“Who am I?” Ariel scoffed, glaring hatefully at Melanie.
“Yes… I need to know what you’re doing in my house…” Melanie muttered, emphasizing on the word “house”.
“Ho…. House,” Ariel stuttered, staring at Axel who was not even giving her a glimpse. His gaze was on Melanie’s throu-ghout.
“Who’s she?” Ariel questioned.
“Axel’s roommate,” Mrs. Braun answered.
Ariel turned to her in shock. A pretty lady living in the same house with her fiance??
Axel snatched his hand away from hers rou-ghly and pushed her from him.
“Come closer once more and you won’t like what I’m gonna do to you,” Axel warned, staring at her with no ounce of emotion in his eyes.
Ariel shifted back slightly in fear and rushed to Mrs. Braun, holding her by the arm.
“Axel, be respectful,” Mr. Braun scolded.
Axel rolled his eyes.
“I hope when I’m back, you’ll be gone” Axel said and left the house.
“Axel! Axel!” Mrs. Braun yelled.
He never answered till he finally left the house.
“Gosh, what do I do with that boy?” Mrs. Braun slapped her forehead.
Melanie bit her li-ps. It was clear that she wasn’t needed there so she excused herself, going back to her room.
“Mom, I want that girl out of this house. I don’t want a lady living with my fiance,” Ariel said.
“I’ll do something about it, Ariel. Just keep your mind at rest, he’ll be back home again”
Ariel smiled, but then it suddenly disappeared when she remembered Melanie’s pretty face.
“So annoying,” she gro-aned inwardly.

Melanie entered her room and let out a heavy breath.
“Who’s she?”
“Why was she here with his parents?”
“They seemed close, is she his girlfriend?” Those were the thoughts running in Melanie’s head.
“Argh, this is driving me crazy. I really shouldn’t be bothered about this, but….” She bit her li-ps.
“fuc-k , what’s wrong with me? Why do I need to know about whom he dates?”
She went to the bed and sat on it. An idea suddenly popped up in her mind and she grinned.
She stood up and went to her closet, going to change her clothes.

A4’S SUITE***
Aaron was lying on the couch, pressing his phone while Aiden was busy playing games.
Axel entered the house and they stopped what they were doing at once.
“You look dull, are you fine?” Aaron asked, dropping his phone to the side.
“Can’t believe they had to piss me off early in the morning” Axel grumbled, sitting on one of the sofas.
“Who? Lemme guess, your parents?” Aaron asked.
“It’s obvious already,” Aiden muttered.
Ace showed up at that time, he was just coming out of his room, dressed in all white.
He stopped walking when he saw Axel present. He sighed and went to sit beside him.
“Yesterday… Why did you do that?” He asked.
“What?” Axel glanced at him.
Aiden shook his head and continued playing his game.
“Why did you have to hug her in front of everyone?” Ace asked again.
“It just had to happen,” Axel shrugged. He brou-ght out a box of cigarettes and was about to light it when he suddenly remembered Melanie’s words.
*”Can you stop smoking? I hate guys who smoke,” she mumbled sleepily.
“I don’t wanna hate you, so quit it please,”*
He stopped himself and put the cigarettes back in his pocket.
* Why do I care if she hates guys that smoke? I’m really going insane * he said to himself.
“You don’t have anything for her, do you?” Ace suddenly asked, bringing Axel’s attention back to him.
“You guys stay in the same house, so it’ll be easy for you to fall for her. What am I saying? I know you can never do that, I should stop worrying” Ace smiled and stood up.
“I’m going to try in winning back her heart, even if I go extra miles,” he muttered
Axel stood up and went to his room without a word.
“I really don’t understand you anymore, dude. Just pray she accepts you back because I’m sure you hurt her a lot” Aaron said.
“It’s not gonna be easy, but I won’t give up,” Ace said with a determined smile.
“Never,”

