” You have no idea how happy you’ve made me right now, Violet ” he said and she smiled at him.
” Exams are approaching, don’t get distracted by me okay?” She said but he just chuckled before pulling her into another hug.
” What about your friends? Won’t they be waiting for you?” He asked still not breaking the hug.
” That’s right..” she exclaimed, disengaging from the hug.
She had totally forgotten about Jeffrey and yixuan
” I need to go now..” she said
” You will but not now ” he said taking her phone
” What are you doing?” She asked, staring at him as he manipulated her phone. It had no pa-ssword whatsoever so anyone could use her phone
He scrolled throu-ghher contact list, searching for Jeffrey’s number
? GO HOME WITHOUT ME. RYAN IS GONNA BRING ME HOME..
He sent and handed the phone back to her

Jeffrey read the message on his phone and exhaled de-eply
” Is everything okay? ” Yixuan asked
” Nothing.. let’s just get going..”
” What about Violet? ”
” She’s busy, see you tomorrow Yixuan” he said and walked out of clas-sleaving her behind

” What did you do? ” Violet asked, scrolling throu-ghher phone after she saw the message he just sent
” I asked them to go home so I can spend sometime with you ”
” When did you become a busybody? ” She asked but he just smiled at her
” I’ve always been like this but no one saw it, Only Remy can tell” he sat down on the couch while she stood still, staring at him
” I know I’m charming, don’t stare too much ” he said again and she scoffed
” Charming? ” She rolled her eyes and he smiled, pulling her closer and making her seat on his laps
” What are you doing?” she whisper-yelled and made to stand but he held her down
He wide-ned his legs so she could seat in between as he hug-ged her from behind
” I’m happy and sad at the same time Violet… Remy still hates me so much.. all I needed was someone who will comfort and believe in me..” he said in his usual calm voice
” I don’t know if I should keep blaming myself for my brother’s dead. He told not to be me..” he chuckled
” I know it wasn’t your fault. Moreover, he won’t be happy if you keep blaming yourself..”
” If I wasn’t stubborn back then, he would still be alive and probably be a successful business man right now ” he said as tears gathered in his eyes
” Are you okay?” Violet asked and made to face him but he wouldn’t allow it
” It’s comfortable this way..” he smiled, blinking back his tears
” You must be hungry.. do you have anything at home?” Violet asked
” I’ll go home soon, I don’t want you to stress yourself, we just got into a relationship..” He replied
” Wow, you’ve become a talkative… Can you please just return to the quiet Ryan? Can you switch?” She asked and stood up from his body
” Isn’t that why you love me? ” He teased
” Nah, I actually fell for your… She thought for a while
She laughed awkwardly when she remembered the first ki-ss with him
” My pretty face and cute smile right?” He asked
” You weren’t smiling back then but you still looked cute.. ” She replied and he chuckled.
He made her seat next to him and rested his head on her shoulder with his eyes closed
” When you’re ready to go home, let me know..” he said and she hummed a replied staring at his face.

” Did everyone go home?” Justin asked as they alighted from the car
” It’s closing hours, so it’s understandable ” Remy replied
” Well, See you guys tomorrow. I should head home now ” he said, entering his own car
” Bye ” his friends waved at him as they watch him drive off
” Should we go back now?” Justin asked
” Yeah, I even regret coming to school today..” Reece replied, entering the car

” Ryan..” Violet called but he didn’t reply
” Is he asleep? ” She wondered staring at his sleeping face
” How can he be so cute even while sleeping..” she smiled
” I know.. that’s why you fell for me.. ” Ryan replied, with his eyes still closed
” He’s awake?” She wondered and he sat upright
” You should be at the coffee shop now ” he said
“‘That’s true.. ” she replied and he stood up
” Let’s go ” he said, stretching his hands to her and she smiled before holding his. Together they left the hostel

