a gentleman. Gentle? Ha ha ha. I was very mistaken”, Harriet said.
Edmund smi-rked.
” Don’t you like it? I thought girls this days like proactive men especially men that are wild and rou-ghin bed”, Edmund said bluntly.
“Will you keep quiet, Ed? My son is listening!”, she said.
Edmund laughed.
He loved teasing her.
Edmund hope she will not leave him like they usually do. Edmund wants this relationship to last forever. He wants to be with Harriet till the end. He did not want this to end the way it usually did with his past girlfriends.
” Come here”, he told her.
She sat down on his lap-s pouting.
Edmund find all her behavior cute.
“I’ve not seen a woman as cute as you are. Harriet, I’m afraid that if we give birth to our baby, I will have to take care of two immature kids in the house_both you and the baby”, he said ru-b-bing her little baby bump
Harriet rolled her eyes.
“What are you implying?”, she asked him. ” Are you saying that I’m childish?”, she asked again.
“When did I say that?”, He asked.
” Since I’m childish, leave me alone and go look for a mature pretty woman. Hmph!”, Harriet said and stood up from his lap-s.
Edmund laughed. He just find her actions funny.
He stood up and hu-gged her.
“Don’t be annoyed. Think of our little princess”, he told her.
” He is a prince”, Harriet stated.
Edmund smiled. He did not want to argue with her anymore.
“Shall we go to the bedroom?”, he asked her.
She hit him.
” You pervert!”
“What do you think I’m talking about. I only want us to catch a nap”, he told her.
Harriet turned pink.
Edmund continue to tease her.
” Don’t tell me you’re thinking of something else. I think your mind is more perverted.”.
Harriet blus-hed ha-rder.
Harry and Harley relationship is getting better.
“Where are we going?”, she asked him, fitting her seat bet.
” A zoo?”, Harry asked her.
“What zoo?”, Harley asked.
” That’s childish. Let’s visit a museum.”
Harry doesn’t like museums. He found places like that boring.
“Then an amusement park?”, he asked.
” I’ve told you before amusement parks are ….”
Harry cut in.
“Childish?”
Harley sigh when he finished her statement.
“Ladies your age love going to the parks to have fun with their boy friend. I wonder why you’re so different. Can’t you try and do interesting things? You will indulge yourself in work from monday to friday and to have fun on weekends is another problem for you. Why are you like this? See the interesting part of this world together with me, Harley . please.”, Harry told her.
” Okay. Let’s go to the amusement parks then”, Harley said
Harry was excited like a child given candy.
“Let’s go”, he said and accelerated.
” You said what?”, Dorris asked again.
“I said we are Eating dinner at my parents tomorrow”, Ray replied.
Dorris thought she heard wrongly.
” But Why?”, she asked.
“I want you to meet them.”, Ray simply said.
” Do we nee-d to go?”, she asked.
“You have to meet your husband family Dorris”, Ray told her.
” Why tomorrow?”, Dorris asked.
Ray stopped what he is doing.
“Why do I think you’re behaving strangely?”, He asked.
Dorris swallowed.
” How I’m a behaving that is strange?”, She asked.
Ray sigh.
“Don’t be nervous. I’m sure they will treat you well. I will be there with you. Just signal to me if you want us to leave. Take note, you don’t really nee-d them to like you. We don’t nee-d their approval in our relationship. I’m just taking you to meet them out of courtesy. No matter what happens tomorrow, you have to forgive me. Don’t worry , you won’t be seeing much of them anyway, so you don’t nee-d to mind them.”, Ray told her.
” Murray, We nee-d their approval. They are your parent.”, Dorris told him.
“No we don’t. In as much as your dad will approve, forget about any thing else”, Ray said.
‘It easier said than done’, Dorris taught.
She also wished they don’t nee-d Ray parents approval but she knew better than that.
