MAX POV
I stood watching her leave, what’s with the cold attitude.
“You really are some thing Max!” Geoffrey said as he stood beside me
“What do you mean?”
“How can you be d@t!ngRose! You said you like Andrea, so what’s this?”he asked
“I do like Andrea and I mean it “I replied
“Then what’s this with Rose?”He asked
“I can’t tell you about it but all you nee-d to know is that nothing is going on between us” I saÉØÉ.
“I might believe you but she wont, I saw her avoid you just now”he said
“Do you think she believed it too?”i asked
“Why else would she be avoiding you, you might be perfect when it comes to book but when it comes to relationsh!pyou don’t know thÉ basics” Geoffrey said cooly.
“This is getting more worse”I muttered
“That is why you must tell her how you feel as soon as possible, just look at that! Jack is all over her” he said
I looked ahead and saw Jack with her, he was saying something that made her laugh.
I got so furious and jealous and if Geoffrey hadn’t been beside me, I might have gone to Jack and give him some good beating
“You nee-d to tell her how you feel and you must do that soon” he said
“I will do it then” I replied.
“Thats it man, I will be with you all the way, I kind of like you for Andrea”he said as he gently tapped me
ANDREA POV
“This is yummy”I said as I bit into the desert that had been served for us
We all sat around the little cafeteria that had been set out for our use.
It was quite large for the number of students that were presĀ£nt on the camping ground and I wouldn’t deny that even though this is not what I expect,I still love it.
This will be my first camping experience and I hope that even with Max and Rose around, I can get to have a bit of fun.
“You are right Andrea, this is very delicious”Beatrice agreed as she dig into her own desert.
“Have you guys seen Geoffrey, i nee-d to get my money back from that loaner”Brenda said
“I think I saw him with Max a while ago, oh! he is over there with Max and the others” the clas-s rep replied and we all looked at the table where Max was seated with the others
I was surprised to see Max starring at me and quic-kly I looked away
“He is going to get it from me!!!!”Brenda said as she got up and went to Geoffrey table.
Just then Rose walked past us and went to sit beside Max.
“Wow, isnt she one lucky girl?” Beatrice said as we stared at Rose talking to Max.
“StĀ©p talking about them and eat your desert” Jack said and before I could stĀ©p him he took mine and began to eat it
“Hey that’s mine”I said wanting to take it from him but he ate it all and that got me feeling angry and in retaliation I hit him on his arm.
“Ooooouch!!!!!! That hurts”he yelled at me
“That’s for eating for my desert “I said as I stood up and left the cafeteria.
My hands felt sticky and i had to wash it,I was heading to the wash room when I heard Max call
I turned to see him behind me,I would have walked off if he hadnt pu-ll-ed me back
“Why are you avoiding me?”He asked
“Am not avoiding you”I replied and tried to pu-ll my hand off but he held it ti-ghtly.
“Then why do you run away each time I try to talk to you?”he asked
“I did not run away ,am just……am”
“Max, Oh! sorry for interrupting Andrea but I have to talk to Max”Rose said
“Andrea and I………”
“It’s no problem,I was just about to leave “I said cutting Max off
“We haven’t finished talking “he said and just then Jack c@mĀ£ to us,taking my other hand.
“She doesn’t have any thing to discuss with you, shall we Andrea? “Jack asked as he held my hand
“Andrea isn’t going any where with you!” Max replied as he pu-ll-ed me back
“Just leave her alone and go and attend to your girlfriend”Jack said and immediately Max let go of me.
Feeling hurt by how he let go of me at the mention of Rose, I let Jack pu-ll me away.
There was no one at the camping ground and that’s because they were all at the cafeteria, eating.
“Are you alright?”Jack asked
” Yes I am alright” I replied as I tried to hide the pain I was feeling
“Are you sure?”Jack asked and the tears have been holding in began to pour.
I began to cry while Jack stood watching me.
“You are not okay”he said as he hvgged me ti-ght
“I can’t take it any more Jack, it hurts so much”I said as I kept on crying in his arms
“What hurt so much?”Jack asked as he let me go to stare at me
“I like him, I really like him a lot but knowing that he doesn’t feel the same way hurts me “I said in between sobs
“You like who?”Jack asked
“Max! I like him a lot but he doesn’t feel the same way “I said as I kept on crying
“What am I going to do Jack, what should I do to stĀ©p my heart from being hurt?”I asked Jack who stood watching me in Silence
“First you should calm down, stĀ©p crying”he said as he wiped away my tears.
“I can’t take it Jack, I just can’t”I said as new tears began to pour again.
