He stopped still holding her chin and looking into her eyes.
“We didn’t break up before she left. I wanted to clear things with her”, Edmund explained.
” I wanted to start afresh with you with nothinug holding me back. I’m sorry if you are angry that I asked you to leave”
“Can we forget about that and continue what we are doing?”, Harriet asked him.
And she started the ki-ss this tine around but the man took over.
Harriet wanted more. She pressed her body on him.
They stop ki-ssing to catch their breath.
” I want more Ed”
“Keep quiet or I will take you here and right now”
“I want you here”, Harriet said again daring him.
The man opened the car and she entered lying on the seat. He came at her like a predator…………………
It was such a long night.
Anyone who saw the shaking car will know what is happening with just one glance.
Dorris came out of her room and saw Vickey leaning on the door and Toby leaning on her almost ki-ssing her.
Dorris coughed and they both turn to look at her.
” sis”, Toby called.
“Why don’t you just enter the room?”, she asked them.
Vickey blus-hed.
” I was leaving “, she muttered.
” But you couldn’t because a Predator wants to prey on you”, Dorris said.
“I’m no predator”, Toby half yelled.
” You two should be careful so that you will not get into a scandal. You know how it is in our industry”, Dorris said and walk away.
“It’s all your fault. Why are you so slow? I’ve been in your room for hours and you didn’t make any move. I was leaving and you tried to ki-ss me, somebody could have seen us!”, Vickey yelled.
” Someone did. I mean someone saw us!”
“This is how to ki-ss”, Vickey said and before Toby could blink twice, her soft munchy li-ps landed on his.
Ashley was cooking dinner and Douglas was sleeping on her bed.
” You leave after eating”, she told him.
“Okay.”, Douglas replied playing with his phone.
” Let’s go on a date this weekend”, she told him.
“Decide”, was all Douglas said.
Ashley scoffed. She walked to him and snatch his phone.
” If you know you will keep on playing with your phone and not come to me, don’t bother to come here.”, She told him.
Douglas sigh.
“Sorry, can you hand back the phone?”, he asked.
” I’m I more important or the phone?”, she asked.
“You”, Douglas replied.
” Then can I flush the phone down the sink?”, she asked again.
“My! Ashley, this is the latest model…..”
“Of course, your phone is more important than I am”, Ashley said and dropped the phone on him
angrily.
Douglas sigh.
He got down from the bed and hu-g her from behind.
” I’m sorry Ashley. I will concentrate more on you”, he said.
Ashley pouted.
“Will you?”, she asked and Douglas find her cute.
” yes. Will you forgive me now?”, he asked.
She hissed.
“On what ground?”, she asked.
” Do you want a ki-ss?”, he asked.
Ashley scoffed.
“You will be benefiting from the ki-ss not me”
Douglas laughed.”You are so cute Ashley. I don’t think I can stop loving you”.
“Of course. You must not stop loving me.”
A knock.
Another one.
Ashley and Douglas froze when they saw Dorris face on the security camera.
“What the hell is she doing here?”, Douglas asked.
” Did she call you?”, he asked Ashley.
“No she didn’t”, Ashley said.” What do we do?”,
“I will hide”, Douglas said.
” You have to send her home in time”
“You were preparing dinner. I will eat here before going home.”, Dorris said as she enter the room.
” You’re sleeping at your Dad’s?”, Ashley asked.
“Yes. Or do you want me to sleep over?”, Dorris asked sleeping on the bed.
Ashley noticed Douglas suitcase peeping out. She use her leg to push it un-der the bed.
” Were you with someone?”, Dorris asked.
Ashley ignore her question and focus on her cooking.
“All done. Let’s eat”, Ashley said.
” It look nice”, Dorris said. “I will probably learn how to cook from you”
“Not me. I don’t have enough patient to teach you.”
“Why is this place smelling familiar?”, Dorris suddenly asked.
Ashley tried to remain casual.
” Why won’t it smell familiar, you slept over several times. It is smelling like me.”, Ashley said.
“I know this smell”, Dorris insisted sniffing around.
” Perfume. Male perfume…… Douglas! This is the perfume Douglas is using “, Ashley said.
” Really?”, Ashley swallowed.
Damn his perfume!
“He was probably using the same perfume”, Ashley said.
” My neighbour came here earlier. That one hitting on me. He stayed for coffee “, Ashley said.
” I see”, Dorris muttered and sat down.
They started eating.
“Aren’t you busy at the agency?”, Ashley asked.
” We will busy as from next week. You know Christmas is near.”, Dorris said.
“Okay. Eat up”
Ashley could not concentrate on her food. Her mind us constantly drifting to her boyfriend in the closet.
After the food, Dorris stood up.
“Ash, I will be on my way now. Dad will not like it if I come in late”, Dorris said.
” Okay.Good night”, Ashley said.
“You won’t see me off?”, Dorris asked.
” I’m sorry but I’m sleepy. I will call you tomorrow”, Ashley said and fake a yawn.
“Okay. Take care of yourself and date”, Dorris said.
” Okay, bestie. Good night”, Ashley said.
She rushed to her wardrobe immediately she closed the door.
The sight in front of her is surprising.
The guy actually slept in such situation?
Ashley woke him up.
He ru-bbed his sleepy eye and stood up.
“Sis is gone?”, he asked.
” Yes.”, Ashley replied.
“I will take a Taxi home then. I have to get home before her.”, Douglas said.
” Okay. Avoid the bus stop. She may be there.”, Ashley called after him.
“Good night babe”, Douglas said and ran out of the room.
Harriet woke up on a bed. Last night even floods in. Harriet smiled. She noticed she was wearing a night gown. He probably changed her dress.
She climb down the bed and felt slight soreness down there. Yesterday is not her first time having s-× but she felt like it is her first time.
