EPISODES 46
Amelia met her mum in the living room watching movie, obviously not disturbed that her daughter was rushed to the hospital by another person.
Mrs chioma got up immediately she saw amelia, she wasn’t expecting to see her home so soon.
MRS CHIOMA
oh my little princess, how are you? I was about coming to the hospital to see you.
AMELIA
I can see that mum.
She went into her room and carried her small bag, she took few things and came outside.
Amara was in the kitchen eating when she heard her sister’s voice and came out.
AMARA
oh you are back?
AMELIA
I’m going on a trip with Victor, I don’t know when I’m coming back.
(She said ignoring her sister)
MRS CHIOMA
How can you travel with a man you ba-rely know? what If something happens? who are we going to contact?
AMELIA
Really mum? why why do I feel like you are saying this because I’m not your favorite child? Amara my younger sister went to Canada with a man she ha-rdly know too, but you didn’t stop her…. now you are stopping me…. do I take it that you care about my welfare more than hers now?
AMARA
whatever you want to say you are free to say it but just take my name out of it Okay.
AMELIA
you and mum really shocked me, I woke up at a strange place, and who I saw was Victor? non of my family was there….. wow, I should have known that you guys have been pretending all this while that you love me.
MRS CHIOMA
is not exactly what you think my girl, i wanted to follow you but Victor was in a hurry to take you to the hospital….he wouldn’t let be change my night robe…..i told him to call me when he get to the hospital….ask him if he called me.
AMELIA
and Amara too? she couldn’t follow me to the hospital with her nightrobe I guess…. I honestly don’t have time for this right now mum….we don’t want to be late for our flight.
AMARA
flight? where exactly are you people going to?
AMELIA
it’s non of your damn business.
She said and walked out on them, Mrs chioma and Amara could not hide their shock…. but Amara really wanted to know where they were traveling to so she could know what to do next.
She went outside and meet Victor where he packed his car.
AMARA
Hi Vic
VICTOR
Hi amara…. how are you?
AMARA
good, heard you both are traveling
VICTOR
yeah, we are taking some time off abuja.
AMARA
love is sweet ooh, so where are you people going to?
VICTOR
No place great, just any city we find ourselves…… take care, we don’t want to miss our flight.
He said and entered his car, Amara waved at her sister but amelia was too angry to wave her back.
Immediately Victor was out of sight she started to walk inside but Peter called her so she went to the garden to meet him.
PETER
if I didn’t know you better I will say you meant that wave.
AMARA
how do you mean?
PETER
you and I know that you like cute guys, and Victor isn’t an exception…. I know you Amara and I know what you are capable of doing.
AMARA
Peter you are beginning to sound like a broken drum and if you don’t watch it you might end up a dead man
PETER
(He laughs)
wait are you threatening me? you should know I don’t do well with threat…. beside if I’m wrong why are you then angry?
AMARA
today is not my best of days, so Mr man if you have nothing good to say just avoid me.
(she turn to leave but he stopped her)
PETER
you have had so many men in your life Amara and Amelia has never been lucky with men, which I know isn’t far from your doings…. I just want to warn you, if anything happen to this relationship and Victor end up not marrying Amelia, I will exp-ose your evil deeds.
Amara saw that Peter wasn’t joking and if she did not put Peter in his place he would go about telling Victor what him and she planned to ruin Amelia’s relationship with Michael.
AMARA
wait Peter, with all this nonsense you are vomiting from your mouth, hope you haven’t started singing this ru-bbish to anybody?
PETER
not yet but I soon will….i can’t allow Amelia to continue suffering for what she knows nothing about….. the innocent have suffered enough.
AMARA
(She laughed)
Peter I have heard you okay.
She started to walk away, Peter still didn’t stop talking to her, warning her to stay off amelia’s relationship.
Amara got inside and sat on the couch angrily, she was thinking of the possible way to shut Peter up for good…. she has always known Peter to be a dog, dogs are never loyal.
