MERCY’S POV CONTINUES
“the person you know”? who could baba be talking about? then it suddenly occurred to me that I actually met JJ throu-ghsonia…. truth is I have been following him on all social media, but Sonia was the reason why I met him up close…. but she told me to take my mind off JJ that he wasn’t my cla-ss…. and Sonia isn’t the type that goes for rich men….she always knows when to hit the last point.

I woke up feeling very happy, and a little bit stronger than the previous day…. and my heart that was cold? it has become very warm, so warm that I was in the spirit to share it with sonia.
I prepared breakfast for her, she was very shocked after I brou-ght her to the living room, she couldn’t believe her eyes and trust Sonia she scolded me for stressing myself.
SONIA
why did you go throu-ghall this stress cooking all this food? and for who? are we having visitors or what?
JOSHUA
yeah, we ain’t expecting any visitors, but I felt I should appreciate you for all the stress I put you throu-ghlast night.
SONIA
you shouldn’t have bordered, if I don’t take care of you…. then why I’m I here?
Her last statement got me confuse, did she take care of me because I’m her boss and because I’m paying her she feels its her duty to look after me? or she did it because we are good friends?
JOSHUA
(I frowned my face)

SONIA
don’t be silly, you know that is not the only reason why I took care of you
JOSHUA
(I pulled my chair closer to hers)

I asked and she hit me playfully on my shoulder and started to eat from the food in front of her.
The rest of our morning was uneventful, we decided to go out around 1pm, she refused though but I kept begging and begging until she finally accepted.
we didn’t go to anywhere in particular, we just drove around town for hours and came back home before night fall.
SONIA
I never know this city is as big as this ooh, and everywhere is just fine.
JOSHUA
yeah, because you are always in doors.
SONIA

She stuttered for a while before she started to laugh.
SONIA

she joined me and laughed too, soon the atmosphere became so awkward, I felt my heart beating fast just like yesterday… she kis-sed my cheeks quickly and got up
SONIA
I’m going upstairs to freshen up…. see you
I wanted to say something but I couldn’t say anything, my heart was still beating fast… her kis-s always does something to me…. it always does.
I could feel my face burning out of blus-h, I laid back on the couch smiling like a lost goat…

I said happily like she’s there to answer my questions.
Suddenly I remembered she said she was going upstairs to shower, I jumped up from the couch and ran upstairs too…. I need to take my shower too

I said in pidgin language and ran upstairs happily.

MERCY’S POV
the next day I woke up very early in the morning, the level I was happy and the way I didn’t allow the smile to leave my face…. you would think I won a Lotto.
As I was busy packing my stuffs to go to JJ’s house to achieve my aim, I heard a sound of a car driving into our compound…. I ran to my window to see who it was, my smile immediately turned to frown when I saw it was biggie.
“What has he come here to do this early, why can’t he still in his house…. let nobody come and spoil my show or plans ooh”
I angrily dropped the clothes I have in my hand and went outside to see him…. because of his size he couldn’t come out from the car till I got there
MERCY
good morning chief, this one I saw you this early….hope no problem?
(I said still frowning my face)
BIGGIE
han han baby, are you not happy to see me? I came here because I wanted to give you good bews.
MERCY
what good news that you couldn’t tell me on the phone? huh?
BIGGIE
it’s not something we could discuss on the phone…. see your traveling papers was brou-ght to me just yesterday…. you can now fly to any country of your choice.
He said excitedly, I started to smile immediately, you guys have no idea how much I have tried to make my docu-ments myself…. after school, almost all my course mate then traveled to Dubai for show off… I was the only one left behind

“I would have loved it if you were here with us, but wait ooh, I thought you are serving I a good company, how come you haven’t been able to travel”!
Chai it was an insult to me, so biggie promised to help me get my Visa … it hasn’t been a two months he started the process and here it is already.

I said and robbed my hand on his hairy face, and ran inside…. mum was by the window seeing everything that was happening.

left to me I would have said you should stay with this man….. with baba’s help he can even send his wife away and make you the successor of all his Fortunes….look we haven’t spell him yet and his already this crazy for you…..imgaine we do something to him
MERCY
money isn’t everything mum, sometimes feelings matter too…. I love JJ and that is why I’m going for him…. his rich yeah, but I like him even more because his very handsome.
MUM
you win…..i won’t border yo about this issue ever again… so what are your plans?
MERCY
are you still asking? I’m going to go freshen up, finish packing up and go to JJ’s house to complete my mission.
mum smiled and walked away, I rushed into my room and took my bathe……the D-Day has come and no one would stop me from getting what I want.
SONIA’S POV
JJ had another hotness of the body during the night that made me to stay awake all night… it would be unfair if I woke him up early to start preparing for work….. they said health is wealth….how can a sick man even get dress for work?
But I kept having this serious feeling that he should leave the house…. why did I want him out of the house so badly was what I couldn’t un-derstand.
All throu-ghthe time I was preparing breakfast for him in the kitchen, I kept having this usual gut feeling and I couldn’t help it.
after I finished cooking, I took the food to his room.
JOSHUA
good morning Bibi
SONIA
(I was surprised)

JOSHUA

SONIA
I heard that one, I mean the last one
JOSHUA

I got to JJ’s big ma-ssive gate, I remembered that day I left so early in the morning that I didn’t want them to see me leave…. I remembered how that stupid jack talk down at me like I was a nobody… I can never forgive him for that… and I promise, once this charm start working on JJ, he would be the first person I will deal with.
before I could even knock at the gate, Bobo or what is he called opened the small side of the gate to talk to me
BOBO
what can I do for you? wh are you standing in front of someone’s gate for close to five minutes…..are you spy? or what are you exactly?
MERCY
as you can see, a spy will not come to someone’s house with this amount of load… I’m here to see JJ…his expecting me…and it’s obvious you don’t even recognize my face again.
BOBO
you sound like I’m supposed to recognize you… who are you?
MERCY
my name is mercy, I was here before eih my friend sonia….. we came together the day….
BOBO
oh it’s you…..its been a while…. where have you been?
I was in no mood to be friendly, all I wanted was to be in JJ’s arms… that is all I want at that moment..
BOBO
but why is it JJ that is expecting you? are you not here to see Sonia?
MERCY
I’m here to see JJ, go inside and tell him his fiancee is waiting outside for him.
The shock on the guy’s face was so big that it made me even laugh…. why is it too ha-rd for him to believe that I might actually be his boss woman?