” Claire is everything alright? ” Mara asked, after seeing her friend uneasy
” I’m fine..” she replied.
She couldn’t bring herself to tell Mara that she has been thinking of Remy after the incident at the bathroom.
‘ You must be Stüpid Claire, Remy isn’t the type of guy you should be thinking of..
‘ I know he’s cute but…
She gro-aned frustratingly before throwing her pillow away while Mara duck so it wouldn’t touch her
” Hey.. what was that for? ” Mara scolded
” I’m sorry Mara.. but I think I need to visit the psychiatric hospital.. I think I’m going cr@zy and if I’m not being treated on time, I might end up roaming the street of Hong Kong nak-ed ” she said and Mara shook her head
” Can you get things straight, so I can understand?” Mara asked
” How can someone who is already cr@zy say something straight?” Claire asked back and stood up
She picked it up the pillow she had thrown earlier and walked back to her bed
She sat on it staring at the pillow in her hands
” God.. ” she screamed, falling back on the bed and covering her face with the pillow
Mara didn’t bother to ask anything further.
” I’ll be spending the night at the mansion tonight.. ”
” Yeah.. you’re free..” Claire replied

” You can go on from here and thanks for the ride..” Violet said but Ryan ignored her and walked into the coffee shop
” What do you want beautiful guy? Violet isn’t here to… Mujin couldn’t complete his statement Violet entered too
” Hi Mujin.. ” she smiled at him
” Where’s Mrs Zhan?” She asked still smiling broadly
‘ Is that how she smiles at every guy?’ Ryan wondered, looking between them
” See who we have here..” Mrs Zhan appeared
” Are you not feeling well? Did something happen?” Violet asked concernedly, walking to meet her
” It’s nothing.. just a little headache but I’m alright now..” Mrs zhan smiled and turned to Ryan
” The rude guy!! “.. she smiled walking towards him.
He did a little bow to her which made her laugh
” Wow, you’re behaving like a gentle man but I kinda like the rude side of you..” Mrs Zhan said sitting opposite him
” I needed to fix my attitude..” Ryan replied
” Oh! Why?” Mrs Zhan raised a brow
” Because I want Violet to keep loving me” he replied and Violet’s eyes wide-ned
” Oh, my, so you two are…” Mrs Zhan didn’t complete her statement when Violet covered her mouth with her hands.
She quickly let go When she noticed her actions
” I’m sorry ma’am..” she apologized glaring ha-rd at Ryan
” Fine I understand.. my mouth are seal..” Mrs Zhan laughed
” I think you should be on your way now..” Violet said, pulling Ryan up
” Thank you..” Ryan bow to Mrs Zhan as Violet pulled him out of the shop
” What was that? ” She asked, as they got outside
” I had to make them understand you’re mine now so you won’t be smiling at another guy that way” he replied
” Wait.. don’t tell me your jealous?”
” Goodnight..” he pecked her li-ps before walking to his car.
She smiled as he drove off. She was happy he was acting strong and cool unlike the Ryan who always had a cold look on
She walked back into the shop and met Mrs Zhan smiling widely
” So when did you both start dating?” She asked
” Today..” Violet replied
” Oh really? I should give you some tips on how to make him fall head over heels for you?” Mrs Zhan asked excitingly
” No thanks ” she shook her head as she walked over to mujin
” C’mon Violet ” Mrs Zhan stood up and went after her

