(Make a cuter face)
Harriet wedding is second day after the new year. She is packing to stay with her parents till the wedding.
“Do you nee-d to go?”, he asked her.
” I don’t see the nee-d”, Edmund answered.
“C’mon. It’s just two days. Don’t worry you will have me to yourself forever after the wedding. I know I’m so pretty that you will miss me so much. I know you won’t be able to sleep a wink at night, bear with me. I know you can’t do without me, I know and un-derstand…..”
Edmund scoffed.
“Can you stop being narcissistic?”, he asked her.
” I’m only concerned about the baby. She may not like being moved around”, he added.
“She?Why will my baby be a she? I want a boy to be the first born.”
Edmund blinked.
“Why? I prefer girls”
Harriet scoffed.
“But I want a heir”, She said.
” We can have a guy after the cute princess”, Edmund said.
“You must be kidding me! Hmph! You want me to get pregnant a second time? You really have to pity me!”,
” Didn’t you say you want a boy child?”, Edmund asked not getting why she is yelling.
“I’m already carrying a son”, Harriet said.
” Whatever! Both are children”, Edmund said. “I just love girls. They are usually gentle and cute”
Harriet scoffed.
“That’s because you’ve not seen a stubborn one”, she said.
” I guess you’re right. There should be girls like you. Obstinate kids”, Edmund said and walk out of the room.
Harriet did throw something at him but he is already out of the room.
“je-rk!”
Dorris was busy with her phone while Ray is busy watching her.
He sigh when she is still not paying him attention.
“I guess your phone is more important than your husband”, he said.
Dorris looked at him.
” Are you jealous of a cell phone, Murray?”, Dorris asked.
“Yes, I am. So what?”, he said shamelessly.
” I’m just chatting with Ashley. She wants us to hang out. She will be coming to my dad’s place tomorrow to celebr@te new year”, Dorris explained.
She did not tell Ashley and Douglas about her new place because she knew they will want to come over. Ray things is everywhere in the house so she didn’t want them to come.
“Can I come along?”, Ray asked making a puppy face.
” Make a cuter face”, Dorris said And Ray pouted.
Dorris laughed.
“What will I tell my dad if you come over?”, she asked him.
” We will just tell him we are dating. C’mon, I want to come”, Ray said.
Dorris sigh. She knew he won’t give up easily.
“Fine, let’s go together”, she said.
Ray smiled. He is excited. After all, ge is meeting her family. He hu-gged her. “That aside, It’s few hours to new year, I think we should be cuddling in bed enjoying the cold night un-der the blanket”
Dorris swallowed.
He bite her ear lobe sensually,
“What do you think, wifey”
Dorris knees went weak. She knew she will be deprived of sleep tonight. Just one round is never okay for Murray.
“You pervert. Do you have to start a new year with…”
Ray pec-ked her li-ps.
“I’m your husband, you’re my wife. What’s wrong with it?”, he asked her.
He took her lower li-ps into his mouth.
Dorris M0-ned.
Ray smi-rked.
” Don’t forget to use protection”, Dorris told him in between their make out.
“Don’t worry. I won’t forget”, he said.
Mr dalton was fuming with anger.
” what’s her name?”, he asked the private investigator.
“Dorris.”
“You said she is an upcoming artiste?”, Mr Dalton asked.
” Yes. She signed with Rays entertainment. “, the investigator replied.
” What does her father do?”, He asked.
“He sells electrical gadgets, mechanical…..”
“He owns shop?”, Mr Dalton simply asked.
“Yes”
Mr Dalton scoffed.
“This will be easier than I expected. I want to see the girl first before I make other plans. If she cooperated with me, I won’t nee-d to dirty my hands”, Ray’s father said.
When Harry saw her message he was excited.
Harley__Will you like to eat dinner with my parents on new year. My mum really wants to see you.
Harry took de-ep breathes before replying.
Harry__Sure. Are you sure you’re not the one missing me?