MONASH UNIVERSITY***
A loud scream erupted from the student’s li-ps when Melanie entered the hall. She was putting on a crazy boyfriend jean and a white crop top, pink sneakers and a pink bag to match.
Her long hair was flowing in her back, till it reached her b*tt.
She was always looking beautiful, but today, if there was any other word to describe her, then the students would gladly do it.
“Hey,” Melanie smiled as she walked past Kylie who was staring at her with his mouth agape.
“Is that really Melanie?” He wondered.
Melanie got to Lauren and Julie who were also staring at her in shock.
“You look hot, babe. Gosh, I’m so envious of your beauty,” Lauren smiled when Melanie got to them.
Melanie ignored her completely and sat not too far away from her.
Lauren’s face fell immediately and Julie stared in confusion.
“What’s wrong?” Julie asked Melanie.
Melanie brou-ght out an earpiece and inse-rted it into her ears, not glancing at them even for a second.
“Is she mad at us?” Lauren asked sadly.
Julie sighed and stood up, walking to Melanie. She removed the earpiece from her ear and placed her hand on her waist.
“What was that for?” Melanie questioned, smiling secretly.
“We’re here talking to you and you’re acting like we don’t actually exist, can you please tell us what’s wrong?”
“You should guess yourself” Melanie simply said, looking away from her.
Lauren stood and joined them.
“Was it because we left without a word this morning?” She asked gently.
Melanie looked at her.
“We’re sorry about that. You were still sleeping soundly and we didn’t wanna disturb you. Sorry, if we hurt your feelings but I really hate it when you’re mad at us” Lauren said
Melanie suddenly bursted into a laugh, clapping her hands loudly.
“I got you two! That was a prank!” She laughed.
“Wh… What?” Julie looked at Lauren.
“You….” They chorused at once and Melanie sprang up from her seat and ran out of the clas-swith her friends running behind her.
“I just love her, she’s so free”
“I really admire the relationship she has with her friends”
“She’s just so beautiful, but is she really dating Axel?”
The students started to murmur.
“Melanie is not dating Axel so quit spreading false rumors!” Kylie yelled from where he was.
“What’s wrong with him?”
“She’s not dating Axel? I can’t finally breathe”
Kylie shook his head and left the hall.

SENIOR’S BLOCK***
Audrey sat in the cla-ss, staring at the entrance door at intervals hoping for Axel to come in at that moment.
“When is he coming?” She gro-aned.
She glanced at Sienna.
“Does she stay in the hostel?” She asked.
“Who?” Sienna asked cluelessly.
Audrey rolled her eyes and stood up.
“Nevermind,” she left the cla-ss.
“What’s wrong with her?” Sienna shrugged her shoulders.

Melanie was sitting outside, talking with Julie and Lauren when Paisley pa-ssed by.
Melanie quickly stood up and went after her. She held her arm and Paisley turned to her.
“Aren’t you gonna ask about Mom and Dad?” Melanie asked gently. She thought she could hate the girl in front of her but no, she couldn’t. She was just like a sister to her, it wasn’t easy to forget her that way. And, she misses her greatly.
“Why should I?” Paisley asked rudely.
“What?”
“I really don’t care about you anymore Melanie, stay away from me. And tell your Mom to stop disturbing me with calls, I really don’t wanna be rude to her” Paisley wrenched her hand away.
She stared at Melanie’s dressing and chuckled.
“Looks like the good girl is suddenly changing to a bad one, all because of Axel?” She scoffed.
“It’s not gonna last, trust me. I don’t know what’s going on between you, but I can a-ssure you that it’s not gonna last. Why? Because Axel and Ace are friends. Who knows, he might even go after her,” Paisley gestured towards Julie.
“And… Stay away from me..” Paisley glared and left Melanie who was busy staring into space.
“What did you talk about with her?” Julie asked as she joined Melanie.
“She…. She’s not the Paisley I know, she…” Melanie bit her li-ps.
“I told you to forget about her, didn’t I? We’re here for you” Lauren added, wrapping her hands on Melanie’s shoulder.
Melanie suddenly received a beep from her phone. It was a message from Ace.
★ I WON’T GIVE UP ON YOU, MELANIE. NOT EVEN ONCE, CAN WE MEET UP AFTER YOUR CLas-sIS OVER? ★ The message reads.
“Who’s that?” Lauren asked.
Melanie showed her the message.
“He’s not giving up, is he?” Lauren scoffed.
“So, are you planning on going back to him?” Julie asked.
“What kind of question is that? If you’re the one, are you gonna go back to him?” Lauren asked.
“It was just a question,” Julie mumbled.
“I’m not going back to Ace again, I learned my lesson the ha-rd way. What gives me the a-ssurance that he isn’t gonna do worse than that if I go back to him?”
“Besides, I’m over him. It wasn’t easy, but I did” Melanie muttered.
“Fine, I didn’t mean to hurt you with my question. I just…”
“I’d like to be alone,,” Melanie said. She turned and left.
“You shouldn’t have asked that question, now I don’t think she’s feeling good,” Lauren muttered.
“I didn’t mean to,” Julie said.
“Let’s just give her a little space,” Lauren said.

