Episode 38
Stephanie’s POV
Thank goodness the contest is going to start on Monday, today is Friday already.
I can’t wait to be finally free from this stress of practicing everyday. Finally I’m going to become a K-Pop idol.
I was able to bribe one of the male judges even though it was kinda ha-rd but at least I succeeded.
The only problem I’m having now is that he said he can’t make me the first but at least I’m going to be among the top 20.
I still need to work ha-rd so that I can at least be among the top 10. I wonder why things are really different in Korea.
If it were to be in other countries, the judges will accept the bribe and make me the first without objecting.
As long as I’m able to pay them a really good amount, they will oblige instantly.
I hate Korea just because of this one thing.
Nelson’s POV
The contest is going to begin on Monday and today is Friday already meaning Olivia has to go to Korea tomorrow.
How am I going to tell her now? I just hope she doesn’t get mad at me.
After school hour, I went to Olivia’s house as usual. This past few days, I made sure Olivia practice her dance steps often.
“Welcome” Olivia greeted as soon as she opened the door for me.
“How are you doing?” I said entering the house
“Fine and you?”
“I’m fine too” I answered and she started walking to the kitchen probably to get me something to drink as usual but I stopped her.
“There will be no need for that Olivia. I actually came to tell you something but first promise me you won’t get mad at me” I said giving her my best puppy face
“Fine, I won’t. At least I know you won’t do anything to hurt me on purpose.” she said sitting beside me
“Errm….. I registered your name for the contest that is going to take place in Korea on Monday” I said and stared at her but she didn’t say anything so I decided to continue
“You will have to go to Korea tomorrow so that you can take part in the contest. I know you asked me not to fill the form for you but I just felt like doing it. I’m sorry I didn’t inform you”
“What are you talking about?” she asked confused
“Olivia you know what I’m talking about, please”
“But I told you not to register for me. Does that mean you don’t respect my decisions”
“No Olivia please don’t say that. I respect your decision but I just want you to contest this year so that you can become a K-Pop idol at a young age.
If you don’t want to contest, I won’t for-ce you to show that I respect your decision”
“What about the money you’ve paid already? Is it refundable? ” she asked sadly
“Forget about that. I just came over to tell you that, I will be on my way now” I said and turned to leave but she hug-ged me from behind.
“Thank you Nelson. I really don’t know how I’m ever going to repay your kindness. I will go for the contest tomorrow but I don’t have money for the ticket.
Can you lend me the money? I promise to return it before you know it.” she said pleadingly while I turned facing her
“You’re making me feel bad sincerely. You’re my girlfriend and your responsibility is also mine, any problem you have is mine too.
I’m going to take care of all the expenses so don’t worry about a thing and just focus on practicing, okay?” I said to her and she busted into tears. I’m sure it’s tears of joy so I pulled her into a hug.
“Cry baby. Do you have to cry all the time?”
“Ne…lson I…. I” she was saying but the tears didn’t let her speak
“Calm down Olivia” I said ru-bbing her back. After some minutes, she finally calmed down.
“Thank you. I know I will never be able to repay your kindness but I promise to show you the love you deserve and never betray your trust in me”
“Alright, that’s more than enough for me. I have to go now so I can make preparations for your journey”
“Okay then, I love you”
“I love you too. Bye”
*Somewhere in South Korea*
Park Min Shin’s POV
The competition will be coming up in three days time. The tutor I hired for Stephanie said she still needs to practice a lot.
My male children are really brilliant and I’ve always thought the only female child I have would take after them but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Instead of Stephanie to practice ha-rd she’s always whiling away time on her phone.
If she’s thinking she will be given prefrential treatment just because she’s the President’s daughter, then she’s totally wrong.
Korea is way different from other countries and ever since my husband became the President, he made sure the level of discipline is increa-sed and bribery and corruption has reduced to the lowest level.
I just hope Stephanie doesn’t embarra-ss us but make us proud.
Olivia’s POV
A guy like Nelson is rare to find and I’m going to do everything in my power to keep him.
Now I have to inform my parents about my journey tomorrow, I just hope they permit me to go.
*At night*
“Mom Dad, I want to tell you something”
“Sister Olivia sounds really serious today, I think whatever she wants to say is really important” my younger brother said
I guess they know me too well.
“So what is it you want to say?” Dad asked
“I will be going to Korea tomorrow for the upcoming contest. Nelson registered my name among the contestants.
He just told me this afternoon so I have to go to Korea tomorrow” I said looking at their faces.
“W-What?” Mom stuttered
“Why does it have to be impromptu?” Dad asked
“Nelson just wanted to surprise me. Please Mom, Dad let me go” I said pleadingly
“Fine, you can go but on one condition.” Dad said
“What condition?” I asked
“You won’t leave the house where you’re going to stay. You will stay indoor and only go outside when you have something important to do. Deal or no deal” Dad said
“Deal” I answered happily
“Ho–ney” Mom stuttered
Huh! Why is she stuttering? She definitely knows my biggest dream has always been becoming a K-Pop idol so why doesn’t she want me to go to Korea.
I shrugged the thoughts off. What matters most is that I will be going to Korea tomorrow. Let me pack my bags and some other things I will be needing there.
I got to my room and started packing the things I will be needing when my phone suddenly started ringing.
I checked the caller and discovered it was Nelson.
“Hello babe” Nelson said
“Good evening” I replied
“Olivia try to be romantic sometimes, please”
“I’m sorry. I will change”
“It’s okay. So are you preparing for tomorrow?”