He was pacing the room as he await her reply.
Harley__ Why would I miss you?
Harry frowned.
He drop the phone on the bed. He did not like the reply but be br@ced up.
Harry__But I miss you. Dress prettily for me tomorrow. See you.
Harry had decided that he will not waver. He is going to win her heart at all cost. He is going to make her falk de-eply in love with him. It is just as a matter of time. Harry is sure that he can wait. He is going to be patient. While waiting for her, he us not going to stop showing her his sincerity until she rejected him directly.
Ava is in a bad mood.
She had been drinking, breaking things and getting mad at her servants. She is staying in her private mansion because she did not want her parent to see her in that state.
“He is mine! Who said he can say no to our engagement? Who said he can have a girlfriend? He can’t stand me? That je-rk”, she kept thinking out loud.
She just couldn’t accept the fact that she was rejected.
” How dare him reject me? How can he rudely trample on my pride like that? Did he even has a conscience?”
Ava had always gotten what she wanted. She had never been denied of anything before.
She don’t play games because she hates losing. While she was a kid, she played a game with her friends and lost, she cried and refuse to eat for days.
In middle school, she lost her first position in clas-s to someone and she cried at home that her parents had to pay to forge the result.
In college, she once answered a question wrongly and she sent a gang of thu-gs to beat up the guy who answered the question right. That’s the kind of person Ava is. She can not lose to other people and she must get what she wants. And she wants Ray.
She will not rest until she get him to herself. She is going to use all means available to claim her ‘thing’.

(She is worthy of more expensive things)
Ray parked his car in the garage. He open the trunk to bring out the gifts he bought for his father in law. Dorris came out of the car too.
“Let me help you”, she offered. He bought so many gifts even though she told him not to bother. He had insisted to buy every thing.
” Don’t worry. I can manage”, he responded. He brou-ght everything out .
“I wanted to come clean to your father”, he said as they walk to the elevator.
Dorris raise her brow as to say ‘as how’
The elevator opened and they entered.
” I wanted to tell him that we are married”, Ray said as Dorris pressed the bu-tton for the floor they are going.
She widen her eyes.
“Don’t! My dad will want an extravagant wedding and we don’t want that for now, do we?”, she asked.
” I do”, Ray said.
Dorris sigh.
“But don’t worry. I will respect your thought”, he said.
Dorris smiled.
” Thanks”
She is not ready to tell the world about her marriage. This time around not just because of her career but because of the kind of person Ray is. She still believed that they are not in the same league.
The Elevator opened and the couple walked out of the elevator There are three apartment on that floor. Dorris simply walked to one of them and enter the pas-scode.
The door unlocked and they entered.
They met Ashley and Douglas in the living room watching TV.
“Happy new year, Ash”, Dorris said opening her arms for a hu-g.
Ashley stood up and hu-g her friend.
” Happy new year to you too”
Ashley blus-hed when she saw Ray. Though, she is not really a fan girl, She is still fawning on Ray.
“Happy new year”, Ray greeted her and sat himself on the sofa.
” Happy new year sis. Happy new year Ray”, Douglas greeted.
“Why will you call him Ray?”, Ashley asked Douglas hitting him.
” What then should I call him. Every body call him Ray, even a year old child”, Douglas said as a matter of fact.
“But he is your elder sis boyfriend. You should call him Brother”, Ashley insisted
Douglas scoffed.
” You’re one to talk”, he muttered.
Ray smiled.
“Don’t bother to scold my brother in law. I’m fine with whatever he calls me.After all, I’m still trying to gain his favour.”, Ray said casually.
Dorris sat down on the floor.
” Where is dad?”, she asked.
“In the kitchen”, Ashley replied.
“Didn’t we nee-d to greet your dad?”, Ray asked.
” No nee-d, my son”, a voice said, footsteps followed, then a wisp of delicious aroma.
