Davis
I twirl myself on my executive office chair in anger
I only do that when am angry or probably in a bad mood
back then when I was younger, I do visit the pl@yground whenever am angry, and my first point of call is the swing
it has a way of changing my mood into a plea-sant one or so i thought
I kept on twirling the chair round but the silly old trick wasn’t working cause I felt so much anger,running throu-gh my spine
“arrrrrrrrrrrrgh” I slammed my forehead confusedly and angrily
what am I gonna do?
just like a dream!
just like a stupid oblivion
mum and dad just c@m£ out of the blues with marriage proposal!
and here they are trying to spoil all have worked so ha-rd to keep,preserve and secure
I made all this without a lady so I don’tfu-cking nee-d one now!
“arrrgh!” I gr0@nscurrying off to the bar in my office
all I nee-d is a drink!
just a glup and am gonna be okay!
I got hold of a bottle of wine, pu-ll off it’sfu-cking wra-p before popping it open
I wra-pped myl-ips on the lid, drinking directly from the bottle
I ruffle my head after each gulp, probably to soothe my aching head
I staggered to my chair and sat on it,I was beginning to feel ti-psy, I knew vividly that alcohol and I are never friends
fuc-k!
what a good way to get a ruin day
my office door flung open and Jemima walked in looking crazily beautiful as always
she clearly looked shocked on seeing me in such a state
“what happened to you Davis?
we have a commercial to carry out in less than 20minutes and your like this?
come on Davis,this is really not good” she huffed slamming a hand on her forehead
“oh! cut the tra-p Jemima!
the board can get a replacement for me cause I aren’t stepping an inch out of here” I said and she wore a confused look
“seriously?
you and I know the board can never get a replacement for you Davis,youfu-cking know that!” she rasp and I sat more comfortably on the chair
mum and dad are to be blamed for this,they caused it!
“fine then!
there’s nothing wrong in you shooting the commercial without me” I mouthed straining my eyes
“for goodness sake Davis, this is a couple shoot and I possibly can’t do it alone” she rasp and I kept mute letting the silence between us thicken a bit
“perhaps you could help out Jemima” I said and she de-epened her frown
“how else can I help out when you just don’t wanna speak up” she scoffed and I placed my legs on my office table

just few gulps I took, few gulps!
and here am I, helpless like a frustrated drun!kard!
mum and dad thought this is over huh?
they thought they’ve scored a goal right?

“are you gonna speak up or watch me walk out” Jemima drift into my thoughts and I batted my lashes
“my parents are forcing a lady on me Jemima, amfu-cking getting married soon” I rasp knocking my fist on my open palm in an angry manner

seriously?”she asked with a shock and worried look on her face
“you know how much I hate jokes don’t you?”I rolled my eyes at her

gawwwd…..I hate having hangovers,now am stuck with one
“I mean… it’s kinda surprising and funny too
who knows your dad must have been joking” she said and all I could do was scoff
“dad knows better than to joke with me” I said and she kept mute for a while with a worried look,obviously she’s thinking but I wasn’t finding the silence funny
“you know, I think you can possibly use the door if you’ve gat nothing to help me with” I said getting pissed up and she j£rked back from her reverie
“oh! no…not that sir Davis,I actually don’t know where to come in but I think have gat something to soothe your aching nerves with” she said taking her hands up to her bu-ttoned shi-t, she re-leased three bu-ttons and her cleaveges pop up into sight
she wi-nks at me and I let out a grin
“we have a commercial to shoot remember?” I asked not like I was gonna let her go either
“they should get a replacement for us” she said covering the space between us, she sat on my desk and shove me gently towards her self

just go!” I yelled vehemently shoving Charles out throu-gh the door
“am sorry Robyn it’s not what you think” he argued trying to t©uçh me but I shove his hands off me and landed a sl@p across his stinky mouth

I don’t wanna set my eyes on you again you swine”I shove him out and ban-g the door so loud, leaning on it, a hand on my forehead and the other over my mouth as I let out the tears I had been holding
I cried so ha-rd that my cheeks ache
I could swear my face was red and puffy alre-ady and my eyes are alre-ady swollen like an egg
gawwd!
I so much hate Charles, how could he betray me!
he made me look like a fool before dad!
what could have come over Charles!
I nee-d no one to tell me dad has a hand in this,now he has won!