MAX POV
“What do you have to say ?”I asked as I stared at Rose still feeling angry with what happened a while earlier
“Nothing precisely, I was just looking for you to give you this?”she said as she stretched a package to me
“What’s that ?”I asked
“It’s some thing I got while coming to the camp”She said and i sighed.
“Look! Rose, if it were up to me, I won’t be talking to you, neither would I want to be close to you but have got no option, i nee-d to protect some one, that is why I agreed to be civil towards you, don’t think that they can ever be any thing between us”I said
“I know okay, I know that you only agreed to be civil towards me but some how am Hoping that you will have a change of heart and decide to see me in another light but I guessed wrong?”she said softly
“You guessed wrong Rose, I don’t love you, neither do I even want to talk to you but due to both our parents who wants us to be civil at least, am willing to be civil towards you and I hope that you do same too Rose”I said as I walk off .
The only way I had to keep Andrea and her mom Safe is by being civil towards Rose.
If I knew that it would cause a misun-derstanding like this, I would never have agreed to it .
I have to find Andrea and tell her of my feelings, I thought as I began to walk throu-gh the path she just went by with Jack when Geoffrey c@mĀ£ to me
“Tell me! Have you told her yet?”Geoffrey asked
“I didn’t get the chance to”I replied feeling angry
“Until when will we do this! Do you want Jack to take her from you?”He asked
“Never,I won’t ever allow it”I said
“Then plea-se Max move up with it, do it fast or else you will lose the girl you love for good”Geoffrey said and just then I thought of some thing
“Can you help me with some thing Geoffrey?”I asked.
ANDREA POV
“It’s game night tonight guys”the MC began as we all gathered around camping podium
“So who is in for a bit of game”The MC asked us all and we all yelled in agreement
I was feeling a bit embarras-sed about what happened earlier, I had cried and told Jack of my true feelings some thing have never done with Brenda or Beatrice.
I stared at Jack who sat some paces beside me and I sighed softly, I looked up only to see Max talking to Geoffrey.
Seems like he doesnt have any thing to be worried about, after all am the one who liked him first, some thing I should have never done.
Feeling suffocated a bit ,I stood up only for the MC to point at me
“Would you plea-se come up front, thanks for offering your self” he said and having no choice,I went to him
“Wow! Isn’t she beautiful, I bet guys are all over her?” The Mc said ma-king me feel nervous
“Yes”the other students chorused
“Now that we have a pretty girl, we only nee-d two hand some students for the game, who is in?” he asked while starring at the crowd.
“Am in!” both Max and Jack said together and while they both stood up starring at each other, I felt like dying, why did the two students have to be them and just what kind of game is this, what have I gotten myself into.

ANDREA POV
“Wow! Seems like our beauty gets to have her two prince charming, come over here”the MC said to Jack and Max.
The two c@mĀ£ to stand beside me and some how I felt concious about it
“Now that we have the two hand some studs, the game will start now”The MC said and soon the game of truth and dare began.
“Every questions that will be asked will pertain to the girl here, your answer should be the truth, the lie detector will tell on you, so you better say the truth”he said as we all sat on a table with me in the middle
“First question goes to Andrea! If you were to choose between this two handsome stud, who would it be? This is a question and so it’s the truth we want”He said
For a while I thought of just calling Max name but when I remembered Rose and what his mother said to me,I changed my mind
“I will certainly choose any one that makes me happy”I said and the machine re-ad that it was the truth.
“Now the second question goes to one of these handsome stud here, if you were in a relationsh!pand you just meet this pretty lady, will you go for her even knowing that you have some one?”the MC asked Jack who stood by the
“Well am lucky not to have some one yet and I wouldn’t mind to have you “Jack said starring at me and ma-king all the students go wild with his answers
“That was quite de-ep”the MC said getting our attention again
“Can’t you ever be serious!”I muttered at him and then focused on the competition
“If some thing precious to you had fallen into the river and at the same time this beauty had fallen into the river, who will save first?”he asked looking at Max
“I will certainly save the beauty, I can lose what’s precious to me as long at the beauty is save”he said this staring at me but I didn’t look at him
“A solid answer, seems like this two studs of ours is in favour of the beauty”he said
“Why don’t we go a bit more dee-per, let’s move onto the dare p@rt”The MC suggested.

A while later while the students were busy dancing and having fun, I felt a bit sad and I wanted to be alone.
I excused myself, wanting to go to the tent o shared with Beatrice and Brenda.
An early night will help my broken heart a bit, I thought.
I was surprised to see Max crouched in front of the tent and it seemed like he was waiting for some one.