Louis place the dish on the dining table and came to the living room.
Ray stood up immediately to greet him. Dorris father is still young and he gave Ray a bright smile.
“Hello sir”, Ray greeted.
Dorris father stretched his hand for an handshake. Ray took his hand.
” Nice meeting you”, Louis said.
Ray smiled.
“Your name?”, Louis asked.
” Murray”, Ray replied.
“Such a manly name”, Louis said.
” Happy new year dad”, Dorris greeted.
“Same to you my sweetheart”, Her father replied.” You have such a handsome boyfriend.”, Louis said.
The younger ones laughed.
“I’m I not handsome too, dad?”, Douglas asked.
” You’re very handsome too buddy. I’m sure your girlfriend will also consider her self lucky for catching the attention of my handsome son”, Louis joked.
Douglas and Ashley shared a secret glance.
“I brou-ght this for you, Uncle”,Ray said.
Louis accepted the shopping bags.
” All for me?”, he asked.
“Yes”, Ray replied.
” You shouldn’t have bothered”, Louis said.
“I told him but he said courtesy demands”, Dorris said.
” Thanks so much, Ray”, the older man said.
“You’re welcome sir”, Ray said.
” Food is ready. You guys can go ahead to the dining.”, Louis said.
“Father the food is smelling delicious”, Ashley said.
Louis smiled.
” Don’t worry Ash. I’m sure it taste even better”, He joked.
They all sat down in the dining ready to eat.
“Your face kind of look familiar, Ray”, Louis began.
” That’s because he used to be a celebrity.”, Douglas replied.
“Really?”, Louis asked.
” Yes, Uncle”, Ray replied.
“So what are you doing now?”, he asked her.
” Business “,Ray responded.
” That’s good. You have to take care of Dorris”, the nan said.
“I will take good care of her”, Ray promised.
Louis smiled.
” I will trust you”
“He is already taking good care of her. He even bought her a lamborghini……”
Douglas yelped in pain as Ashley pinched him and Dorris kicked him silently un-der the dining table.
“What? You had a car Dorris?”, Louis caught on.
” Yes. He just gifted me”, Dorris said.
“I’m planning to tell you”, Dorris lied. She didn’t want to tell him because she knew it will not sit down well with him.
“You gave her a car?”, Louis turned to Ray.
” Yes.”, Ray responded.
“Isn’t that gift too extravagant?”, Louis asked.
” She is worthy of more expensive gifts”, Ray replied.
Louis didn’t know what to say anymore.
He turned to Dorris.
“Be careful while driving”, He told her.
” yes dad”, Dorris responded.
They finish eating and returned to the living room to relax while Douglas and Ray offered to do the dishes.
Dorris was wondering of Ray knows how to do the dishes and asked to do it but he told her he can manage.
Louis turned to Ashley, “Ash, what do you think of Dorris boyfriend? Are you sure I can trust him with her?”, he asked. He had promised his wife to always look out for the children and he was especially concerned about Dorris since she was a girl.
” Ray is a good person father. I’m not saying this to take side with Dorris but I think he is trust worthy. After all, he did not lack girls throwing their self at him. He used to be a super star and he came from a very rich family too. He retired from the entertainment industry to handle his father company. In as much as he is good to Dorris, I’m not against their relationship “, Ashley said.
Louis sigh.
He turned to Dorris.
” Because he is rich does not mean you should stoop low and start asking him for every thing. Don’t make yourself cheap. Remember the child of whom you’re. And don’t cause trouble for your boyfriend. He love you as it is”, the man said.
“I know”, Dorris said.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Ray and Douglas are doing the dishes.
” I heard you work as an as-sistant secretary?”, Ray asked him.
“Yes”, Douglas replied.
” Do you mind working in H&D?”, Ray asked.
Douglas thought he heard wrong.
“Your company?”, he asked.
” Yes”, Ray replied.
Then Douglas suddenly screamed
“Yeeeees”
