Finally the exams are over and our prom night is just a week left followed by our graduation that is coming up in a months time. Whenever I remember our prom night, my heart skips, the reasons I don’t actually know.
I and kelvin went for shopping, he insisted on selecting the gown that I will wear that very day, he indeed has a very good choice for clothes… In fact kelvin is a fashion freak, he dresses like a model and dresses to kill too he is simply a genius in everything.
Muna now comes to our house regularly to play games with my brother because we are done with our exams already and kelvin is on holidays….. Sometimes I felt like his deliberately coming to our house on a purpose, his visit is a torment to me… His laughter, his voice, his scream when he beats kelvin and all that always makes me want to run mad but in all, I pretended like I don’t care and always keeps my self busy with my phone or watching television…..
On Thursday afternoon, Muna came by and met me watching movie in the sitting room

Muna: Hi buddy.. He greeted
Lisa: Hi…. Kelvin is in his room I said avoiding his gaze
Muna: I know but I brou-ght you this… He said handing me a small box, wrapped with pink lining and purple ribbon.. Those are my favorite colors and he knew that pretty well.
Lisa: What’s inside, I asked still not looking at him
Muna: Just take it buddy… I bought it for you.
Lisa: I don’t need it… Thanks I said harshly.
Muna: Common Lisa, just take it for the sake of our friendship…. I have always wanted to give you this during our prom night but I never knew that things will turn this way and make us not to be best of friends again.. Please just accept it is my long time wish…. Muna said pleadingly.
After some hesitation, like I’m not dying to know what surprise package in there is..
I guyishly took it and drop it on the cushion, muttered thanks to him… He smiled and left
I opened the box and found what’s in there, I signed a long one and dropped it on the floor….. I thought it was something reasonable but is something I have already and I don’t need that….. Just then kelvin came out.

Kelvin : I thought I heard Muna’s voice some minutes back….he said sitting next to Lisa.
Lisa: yah he left already
Kelvin: Wow! That’s great.. You mean he just came looking for you? That means you guys are good… Yeah! Thank God, his gonna be your prom date tomorrow… Kelvin declare excitedly
Lisa: Just stop dreaming little one…. We are not in talking terms so he can’t be my prom date…. So cut it out
Kelvin: *Surprised *…. So what did he came here to do, he didn’t come for me cus I didn’t see him in my room.
Lisa: Hiss…. He just came to give me this Pointing on the floor
Kelvin: Wow! That’s gorgeously beautiful…. He sure have taste for good things…. Wow! His romantic and I’m jealous…. Kelvin said hugging himself jokingly.
Lisa: In your mind…. Mtcheww! I have that already so I don’t need it… You can take it or I get rid of it… She said sounding so serious.
Kelvin: What! He exclaimed in disbelief…. This will amazingly match your dress and besides is more prettier and fanciful than the one you bought.
Lisa: You’re entitled to your opinion…. Keep it then… She said and walk out
Kelvin: Now very angry…. What’s wrong with you! Who do hell do you think you are!? Kelvin yelled at her sister angrily
You must make use of this, I will make sure of that… He said and took the gift inside his room………… ***
What gift did you think Muna gave to Lisa that she rejected??

I didn’t catch a satisfying sleep on Thursday night because of the great event that’s coming in the evening. I did a lot of thinking about everything and don’t really like the idea of kelvin been my prom date, it won’t be fun but what do I do now…. There’s no backing down again is too late.
I and kelvin has been practicing our dances since last week and each time I dance with kelvin, I just can’t stop wishing or imagining him to be Muna that’s having a dance with me….
I finally slept off around 2am

Kelvin: waky! Waky!! Sleepy head…… Kelvin said playfully dropping water on Lisa’s face
Lisa: Just get out of here kev I still wanna sleep more…. She said drowsily.
Kelvin: Common sis, just wake up, today is Friday… Thank God is Friday!… Kelvin said tickling her.
Lisa: What’s good about Fridays…. She asked robbing her eyes.
Kelvin: You gotta be kidding me sis! Is your prom night today…. Kelvin said excitedly
Lisa: Oh yah I know…. I don’t feel like going anymore… She said and lay back on the bed and cover herself with blanket
Kelvin: You must be joking lady…. Get up lazy lazy, is 7am already…. He said pulling the blanket from her.. Before you know what, they both started playing with pillow….. It lasted for 10mints.

Lisa: kelvin, can I ask you something? Lisa said avoiding kelvins eyes.
Kelvin:… Curious * yah sure..
Lisa: how’s Mu.. Na gonna look like….. She asked stressing Muna’s name.. Now feeling somehow awkward.
Kelvin: Kelvin smiled inwardly, I know it
Eem! You know your dude right, his always cute and handsome…. So his gonna be amazing tonight. He was making a nice face with demonstrations.
Lisa just pictured how cute Muna is gonna be, she realized that she asked the question to the wrong person and quickly try to cover up. What’s with you kelvin? You always gets the wrong impression anytime I asked something that concerns Muna
Kelvin: What do you mean Lisa? You asked how Muna is gonna look like and I just told you now, why picking on me huh?
Lisa: Because you don’t understand simple questions….. What I mean is what he’s gonna be putting on today so that I will identify him since we are gonna be wearing mask… That’s all.
Kelvin: Whatever! I know what you mean.
Lisa: You are just a bunch of trouble… She said eyeing Kevin
Kelvin: And you are..
Lisa cuts in without allowing him complete what he wants to say.
Lisa: Just get lost already
Kelvin: I’m at the door already….. I think you should go and have your hair do is 8am already.
Lisa: you’re right, I told the stylist that I will be there by 8 at the dot…. She said and hurried down from the bed
Kelvin: You better thank me for waking you up
Lisa: Says who? Or I should smash you for delaying me.
She said cli-cking her tongue
Kelvin: you are such an ingrate….. Just hurry up I want to have my hair shave,So that we will go together
Lisa: Why the hair shave again, you are cute except your trying to impress some girl in the school…. Lisa said smiling sheepishly
Kelvin: Of course sis… Don’t forget you’re my bae and I’m your boo so I must impress you tonight…. He said making some dance.
Lisa: Don’t be too excited cuz I might change my mind
Kelvin: Hahaha…. That will be a great privilege then…. He said with a smile
Lisa:…. Just get lost…. She yelled at him when she finds out that she won’t ever win kelvin in talks like this
Kelvin:…. Lol…. I’m lost already…. He said and banged the door.
