EPISODE 72
He situated himself at a hotel building 3 blocks away from the man’s house. Then he fixed the telescopic lense to scout the whole place as well as the men inside a spacious room.
“I can clearly see you now.” He voiced over his earpiece.
“Good.” The man in the white coat replied.
“System hacked successful.” Another man spoke.
“Good.” Said the man in the white coat. “The bodyguard is here. I’ll talk to you later. ” He continued.
“Roger that.” The two young men answered in unison.
“Mister, Sir Zalasar is pleased to have you. Please follow me.” Kami invited the mysterious man.
“Thank you.” The man in the white coat kowtowed then he followed the man inside.
*FLASHBACK:*
Rio couldn’t bear just watching from the distance while Ethan does his best to protect Aisha. He is the biological father, therefore, he should be the one shouldering the burden and not his children.
With that thought inside his head, he called Archie to send two of his best men— Caleb and Hunter. With their abilities alone, they are already a great help. Anyway, Ethan got his clas-sC men.
He had planned to visit Zoren Zalasar but not as Demetrius Mikasa, but as a hunter. That way, he will definitely get the man’s attention since he knew that someone like Zoren wouldn’t allow an audience without prior appointent. But even if he schedules an appointment with him, he will definitely reinfor-ced his men to investigate him first.
He can’t risk that, therefore, his only way is to present himself not just being a mere businessman but someone esteemed in the underworld. He won’t definitely turn him down, that’s for sure.
He waited for Caleb and Hunter to arrived in Estrella City first. he prepared a place for them to stay for the meantime. He’ll just introduce the two to Aisha once they’ve finish this first a-ssignment.
He wanted to have a peaceful talk with Zoren to see if they could fix it before a war breaks loose in Estrella City. If they could solve the problem throu-ghthis visit then they wouldn’t need to see bloodshed…again.
Caleb serves as his sniper. He was tasked to protect Rio at all cost while Hunter sticked to where he is good at– computers! He hacked the whole system at Zoren’s house. So in case of emergencies, then he can control the surroundings at all cost. Even the communication tools of Zoren’s security team was securely dubbed by Hunter. Great team!
Also, Earlier, Caleb and Hunter arrived in the afternoon. Of course, Rio fetch them and showed them their temporary room. With the time given to them, they used it to practice their skills. It has been a long time since they had their last a-ssignment… when was that again? A year ago? Ah, such a long time!
”Aren’t you curious about how she lived her life for the past few years?” Hunter suddenly asked Caleb while wiping his sniper gun.
” Who wouldn’t be curious?” He halted for a minute then continued wiping the gun once again. ”But knowing that woman, no matter how difficult life may be, I’m sure she was able to overcome it.” He smiled.
” Guess you are right.” Hunter beamed. ” She is Aisha after all.”
”Let’s just do this thing right for now so we’ll be able to face her after.” His voice hints sadness. Who wouldn’t? They weren’t there when their friend needed them the most..
Caleb was busy with Lisa at her hometown and Hunter and Sophie was doing something else while Ethan was busy rescuing Aisha that very moment. But what if they had joined the search three years ago? Would it make a difference? They were both in de-ep thought, both seemingly have the same course of imagination.
Caleb and Hunter mourned when they heard what happened to her. But Caleb’s grief and sorrow was too de-ep. He couldn’t believe it at first and he had even blamed himself for what had happened to Aisha. And Lisa knew that very well.
When he needed help, Aisha was always there. That woman never failed him. She had risk her life a lot of times just to save him from near death… but when the time came, when Aisha needed him the most, he was out of town, chasing his heart. If it was Aisha then she will definitely abandon her love just to save her friends… But Caleb failed her! How could he face her now?
A tear suddenly trickled from his eyes and it fell right on his sniper gun’s telescopic lense. He was trying to for-ce those tears back but his tears gushed out uncontrollably. The pain and guilt that he tried to bury for three whole years resurfaced…again.
Hunter felt the same way too but Sophie helped him recover from that feeling of guilt. So he knew how painful it must be for Caleb.
And for the first time in three years, he saw Caleb sobbing painfully. He didn’t utter any word. He only stood still waiting for the man to regain his confidence again.
” I..I failed her, hunter, I failed her! I was not there when she needed me… I killed her too…” his sobbing was getting devastated.
