But when he took a look at the person again, he found out that it is someone he knows. Panic spread fluttering wings………
It’s vickey.
How can it be? Why Will she try to kill herself. Without thinking, Toby rushed to her and drew her back. They fell on the roof top together.
“What are you trying to do. Do you think killing yourself will solve all this? Are you silly. Why will you commit suicide? You may not be a big star now but you’re making it. Is it family problems, there are people facing more challenges out there. If you don’t even like yourself, you should at least think about those you left behind. In this world, there are many ups and down. Even I am facing problems that are more than this. My dad is wealthy but what’s the use since I am an illegitimate son? My mother was his mistress. Do you even know what illegitimate sons do go throu-gh? Those people in the higher clas-s treats Illegitimate children like sC-ums. I have a rich father that could help me become a well- know celebrity with months but here I am trying to make it big on my own. Call hundred people and ask them what they are going throu-gh, you will hear a lot of things and you will wonder if that is really happen on this earth.
My sister suicide is not the answer to whatever you’re going throu-gh. Don’t allow yourself to be depressed. Think about what you’re going throu-gh, but don’t think to much. Rather than crying over split milk, why don’t you start looking for how to get another jar of milk.
Live on. The more you live , the more you get to know that there is more to this world. You will get to see the positive side of this world and also the negative sides. I don’t know what you’re going throu-ghbut I know it is not something new. You’re not the first person to go throu-ghit and you will not be the last.
You have to forget about the dull side of this world and focus sorely on the brighter side. Suicide is not an option”, Toby rambled on.
“Mr motivational speaker can you let go. I don’t even un-derstand what you’re saying. Who is commiting suicide? Who wants to die? I know how sweet this world is than you do. I won’t die without dating!”, Vickey said, still in the same position they are when they fell. Toby is lying on the ground holding vickey firmly in his grasp.
” Let go of me now!”, Vickey yelled.
Toby swallowed and let her go. They both stood up.
“You won’t thank me for saving your life instead you’re yelling”, He said.
Vickey scoffed.
” You’re the busy body here. I’m not even trying to kill myself. Why would I. Like I said before, I’ve not even dated. I’ve not tried all the dishes available in this world. I’ve not bought my dream car. I’ve not lived in a mansion. I’ve not even live up to my dream_not at all. So what reason do I have to die?”, Vickey asked.
“But, you were standing there…”
“I’m just getting some fresh air”, Vickey cut in.
” I’m sorry. It seems I was mistaken”, Toby said. He felt awkward.
“I have an advice for you”, Vickey started.
” What?”, Toby asked.
“Be a motivational speaker. I mean you’re so talented”
Toby was embarras-sed.
“Can you not be so sarcastic?”, he asked.
Vickey laughed.
“Thanks anyway. You actually broke my thought and brighten my mood. I was in a bad mood earlier.”, Vickey confessed.
” But I wasn’t trying to kill my self. I’m just thinking about things. I nee-d someone to talk to. Just listen”, she told him.
“You don’t nee-d to say anything.”, she added.” Just hear me out”
“Okay”, Toby said and sat down on a bench.
“I lost my family to a fire outbreak. They all died in it, mum, dad, my sister and my lil bro. I was in the boarding school. Then I found out they are not even my family at all. They adopted me as one of their own and they treated me nicely. I wonder if I’m a scourge. I lived with my foster dad mother and she died too six months after my parent death. It left me with no one earth. They all left me on my own. They should have taken me along. It’s so lonely. I have no one to run to. No body to talk to.”
Tears started running down her cheeks.
“I use to blame my self for my family death. My Grandma died in an accident when she was trying to take me to the hospital when I suddenly felt sick at night. Such a nice woman who treats me so well even though she knew I’m not her biological grand child died because of me on the cold streets on a cold night with me watching her and not been able to do anything. I was helpless. Do I even deserve to live? Do I really pour bile into that happy family joy? I’m I a jinx?Do I deserve a happy life. Before grandma breathed her last breathe, she was still thinking about me. Her last words were:” Be happy, Victoria. ”
This is why I’ve been trying to put on smile and live happily all my life but I feel I didn’t really deserve it.”
Vickey sniff.
“That’s why I don’t have friends, I’m afraid to bring my bad luck on them. I’m afraid to pour sand in their pap. I’m afraid to watch evil things happen to them right before me. I’m so scared.
I’m afraid. I really am. I want friends too. I want family too. But I’m afraid of attachments. I’m afraid of having relationship with people. What if something happen to them? What will I do? Where will I run to. I’m so lonely. So so lonely.”
Toby stood behind her.
“Overcome your fears Victoria. You’re not at fault. You’re no scourge or jinx. You’re just a beautiful lovely girl everyone loves_Your foster family:your dad, mum, sister, brother and your grandma. You are loved by all of them. You nee-d to think positively from now on. Think positively so that good things will happen around you. You have to obey your granny and live happily. You got to be Happy”, Toby said.
Vickey hu-gged him, he stiffened.
” You really nee-d to be a motivational speaker”, She said softly.
“I will be a motivational speaker for just you. Friends?”, Toby asked.
Vickey look up at him still hu-gging him.
” Friends”, She said and smile.