Axel was walking with Aaron and Aiden when he saw Melanie, she was pa-ssing by and it was obvious that she didn’t see them.
“Wow, isn’t that Melanie?” Aaron whistled.
“Ace really messed up big time,” Aiden shook his head, still staring at Melanie.
“Damn, she’s so beautiful. I’d never hurt her if she was my girlfriend, Ace is truly a fool” Aaron muttered.
“You two should go ahead, I need to do something” Axel said.
“Huh?” He was already out of sight and Aaron sighed.
“Really don’t understand him anymore,” he mumbled.
“You can never understand Axel,” Aiden chuckled.
Aaron was about to take a move when he saw himself being swept off his feet just by seeing her innocent and cute face.
“fuc-k , who’s she?” He mumbled still staring till she finally walked away.
“My heart….” He touched his chest before facing Aiden who was staring at him.
“Did it just beat for a lady??” He mumbled in shock.

Axel watched as Melanie entered a cla-ss, he was about to go after her when he suddenly stopped himself.
“What am I doing?” He sighed.
He made to turn but he found himself walking to the clas-sMelanie entered.
Audrey who was walking around saw him, a smile left her li-ps and she walked to the cla-ss.
She was about to enter but quickly stopped herself when she saw Melanie.
“That bit-ch again?” She rolled her eyes in anger.
She decided to see what they were up to.

Melanie was walking to sit on an empty chair when she felt movement behind her. She turned and was surprised to see Axel.
“You?”
“Why are you here in an empty cla-ss? Are you okay?” Axel asked.
“Why are you always here when I feel down?” Melanie mumbled but he clearly heard her.
“Honestly, I don’t know. I just find myself getting mixed up in your business” he muttered and went closer.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
Melanie shook her head and sat on a table lightly.
“I don’t know. I really thought she was going to be remorseful when she heard about my parents, but it turns out that she wasn’t” she sighed.
“I really wished to stop caring about her,” she added.
“It won’t be easy,” Axel suddenly said.
“Huh?”
“Can I ask you a question?” He asked.
“Yea,”
“Do you have any plans of going back to Ace?” He asked.
“Can I ask a question too?” She asked.
“Yea,”
“The girl at the house, is she your girlfriend?”
“No, she’s no one”
“So, do you?” He asked.
“I don’t. I’m not going back to him,” she muttered.
Axel breathed out in relief which surprised him. He knew he shouldn’t be doing this but he had no control of himself at that moment.
“Last night, you said I should stop smoking,” he muttered, moving closer till their faces were so close
“I did?” Melanie muttered in surprise.
“Yea. You hate guys who smoke, don’t you?” He asked.
“Er… Yes. I’ve always wanted you to stop smoking but…”
“Then stop me,” he suddenly said.
“What?”
“I want you to stop me right now,” he whispered.
Melanie swallowed ha-rd as her heart started beating fast. He was so close and his cologne clouded all her sense of reasoning.
Subconsciously, her hand went to his shirt and pulled his head to her, pressing her li-ps on it.
Axel’s eyes wide-ned, he wasn’t expecting that from her.
Her li-ps moved on his for a while and when she finally got her senses back, she quickly broke the ki-ss
“Er…” She stared at his chest in embarra-ssment.
“Did that work?” She asked slowly, feeling embarra-ssed.
Axel smiled and lifted her chin so she could look at him.
“It did,” he pulled her to him and slammed his li-ps on hers, ki-ssing her with de-ep affection.
Audrey’s eyes wide-ned and she stumbled back in shock. She turned and ran out of the place, her legs shaking badly.
Melanie released a soft mo-an into his li-ps as his li-ps moved on hers seductively.
Axel broke the ki-ss and raised his hand, rubbing her we-t li-ps with it.
“Let’s make a bet,” he murmured.
“If you pas-sit, you’ll be my girlfriend,” he said.
Melanie stared at him.
“What if I fail?” She asked breathlessly.
“I’ll be your boyfriend,” he whispered.
