Ashley entered the Lobby.
“Are you looking for someone?”, Douglas asked.
” Are you here to see a movie?”, she asked.
“Yes”, he replied.
” You can join us if you like”
” Of Course”, He replied.
Then Ashley saw him. He saw her too and smiled.
Douglas regretted it when Ashley starts walking to the man.
“Hi”, Ashley greeted.
” Hello, miss Ashley”, The man greeted. He saw Douglas.
“Oh! You….”
Ashley cuts in.
“He is my brother”,
” We met earlier. My name is Peter.” The man said.
“Aren’t you meeting a date?”, he asked.
Douglas suddenly waved.
” I will have to excuse you. My date is around “, he said and ran off.
” Date?”, Ashley asked.
“Yes. We met earlier and he said he is here to meet his date”, Peter said.
” I’ve been calling you, what is wrong with your line?”
“My line ?”, he asked.
He took out his phone to check.
“Someone tampered with my phone. It’s on air plane mode. Oh! I gave my phone to that guy…….”
It’s his birthday. He does not want to spend it in loneliness. His mother had actually invited him to the house for dinner but he wouldn’t go to that house. He would rather have his birthday with strangers that go back to that so call family.
He decided to spend night in a karaoke bar. It was boring singing in a Karaoke bar alone. He was coming back from the restroom when he heard a voice singing, he liked that song and the way the person is singing it. He entered the room un-der the influence of the melody. He took the second microphone and started singing along with her. When the song ended, they clapped.
“You!”, the lady said,
” Vickey”, he called and sat down drinking water.
“What are you doing in a bar alone?”, He asked her.
” Nothing. Just celeBr@ting my birthday. ”
“It’s your birthday today?”,he asked.
” Yes”
“It’s my birthday too, ”
“Really?”, Vickey asked.
” Yes. ”
” Shall we sing a happy birthday song for each other then?”, Vickey teased.
“I will pas-s. Let me treat you to dinner instead. I don’t want to eat alone.”, Toby told her.
” How do you know? I don’t want to eat alone too. Let’s just eat together then. We will split the bill”
“No. I will pay”, Toby said.
” No. We split the bills”, Vickey insists.
“I’m sorry but I don’t like free meals”, she added.
” Okay. I will buy dinner and you will buy dessert ”
“You really want to pay. I will help you spend your money then”, Vickey said and they both laughed.
Dorris opened the door and he entered her room.
” Why are you here this late at night?”, She asked him.
Ray sat down on her bed.
“It is not too late to see a girl.”, He said.
” Don’t you think you’re wicked?”, Ray asked.
“Pardon?”
“How dare you sleep when I couldn’t sleep a wink? Did you even miss me. Is your career so Important than I am?”, He asked.
Dorris laughed.
” I miss you more than you miss me”, she said.
“I fail to believe that. Sometimes I wonder if you really like me.”
Dorris laugh again.
“Is this funny?”, Ray asked because it is really not funny at all.
” I miss you every second, babe don’t you think you have to get marry soon? You don’t want to get Older before getting married.”
“I’m still young okay. Don’t talk about marriage or whatever”
Ray scoffed.
“Marriage is not even gonna affect your career……”
Dorris cut in.
“Murray, Let’s not talk about that topic okay”, then she muttered even though Ray heard.
” It is not as if you’re my future husband”
Ray called Harry out that night to drink in his house. He just couldn’t sleep.
“Calling a man out of bed when the sun has set, who do you think you are.”
Ray is already tipsy by the time Harry arrived.
“I did not un-derstand women”, he said drunkenly.
“I did not un-derstand them too”, Harry responded while he pour himself a drink.
” How can she say that?”, Ray asked again.
“Who and what did she say?”, Harry asked.
” That woman, she said It’s not as if you are my future husband . I thought she loved me the way I love her then I remember again that we’ve not really confessed love to each other. I wanted to tell her I love her but I’m afraid to scare her away. We’ve not known each other for long, but I know that I want to spend all my life with her. I don’t really know her that much but I’m ready to learn more about her and un-derstand her better. I know she is my other half. I felt drunk each time I think about her. I thought she felt the same way towards me when she agreed to be my girlfriend. I…”
“Wait you had a girl friend?”, Harry asked.
“That thief! She stole my heart and now she’s been cruel. How dare her? I’m loved by all nation. How dare her reject me so coldly. I’ve been dying since I met and I nee-d her closer to me to be able to live. I really want to marry her. I’m so insecure. What if some guy come around and take her away. She is already planning to jilt me for some guy. If not why will she be saying I’m not her future husband. If it is not me, then who else did she like. Why is she still using future, when is she planning to get married. If there is a spouse, isn’t marriage the next thing?”, Ray gulped.
” AW! You reek of alcohol. How long have you been drinking? “.
” She broke my heart. How can she say that? Is she planning to break up with me? ”
“In her dream”, Ray huffs.
Harry yawned.
” I am sorry. I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t even un-derstand all you are saying”
Ray sigh.
“You will soon un-derstand”, He told his friend.
” I don’t want to un-derstand and I won’t un-derstand. Why will I un-derstand something so painful?”, Harry asked.
“I was once like you until that fateful meeting I called coincidences.
Harry droved into the compound that evening with his sister.
” I wondered why they insists we come home”, he complained.
“Do you know Ray has a fiancee?”, Harriet asked.
” Fiancee? Could she be the one he is talking about yesterday?”, He replied.
“He talked about a woman?”, Harriet asked maintaining her calm posture but fisting her hand.
” Yes”
“I see”, Harriet said.
The truth is she knows that Ray likes her.
The twin got down from the car and walked into the house.
The first person Harry saw immediately he entered the living room…………