MRS CHIOMA
so where did she say she’s traveling to?
AMARA
that’s not my problem for now, I have bigger problem than where amelia is going to.
MRS CHIOMA
so what’s your problem? what Happened
AMARA
Peter happened mum, can you imagine Peter threatening to exp-ose me to Victor and Amelia.
MRS CHIOMA
exp-ose you? what does he have on you?
AMARA
have you forgotten? it was Peter I used to set amelia up the day you travelled to the village.
MRS CHIOMA
oh I see…. don’t worry about Peter, his not a problem
AMARA
how do you mean mum
MRS CHIOMA
you should know me by now….i say don’t worry I will handle it.
AMARA
(looked at her mom carefully)
are you sleeping with peter too?
MRS CHIOMA
what? why would you even think that?
AMARA
I don’t know, just answer the question mum.
MRS CHIOMA
just once, it was that night you and Amelia went to the club, I was bored and hor-ny so I went to his place as the only available means I saw.
Amara got up from the couch pacing up and down the room, she can’t believe her mother still slept with peter….. she’s is after her sister’s men while her mother is after her own men…. how fuc-ked up can her family be.
AMARA
I have nothing to say to you for now, just put Peter in order else I will do it my own way
MRS CHIOMA
I will talk to him.
AMARA
(Sat back on the couch)
something just crossed my mind, what if we released Michael so he can come back for Amelia, while Victor and I will continue from where him and Amelia stopped.
MRS CHIOMA
very easy to say but very difficult to do…. I can’t rele-ase Michael.
AMARA
and why is that?
MRS CHIOMA
because Michael is still very rich and we haven’t eaten half of it yet
AMARA
I don’t care mum…. Victor is wealthy too and can give us as much money as we wants
she yelled at her mother which made Mrs chioma angry too…. her daughter is beginning to cross too many lines with her and she doesn’t like it.

Victor and Amelia arrived at his place around 9:pm, traffic was crazy.
Amelia couldn’t close her mouth when she entered Victor’s compound.
AMELIA
you mean you owned this building?
VICTOR
it was my dad’s, it became mine only after when he died.
AMELIA
(She felt bad)
I didn’t know…. I’m sorry
VICTOR
it’s okay, I have moved on…..lets go inside.
AMELIA
(She followed him)
if you have a house as big as this, why did you not settle here but came to Abuja to rent an expensive apartment?
VICTOR
I believe in someone having comfort anywhere they live, provided they have the money to make it happen…. I stayed in the state almost all my life, did all my schooling there…. mum is a Judge there so I didn’t have much of a reason to always come home.
AMELIA
(She sat on the couch)
so your dad was the only one in Nigeria?
VICTOR
how possible is that, dad and mum were Romeo and Juliet, sometimes I wonder how mum had to survive after the death of her husband….. dad has two companies here in Nigeria, and two others in the state…. he put people in charge to take care of his company.
AMELIA
I’m jealous, but continue with your story.
VICTOR
when dad died the people he kept in charge of his companies started to steal from him, they almost made us go bankrupt so mum had to send me to Nigeria…. since they didn’t know me in dad’s company at Abuja I had to apply there, after three trials I was given the job…. I worked for like four months in my dad’s company as an un-dercover till I got all the evidence I nee-ded to sent those steal behind bars.
AMELIA
wow, you are so br@ve and I’m very sure your dad will be very proude of you
VICTOR
(He laughed)
now you sound just like mum
AMELIA
talking about your mum, do you think she will like me?
VICTOR
of course, mum would not only like you, she’s gonna love you too.
AMELIA
I hope so
(she said sadly)
VICTOR
amelia I know your fear, but I want you to know that my mum is not like other richmother’s who wouldn’t want their kids to marry middle clas-s people…. my mum is a believer of true love and I’m sure she will bless our Union.
AMELIA
if you say so.
VICTOR
so tell me babe, you said you are jealous? about what?
