EPISODE 51
JOSHUA’S POV
After Sonia left my room to hers, I couldn’t stop thinking about her…. not many people would come out clean to say what they did in the dark…. for her to come out open to tell me she was paid to make me love her, made me respected her even more…. for she to even tell me that jack was the one she was crushing on, made me realize that I wasn’t wrong when I decided to chose her as the woman I will allow myself to fall in love with.
I laid on my bed thinking until sleep finally took over me…. I didn’t know I had slept for that long, until Sonia came to wake me up to go eat lunch.
I felt really cold, I wasn’t sure if I was coming down with fever because my body wasn’t hot, it was just cold… my heart was even more cold…. and I felt very lighted… immediately she entered my room and woke me up, I pulled her into my bed and covered us both with my duvet.
I know she said she needed time to think about all this and it hasn’t been twenty hours yet… I know but I was cold and wasn’t thinking straight.
We laid together on the bed, still cuddling for a long time before she finally jumped down from the hed.
SONIA
for days now you haven’t been eating well, I’m afraid if you continue like this you might end up having ulcer…. I’m going to get your food right now.
JOSHUA
but I’m not hungry…..I just want …
SONIA
I don’t want to hear it…. if you don’t eat, then no more cuddling.
JOSHUA
okay fine, I will eat…. go and bring the food here.
She nodded her head and left…. few minutes later she came back with my food in a tray , she even made my favorite juice too….. I took the duvet off my body and sat down on the bed.
She dropped the food in front of me, I stare at the food but there was no appetite to eat it.
SONIA
why are you staring at the food like that ? I brou-ght this food so you will eat not stare at it
JOSHUA
can I just drink the juice please? I don’t have appetite for food.
SONIA
how does your tongue taste?
I brou-ght it out for her to see, she hit me slightly on my shoulder and I moa-ned in pain and she immediately started apologizing.
SONIA
sorry, sorry…. didn’t mean to hit you that hard.
JOSHUA
you didn’t hit me hard, I’m just kidding…. I feel sick sonia…. do you think I’m coming down with fever?
SONIA
I think so too, when was the last time you treated malaria?
JOSHUA
I can’t even remember… maybe I should go see a doctor tomorrow
SONIA
why tomorrow? the day is still long, we can go now
JOSHUA
no, it’s late already….first thing tomorrow we will go to the hospital.
SONIA
you promise?
JOSHUA
I cross my heart.
She carried the tray of food from the bed, sat very well on the bed and placed the tray on her lap-s….she picked the spoon, fetch a full spoon of rice and brou-ght it closer to my mouth
SONIA
here, open your mouth and eat it.
I stare at the food for a while before I opened my mouth…. I took a few spoon and told her I was full…. she pleaded I eat more but I couldn’t….any more food I could end up throwing up the few I already manage to swallow.
JOSHUA
now that I have eaten, can you come back to the bed?
SONIA
which come back to the bed? you that didn’t eat anything.
JOSHUA
that is not fair…. you didn’t say I must finish the food…..and you know I did try my best
SONIA
I’m not happy that you haven’t been eating well, what if you end up with ulcer? what I’m I going to do then?
JOSHUA
have you fallen in love with me?
(I teased her)
She choked on her saliva and immediately started to cough, I couldn’t help but chuckled.
SONIA
stop that… why will you even ask me something like that so suddenly?
JOSHUA
I’m sorry, I’m just happy that you care so much about my health.
SONIA
of course i should care about your health , don’t you know if anything happen to you…all your other staffs will k*ll me?
JOSHUA
they ain’t going to do you nothing.
SONIA
easy for you to say now….wait until something happens to their god on earth, then you will know that boys are not smiling…..but I won’t even let it get to that point.
JOSHUA
(I smiled)
Sonia…. come and cuddle me please…. I’m still cold….. please!!!!!!
She hesitated before she came to the bed to lay down, she laid on the bed and carried my head to put on her che-st…. her body felt so warm that I felt like entering her body.
I don’t even know how long we stayed like that, all I know is that she woke me up later that day and it was already night….. my cold body had turn very hot, so hot that I was scared it would burn my bedsheets.
SONIA
I told you that we should go to the hospital, but you refuse…. now see how your body is hot… what are we going to do now? it’s already 10pm
JOSHUA
10pm? I didn’t know we slept that long.
SONIA
I left immediately I found out you were sleeping…. i just came in to check up on you before going to bed…. only to find you like this.
JOSHUA
you cheated me, why did you leave when I fell asleep? we were supposed to sleep together
(I said making a babyish face)
SONIA
you can’t be serious right now, cuddling is what is your problem right now? you are smoking hot JJ.
(she sounded like someone who was going to cry)
JOSHUA
I have headache, and my heart is still cold…. what do you think could be the cause of that?
SONIA
I don’t know…. as for this hotness I’m going to run you a cold bathe right now…. you will shower so your temperature can calm down.
before I could say jack, she already went into my bathroom…..few minutes later she came out and asked me to go take my shower.
I felt weak, very weak that I couldn’t move my legs or stand up on my foot….
SONIA
What are you waiting for? get up and go take your bathe
I couldn’t tell her that my whole body was feeling paralyzed….what If that scares the living hell out of her?
JOSHUA
just give me a minute, I will be up soon.
I laid on the bed until the minutes I asked for pa-ssed, she begged me to stand up and I had to beg for another minutes.
SONIA
you keep asking me for a minute, just stand up and go take your……
that was when realization hit her and she realized I might be finding it difficult to move my legs.
SONIA
you can’t move your legs…..can you?
How is she that smart? how did she find out so quickly what is happening to me?