Upon entering the living room, Harry’s blue eyes ran into big brown eyes. Harry did not believe in love not to talk of love at first sight. If the way he is feeling right now is called love, he did not know but he knew that he wants this woman.
It is Harriet voice that brou-ght him back to life.
“Hello ma”, Harriet greeted the stranger.
” Oh! Is this the twin girl, so cute. I always wished to have twin”, The woman said.
“Harry come over and say your greeting. This is Mrs Bugwell.”, his mum said.
” Hello ma”, Harry greeted the woman.
“Oh this is my son-in-law! I always wish to have boys”
The woman daughter cringed. She just can’t get used to the way her mum ki-ss up to people.
“Son-in-law?”, Harriet asked for Harry who is too dumbstruck to talk.
” kids, meet Harley,She is Mrs bugwell daughter. Isn’t she pretty?”, Diana asked her kids.
“Soooooo pweety”, Harry said and Harley blus-hes.
Harriet shook her head at Harry shamelessness why the women laughed.
” Do you like her, Harry? We are planning to matchmake you….”
“Who wouldn’t like her. I want to be with her for the rest of my life”
Harley scoffed.
“What kind of pick up lines is this? Weird”, She said.
Diana grab Harriet.
” Daughter, let’s prepare dinner why your brother and Harley get to know each other.”
Harriet sigh. She hopes they will not try to matchmake her with anybody in the future.
Ashley knock Douglas.
“What do you think you’re doing?”, She asked him.
” What every man will do for the woman they like. I can’t watch you go to blind dates with other guys!”, He told her. Ashley raise her hand again to hit him but he held her hand.
“What are you doing?”, she asked him.
” Let go”, she said again but he held her hand.
“Douglas, Let go of my hand now!”, She yelled.
” And you stop being haughty!”, he yelled.
Ashley was dumbstruck.
“You stop treating me like a kid that doesn’t know what he wants or what he is doing. I’m no more a immature kid. Sis is only two years older than me. I’m a big boy too. I know what I want. I want you Ashley”
He let go of her hand and held her shoulder.
“Is it a crime to like someone? Can’t I like you? I want to be your man Ashley. It has been in my dream for two years now. I am no more afraid. There is nothing wrong in loving someone!”
Ashley swallowed.
“Let go”, she told him and he remove his hand from her shoulder.
” Listen Douglas, you will always be a little brother to me no matter how big you think you are so stop being immature. The matters of the heart is adult things. A small boy like you wouldn’t un-derstand”
Ashley told him and walk away.
“I’m not immature, sister. I’m way more matured than you can ever expect seriously.”, He said almost to himself.
Toby had been watching Vickey. She did not seem like herself today. He can not help but worry about her.
“Why are you worried about her”, someone from within him asked.
” I don’t know. Probably because she is my birthday mate.”, he replied.
“You’re sure?”
“What do you mean?”, He asked his subconsciousness.
“You like her right ?

“You just confess that you liked her..”
“No, no. That is a sli-p of the tongue. Yes, I do like her but not in such a dirty way.”.
” How do you know I’m talking about the dirty way. Could it be that you’re liking her in the dirty way”.
“Stop it!”, Toby yelled.
” something wrong?”, Dorris asked.
“No sis”, he replied.
” Then concentrate”, Guy told him.
Ray is so restless.
“It’s been how many days now. Won’t she call me? Can’t she tell that I’m really angry when I stormed out the other day.”,
Jerome entered the office.
” Are you talking to me?”, he asked Ray.
“Could it be that Dorris did not have any feelings for me. Jerome, Am I losing my charm?,”, he asked.
” Pardon?”, Jerome asked.
“Tell me, I’ve I lost my charm?”, He asked again.

“Could it be that this office work is so stressful that I’m having wrinkles already. I nee-d a mirror. Buy me a mirror. Quick!”, Ray commanded.

“Now!”
“At it”, Jerome said and rush out if the office.
Ava sashayed into the cafe that afternoon. She dressed in a mini dress that fitted her well and she had make up on. She sat down before the woman who asked to see her_the woman that happens to be Rays first love.
” Sorry if I kept you waiting.”, Ava said and sat down.
Ava had decided before coming that she will use this woman to get rid of Dorris.
“So you’re Ray’s fiancee. I wanted to see the woman Ray is talking about. Are you worth it?”, Harriet asked.
When Ray loved her, she loved someone else and now that the person jilted her, she started loving Ray.
” And are you more worthy or do you think you’re worthy?”, Ava asked.
“Anyway, it seems you have over-estimated me. I’m Ray’s Fiancee but I’m not the woman he talks about. I wish I was as capable as that seductress. The wench had Ray in the palm of her hands. I think she is the real rival here not me. Ray didn’t even like me”
Harriet raise her brows.
“Don’t be too curious. Let meet here same place same time tomorrow”, Ava said. ” Let finish our coffee “,
Harriet wondered if Ava is just pulling her legs.
Ava just want to use Harriet to get rid of Dorris. She wants Harriet to do the dirty things for her.
Toby bought wine from the convenience sto-re and decided to go and drink on the rooftop.
On getting to the roof top, he noticed that someone is standing on the edge. Just one slight mistake, the person will die.
Toby knew instantly that the person is trying to commit suicide.
Toby wondered if he should just go so as not to be caught in the suicide scene because he knew depressed people like this are not easily convinced. They’ve decided to die and they will not listen to anyone asking them not to die.
But when he took a look at the person again, he found out that it is someone he knows. Panic spread fluttering wings………