(Past, present and future)
Dorris walked into the cafe dressed in a simple top and jean trousers. She really didn’t want to come but she did anyway.
She saw Ava sitting with a pretty lady. She walk up to them.
“Hello”, she greeted and sat down.
” I thought you wouldn’t come”, Ava said.
“I didn’t really want to see you but you said you’re with someone I will really want to meet”, Dorris said
” And you said you’re not curious “, Ava said.
” Well, I was”, Dorris shrugged.
“I don’t even know. Why would i want to meet her”, Dorris asked after taking another look at Harriet.
Harriet was not really giving I a friendly look, so Dorris ignored her. Harriet eyes is busy criticizing Dorris the moment she walked in.
” Don’t mind my manners.”, Ava said.
“This is Harriet, Ray’s past”, Ava said and Dorris raise her brow.
” Harriet meet Dorris, Ray’s present “, Ava continued looking like she is enjoying what she is saying.
” And Am Ava, Ray’s future. You know the future is always brighter than the present and past. “, Ava added.
Both Dorris and harriet fisted their hands.
” What’s the meaning of all this?”, Harriet asked.
“Didn’t you want to meet the woman Ray is always talking about?”, Ava asked.
” You…”, Harriet gritted her teeth, and clench her fist.
Dorris smi-rked.
“Nice meeting Miss Harriet. And you Miss Ava, are you enjoying your self. You’re having fun right? Go on and act like teenagers. Don’t you think you’re being childish. No matter what you do, I liked Ray and he liked me too. Though we’ve only met recently, I’m sure my relationship with him is not that weak to break easily because of someone like you.”
“His parents picked me”
“Ray is Ray. He is the one I have business with not his parents. Don’t ever call me again!”, Dorris said and walk out.
Ava clenched her fist ti-ghter.
” You’re so childish, Miss Ava. You better grow up”, Harriet said and walk out.
Ray checked his phone when he heard the beep.

Ray raise his brow in question.
He quickly typed.
Ray__Where are you?

Ray__you’re here to see me? Wow! This is so unlike you. I will come down now. Wait for me in the lobby.
Ray stood up hurriedly and entered the elevator. He got to the lobby and the workers around turn to look at him. He saw her and walk to her. He noticed she is not in a good mood.
“What happened?”, he asked.
She hu-gged him instead of replying. Ray was so excited that she will take the initiative to hu-g me. Since she is an upcoming celebrity, he took her in his arms hiding her face in his che-st. He entered the executive elevator.
“What suddenly got into you?”, He asked her.
” Ray, you can not break up with me no matter what. I’m the only one who can break up with you.”, Dorris said.
“Why are you so domineering today, babe. This is so unlike you.
The elevator opened and they entered his office. He put her on the sofa gently.
” What happened? “, he asked her.
“Why didn’t you tell me about your first love?”, she asked.
“Why are you talking about first love suddenly? Don’t tell me you met Harriet?”, He asked.
” And she is so pretty at that. I always felt that since you don’t like Ava, I don’t nee-d to worry but now your first love. And I heard men ha-rdly forgets about their first love. What do I do now? Have I really met a rival?”, Dorris asked.
Ray sigh.
“You don’t have to worry about anyone, Dorris. Not Ava, not Harriet. Yeah, she was my first love but we didn’t date okay. The love wasn’t even reciprocated. Harriet likes someone else. I like you Dorris and only you. I cared about you so much and I don’t want you to worry.”, Ray explained.
” I will not allow anyone to bully you. You should know that your boyfriend is very capable. Don’t worry about other women. Let’s just think about us”, he added and held her hands in his.
“I will not worry if you ask me not to but you have to promise that you will not look at other women. I’m so possessive you know.”, Dorris said, sniffing and Ray laughed.
” What’s funny!”, she asked him.
“You’re so cute”, he said.
Dorris rolled her eyes.
Harriet headed to a bar and started drinking. She felt complicated. She didn’t even know what she is really feeling. Did she really love Ray?
Is she sincere with her feelings or she just want to use him to substitute her feelings for Dwight.
She overheard Harry and Ray talking and found out Ray loved her. It is not as if she couldn’t see it in his actions towards her.
But then she loved someone else so much then that she ignored Rays feelings, pretended she didn’t know he like her and even take advantage of him severally. She enjoyed the love Ray showered an didn’t want him to stop loving her. At the same time, she wants Dwight loved to. She ended up following Dwight abroad and he jilted her.
Harriet ordered more drink.
Dwight didn’t love her anymore.
Ray got over her and loves someone else now and she got nothing. She is all alone now. Now that she think about it, she really didn’t love Ray. She isn’t ready to give him anything, she just wanted to collect things from him. Harriet wondered if she should have stayed abroad.
Harriet staggered to the washroom.
She was returning when she ran into someone.
She fell on the person. The guy was caught unaware. Though he had been watching her in the bar. He helped her into the bar. He sat down with her for a while until the bar owner came to him.
“Sir, are you with this lady. We are closing”, the man said.
The stranger look at Harriet. He is sure she is too drunk to know where her place is.
” We will leave now”, the stranger told the bar owner.
