EPISODE 47
SONIA’S POV
I wonder why Eric too would come to the house without letting me know…. yes I was the one who gave him my house address but I didn’t think he would dare want to come visit me where I work.
Joshua wasn’t happy about it and he didn’t even try to pretend, he showed me he was very pissed that Eric came home to visit me
Eric and I spent some time together before he left, I wanted to cook for him but he rejected….all he took was a gla-ss of water.
After he left I prepare spaghetti and chicken, I waited for Joshua to come down and eat his lunch but he didn’t show up….i decided to go to his room to wait him up, I knocked at his door twice but there was no reply……so I had to go back to my room, I waited until it was 4pm again before I went to his door to knock.
This time he opened the door, but his face wasn’t pleasing at all … he looked very angry still.
I tried to explain to him that Eric didn’t tell me before coming else I would have informed him bit he wasn’t even ready to listen to me.
He walked back into his room and left me standing by the door….. I just went back into my room.
Later that night I prepare egusi soup and ca-ssava flour….. this time I didn’t serve the food on the dinning, I decided to take it to his room so I would see how he wil reject my food.
I knocked at his door and he didn’t answer, I knocked again and again until he spoke from inside
JOSHUA
I’m busy Sonia, come in and say whatever it is you have to say.
His response already told me that he was still mad at me…. I pushed the door slowly and entered.
SONIA
good evening sir
JOSHUA
what are you doing?
SONIA
I brou-ght you dinner
(I said smiling)
JOSHUA
And who demanded for it? when you came to my room few hours ago what did I tell you?
SONIA
you said you weren’t hungry
JOSHUA
so? who said I am hungry now?
SONIA
how can you not be hungry? this morning you took only a cu-p of coffee, this afternoon you refuse to eat and now…..you ain’t hungry? you are mad at me that Eric came to visit me, I get it…. but punishing me like this isn’t fair at all.
JOSHUA
I’m surprised you are getting pissed that I don’t want to eat food that I bought with my own money, yes the food you are nagging about was bought with my money… so whasy your deal if I refuse to eat.
Really? has it gotten to that point where he remains me who buys the food now? I was hurt but it’s all fine.
SONIA
I’m sorry for bothering you….. the food is yours, the house even the stomach is yours…. do whatever you want….I’m sorry .
I dropped the food on his table in case he changes his mind to eat and left his room…. I went into the shower and took a cold bathe before jumping into my bed.
Jack immediately beef me on Whatsapp, I didn’t want to reply at first until I saw his next message.
SONIA
oga I’m not in a very good mood tonight, so tell me why you ask me to come online
JACK
whasy turning your mood bad? did you have a querrel with your boyfriend?
SONIA
And who is my boyfriend?
JACK
I heard your guy came visiting today….and I heard his cute too.
SONIA
oh wow, so JJ already told you that I disrespected him by bringing Eric home
JACK
that is his name? Eric? why do you even think JJ is the one who told me?
SONIA
because his the only one who has been mad at me for bringing a man home
JACK
really? but that wasn’t what I heard….I heard you have been keeping malice with for a week now…. I didn’t want to ask you but since we are discussing it now…. will you tell me why you have been mad at him?
SONIA
I wasn’t mad at him, why should I be? I don’t think he knows what his talking about….wait is he the one who told you I have been keeping malice with him?
JACK
haven’t you been keeping malice?
SONIA
well, it’s not like I’m keeping malice, i was just angry …..but that was all in the past because I already forgave him.
JACK
you are confusing me…. but why were you mad in the first place?
SONIA
I’m feeling sleepy…..goodnight.
I said and logged out but immediately he started to call me….I didn’t pick his call, he called twice again still I didn’t answer it
I laid on the bed and rolled until sleep finally to took over me…. I woke up in the middle of the night very hungry,
“why I’m I hungry now self? this stomach will never listen its owner …since Joshua have started insulting me with his food, I might as well remain hungry”
I couldn’t bear the hunger anymore so I jumped down from my bed with my nightie I wore that I wasn’t wearing p@n-ties un-der….and dashed into the kitchen…… I turn on the light, went straight to the fridge, brou-ght out bread and bu-tter, I took some eggs and fried, I robbed the bu-tter on the bread and toasted them…
I made a very hot cu-p of tea and arranged everything on the kitchen center table …..the aroma coming out from my friend egg was already giving me…. i washed my hands and pulled out the chair to sat and start eating.