Edmund is definitely not a gentleman she taught he is. He was very rou-ghon her last night.
And she liked how rou-ghhe was!

(The first snow)
Dorris woke up and look out of the window.
It’s snowing. The first snow. Her first snow with Ray.
She called Ray.
Dorris?_ Murray, good morning.
Murray?_Morning babe
Dorris?_Are you still sleeping?
Murray?_uhn.
Dorris?_It’s first snow. Let’s go to the ski resort at night.
Murray?Ok. Anything for you.
Dorris smiled.
Dorris?_I’m so excited to see the first snow.
Murray?_Why? Snow is troublesome you know.
Dorris?_Murray, you have to come early. You know this is our first snow together.
Murray ?_okay. Dress warmly so that you will not catch a cold.
Dorris?_okay. Stop nagging.
Murray?_See you in the evening, babe.
Dorris?_hmm
She dropped the phone. She is excited.
She hoped he will not mention marriage again so that they won’t quarrel again.
Ashley was at work when she saw the notification.
Douglas sent money to her.
Ashley raised her brows. While will he send money to her. For what?
She dialed his number but he is not answering. She decided to ask him later when they meet.
She checked her wrist watch.
How dare that guy make her wait? She’d waited for ten minutes.
She finally saw him. He ran to her.
“Ashley”, He called, grinning.
” Don’t you know you shouldn’t be late when you ask a woman out?”, she asked.
“I’m sorry. I got delayed”
“You should wear thicker coats”, Ashley told him.
” Okay. I will obey you “, he said.
” Do you want to go to the Ski resort?”, he asked her.
“No. Let’s just eat dinner”, Ashley said.
” You sent money to me. Do you want to keep it for you? “, She asked him as they walk side by side.
” It’s my first salary and it’s for you “, He told her.
” Why?”, Ashley asked stopping in her tracks.
“I mean why is your first salary for me. If you really want to give someone, he should be your dad”, Ashley said.
” That’s what a filial child will do”, She added.
“But I wanted to give you…”.
” I will send this back to you. Wire it to your dad. Trust me, he will be proud of you. You can give the next salary to me but not this, okay?”, Ashley told him.
“Okay”, Douglas said. ” I will obey you”
Ray just finished a meeting. His as-sistant came to him immediately he got out of the meeting room.
“Chairman, Miss Ava is waiting in the office”, Jerome said.
Ray wondered what she is up to.
He entered his office. She smiled when she saw him.
” You look tired uhn?”, she said.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to stop dropping in without calling me?”, he asked.
Ava ignored him.
” I saw that it’s first snow today. Shall we go to a ski resort?”, she asked him.
“Not today”, he told her.
” Why not?”, Ava asked.
“I have somewhere to go”, Ray simply said.
” But I really want to go the ski resort during first snow”,
“Then go alone!”, Ray half yelled.
” I want to go with you Ray!”, Ava insists.
“What if I said I’m not going with you? Do you think you can order me around?”, he asked her.
” Ray, Please go out with with me tonight. Hear me out please”, Ava said.
“Let’s go some other day”, Ray told her.
” Do you want me to teach Dorris a lesson? Shall I start with her father, her brother or her friend? Should I send them all out in the streets!”, Ava asked.
“Then I will give them shelter. Then I will return whatever it is they took from them”, Ray said.
Ava let out a small laugh.
” It seems you don’t know how prideful the people in the slums are. They prefer whatever they have to receiving charity. They want to live their life the way they’ve been living it. The moment I start haras-sing them, she will leave you if that will bring things back to the way it usually is. It is not as if she liked you”, Ava said.
Ray face darken.
“Ava, are you threatening me?”, he asked her.
” No, I’m not. I’m only trying to get what I want”, Ava said.
“You……”
“Ray, let’s go to the sky resort, please”, Ava pleaded.
” I really want to go”, She added.
Ray brou-ght out his phone and texted Dorris.
“I’m going on a business dinner. I won’t be able to accompany you tonight”.
He felt bad for lying to her but he had to.
“Let’s go”, he told Ava.
Ava sm-irks.
She knew he would follow her.
The elevator opened and he came out of the elevator with Ava. Many thoughts are running throu-ghhis head. How to convince his parents to allow him live his own life.
He is also wondering if Dorris love him. If she really will stay with him for long. If she will stand by his side in time of storms and heavy rain. If she will not be wavered by the heavy wind. If she will be able to stand the hot sun and cruel heat of his world. He also wonder if he will be able to protect her. He wonder if he will be able to express his love and care for her. He remembered the way his brother stood Melinda up when they are about to get married, his brother jilted Melinda and escaped from this world alone. He remembered Vividly that the people from their world did not accept Melinda because she is an entertainer. The upper clas-s people saw entertaining as something meant for the lower clas-s. He remembered the trouble his brother was going throu-ghbefore his death. He remembered how his mother haras-sed Melinda on the streets. He remembered how his parent embarras-sed Melinda the day she visited their house with his brother. He remembered how his father swore to disown his brother if he will not stop seeing Melinda. He remembered when he went to his brother begging him not to leave the family and that he should nake up with their father because he(Ray) knew he will be for-ced to come and take over the family business and stop playing around_that’s is what his father call his career as an artiste. Ray is so scared. He didn’t want Dorris to go throu-ghthe same thing Melinda went throu-gh. He wanted to protect Dorris. That’s why he is allowing Ava to order him around.
Immediately they walk out of the elevator, Ray saw Dorris waiting there with a smile on her face but the smile faded immediately Dorris saw Ava beside him.
Dorris turned and Ran out.
Ray ran after ignoring Ava calls.
Ava stomped her feet angrily.
“Damn that wench!”, she yelled, her veins popping out.
