~ PREVIOUS DAY ~ THE DAY BEFORE THEIR RETURN.
After leaving Whitney in Elizabeth’s room. Logan went back to his room and layed on his bed thinking about Whitney.
He was still deep in thought when he noticed Whitney drugs which was left on the table.
She had told him that it’s meant for her heart, won’t she need to use it tonight.
Taking the drugs, he went back to Elizabeth room and it was Elizabeth who answered the door.
“I can’t believe she left it behind, she never goes out without taking it with her” Elizabeth said as she took the drugs from her.
“It might be due to what’s happening, just help me give it to her” he said turning to leave only for him to think of some thing.
“How long have you known Whitney?” He asked.
“Have known her for about two years” Elizabeth replied.
“Then she must have told you about her heart condition right?” He asked which got her nodding.
“She did tell me and it was such a sad one especially to the lady who gave up her heart for Whitney”
“She didn’t really tell me much about it but recently she just found out the identity of the lady who saved her life, she said her name was Crystal or some thing ” Elizabeth added and that got Logan freezing on spot.
“What did you just call the name of the lady?”
“Crystal. She said it’s Crystal, didn’t she tell you about it?” Elizabeth asked.
“What else did she tell you?” Logan asked in return.
“Well, she also said that because of her someone has been suffering and that If Crystal hadn’t choose to save her then she would still be alive and at that person side” Elizabeth replied and this got Logan sagging against the wall.
“Are you okay?” Elizabeth asked as she held onto him.
“Where’s Whitney?”
“She’s sleeping but I can help you wake her up if it’s import…”
“Don’t, let her be ” he said as he began to walk off while Elizabeth watch him with a worried look on her face.
As soon as he got back to his room, Logan made some necessary call which got him the answer he wanted.
Due to the pain he felt back then, he never tried to find out who ended up having Crystal heart.
*”It is my fault. Am sorry Logan, am really sorry”*
*”And thanks to me….thanks to me you’ve been suffering for years…Am not the right girl for you Logan”*
*”We can’t be together! We aren’t meant for each other!”*
The things Whitney said to him which didn’t made sense did and that got him curling up on his bed.
Crystal had died while trying to save Whitney. A death that had caused him so much pain and it’s also the reason why Whitney is rejecting him.

~PRESENT DAY ~ LOGAN’S HOME
“You keep insisting that we aren’t meant for each other. Is it because it’s you who has got Crystal’s heart?” Logan said which got her stopping mid way.
“What…. did you just say” the stunned Whitney asked as she kept starring at him.
“You heard me. You are pushing me away cause you think it’s your fault that Crystal died” he stated which got her walking towards him.
“Since when have you known about this?” She asked softly.
“I found out the whole thing yesterday and there’s no point in denying it. You are pushing me away due to the fact that you feel guilty about Crystal”
“Wouldn’t you do the same. Turns out that am the cause of your phobia and unhappiness. If Crystal hadn’t stopped to save me then she would have come to you, she would still be alive and that thought alone makes me feel so guilty” she said holding onto her chest while the tears began to fall from her eyes.
“Crystal died because it’s her time and it’s not your fault. So stop berating yourself and don’t stop me from loving you” he said which got her starring at him.
“You came into my life when have lived in the dark for too long . You showed me light and made me feel happy again, you got my heart beating again for you, I love you Whitney, I really do” he added and that got her crying harder.
“You can’t love me. Am not the right girl for you, I keep hating myself for what I did to you and that thought alone can’t make me open my heart to you. So like I said earlier, just forget about me” she said as she head for the stairs.
“If Crystal gave you her heart then shouldn’t you try to make it up to her? Shouldn’t you try to love me back? ” He yelled after her which made her stop once again.
“This isn’t about Crystal heart, it’s about the guilt I feel towards you and Crystal and It will keep on haunting me till the day I die” she said this with out looking at him.
She continued her walk on the stairs only to fall trip on the stairs which got her falling down.
Logan crying out her name was the last thing she heard before losing conciousness.

“Its just a mild concussion, she will be okay soon. She only needs some rest ” the doctor said before leaving the room.
After seeing the doctor off, he went back to the sleeping Whitney.
Pulling the sheets over, he got into the bed and pulled her into his arms and a while later, he also slept off.
It was during the wee hours of the morning that Whitney woke up and when she saw that she wasn’t sleeping alone and that she was in Logan arms.
She move away enough so she can watch his sleeping face.
Tears formed in her eyes and she found herself touching his face.
Everything might have work out for them if the tragic accident had never happen.
They would have made a perfect couple if she isn’t feeling guilty. Each time she thinks of Crystal, she ends up thinking about the life Logan could have had with her which makes her feel more guilty.
She just can’t do it, she might feel some thing for Logan but it isn’t strong enough to make her stay with him which is why she has to leave.
Due to the birds loud chirping, Logan woke up only to find Whitney missing.
His search led to no sign of her and when he returned to her room in search of his phone,he noticed a white paper on the desk.
★ AM BEING COWARDLY BY DOING THIS BUT ITS THE ONLY WAY I CAN SAY THIS TO YOU. I CAN NO LONGER PRETEND TO BE YOUR FIANCEE NEITHER CAN I CONTINUE TO BE YOUR DOCTOR. AM SORRY FOR EVERY THING LOGAN, AM AFRAID THAT IF I KEEP ON SEEING YOU THEN I WILL KEEP ON BLAMING MY SELF AND THAT’S WHY HAVE DECIDED TO LEAVE. ITS THE BEST THING FOR THE BOTH OF US★
As soon as he finish reading the letter, Logan squeeze it in his hands and threw it away in anger.
Why is it so easy for her to leave? Why is it so easy for her to leave him behind? He thought feeling hurt.

~ BRIGHAM HOSPITAL ~
Whitney got back to her dorm only to see Logan waiting there for her.
“I really think you should talk about it” Elizabeth said before leaving the room.
“Why are you here?” Whitney asked.
“You are being unfair Whitney. I don’t deserve this from you neither do what we feel for each other ” Logan said.
“Have told you already that we can’t be with each other. I purposely write that letter so we would save ourselves from having this kind of scene but you just had to show up in the hospital!” Whitney yelled at him.
” Am only here to make you see reason. What happened in the past should be kept in the past, it shouldn’t affect us”
“That’s so easy for you to say since you aren’t the one affected. Have myself clear, there can never be a us, we just aren’t right for each other”
“Why? Is it because you are still in love with Romeo? Is he the reason why you keep pushing me away?” Logan asked and seeing that as an excuse to make him leave her alone, she decided to use it.
“You are right. I keep pushing you away because I love Romeo, he is the only one for me and I can’t and will never be able to open up to you. You are nothing to me, Logan. Get that into your head and leave me alone!” She yelled at him which got him looking down cast.
“Fine. Your wish is my command” he said as he walk past her.
Immediately he did, Whitney knelt on the floor crying and that was how Elizabeth saw her when she came in too.

~ THREE DAYS LATER ~
“Hurry up Whitney or we will be late for class” Elizabeth said and just as that moment she got a call.
Whitney finished pulling up her zipper and when she picked up her bag to leave.
The stunned look on Elizabeth face got her pausing.
“What’s wrong?”
“This is bad. Logan is…..”
