“good morning dad!
good morning mum!” i greeted climbing down the stairs majestically with my personal guard behind me, while i tried bu-ttoning my sleeve shi-t properly
“morning my prince, how was your night?” mum asked ruffling my hair with her palm
“it was fine thank you mum” i replied taking the last step on the stairs, walking properly into the sitting room
“now that you are here son, let’s proceed to the dinette for breakfast” mum said and i st©pped her with a raised palm
“nope mum!
that won’t be necessary, am having a sh0t in less than 40minutes” i interjected and mum sat back,beside dad whose bestacled eyes were running throu-gh the lines of a magazine
“okay son, your dad and i s£nt for you cause of something important” mum said and i rolled my eyes
“yeah! mum!
it’s important least i won’t be here!”i said and dad placed the magazine he was going throu-gh, on a stool beside the couch, before pu-lling his spec and fixed his eyes on me
“make it brief dad!
have gat something to do at work”i said and dad batted his lashes
i took my eyes round the large sitting room and breath out in relief cause we were the only ones pres£nt here
dads other wives and kids seems to have gone out alre-ady or perhaps so it seems
“Davis!” dad called and i took my eyes to him
” what have you been doing concerning the options i gave you the other day?” dad asked and i rolled my eyes
i thought as much!
“well, have been busy lately” i said and dad chuckled in a mocking manner
“you really don’t wanna lose everything i have to your younger brother
do you?” dad asked and i felt peeved
“he isn’t my brother dad!
and you know it, so st©p ma-king it looks like we are!”i refrained myself from yelling
“well then, i and your mother had gotten a bride for you” dad said and i suddenly went dumb
“mum! dad!” i called in shock and a smile crept up on mums face
“what the hell!!” I yelled and mum shrinked obviously ah wasn’t expecting my outbur-st
“am old enough to make decisions of my own dad!
i don’tfu-cking nee-d you and mum to go about taking decisions for me” i raved and dads face looked stone cold

the one who has all it takes to manage that company is you Davis!
and am forever re-ady to make decisions for you whenever you fail in ma-king one for yourself,” dad said

that’s preposterous and I won’t be a p@rty to it!”i raved and dad stood up from the couch, getting a hold of the magazine and his spec
he gave me a long look
“you are getting married to the lady your mum and i got for you, and that is final!

my word is law!”dad said and took the lift up to his room

“mum!” i called and mum quic-kly stood up in a bid to go after her husband

📱i still couldn’t believe mum and dad are serious about all this but i gat to show them am serious too” i spoke into the phone pacing to and fro in my room
i just couldn’t figure it out, that mum and dad could even think of doing all that to me, not like i had a tag on my n£¢k saying I nee-ded an husband or something!
Cas-sy huffed into the phone, everything sounds surprising to her, just the same way it’s sounding surprising to me
📱why don’t you just report to the cops Robyn, perhaps it will be somewhat better you know!”Cas-sycs voice boomed out from the receiver
📱seriously Cas-sy, i just don’t know what to do, what mum and dad wanna do isn’t even illegal Cas-sy!

but forcing me against my wish is illegal, i don’t want mum and dad to go to jail cause of me, besides they can sort themselves out with the cops with money!

i walked towards the door and unbolt it, ma-king Evelyn walk in, properly inside my room
i stared at her with wi-de eyes before hanging up on the call
“good day ma’am Robyn”she greeted with a slight bow and i nodded

she disappointed me again right?”i asked in anger and she tried speaking
“to hell with herfu-cking wares! i won’t patronise her again
i hate disappointments ” i yelled kicking the air in anger
that’s my clothe designer
she’s suppose to deliver my monthly wares today and Evelyn was to go get it, now she has disappointed me again like she did the other day

“am sorry ma’am Robyn, but your clothe designer actually said your dad had instructed her not to give out your usual monthly br@nd if clothes” she said and i felt anger and confusion run down my spine

dad!!!”i called in anger storming out of my room towards dads study room
i unbolt the door knob and got in,p@n-ting heavily like i just ran an Olympic race or something