EPISODE 52
SONIA’S POV
i remembered when my late down came down with a serious fever, for days he couldn’t walk…. mum and I were so scared that we thought he would never walk with that leg ever again.
It was after some days dad’s younger brother came from the neighboring village to bring him some herbs…. after some days he got better and started to walk again … seeing how JJ kept asking for more time, my mind immediately travelled back to whendad was sick.
I asked him if he couldn’t move his feet and he said yes.
SONIA
I need to call Bella, she’s a doctor…. I’m sure she will know what to do.
JOSHUA
it’s late already…. and what If she’s on night duty?
SONIA
do I look like I care? I’m calling her now
I ran to my room and picked my phone, I called her twice before she finally answered.
BELLA
I’m about entering the emergency ward now…. there has been an accident victim, I will call you later.
She said and hung up before I even had the chance to say anything.
I was confused, if Bella is busy and JJ has refuse to go to the hospital….what I’m I supposed to do?
then I thought of Bruno, his in the house and his the only person that can help me right now…. I immediately ran out to meet him.
BRUNO
what happened? are you okay?
SONIA
can you please go get drugs for JJ?
BRUNO
what is wrong with JJ?
SONIA
his down with a very serious fever…. please tell the doctor he feels cold in his heart but his body is as hot as fire itself and he can’t seem to move his legs.
BRUNO
we should be taking him to the hospital not buying drugs Sonia.
SONIA
you know your boss, his very stubborn….he won’t go unless tomorrow…. please go now.
He entered one of JJ’s car and drove away, I still don’t un-derstand why he was with JJ’s car keys.
I went back inside to meet JJ, but before then I told Bobo to tell him to bring the drugs upstairs when he gets back.
I climbed on Joshua’s bed and helped him to seat up…. his body was still very hot.
SONIA
lift up your hands let me take off your clothes.
JOSHUA
I’m a sick man sonia… don’t se-duce me like this.
(he teased me)
How can a sick man still have mouth to joke? I couldn’t help but hit him slightly on the back.
SONIA
I’m only helping you to the bathroom, don’t have any Nau-ghty ideas in that head of yours.
I held his both hands and lefted them up, I took off his shirt and helped him to come down from the bed….. I knelt in front of him and helped him take off his trouser….. then I stood off and grabbed him by the arm and helped him into the shower.
SONIA
I’m sorry that I’m intruding on your privacy…..but you know we need to cool off this fever.
JOSHUA
(He smiled)
it’s okay, Sonia….. my legs are hurting, can you please help me into the bathtub now?
SONIA
oh yeah….
I helped him into the tub and started to shower…. he giggled the moment the cold water tou-ched his body.
JOSHUA
it’s so cold.
SONIA
that is what you need right now…. after this shower you will feel okay.
JOSHUA
thank you sonia…and I’m sorry
SONIA
sorry for what?
JOSHUA
I’m sorry for putting you throu-ghall this stress.
SONIA
ssh, ssh don’t be sorry……just promise me you will be okay.
JOSHUA
of course I’m going to be okay….see who is taking care of me….. Sonia herself.
(he joked and I smiled)
Few minutes later he was done bathing, I carried a clean towel and gave it to him to tie around his wai-st…. he did and I helped him to his room.
Immediately we entered his room a knock came from his door and I went to check… it was Bruno, he had bought the drugs I sent him.
he came inside and greeted JJ, asked him how he was feeling before he left.
JOSHUA
you sent him to get drugs?
SONIA
should I seat back and watch you die on me? I had to do something.
JOSHUA
thank you
SONIA
I will go fix you something to eat so you can use this drugs.
I know he was going to tell me his either not hungry or it was late…. so I didn’t give him the opportunity to talk before I left his room.
I made porridge, it was the easiest food that he could eat…. I added alot of fish in it to give him protein
Soon food was ready, I took it upstairs and served him, just like ealier I fed him with the food until he said he was full.
I carried the drugs I left on the table and gave him the dosage prescribed on it, he took them and laid back in bed.
SONIA
I will go drop this downstairs, do you need any other thing?
JOSHUA
(He nods Yes)
I want something
SONIA
okay, so what is it you want?
JOSHUA
I want you to sleep with me tonight
SONIA
is that what you want?
JOSHUA
yeah…. I want to sleep in your arms like a baby….. and I promise not to ruin it like the other night.
SONIA
what other night?
(I asked like I didn’t know)
JOSHUA
you know what I’m talking about Sonia.
SONIA
I will go keep this in the kitchen.
I went downstairs and washed the dishes, clean up the kitchen and went into my room to freshen up and dress for bed….. I wore my pajamas and went into his room.
He wasn’t sleeping yet, his eyes were wide open
JOSHUA
I thought you were not going to come
SONIA
but I told you I will … didn’t I?
I walked to the other side of the bed, climb on it and pulled the duvet to cover us….. he didn’t even let my body touch the bed before he placed his head on my che-st.
SONIA
how do you feel now?
JOSHUA
the headache has subsided, my heart isn’t as cold as before…. and I don’t think my body is burning anymore.
SONIA
I’m glad you are feeling better, the drugs are really strong then…. you should try and get some sleep so it can work even more.
JOSHUA
I don’t want to sleep, I want to spend time with you…. let’s gist.
SONIA
what do you want us to talk about?
JOSHUA
I don’t know, whatever that comes to mind.
SONIA
okay…. can I ask you questions that I have been meaning to ask you?
JOSHUA
since you are going to ask me questions, we might as well just a play game…..what do you think? so in that game I can be free to ask you whatever I want too.
I justed accepted without knowing the rules of the game…. I have never played the game before
