∆∆ THE XIAO MANSION
” You look pretty..” Jenny said to yixuan and she smiled
” So you’re in thesame clas-sas my son..” she asked while yixuan nodded
” Are you two close?”
” Mom…” Jeffrey called and she chuckled
” I’m friends with him and Violet” Yixuan replied.
She checked the time and discovered it was getting late already. They were done with lunch and she helped Jenny with the dishes
” Alright Jeff, I’ll be on my way now.. I’ve sent you the address too in case you and Violet want to come over..” she said
” You should visit often okay?” Jenny smiled at her and she smiled back before nodding.
Jeffrey just stared at his mom as if she was insane.
” I will see her off ” he said and she nodded
” Hope my mom didn’t bother you?” Jeffrey asked as they got her car
” Not really, she’s sweet and caring” yixuan replied which made him chuckle
” Yeah, and a talkative too “.. he said and she laughed.
” You should get going ” he said and She hug-ged him unexpectedly before entering her car
” Bye and thanks for today.. ” she waved and with that, she drove off

∆ Zhan’s snack shop
Violet walked up to Ryan who was still chitchatting with mrs Zhan
” Are you done?” He asked when he noticed her presence
” Not yet.” she replied, sitting next to him
” I think I should go home now.. don’t forget to come over tomorrow so we could read for the exams okay?” He said, stro-king her hair and she smiled while Mrs Zhan cleared her throat
” You two can’t play your lovey dovey in my shop. You both should continue it outside, I still have a single employee here.. ” she said staring at Mujin
” What?” Mujin rolled his eyes earning a giggle from Violet.
“I’ll be back..” Violet said and held unto Ryan as they walked out of the shop.
” I’m really gonna miss you..” he pouted his li-ps
” That won’t work on me.. see you tomorrow ” she said and turn to leave but he held her back, hugging her to himself
Yixuan alighted from her car after she sighted them
” Violet? Ryan?” She called, walking to them
” Yixuan? ” Violet called as she walked to them
” Hi ” she waved at Ryan and he just nodded
” Where are you coming from?” Violet asked
” Jeffrey’s home.. ”
” Really? Are you both a thing now? ”
” I wish ” Yixuan replied. “You and Ryan, what’s going on?” She asked
Violet looked at Ryan then back at Yixuan
” He’s my boyfriend now..” she whispered and yixuan’s eyes wide-ned in shock
” Your boy… Violet quickly covered her mouth
” Gosh, you’re loud… keep it to yourself, don’t tell anyone else you’re dead” she warned while yixuan nodded like a fóól. She stared at Ryan’s direction and their eyes met, she shuddered and quickly looked away
” I guess you won’t be coming over to my place for the group reading.. ”
” I’ll be doing it with Ryan.. I’m sorry ” Violet pouted
” It’s okay, I shouldn’t take you time when your boyfriend is waiting for you..” she smiled while Violet laughed
” Ryan..” yixuan called and Ryan faced their direction
” Take care of her okay? If she cries because of you then I’m gonna kill you.. do you get that?” She warned but he just kept mute
” Anyway, bye..” she waved and he waved back
” OMG!! He just waved at me!! Gosh, You’ve really changed that dude..” she faced Violet
” I should get going” she hug-ged Violet before entering her car
” Bye, see you during exams cause I might likely not come to school till the exam day”
” Alright, take care..” Violet waved at her as she watch her drive off
She turned to Ryan . “I’m sorry for keeping you waiting..” she apologized
” It’s fine, she’s your friend afterall ” he replied
” She’s right, You’ve really changed..” Violet smiled
” I didn’t, I was always like this ” he replied.
” See you tomorrow then.. bye.. she waved and walked into the shop cafe else, he wouldn’t let her leave
He chuckled at her attitude before entering his car