“Why are you here ?”I asked and when he saw me, he stood up quic-kly.
“I was waiting for you”he replied
“For what?”I asked still feeling hurt by him getting back with Rose
“Can we go and talk some where else?”he asked
“Am tried Max, if you have to tell me any thing, just tell me here and you should do it fast before Rose comes for you”I added that last p@rt just so he could leave and go to her but he didn’t
“Andrea?Andrea?”we both heard Jack calling her and quic-kly Max opened up our tent and pushed me into it.
It was quite dark and all I knew was that Max was with me in the tent
“I have to know why he is looking for me”I whispered to Max
“Not now, not until I get to talk to you finish”he whispered back
“Andrea! Where could she have gone?”Jack said as he walked off.
“See he is gone”Max said to me and quic-kly I turned on the tent light
“What is it that you want Max?”I asked
“Would you believe me if I told you that I want you?”he said
“If this is some kind of joke to you,I would ask you to leave now, Rose is waiting for you and it will be unfair for you to leave her there and be here with me”I said
“Am not d@t!ngRose”he said
“Don’t try to lie Max, every one knows that you are……..”
“Am not d@t!ngher and I don’t think I will ever d@tĀ£ her because I like some one else”He said
Once again i felt sad, he is not d@t!ngRose but he likes some one else, I thought
“Well I hope she likes you back Max, I nee-d to freshen up, so will you plea-se leave”I said trying to hold back my tears
“Well I certainly hope she likes me back because am risking it all to tell her”He added
“I think the girl you like should be the one hearing this”I said
“Of course she should after all am telling her right now”he said suddenly
“What?”
“You are the one Andrea, the one I like, the one I want,Its neither Rose or any one else, it’s you”he said and before I could stĀ©p him he walked towards me and k!$$Ā£d me
At first I was still surprised by his confession but when I realised that he really loves me, I began to k!sshim back.
It took a while before he let go of each other, I stared at him while he did the same to me
“Am not just imagining this right?”I asked
“You are not imagining it”he replied giving me a k!ssagain
“You do like me ?”I asked again and he nodded
“I still can’t believe this, just a while ago I thought you were d@t!ngRose,that you will never see me as some one you can love,that I be the only one Suffering for what I felt for you”I said
“Have always like you Andrea, I told myself not to,I tried to stay away from you but I kept on going back, I get angry and jealous each time I see you with a guy, I always want to protect and watch over you and it was also one of the reason why I kept your secret, I knew that if people were to find out,you will leave and I didn’t want that, I didn’t want to lose you, so now you know how much I like you, tell me? do you feel the same?”he asked
“Do I feel the same? Of course I do, I love you so much that each time I see you I always want to cover you with k!sses, I always want to hold you and tell you how much I like you, I always feel hurt each time I see you with Rose,I always hate it when you avoid me and told me to stay away,I always go red and I feel bu-tterflies in my stomach, I like you so much that i can’t live with out you, does that answer your question?”I asked
“Yes it does”he said and pu-ll-ed me to him, hvgging me ti-ght
“I also like you that I can’t live without you”He whispered into my ear and I held him ti-ght
I can’t believe that am here with Max, that I just told him that I like him.
“It still feel like a dream,” I said as we both strolled around the camping ground
The others were still having fun and so they won’t notice us being around.
“We will have to keep our relationsh!pa secret”I said as he held my hand
“Why?”he asked
“I got a feeling that your mom doesn’t like me and that she wants Rose for you”I said
“You know very well that I don’t care about what my mom says”he said
“But I do Max, to you your mom is your mom but to me and my mom she is our boss, she had called me in some time ago and had asked me to keep my distance, she thinks am the reason why you ha-rd ly talk to Rose”
“She doesn’t have a right to do that ?” He said
“Well as your mother she does and she wants you to have the best which is Rose”
“I don’t want Rose, as long as I have you,I don’t care about having the best”he said
“Can we just keep it a secret for now, am afraid that if people were to know, we will have to separate and I don’t want that”I said and he hvgged me
“Fine then, we will keep it a secret”He replied still hvgging me.
“What are you two doing ?”some one said suddenly and quic-kly I pu-ll-ed away from Max only to see Brenda looking at us
“Nothing! Andrea was just feeling down a bit”Max replied quic-kly saving me from explaining
“I know why she is feeling down and it’s all because of you”Brenda said as she moved towards us
“You are being cruel on her again? Why are you always cruel to pretty girls, common Andrea let’s go”Brenda said as she pu-ll-ed me off
I turned to whisper a good night to him before we walked out of his sight.
