The guys returned and heard Francis happily laughing inside.
They rushed in to see Bridget laying her head on his l@ps as they were talking.
“He he he strength of a woman. Guy na you laugh that kind laugh so? Victor asked and Bridget sat up.
“No no no plea-se remain that way, keep ma-king him laugh plea-se, Mark said keeping Bridget head back and they bur-st out laughing.
“So how are you now? Looks like you two are together, Fred said.
“Yes she said yes alre-ady, Francis replied.
“Hiann when was that? The proposal itself was not even ro-mantic, Bridget said.
“Ahh I knew it will go bad, you suppose wait for us so we will school you na, I told you to wait, Mark said.
“It was not planned na, she said I am handsome and I fell emotional and it happened, Francis said and the guys laughed ha-rd .
“She said you’re handsome? Ahh someone daughter should call me handsome o I want to check something, Fred said still laughing.
“And he fell emotional, that p@rt caught my ba-lls, Victor said hvgging the wall as he laughed.
“It will be fun having you with us I swear. But sis, pardon him, he’s still a learner but he has a good heart, Mark said to Bridget.
“Yea I can see that too, Bridget said.
“And you two look good together…… “Yes upcoming cute couples. I can’t wait to carry junior, I’m sure he will take me as his godfather, Victor cuts in Fred.
“God father what? Tah no even reason am, Franco said and a call c@m£ on Bridget phone.
“plea-se let me take this call, she said to the guys.
“Hello Grace, are you done? She picked up.
‘Okay sorry i left but he’s doing good now, she said after few seconds.
“I’ll be home soon, thanks for covering up for me you’re the best, she said smiling and dropped the call.
“You’re leaving? Francis asked and she nodded.
“I nee-d to help my friend at home so I’ll take my rest for service tomorrow, she replied.
“I’ll drop you off then, he said getting up.
“Are you sure? She asked.
“Why not? Or don’t you want this handsome guy by your side? He asked wi-nking at her and Victor got choked and coughed loud.
“Very good, jealousy bad o, Franco said as Bridget took his hand laughing.
“Thanks for the warm reception guys i appreciate, she told the guys.
“And thanks for ma-king my guy happy, you’re free to come again, Fred said.
“Thank you, bye, she said waving at them and they did too and Frank gave them a ton-gue out before shutting the door…………..
Francis got to know her place and didn’t want to go despite night was approaching,
“Dear its almost 7pm, she said.
“And i don’t want to go knowing i wont see you again till Saturday, he said and she smiled.
“But we will be talking on phone and i can come down at least once before Saturday, she said.
“Promise, he said.
“Yes I’ll try my best, she said.
“Alright then, good night though I’ll still call you she i get home, he said.
“I know, but let’s pray, Bridget said and held his hands while he surprisingly looked at her and closed his eyes when she began a short prayer.
“May the angels keep a jealous watch over you and protect you from all danger, amen, she concluded.
“Amen to you too, Frank answered and opened his eyes and she gave him a nylon.
“For your friends, she said and he smiled.
“Thank you, he said and she nodded.
“I’ll drop you off then, she said and he gave a shout out to her friend before leaving.
He arrived at the guys place humming songs while the guys were concentrating on the match going on,
“Ahhhh i forgot about this o, they don go far? Franco asked as he sat down with them.
“Na today? Victor replied still concentrating on it and the match was over after 5 minutes.
“Omoh they trash them well but they try aha, the guys said while Franco sadly looked knowing he missed it.
“Where you br@nch go sef since? Mark asked.
“I wanted knowing her place na, so i stayed back to help her out. She and her friend do make supplies of this chin chin, peanuts and the rest of it, they were wra-pping it up so i had to join them knowing that she left the work for her friend just to be with me, he replied.
“eh eh, so because of that you no pick call because you dey chop chin chin, Victor said.
“Pick call? You been call? Frank asked bringing out his phone to see lines of missed calls.
“Omoh i no hear am ring o and its on silence sef. Sorry guys even Maria called, frank said.
“Apology not accepted, so where the chin chin? Mark asked.
“Old men like you still dey chop chin chin? Frank asked.
“Na our dinner you dey pl@ywith so o, welcome to our home where we dey eat biscuit sleep because na who wan cook? Fred asked.
“She package some for us sha as if she sabi, He said showing them the nylon and Mark just left to the freezer and brou-ght out a bottle of drink while Frank looked at him.
“Wait una serious o, na we-tin we wan chop sleep be this? He asked.
“E never clear this guy o, but see kitchen there enter cook. If you cook finish all us we go still chop, Fred replied.
“Make una chop na, i ate alre-ady there so I’m covered, Frank said.
“Who been wan give you before, you think say i been no see your belle, Victor said going to take his drink and Francis tiredly stretched.
“Let me take my bath and sleep abeg, and thanks guys for letting me in, Francis said.
“I go throw you this chin chin o, Mark said.
“Which chin chin? we-tin this thing do you now? Victor asked looking at him.
“Sorry i go throw you my sli-ppers o, you no sabi where room dey? Mark asked and Francis smiled throwing them his belt.
“Goodnight! He shouted and went in when Bridget call c@m£ on phone……….
That night Francis dreamt seeing himself with Bridget, and suddenly she wanted ma-king love with him.
It started with k!sses and she was slowly laying him down with her hands going throu-gh his b©dy,
“Love st©p, i thought…… “You thought what? You love me right? Bridget cuts n.
“I do but this is not right, I thought you’re a pastor daughter and should know better. And again i love and respect you so much, he said and she smiled.
“And i love you too but you’re denying me this, we are not doing anything wrong. St©p acting like a kid, and make good use of this opportunity else you will lose it, she said k!ss!nghis n£¢k pu-lling off his shi-t and he held her feeling so uncomfortable.
“I’m having a bad feeling about this, I’m sorry i cant, he said and attem-pted to get up but Bridget pinned him down.
“What are you doing! He shouted.
“How are you able to know what I’m about to do and you dare try to resist me? You cant getaway from me! A strange voice said and Bridget face began to wear off.
“Who are you? Help! Francis shouted and began struggling as the faceless figure f0rç£d herself on him………..
Bridget who tiredly sle-pt off keeping her head on the table got woken up by her friend.
“Come l@yyour head, I’m finished, Grace said and Bridget stretched.
“I’m done with mine too i guess, she said.
“yes i took them alre-ady, sorry, Grace said.
“Nah its nothing. I’ll join you in the room, let me say few words of prayer first, Bridget said.
“No problem I’ll go take a shower then i feel itchy, Grace said and left while Bridget yawned and weakly dozed off again without knowing.
A call c@m£ from her dad and she woke up,
“Hello daddy, she whispered.
“Is someone slee-ping? No prayers? He asked.
“daddy i feel very weak and tired, she replied.
“Shake it off dear that is not you, i want you to get up on your feet and pray, I and your mom is doing same for you okay,now get up, he said and she cleaned her face and Grace c@m£ out.
“What’s wrong? Why this weakness? Grace asked.
“Give the phone to her, her dad said and Bridget handed the phone.
“Hello sir, Grace said.
“Yes Grace, I’m having a bad feeling and i want you to hold hands with your friend and pray, he said.
“sure sir, i was just about to pray, she said.
“Thank you and good night, he said and dropped the call. Grace rushed in and c@m£ out with a pail of water cleaning Bridget face and she inser-ted her legs in the water.
“How do you feel? Grace asked.
“Better now, she replied………