” I’m home ” Remy announced as he looked around the house. The house was exceptional quiet and he felt something wasn’t right
” Mom?..” he called
Leyan stood up from the bed, walking to the sitting room
” Remy..” she called trying to hide her sad expression
” Did something happen?” Remy asked
” What of your brother?” She asked
” I’m not his keeper.. can you just answer me?”
” And what are you doing at home? Why aren’t you at the company?” He asked, sitting at the dining.
Lunch was served already.
” It’s your dad Remy.. he’s doing things without thinking this days..” Leyan replied sitting next to him
She held his hands and stare at him
” Can you please stop hating your brother? He really went throu-gha lot in your absence. He wouldn’t talk or eat no matter how many times I scolded him. You know how stubborn he is, He’ll always locked himself up in his room all day ….
” Mom..
” Please Remy, I’m begging you to forgive your brother. He really didn’t kill Lishu. What happened that day was meant to happen, so please Remy… I could go on my knees, please just forgive him” Leyan said and Remy stood up immediately
He stared at his mom whose eyes were teary. He turned to leave but stopped when he heard what she said next
” You’re dad is trying to engage your brother with the minister’s daughter, Mara ” Leyan said letting her tears fall
” I can’t believe I can’t even do anything about..” she cried
” What?!!! Was he perhaps drunk?” Remy asked, unbelievably
” I’m never gonna allow it, never!!” He gritted out and walked into his room while Leyan sigh cleaning her eyes
She sat on the couch holding a pillow to herself as she stared into space. She wouldn’t eat anything since morning

∆∆ ZHANG’S MANSION
Mara walked elegantly into the mansion smiling widely
” Greetings dad and you too mom..” she smiled walking to meet them at the dining
” Welcome young miss ” the maids greeted while she stared at them like they were some Kind of trash before walking to meet her parents
” What brou-ght you here? ” Her dad asked
” Dad, what sort of question is that? Of course I came to see my parents and not the minister..” she rolled her eyes dishing out her own food
” Sorry princess. So how was school today? heard your exams are fast approaching. How are you coping?” Her dad asked
” Let’s not go there dad.. you know school isn’t my thing. I still wonder how I pa-ssed high school..” she replied and her mom laughed
” Dad..” she called
” Yes princess, Is something bothering you?” Zhang shao asked
” Not really, I just want to thank you for creating a time out of your precious busy schedule just to Grant my heart desires..” she smiled
” You should be thankful they accepted if not, there’s nothing I could have done about it..” Zhang shao said while Mara laughed
” Thanks Dad, I love you.. ” she smiled

” Young master.. Brown called, as soon as Ryan alighted the car
” Where have you been? I’ve missed you..” he added
” Don’t miss me please only her has the right to do that.. Ryan replied while Brown gave him a long stare, Wondering who he was referring to.
” Who are those inside?”
” The lady and young master Remy “.. Brown replied while Ryan nodded, walking into the house
He walked straight to his room, ignoring the maid’s greetings
He had his bath and change into something lighter before sitting infront of his laptop
His mind drifted to the time he spent with Violet and a smile escaped his li-ps just by the mere thought of her
” Violet.. he called her name, giggling softly

NIGHT, SAME DAY
Li Xue walked into the house and met Leyan sitting on the couch in the sitting room. She didn’t even bother to look at him or help him with his things
” When will you stop behaving like a child ” Xue asked and at that time Remy left his room. He was thirsty and needed water… He just stood watching his parents from his door
” I’m behaving like a child?” Leyan asked while Xue just kept mute
” Why won’t I? I’ll keep behaving this way Untill you call off the stûpîd engagement ” she snapped loudly
” Engagement? Is Remy getting married?” Ryan wondered, leaving his room too
His mom sounded hurt and her voice sounded like she has been crying.
” It’s best if they just get married..” Xue said
” I can’t allow my Ryan marry that Mara..” Leyan said sternly
” Wait.. mom, what are you both talking about?” Ryan appeared
” That you are going to get engaged with Mara Zhang..” Xue replied
” What?!! Are you… ”
” You heard me ” Xue cut in sternly and made to leave
” I’m never gon..
” It’s not gonna happen!! ” Remy interrupted
” Not in this house dad.. I won’t allow my brother marry someone as Mara… not in my watch” .. he added and Ryan stared at him unbelievably
Brother? Did Remy just acknowledge him?
” There’s nothing you boys can do about it and that’s final.. Xue yelled before walking out on them
