i didn’t know she has never played the game before… but I was sure of what she was going to ask me….that was why I decided we play a game instead.
she was so excited about it that she said I should go first.
SONIA
you play first and does it have rules?
JOSHUA

SONIA
you bet, I’m so excited…… let’s play it already
JOSHUA
the game is called truth or dare…. and the rules of the game is….you must be honest and say nothing but the truth….. not just that, you must do whatever the game says
SONIA
I get it….so shall we start?
JOSHUA
when did you find out you have feelings for jack?
SONIA
I would rather you said “had” because the feelings are gone….. I don’t even know when I started crushing on him…. maybe the I first came here?
JOSHUA
it’s been a long time then….and I’m glad the feelings are gone… so, now is your turn
SONIA
why did you decide to become a ga-y?
JOSHUA

just like you, I don’t know….i met Tommy when I was in ss1 and I found out my heart couldn’t stop beating in a funny way…. I immediately started crushing on him…. I did everything in my power so he could talk to me but the guy snubbed me ooh .

Because you reminded me so much of my mum, she hated my ways but she never hated her son…. everyday mum was in church praying for me to change…. the day my mum died… guess where she was coming from? church….she did an all night at the church and was returning home the next morning…. she didn’t get to the house….she died on the way.
SONIA
was it an accident? or what?
JOSHUA
no, according to the doctor mum had heart disease but she begged to keep the information from me…. knowing that she was sick that woman didn’t border about her health, she kept fasting and fasting, praying and praying until she finally met her end…. it broke my heart, it hurt me even more that I couldn’t be a better man for her….and I wasn’t even rich then….. a year after mum I got a big contract…a contact that changed my life forever….
SONIA
I can imagine what you had to go throu-ghafter you got that sudden wealth.
JOSHUA

She got up and went into my bathroom, I guess to ease herself, she came back few minutes later and laid beside me… she carried my head and place on her che-st.
SONIA

She lowered her li-ps and kis-sed my forehead, she used her hand to wipe my forehead like there was a li-pstick there or something.
SONIA

The kis-s made my heart to start beating fast again…. I smiled and held my che-st like it was going to fall off.
SONIA
close your eyes and sleep

I turn off the lights because it was closer to where I laid.
SONIA’S POV
The next morning I woke up very late, maybe because I was exhausted from last night stress….I looked around but couldn’t find Joshua… where could he have gone to?
As I was about to come downstairs from the bed he walked into the room.
JOSHUA
Good morning beautiful
SONIA
good morning, where did you go? I woke up and didn’t find you beside me
JOSHUA
come downstairs, I have something to show you.
SONIA
something? and what could that be?
JOSHUA
just follow me.
he pulled my hand and started to go downstairs…. he took me to the dinning room and helped me to sat down… I was confused, I didn’t know if I should cry or laugh at what was in front of me…. he had prepared a feast for me in the name of breakfast…. someone who was sick yesterday.

MERCY’S POV
I remembered when I told my mum about JJ, she said she will help me get him but I should go finish with my studies…. a school I heard his scandal about being a ga-y….i wanted to come back so badly to stay with him and help him come out from all that social media stress…. but mum won’t let me…. she said it wasn’t time yet.
I had to for-ce myself to study, I studies so ha-rd so I can be the woman JJ needs and wants.
I came back from my youth service and immediately got a job…. yeah, I’m a very pretty lady and no man that sees me that wouldn’t want to keep me.
After my service my boss didn’t want me to leave so he turn me to a permanent staff in his company…. his paying me for working and his paying me extra for being se-xy…. if you know what I mean.
Mr biggiee has money but I don’t like him, his very short and very ugly…. when he speaks saliva would be fallig off his mouth….. he wants to make me his second wife….but God forbid….I am just after the money….so I can’t marry him.
It was weekend and I didn’t go go work, I laid in bed thinking of how JJ and I would live the rest of our lives with our children running around.
A slight knock came at my door, and I asked the person to come inside.
MERCY
mum, don’t tell me that big belly man is here to see me…. just go and tell him I’m not around.
MUM
(She laughed)
is that how much you hate that man?
MERCY
haaa, with everything in me mum…. have you seen him when he talks?
MUM
common, his not as bad as you make it sound… he has a big belly, a long head, aside that his very cute.
MERCY
just tell me his not outside right now
MUM
no one is here to see you, I came to inform you that there’s a place I will like us to go tomorrow.
MERCY
hope is not where it involves me spending money? because mummy you and daddy will finish my money ooh.
MUM
like we complained when you were busy finishing ours in the name of school? my friend be careful
she got up and walked to the door, turn and looked at me
MUM
make sure you ain’t on your period.
MERCY
I’m not on my period mum, and I already saw my period for the month.

She said and left the room…. I immediately became scared, where is mum taking me to that requires me not being on my period… well, I will wait and see.
The next morning I woke up not remembering mum and I had to go somewhere… she came to my room only to meet me still in bed

MERCY
today is Sunday mum, I’m not going to work
MUM
didn’t I te you that we will be going out today?
MERCY
oh my God, I’m so sorry mum I totally forgot….
MUM
Now that you remember, go and take your bathe and meet me outside.
MERCY
okay mum
I quickly rushed to my bathroom to take my bathe….few minutes later I was throu-ghbathing…. I went straight to my wardrobe to look for what to wear… mum came in and told me to wear trouser and I shouldn’t wear heels because my legs were going to hurt if I did…. I obeyed her and dressed the way she wanted.
few minutes later we were out of the house in my car… yeah, you heard me right, my car… Mr biggie bought a car for me just six work of working as a youth corp in his company…. he said he didn’t like me stressing myself and spoiling my color.
Who would refuse a gift like that? I accepted the car gift even though I know I can never and will never marry him.
THREE HOURS LATER.
MERCY
I wonder where we are going to that we had to drive for three hours mum
MUM
we are already at the place.
MERCY
I just hope something good comes out of this shady place.
Mum didn’t answer me, I drove for a few more minutes and she asked me to park the car…
We parked the car and walked for almost an hour before we reached our final destination.
The place was a very big and large bush, I’m very sure no human being would be living in a place like yhis…. or so I thought.
We saw a little hunt that was covered with white and red pieces of clothing
MERCY
mum, where is this that you have brou-ght me.
MUM
shut up and follow me… hope you are not on your period?
MERCY
mum I told you yesterday, I have already seen this month period….
MUM
good…. take off your shoes and follow me inside.
Mum took off her shoes and entered the small hunt, I took off my boots took and entered…. the place looked so creepy that I almost peep on my p@n-ties…. immediately we entered mum walked to a status and kis-sed it’s feet, she dragged me to do the same and I did…
I wondered who we have come to see because no one was in sight
As if the man could read my thoughts, immediately a scary laughter came but we did hit see anyone… I got scared and ran to hide behind my mom.
Suddenly an elder man appeared before us, he went to that same status mum and I kis-sed and worship it before he took his seat and asked us to seat down too.

who is that woman that want to come and reap where she did not sow? I’m not going to seat back and allow her do this to me….who is the woman?
(I demanded angrily)
baba looked at me and smiled, he turn to face his gods and did another incantation before he turn to me and said.