Robyn’s dad, Mr Peterson smiled immediately the guard ushered Charles into the sitting room,while Mrs Peterson kept watch over their daughter to see if she’s insight
Mr Peterson had instructed the guard to direct Charles straight to him ,immediately he arrived
“good day sir”Charles greeted in all smiles with a little bow
“do have your seat young Man” he motioned for Charles to seat and he did
” I don’t like dwelling on unnecessary things am a man of little words, kindly tell me what connection you have with my daughter young man?”Mr Peterson asked and Charles looked surprised
“actually sir, she invited me here saying you requested….” he tried saying
“I asked a question young man” Mr Peterson ch!pped in and Charles kept mute
“well sir, we are both lovers and I love her so much”he said and Mr Peterson let out a croaky laughter
“I bet you would prefer 3thousand dollars to her” he said and Charles kept mute
“listen young man, I want you to terminate whatsoever business you have with my daughter, I might get you killed if I want to but am pres£nting you with an offer cause am a good man” he said and Charles kept mute
“here is your money” he said handing him a cheque which he refused to collect
“I give you 3 minutes to take this or lose your life and the offer
1…..2” he counted and Charles got hold of it in fear
“good boy” Mr Peterson jeered mockingly

“come on Davis, breakfast is re-ady” mum said for the up tenth time and I furrowed my brows”
“and I said I aren’t hungry “I said moving out of my room and Mum followed suit we took the stairs down to the sitting room and mum kept on talking nonst©p

“over here Davis” she motioned for me to proceed to the dinning section and I rolled my eyes at her
the other wives and children were probably having a swell time on the dinning table and I really aren’t re-ady for a morning br@wl and stunts from some low lifeless gold diggers
“good morning dad” I greeted dad whose eyes were fixed on his phone and made to walk past him when his de-ep voice made me st©p on my tracks
“not yet son!
have gat a word or two i wanna share with you” he said and I refrained myself from scoffing
“make it snappy dad!
in an hour time I would be shooting a movie plea-se” I said and he nodded motioning for me to sit on a couch beside him, which I reluctantly did
“I really don’t know how your gonna be chance son, but I nee-d you by weekend”dad said and I sh0t him a surprise look
“what for dad?” I asked with my eyes fixed on my phone
“don’t you think you nee-d to check up on your bride to be?
to see her and possibly get to know each other ” dad said and I frowned

“what the hell mum! I have a meeting to attend tomorrow” I said and she rolled her eyes at me
“that’s not happening Davis, we don’t have time!
you nee-d to hurry up and get her, who knows she might even have a b©yfri£nd”mum rasp and I frowned
“and I never said I wanted her in the first place why don’t you guys just let her be,rather than coaxing her!
not like I want her in the first place”I ra-pped feeling anger burn in my spine

I believe no one was deaf when i said am gonna be busy tomorrow” I yelled getting on my feet in anger
“and no one is asking for your opinion!

“I guess we are done then?” I asked mum who stood at a far end of the sitting room, ma-king a call and she wi-nks at me

I guess am stuck then,
“I beg to take my leave now dad” i said and walked out even before he could reply

and guess what princess!
it’s tomorrow!!”mum said and I rolled my eyes angrily
“whatever!”i muttered inaudibly and made to climb up the stairs
“come on sweetheart!
you know your dad and I want the best for you”she said and i scoffed feeling frustrated alre-ady
“and you think forcing me into an early marriage against my will and approval is the best thing for me? huh!
for goodness sake mum am still a teenager”i refrained myself from yelling and a tear strode down my cheeks
mum placed a hand on my cheeks and slowly wiped the tears off my cheeks

you know how much i love you and will always want the best for you,
your dad is going into politics,and you know how desperate he is in pursuing something he’s craving for,
now that your dad has the backing of the president,the election won’t be peaceful cause his opponent are becoming jealous and more desperate ,they are re-ady to do anything just to get to that position your father is aiming for too
plea-se baby, i want you to be in safe hands, i won’t be myself if anything happens to my only child”mum snivelled and it suddenly dawned on me that she was crying
“mum!”i called and she buried her face on my shoulders
God! am losing it!
i just don’t know what to do, i feel disorganise
i wish this whole thing would just turn into a crazy dream

he’s planning on selling his seventh house beside the lake “mum said and i g@sp

i will arrange with Mrs hvggins for you both to attend a family planning,to lecture you guys more on the do’s and don’t’s in marriage “mum said and i drew her into a hvg