” Caleb…” Hunter muttered. He doesn’t know what to say exactly to ease his guilt.
” I killed her too, hunter… ah!” He squeeked. ” I am responsible for her death too…how could I ever face her now? How could I tell her that this ungrateful man was not able to return all the favors she did for me?” His sobbing didn’t stop.
” Caleb… I didn’t do anything for her either. But I don’t think Aisha will blame any of us for what had happened to her a few years ago….”
”But…”
” Hunter is right, Caleb… I also think that if Aisha is here now, she will definitely tell you the same thing.” A voice interjected from behind. Rio!
”Caleb…” Rio walked towards him and pat him in the shoulder.
” I know how difficult it is to carry such a burden and I understand how you’re feeling right now,but it’s time to let it go. Everything is in the past now. Though it’s true that we haven’t done anything to save her in the past, but at least we have now… let’s thank God for giving us the chance to redeem ourselves.” He encouraged.
” Aisha may not remember anything or anyone for now, but she needs us… she needs our help more than ever. And if we don’t protect her here and now, we might really live our lives carrying the burden of her blood.” He added.
Then Rio stared at Hunter as well. ” I know its difficult, but we need to protect her.” He beseech him.

Caleb heaved a sigh when he remembered what Rio had said earlier. Yes, he was right, he needs to forget the past and focus on here and now. Now that he has the chance to protect his friend, then he doesn’t have the reason to fail. not now, not ever, especially if it is Aisha.
” Touch ém not.” Caleb heard Rio’s stern command. ” I will never hesitate to wage a war once you touch my daughter and my grand-daughter again. And I promise you, I won’t hold back.” He threatened the old man.
” If the rumors are true then I will a-ssume that you are the one who created the underground’s by-laws. And you should know that your daughter was the one who attacked and killed my men…” the old man smirk-ed. ” You should know the rule ‘An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, right?”
” have you forgotten that you made the first move?” Rio raised his brow. His nearly losing his patience. ” You broke inside her apartment and held my grand-daughter and her nanny captive… your men even threatened to take the little kid as a compensation. Do you think any sane mother would stand doing nothing?” He sarcastically asked.
” But she killed them without mercy!”
” I will do the same if I am in her position.” Their eyes are clearly communicating something….
” So what are you trying to imply, huh?” The old man raised his brow as well.
” If you let me, then I am willing pay more than what she owes you.” Rio proposed.
” And?” The old man’s li-ps twitched in annoyance. ” and you’re expecting me to release her after that?”
” Yes. Touch ém not, ever!” Rio spoke with certainty.
” And you expect me to let her go just like that?” Now he’s insulted.
” I am hoping, Mr. Zalasar.” He countered.
But to Rio’s surprise, the old man laughed crazily.
” Don’t you think you’re overstepping your role as her father? Isn’t she matured enough to do things on her own?” The old man was seemingly mocking him.
” Zoren, I think you still don’t understand a father’s role since you were never a father. But let me give you an idea real quick.” Rio started. ” I have never meddled with my daughter’s decision all her life, I have never told her what she must do. But I am always by her side to guide her, encourage her and shows her the right path to take. However, when it comes to her safety, I don’t act as a father alone, I do things beyond…” He explained.
” though I think you still don’t understand.” Rio finally stood up and fixed the cloak to cover half of his face again. ” Anyway, I only came to see if you are willing to fix this issue peacefully, but looks like you have already made-up your decision.”
Then he spun around and was about to leave but he halted immediately.
” Mr. Zalasar, I will give you until tomorrow morning to decide. If I don’t get a response by 11am then I will take that as a signal that you have choosen to wage a war against me. If that happens then I want to tell you, I won’t back down.” His eyes hints a murderous aura and looked at the old man for the last time before he continue his exit plan.
However, the old man scoffed then press a on on top of his table then he smirk-ed.
” And where are you going, Dark shadow hunter?” The old man smirk-ed then pointed his gun on him while he is facing his back on him.
Rio smirk-ed mockingly as he faced the old man. ” doing tricks on me?” He raised his brow mockingly. ” Did you think I will come here unprepared?”
Then the next thing the old man saw was a red laser light that was pointed at Rio’s face then slowly went to the old man Zoren’s . He was the target! But where is that coming from?! The old man wide-ned his eyes in unbelief.