“Yes. I was packing the things I will be needing when your call came in”
“Okay. Make sure you don’t forget anything”
“Alright. But…. I’m really going to miss you” I said pouting my li-ps like he could see me
“You won’t be missing me because we will be going together”
“Are you playing a prank on me now?”
“Of course not. I can’t possibly leave you to go on your own. What if something happens again?
You know you’re the only treasure I have and I can’t afford to loose you so I will go with you”
“Thanks Nelson, you’re the best”
“Awwn… Let me leave you to finish whatever you’re doing. I love you. Bye”

*Saturday morning*
Nelson’s POV
I went to Olivia’s house to pick her up so we can go to the airport together. I have a little surprise for her there.
“Nelson where is the plane” Olivia asked when we finally arrived at the airport
“That’s it” I said pointing to my private jet
“Where?” she asked confused
“It’s right in front of you”
“You mean we’re going to be using this jet?”
“Yes”
“Who does it belongs to?” she asked
“It’s belongs to me of course”
“Wow! You never cease to amaze me. I never knew my boyfriend was this rich but it looks new. Did you just bought it?”
“No but this is the first time I will be using it. I decided I was only going to use it after I find the person I want to spend the rest of my life it.
I could have used it with Stephanie but something asked me to wait and not to long after, she told me she never loved me.
I know you’re the right person for me so it’s only right if you’re the first person to get on the jet with me.”
“Nel..son” Olivia stuttered
“What? You don’t want to spend the rest of your life with me?”
“No that’s not it. You’re treating me like a queen and I haven’t even done anything for you”
“You don’t have to spend all the money you have in this world on me to make me happy. I have your heart and that’s more than enough for me” I said and she pulled me into a hug immediately.
“Thank you, Nelson.”
“It’s like that has become your favorite word. Don’t you get tired of saying that?”
“I can never get tired of saying it”
“Okay if you say so”
We both entered the jet and off we went to Korea.
*After hours of flying*
“Olivia, we’re here” I said tapping her lightly because she already fell asleep. I guess she’s tired from yesterday’s practice
“Sorry I slept off” she said ru-bbing her eyes with the back of her palm
“It’s okay, I un-derstand. You just need to get over the contest and then you will be able to have enough rest”
My guards packed our bags as we went towards the car and drove to the place Olivia and other contestants are to stay during the one week they will be spending here.
Olivia kept her bag in the room she was directed to as hers while I went to the hotel I already booked online after we both agreed to meet outside the hotel.
*Few minutes later*
I went outside and met Olivia waiting already.
“Sorry I kept you waiting”
“You don’t have to apologise”
“So let’s go on a little tour before nightfall” I said to Olivia but I noticed she battled with her thoughts for a while before agreeing.
She said she has always wished to come to Korea so why is she reluctant to go on a tour when she’s supposed to be overjoyed?
Olivia’s POV
Nelson said we should go on a tour but I remember Dad made me promise him I won’t leave the place I’m to lodge.
After much thinking, I finally decided to go with Nelson. He’s my boyfriend and I trust him, there’s no way he would ever do anything to hurt me.
Dad probably just said that because he didn’t want something bad to happen to me. I’m glad I have the best parents in the world.
“Yes let’s go” I said to Nelson
“Why did it take you so long to answer?” Nelson asked suspiciously making me roll my eyes
“Stop staring at me like that. Dad made me promise him I won’t leave the venue. He didn’t know you were coming with me so he was probably just looking out for me. Can we go now?”
“Okay. ”
We started walking with Nelson’s guards behind us. Nelson showed me a lot of things and I must say Korea is really big and beautiful.
We were still touring when a car from nowhere almost hit me. I totally forgot I’m not in America.
I just got here today so I’m not familiar with the road. Hope I haven’t gotten myself or Nelson into any sort of trouble?
“Are you okay young lady?” The woman that drove the car asked when she got to where I was.
Huh? Isn’t she like supposed to get mad at me since I’m the one at fault?
Wait! I’ve seen this face somewhere. Ahh! Stephanie’s biological Mom! The wife of the President of Korea!
I quickly bowed my head in respect, she can have me thrown out of the country with just a snap of her fingers and Nelson’s effort is going to be a waste.
“You don’t have to do that. Are you okay?” she asked touching me but almost immediately, she took her hands off me.
Could it be possible she felt what I also felt? When she tou-ched me, I felt some kind of connection and the hand was warm and comforting like that’s where I belong but what can this mean?
I’m meeting her for the first time but it seems as if I’ve known her for a very long time.
People around saw her face and they were already beginning to come close.
“I have to go now but what is your name?” she asked quickly
“Olivia ma’am”
“Alright Olivia, we will talk better some other time” she said and left
So there’s still going to be another time that we will meet?
Park Min Shin’s POV
I was rushing out for an important meeting so I just went without my guards since it won’t take time but on the way, I almost hit a girl.
I quickly got down from my car to confirm if she was alright but the moment I tou-ched her, I felt some kind of connection.
The emptiness in me became filled up instantly. I felt the warmth I didn’t feel with Stephanie.
Who is that girl and what connection do I have with her that made me felt that way?
Thinking about it now, I realize there’s a way I can confirm if Stephanie is really my daughter or not.
Min Jin had a birth mark on her left shoulders so I just have to find a way I can check Stephanie’s shoulders.
The most important thing right now is to find out more about that girl and set up a meeting with her.
I must find out the connection I have with her.