I took one last look at my reflection on the mirror, picked up my phone and took slow and steady steps out of my room
I ban-g my room door gently behind me before taking the stairs slowly to the sitting room
I caught a glimpse of dad staring out of the window and I refrained from greeting him cause he held a phone over his ear
obviously he’s ma-king a call and his back was turned to me
I got into the sitting room and looked around in surprise and fear
gosh!
he isn’t here yet!……gawwwd!
I felt angry and disorganized
I thought I called him few minutes ago and he told me he’s few houses away!
how come he isn’t here yet?
“good morning princess” I heard dads voice and I took my eyes up to the stairs to see him climbing down with majestical steps
his white regalia shone un-der the little sun rays and a smile crept up my face on seeing mum beside him
perfect couples!

good morning mum!” I greeted moving into dads open hands
he have me a pe-ck and mum did same
“where’s he?” mum asked and I saw a smile on dad’s face
is he that eager to see him?
why then is he smiling so satisfactory?
perhaps he’s glad he isn’t here yet?

“mum” I called in reply instead, trying to dodge her ridiculous question
“your so called b©yfri£nd, where is he Robyn?” dad ch!pped in and I could tell my face was red with anger alre-ady
“he’s on his way dad” I said and that let out a croaky laughter
I nee-d no one to tell me he’s mocking me alre-ady
my phone beeped and I looked in to see a message from that motherfuc-ker

have gat a call”I lied and hurriedly took the stairs up to my room
I plonk into my be-d in anger with tears threatening to fall off my eyes
I checked the message immediately

I flung my phone to the far end of my be-d in anger,i bend to my kneels pu-lling off thefu-cking heels I had on
can’t today get any better!
to think that I skipped school today, cause of some stupid…….gawwwd!

my phone suddenly rang and I swiftly got hold of it expectantly, punching the answer bu-tton

my parents are waiting!” i yelled feeling fustrated and angry

I smiled at the phone, placing it on my che-st before getting off the be-d

he’s coming!!!!!” I screamed in excitement
punching the air, all in excitement
I wore my shoes immediately and hurry up to tell mum and dad, he’s on his way alre-ady
I ran down the stairs in haste but st©pped on my tracks on seeing someone i least expected to see at the moment

I thought he called few seconds ago that he’s stuck up in traffic?
what’s he doing here now?

he smiled on seeing me, dad smiled too while mum’s face was straight and blank
she looked happy a while ago wasn’t she?
she can be unpredictable at times
“oh! she’s here” dad said and Charles stood up with a smile on hisl-ips
“you just got here?” I asked and all he did was nod his head
“but you called few minutes ago saying you were…..
“oh plea-se, that was a mistake…… I mean, it was all a surprise” he said stuttering
“a surprise?
you call all this a surprise?” I asked nd he nodded
“enough of all this Robyn! he’s here alre-ady and from the drama you just put up, it seems he’s the Charles you’ve been taking about” dad said and I took a seat beside mum while Charles wi-nks at me and I looker away

“so Charles, you ate welcome into my abode” dad said and shook hands with him
“thank you sir, am honored” he said and mum gave him a light hvg
I kept mute, saying nothing with all my attention fixed on them
“Before we proceed to the banquet hall, I would like to confirm something from you” dad said and I could feel my cheeks aching from too much wi-de smiles
“okay sir!” Charles said gentlemanly and stole a glance from me while I did same
“what business do you have with my princess?
like, who are you to her?”dad asked and Charles smiled
“we are nothing other than close friends sir” he said confidently and I felt my head spinning
have I suddenly gone deaf or something?

“oh! really?” dad asked taking a glance at me
“what sort of friends if I might ask young man?” dad asked grinning happily
“nothing other than high school friends sir!” he said and I got up in anger

“am sorry Robyn, but I couldn’t bring myself to lie to your parents that we are d@t!ng, when we aren’t
am sorry” Charles said and I couldn’t even say anything
everything looks strange and new to me!
I felt my world crumbling
I felt so so heartbroken