∆ XIAO’s MANSION
” Jeffrey…”Jenny called as soon as he got into the house
” what mom? Are you planning to kîll me?” He asked holding his chest
” You should have gotten use to it dummy..” she rolled her eyes and pulled him to a couch
” What is it? Cause it seems your gossip mood has been activated..” Jeffrey replied
” Don’t be silly..” Jenny hit his head before clearing her throat
” I know you think she’s not as pretty as Violet but she’s pretty and i think she likes you.. ” his mom said
” How would you know? You just met her today” Jeffrey scoffed
” It seems you don’t like her yet, then this conversation is over…” She stood up
” I wonder how I got you as a mom.. jeez, you’re not a kid anymore mom, you’re a mother to a twenty year old guy..” Jeffrey said walking to his room
” I’m still very young, so I should enjoy my youthful days..” she said from the sitting room and he laughed
” Mom and her dramas.. ” he laughed, falling on his bed.
He brou-ght out his phone and forwarded the address yixuan sent to him to violet before tossing his phone away

Ryan drove into the compound and met Remy’s car already packed in the parking lots
” He’s back..” he muttered alighting from his car and Brown walked over to him.
” Greetings young master..” Brown greeted
” Hmm ” he hummed a reply before walking into the house. The maids greeted him as he made his way to his room
” That di-ckhead is back?” Remy asked not leaving his bed
Ryan entered his bathroom and did his thing before heading out of it to his room again.
He changed into something simple before walking out of his room, he got outside and met Brown
” Should we go driving? I feel like taking some fresh air” he said.
” No young master..” Brown said
” Huh?” He raised a questioning brow at Brown
” I’m not feeling well young master.. ” Brown said
” Really?” He walked closer to Brown while he shifted back
” Just stay still ” Ryan scolded and Brown did as told. He touched his forehead and truly he was burning up
” When did it start? I mean the fever?”
” This morning sir..” Brown replied
” Get in the car..” he said but Brown didn’t budge
” You aren’t gonna listen to me anymore? I won’t repeat myself again Brown, now get your a-ss into the car and let’s go to the hospital” he said, seriously
” Why are you getting all worked up when I can just use drugs?” Brown grumbled and sluggishly got into the car while Ryan got the driver’s seat
Remy stood at his window staring down at them
” He has grown up, can’t believe he cares for others now.. ” he left the window when Ryan drove out of the compound

∆∆ GRANNY PAMELA’S HOME
” I’m home..” Violet announced, walking fully into the house only to find Jeffrey
” Going to the restaurant today? If yes, I don’t think I will be going there with you..” she said walking to him
” Silly you..” he flic-ked her nose and she winced
” Ouch.. what was that for?” She frowned
” Grandma!!…” She called, looking around the house
” My baby..” Granny Pamela replied walking into the house
” Where were you?” Violet asked
” I was at the garden..”
” You’ve been stressing yourself too much and I really don’t like it. You know you’re all I have left” she pouted and her grandmother smiled
” Good evening Grandma ” Jeffrey greeted
” How are you my little cutie ”
” I’m fine grandma”
” Alright, grandma will take a shower now..” Granny Pamela said and walked to her room.
” You wanted to say something earlier” Violet turned to Jeffrey
” Yixuan came over.. “Jeffrey said
“Yeah, I saw her earlier today, she told me about the reading stuff too..”
” So what did you tell her?” Jeffrey asked
” I told her I already promised Ryan I was gonna read with him and she understood”.. she replied
” But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go okay? Don’t make her sad..” she added
” Alright then, I’ll get going now..” Jeffrey smiled and hug-ged her briefly before leaving the house

” Make sure you use those drugs ” Ryan said as they alighted the car
They just got back from the hospital
” You shouldn’t have stress yourself young master, I knew drugs were gonna do the job but you wouldn’t listen even if I told you.. ” Brown said
” Get something to eat before using the drugs ” Ryan said and started walking into the house.
” He’s so nice..” Brown smiled before walking into his own apartment.
Remy was just descending the stairs when he sighted Ryan entering his room
” He’s grown now..” he muttered going to the direction of the dining room.