AMELIA
babe I’m so exhausted, can we go to bed please? tomorrow we will talk.
VICTOR
yeah you are Right, we should probably get some rest.
AMELIA
hope you have food in this house because sometimes I wake up in the night to eat like evil Spirit.
VICTOR
(He laughed)
of course, I have different kind of snacks in the fridge…. but I don’t have food ooh, I haven’t really stayed in this house for weeks to make me wanna stock the kitchen.
AMELIA
lazy you….snacks would do…. but now I’m still full from the food i ate in the plane.
VICTOR
alright, let’s go upstairs then.
Amelia got up fr the couch she sat and started to go upstairs while Vic packed their bags and went up with her
THE NEXT DAY
Michael got so worried about Amara, since they came back from Canada she has neither called him or answer his calls, so he decided to pay her a visit.
As he got to the gate where Amara lives, that he remembered the warning she have him that he should never come to look for her in her house no matter what.
But he missed her too much and wouldn’t go unless he sees her….so he horn at the gate and the gate man came outside to check who is it.
IBURO
ah oga na you? it’s been a while you….did you travel?
MICHAEL
I have been around….how are you?
IBURO
toh I’m fine sir….should I open the gate for you?
MICHAEL
no that won’t be necessary, just go inside and help me call amara.
The gate man was confuse because he was sure it was Amelia Michael was coming to see then… or did he make mistake with the names?
IBURO
(he laughs)
oga Amara abi anuty amelia? you too dey make mistake with their names?
MICHAEL
(He sigh)
I know what I said Mr….. please go call Amara for me.
Iburo nodded his head and went back into the compound locking the gate.
He went to Mrs chioma’s door and knocked and Amara came out to answer it
AMARA
what is it? because if you came here because of food I’m sorry to tell you that there’s no food for you.
IBURO
that’s why I like you sister more than you, she get patience, but you your own too much….always in a hurry to judge someone….I didn’t come here because of food, I came here because someone asked me to call you.
AMARA
who is that?
IBURO
I have delivered my message, if you like go and see the person, and if you like stand here and be asking me “who”.
(he said and left murmuring insult at her)
Amara was shocked to see Michael, she immediately pushed him into his car, and went to the other side and enter.
AMARA
drive…
(she said with all authority)
MICHAEL
where to?
AMARA
anywhere, just get out of this place.
Michael started the car and drove away, immediately they were out from her area she stop him to pack.
AMARA
didn’t I warn you never to come look for me in my house?
MICHAEL
I wouldn’t have if you had picked my calls…. what’s going on baby, are you avoiding me?
AMARA
that’s not enough reason for you to come to my house on announced, what if my sister was around and she saw you? what would you have say to her? that you came to see me? what is wrong with you Michael.
MICHAEL
I don’t care what Amelia thinks or feel, or I care about is you baby…. why are you punishing me like this?
AMARA
(She signed)
okay fine, I’m sorry I haven’t been picking your calls,I have been so busy.
MICHAEL
you are treating me the way you like because you know you have control over me
That statement got Amara shocked, she turn to look at him immediately wondering if he knows that she’s using something on him.
AMARA
what do you mean by “control over me”?
MICHAEL
You have control over my heart, you know I love you so much and can’t do without you….that’s why you are toying with my heart.
AMARA
(She took in a relaxing breathe)
but I already said I’m sorry
MICHAEL
it’s okay baby, but promise you are going home with me
AMARA
I can’t…. I didn’t prepare to go out, see I’m not even with my phone.
MICHAEL
it doesn’t matter babe, whatever you nee-d you know we can get it at the mall.
AMARA
And my phone?
MICHAEL
if you want a new one I can get it for you, you know I’m capable.
AMARA
I don’t want a new one, you know what just wait for me here let me quick take a bike home and get my phone….. I will meet you here.
MICHAEL
are you sure you will come back?
AMARA
Have I ever lied to you? just wait for me here.
she collected some money from him and came down from his car, she stopped a bike that took her home.