That was when Joshua walked into the kitchen too.
JOSHUA’S POV
I woke up feeling very hungry, I checked the time and it was just 1am… I tried to manage but I couldn’t, I opened the food Sonia brou-ght ealier but it was already cold and I couldn’t even eat heavy food at that hour of the night.
I tried to for-ce myself to sleep, at least I will eat something in the morning…. I had almost given up hope for food when I started perceiving the aroma of fried egg coming from downstairs.
Who could be cooking at this hour of the night? and that aroma made my hunger worse
I couldn’t control or take that aroma off my mind so I got up and gently walked towards where the aroma was coming from.
it finally lead me to the kitchen, I was kind of surprised when I saw Sonia there…. she was putting on this short nighties that revealed her shape and the face of her ni*ples
I’m not the type to access a woman’s body but I couldn’t help but take a few glance at the standing br*ast before I quickly looked away and pulled a chair to seat down.
JOSHUA
I want to eat too….I’m hungry.
She didn’t say anything, she got up and made another cu-p of tea, toasted more bread and came back to seat down….. we sat quietly and ate our food….. her fried eggs was so spicy that I couldn’t get enough of it.
Soon midnight dinner was over and she got up to wash the dishes…. I sat down sipping my cu-p of tea which was obviously still very hot.
She wasn’t even scared that I could be seeing throu-ghher nightie, she did everything with confident and with no fear at all.
she joined me on the table after she finished washing the dishes.
JOSHUA
who gets up in the middle of the night to fry egg?
SONIA
(She smiled)
who wakes up in the middle of the night to eat fried eggs that he didn’t know how it came about?
JOSHUA
obviously a hungry person, da*n i woke up feeling very hungry….I tried to sleep but the aroma of your food won’t let me sleep again.
SONIA
oh I see….. sorry for making you eat late night food….. I’m going back to bed … goodnight.
She got up and walked to the kitchen door, I quickly got up and grabbed her arm before she could leave.

JOSHUA’S POV CONTINUES
I grabbed her arm before she could leave the kitchen….. she turned and faced me, her eyes looking de-eper into mine.
SONIA
What is it?
JOSHUA
I’m sorry about ealier.
SONIA
(She acted ignorance)
What are you talking about?
JOSHUA
I’m sorry about the way I spoke to you earlier, I acted like a je*k, I know that and I’m sorry.
SONIA
you don’t need to apologise, it’s not like you were wrong……the food is indeed yours
With her response I could tell her angry my statement made her. …. Sonia is this type of person that is very caring and quick in forgiving, but she doesn’t forget…..a week later she will still remember what you said or did to her….. she calls it “awareness” to be aware that such a person can still either hurt you or sat mean things to you.
JOSHUA
I’m sorry Sonia…. I was just pissed off.
SONIA
that is what I fail to un-derstand, why are you pissed off? because Eric came to the house or….
JOSHUA
because you ignored me for a whole week, you didn’t even smile at me, but you didn’t even hesitate before smiling at a man you claimed you didn’t invite over.
I confessed like a child who was caught stealing.
she didn’t say anything for a while,the next thing she turned her back and walked into the living room…. I closed the kitchen door and followed her to the living room.
SONIA
what did you expect me to do? frown at him and Chase him out? I know I’m just an employee at your house…. but don’t you think I deserve a man too? Eric seem like a good guy and his willing to be my boyfriend….so I don’t see why I shouldn’t smile back or take his hand.
JOSHUA
how can you tell? you said today was your first time of meeting him…so how can you tell that his a good guy? what if he breaks your heart?
SONIA
and what If he doesn’t? for all I know Eric is my kind of man…..his not too wealthy, his not going to insult me tomorrow that I married him because of his wealth…. to me his perfect.