∆ 10pm~SAME DAY
Li Xue walked into the house and his wife got in minutes later
Xue didn’t say anything to his wife cos he was angry, he didn’t want to say things that will make her angry too but then he needed to save his business
Leyan just walked to the room without helping him with his briefcase
Remy and Ryan who already knew their parents were back didn’t bother to leave their rooms, especially Remy.
” Remy, Ryan..” Xue called
” What does the fóól wants now?” Remy grumble for a while before leaving his room
Ryan inhale de-eply before leaving his room too.. the brothers met at the stairs. They stare at each other for a while before proceeding to meet their dad downstairs
” You called us ” they said immediately they got to him
Xue’s eyes kept flic-king from Remy to Ryan. He exhaled, trying to calm his anger
” Who among you told Mara he was gonna poison her? ” He asked, looking between them While the boys just kept mute
” I’m talking to humans…” He yelled
” Me “.. Remy and Ryan said at once and they both stare at each other
” Wow…” Remy exclaimed. ” It seems you’ve finally grown up” he laughed but a slap landed on his left cheeks while Ryan’s eyes wide-ned
” Ouch.. that stings, you b@stard ” he muttered, expressionlessly. He stared at his dad and scoffed lowly
‘ What does this old man think he’s doing right now?” He sigh
” Are you okay?” Ryan faced him. He made to touch him but Remy shifted back
” I’m fine..” he said and faced his dad properly
” I said it, and I’ll really poison her if you don’t call off the engagement…I can’t let my brother marry that slût of a girl.. believe it or not, it’s a promise…” He let out a dry laugh
Xue made to slap him again but Ryan held his hands
” You shouldn’t hit him that way.. ” he said and Remy scoff.
” You’re spoiling the fun Ryan ” he laughed and Ryan let go of Xue’s hand
” I would have ask you to call me a b.astard if I don’t do it but unfortunately I’m already one..” Remy faced his dad.
This only increased Xue’s anger.. he knew he wasn’t able to tame Remy the way he did to Ryan. He knew Remy was capable of doing what he said but right now he needed to save his company at all cost
Leyan didn’t bother leaving her room.. she was tired of crying so she gave up.
” The engagement will take place whether you both like it or not..” Xue finally said and turned to leave
” What if I don’t agree with what you’ve just said?” Ryan asked and Xue stopped on his tracks
Remy just laughed from where he stood
” He has finally grown wings and I like it..” he smiled, watching the drama between Xue and his favorite son
” You wouldn’t dare disrespect me Ryan.. ” Xue said, walking to him
” I already did don’t you get?” Ryan asked and a slap landed on his face bursting his li-ps slightly.
” Oh, oh ” Remy exclaimed
” Why are you so obsessed with this engagement? Don’t tell me he threatened to make your business fall?” Ryan asked
” What am I even saying, I know you agreed to all this because of your greed. Sometimes I wonder if you’re even my dad . As far as I remain Ryan, I won’t allow you make this decision for me!! for Chris sake marriage is between two people who love and understand each other..” he shouted, tears leaving his eyes
” We are not gonna have this conversation again. You’ll do as I say” Xue said sternly
” I’ll only do as you say when am dead then you she could just marry my corps” he said and Xue landed him another slap, more painful than the previous
Ryan stood still and held his cheek as he watch his dad walk upstairs
” You did well..” Remy patted his shoulder before sitting on the couch.
Ryan didn’t utter a word, he walked into his room and began parking his things, he walked back to the sitting room with a bag in his hands
” Going somewhere?” Remy asked but he didn’t reply
” And where do you think you’re going?” Xue asked from the stairs
Leyan ran out of the room and a gasp escape her li-ps when she saw him holding onto his luggage
” Son..” she called, tears, leaving her eyes
” Please don’t leave.. ”
” Maybe when Xue’s brain starts functioning properly, I’ll come back but right now, I pray he goes bankrupt for real..” he said and with that, he left the house