Was she trying to piss me off by repeating this same word? what makes her so sure that Eric would be her perfect gentleman? what makes her so sure that Eric would even marry her… why is she trying so ha-rd to make me angry…. but why I’m I even getting angry? I don’t like girls right? why then does it border me that she’s talking about another guy?
I feel so pathetic trying to even convince her that Eric isn’t the right guy for her…
JOSHUA
I wish you good luck trying to win his heart…..
I said and got up, my feelings were hurt and I couldn’t pretend or smile over it like they weren’t….. did I commit any crime by being rich? I worked so ha-rd so I wouldn’t be mocked by my pairs that where was I when they were making money, I didn’t want my children to ask me if I was sleeping when my mates were working hard…. so how dare she think she can talk down on me because I’m wealthy….. I went straight into my room and locked my door.
It’s ha-rd to un-derstand women and that is why I spend all my time loving my fellow men…. they may be mean and selfish but they are very easily to un-derstand.
The next morning was Saturday, I woke up and took my bathe, I immediately set to work, Amanda sent me a file the previous night that I needed to work on urgently.
around 9:20am I was throu-ghwith the work, I went to the bathroom to ease myself… I was still inside when I heard a knock on my door…. I thought it was Sonia…. I asked her to come inside….. I was surprised to see jack seating on the couch in my room.
JOSHUA
jack, it’s you?
JACK
you are expecting someone else?
JOSHUA
no, who will I be expecting? I wasn’t expecting to see you this morning…. that’s why I’m a little surprised.
JACK
oh I see…. so, how are you?
JOSHUA
I’m fine…. How are you?
JACK
I’m good, Sonia said breakfast is served.
JOSHUA
I’m not eating…..how’s Bella?
JACK
why would you be asking me about Bella?
JOSHUA
common bruh, you too ain’t thinking I’m a kid are you? of course I know you are dating the lady.
JACK
(He smiled)
Sonia told you?
JOSHUA
why would she tell me? I’m not blind and I can see for myself
JACK
I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, I wanted to make it a surprise to you both…..but I guess we were too obvious with the relationship.
JOSHUA
yeah, you were….. why not join Sonia for breakfast….she might be waiting for you.
JACK
“us” you mean to say? what is going on between you two? the tension is so hot in here.
JOSHUA
I don’t know, she has been acting strange towards me…..i tried to find out what the problem is but she wouldn’t tell me…..I did everything I could to make her talk but no sonia won’t talk to me…..
JACK
that is strange but what did you feel you might have done to make her start acting that way?
JOSHUA
I don’t know bruh, what I can say is…. she had her normal headache attack, she pa-ssed out and I took her to her room, I injected her with her drugs….waited for her to wake up and when she finally did she cried bitterly and talked about how scared she is if this illness doesn’t go away
JACK
(He looked shocked)
you mean she cried?
JOSHUA
I was as shocked as you were too, she never spoke out about how she feels so it was surprising to me too when I saw her crying…
JACK
what then happened?
JOSHUA
what else should have happened? I hug-ged her, petted her until she was calm…icwanted to go to my room but she insisted I stayed with her and I did… only for her to wake me up in the middle of the night and sent me out angrily.
JACK
what?
(he screamed in shock)
JOSHUA
I don’t know what I did to have deserve that….. just yesterday she brou-ght in a guy to my house….. telling me the guy could be her perfect match.
Thinking of all the things she said the previous night made my heart hurt even more.
JACK’S POV
Joshua has started to develop feelings but Sonia but his room d*mb to even realize it…… i sat down and listened to how he complained about the guy that came home to see Sonia…..I’m a guy so I could tell when a man is jealous….and what I see right now is nothing but pure jealousy….. but what is it that he did, that would make Sonia react that way? did he touch her br*ast or something? if he did wouldn’t it be a think of joy? I mean that is what we all have been praying for isn’t it?
JACK
are you sure you didn’t touch her bre*st?
(I teased to see hsi reaction)
JOSHUA
Why would I touch her bre*st? I’m sure I didn’t act like a pervert..
JACK
you might did it unaware, we don’t really know what happens around us when we are sleeping do we?.
He was quiet, I’m sure he was thinking of what I said.
